Sir Henry Tate in Chorley

Been to loads of Wethers and love them. Libe in Chorley now but not been to Sir Henry Tate for about 6 months. Staff were nice. Only problem was dirty cutlery....had to ask staff to change...bits of food on btoh forks. Plates were also dirty....real shame its put me off....hope it was a one off!

Great range of well kept beers at staggeringly good prices. Like many 'Spoons it attracts all sorts and can be a bit raucous.

The early breakfast and beer venue of choice for the discerning alcoholic. Food was good and reasonably priced and the 10am drinkers where well behaved. Place was clean and well equipped for the diners needs. Staff are friendly and helpfull. Its a bar first and foremost so expect whiffy toilets and the perfume of poverty thoughout.

It's a 'spoons and not a bad one.

Nipped in for a quick lunch - Korean bang bang chicken looked nothing like the promotional picture, was just rice and chicken nuggets. Also ordered a portion of chips which, when arrived, looked like they had been cooked several hours earlier and sat in the fryer the whole time. We didn't eat them, was in a rush should have complained but didn't have time.

Good atmosphere, the lemon herb half chicken was brilliant. The only down side is you may have to wait for someone to take your order, but to be fair it was the busiest time of the day. May be having two people upstairs may help.

Visited for quick lunch and drink with my family. The atmosphere was great, staff were very friendly and the food was very nice. Kids gave their pizza and chicken nuggets 4.5 out of 5. My fish and chips was lovely. Prices doe everything really reasonable. Great place to stop in for a nice meal and few drinks. They do ulimitied top ups to tea/hot chocolate and coffee so a great place to go for a catch up with friends as well. Definitely make an effort to pop in here more often.

I Bought me and my girlfriend a Drink and also a 4 Shots of Jägerbombs for my bestmate and his gf and I went to the toilet while my girlfriend and her best mate was sat at the table we was on and I came back and all the drinks were gone bearing in mind their was a Full bottle of birra Moretti and half a Pint of Birra morreti and also half a glass of Disaronno and coke and a Full Glass of Disaronno and coke and I came back and they were gone bearing In mind I paid £19.87 for 4 shots of jager bombs a Pint of Birra Morreti and a Double Disaronno and Coke absolutely disgraceful

Absolutely appalling attitude today from staff paid for a drink downstairs then found a table upstairs ordered food and a drink from the app food came with no drink went and asked at the bar where drink was got told there is already a preseco glass on the table you have had your drinks so basically calling me a lier eventually brought us our drinks with no apology just dumped on our table so rude !!! We paid for our drinks wasn't our fault they missed them of the order All NEED TO GO ON A CUTOMER SERVICES COURSE FOR CHRISTMAS !!!

You get what you pay for; and that's not in a bad way. If you're hungry and thirsty, then Wetherspoons is the place to go

Food came at different times. They forgot items we ordered.. the loaded fires for £6 pounds was abysmal. Not ordering food form this weathers again. KFC round the corner is cheaper and better... On the plus side. Beers are good tho

Visited while on our stay in Chorley. It is in a lovely newly regenerated area of the town and is situated near shops with the Flat Iron Car park the closet to. A big spoons once inside on 2 floors. Ordered our breakfast. Waited longer than normal and it arrived and as always is as delicious as always. Lots of seating areas on both floors. There is a lift so disabled access is catered for. A nice spoons with a relaxed atmosphere. The only problem is the parking as you are kind of forced to pay for daytime parking and with it being a 'short stay' you only get 2 hours but at £1 you can't complain. It is free to park after 5pm. Not a bad spoons at all and worth a visit if in Chorley

Great prices. I was on 6% wobbly bob for £2.63. Carling is £4.50 in my local pub. Wetherspoons are a godsend.

It's a Spoons, but the upstairs floor looks nice and comfy

A smaller Spoons and this one was rammed for a midweek afternoon. Seemed very popular though and clearly a winner for the folk of Chorley.

Best sirloin steak I had for a long time. Very pleased with their kitchen.

Waited 50 minutes waiting for food only to be told they ran out of 2 of our orders. Had 10 minutes left of our break and had to go without food. Totally useless place!

Great prices on drinks. Food is ok. It's almost always crowded. so finding a table for a larger party may be an issue. Nice big toilets upstairs. Friendly staff, and quick service if you use the app. Not really kid friendly.

Update on the worst spoons in the country.Mr Tim Martin you need to visit this example of your empire.No ladies toilets again,use the single disabled toilet downstairs full of gents pee,happy days !!!! This pub has had these problems ongoing for ever.Fellower spooners let me know your thoughts ,let’s have a vote on the worst spoons in the country.In my opinion Sir Henry Tate.This one takes some beating, believe me.

Quick, friendly service. The burgers have gone downhill over the last few years, but all the other food was pretty good for the price

Cheap & Cheerful Went on on a Wednesday around 5:00 pm Let down by the Men fighting in the Doorway in full view of Families with Children

the waiter on the first floor openly ignored us, after a personal appeal and oven 2 approaches to the bar counter, he still did not manager to come within 15 minutes after complaining about him to the manager, I am not sure that any measures were taken, since the manager himself reluctantly apologized - as if we still owed him. Tables are wiped only an urgent request, repeated 2-3 times, and all this when the restaurant was a quarter full.

Great steak cooked just how we like it. Nice friendly staff. Definitely go back next time in Chorley.

Brilliant food at excellent prices

Oh dear! We regularly bob in for breakfast and usually it’s ok to good for a quick and easy breakfast fix, however this morning was terrible! We ordered one veggie and one vegan breakfast. After 30 mins we went to check on where our food was as usually service is fast and the pub was very quiet today. They had allocated our food to the wrong table and returned it to the kitchen. Literally a minute after us checking, the food arrived, having clearly been sat under heat lamps all the time after they had taken it to the wrong table. Surely someone could have asked the very few people around the pub if they had ordered food and surely you don’t then serve stone cold meals that have already sat for some time under lamps. The plates were hot, the food VERY cold, skinned over and wrinkled. The toast cold and rock hard. We then noticed that they had place butter packs on both meals including the vegan one. We went to ask for vegan spread. The veggie went to use all the butter packs and discovered they had fully melted, having also clearly being under the heat lamps and emptied all over the food - in the case of the vegan meal they had fully emptied onto the hash brown, which was not obvious until you knew to look. Hash browns could not then be eaten by the vegan diner. Milk is an allergen and very dangerous to those who are intolerant, this just shouldn’t happen!! Really very disappointing and potentially dangerous to serve food of this standard and without any due diligence regarding allergies!

Only popped in for a cheeky few drinks, no scran this time but was served by an absolutely spiffing lad Oliver who delivered bubbly banter and upped the game of what I thought Spoons service to be, all the staff were smartly dressed and seemed to know what they were doing, would definitely come back next time i’m cutting about Chorley, Thanks Lad🌹

Went lunch time Saturday. The place was busy. But there were lots of empty tables filled with dirty glasses and plates. No one was clearing them. Lights down low I guess to hide how dirty it all is. Sat at a table and cleared it ourselves after 20 minutes of waiting. Ordered food and drink on the app. Pints took 25 minutes to arrive. Food about 45 minutes. Was was OK. Nothing special. There are nicer / cleaner pubs to eat at.

Back to my home town for a catch up with my big bruv, Saturday morning pint or 2 and a full English. 10/10 the beers was top draw, and the full English was cooked & presented to a high standard. The atmosphere was great but that’s because is Chorley in Lancashire. Enough said 🌹

Typical wetherspoons love the pub chain in a couple of times a week different pubs. Food always good drinks cheaper than anywhere else.

Service is appalling, food cold and staff are rude, especially the manager. Ladies toilets not working and only available toilet for women for an entire pub is the single disabled toilet ! Disgusting

Lovely spoons in Chorley worth a visit, only problem staff shortages.

Lazy, rude, unhelpful staff. Waited more than 10mins at the bar to be served, cash card in hand, whilst staff stood chatting to friends. Myself & several others waiting were amazed that this was going on. When I complained to a surly member of staff I was told it was my fault as I hadn’t “shouted”. Plenty of other pubs in the area with staff who want to serve you rather than conduct their social lives whilst getting paid.

Well priced decent food served in a friendly efficient manner, but upstairs is unbearably hot as the air conditioning hasn't worked for years.

Staff was not helpful. We had been there for the first time and didn't have courtesy to help place the order. I ordered pizza, and they never cut it, although pizza was overpriced.

Called for American style pancakes. Arrived barely warm on cold plate. Had ordered extra bacon but ended up with 6 very small pieces of Streaky. Pancakes were tough!! All in all absolute rubbish. Highlighted this to staff who replied "I don't know what to tell you" he then shrugged and looked towards the kitchen. Coffee ok but highlight of the visit was clean toilets. What a sad indictment on Wetherspoons.

Quite the smaller Spoons. Service was great friendly lady etc etc. drinks perrrfect! Food was great!! Zero to complain about so deff coming again when in area.

The food was tasty and well presented. It could have done with being hotter but value for money was good. Good size portions The staff were pleasant and helpful. Lots of choice on the menu. One of the better chains.

Food was over done and cold. Wine by the bottle but extremely limited by the glass. Have visited before and was OK. Very disappointed on this occasion.

Usual spoons set up. Pizza was very dismal and the chips were okay. Odd one was half cooked. Pub has an upstairs seating area with a small bar as well as the main one downstairs.

The staff are efficient and friendly, the tables are cleared and cleaned quickly and the bar is always well staffed. Very pleasant experience.

Do not go here.Went here Sat pm been there 3 hour's told to move by aggresive female security guard who tolld us to leave.We are are group aged 70+ treated as we are thugs.She then kicked off big still,shouting balling.young other people completely shocked at her attitude.She calls manager,manager full of apologies but backs her up.Asked for her name but guess what nobody would give her name.I have lived in Chorley all my 70+ years I have never been treated in this manner you are a complete and utter ….. show

Good place lovey staff plenty of drink options

Hello, I’d like to say I come to Henry tate quite a bit, in fact I enjoy coming for a few drinks and the occasional dance. However, on this occasion, Megan the security guard becanae quite aggressive towards me having a good time. I shouted across to my friend and she threatened to throw me out. There was no need for this level on anger and I am quite upset by her outburst as “I am a very reasonable and respectable person. I thought her tone and aggression was out of order and very upsetting. I am now very wary of entering this establishment again.

Convenient location. We only took a burger, potatoes and beer, but everything turned out to be tasty and fast. And there was a nice atmosphere...

Appalling place. Happy to take our money for two hours and serve drinks, come 9pm some mouthy staff member decided one of the group looked too young (she had been serving us food and drinks our entire visit). Then some mouthy young security bloke came took out drinks and told us to leave, when another security bloke had already said their was no problem that he could see. Pity really, most staff were very helpful and friendly. I’m 61 and confined to a wheelchair both my friends are over 25 and look it. We were quiet and respectful the entire time. Want an enjoyable night out in Chorley with no drama, avoid this place. A few pig ignorant staff and even worse security.

Had a Meal in this weatherspons. So disappointed in the quality. I used to frequent this place in the past. Not been for a while. The standard of food has definaltly gone down in my opinion. And the price has increased. Drink is fine, but food beware.just saying.

Oh dear 😥 very dirty pub, nobody clearing the tables of glasses, rubbish under the tables etc. The young chubby girl behind the bar obviously hates the job so why not leave? Food really good which helped. Wetherspoons definitely going downhill.

We just dropped in for a coffee break. It was jam packed, noisy and the tables were in desperate need of a clean. Although they have a lift, the toilets are upstairs, this is an inconvenience for many people. We won't be visiting there again. Sorry.

Great cheap place for food and drinks.

It was Good Friday when we caught the bus over to Chorley to walk round Astley Park and have lunch at Wetherspoons. It was busy as their pubs often are, but we weren't very impressed that it took at least three quarters of an hour to order and receive our meals. I had small fish, chips and mushy peas and my husband had the large portion – we had no problem with the meals and enjoyed them. I don't know what had happened, either the Manager had underestimated how many staff they would need or he had difficulty finding enough staff to work efficiently. There were other people asking what had happened to their meals.

This is a nice pub for an evening with friends. Or a nice pub lunch. Food usual pub fair but good quality. Staff are welcoming and friendly. Disabled facilities good. However due to their convenience on the ground floor they are used by everyone. Suggest they have a disabled key lock fitted.

Appalling service, went in on Saturday lunch time, ordered off the app. Staff were rude advising I needed to pick something else off the menu as they didn’t have what I wanted in. Extremely long wait time for the food not once advised of the wait time. Plates piled high on empty tables, not being cleared. I won’t be returning and would not recommend.

Nice enough. Staff were friendly. Drinks, however, were a little weak tasting, and husband wasn't impressed with his pint. It's not like him to leave a drink!

Really well priced, generally decent bar foods, with not long to wait. Plenty of tables and a lift to upstairs toilets. Endless tea and coffee makes it really popular.. I tend to take my elderly mother there for a breakfast.. All good.. 👍

Very rude staff member rcalled Linda, I think. Should not be dealing with the pubic. Tables full of dirty plates and glasses. When I asked if there would be a chance to get one cleaned. The staff member (Linda) said wait I'm toooo busy. This is what happens on a Tuesday I can't do everything. We cleaned our own table with wet wipes then ordered with the app. Food arrived stone cold no apology. We asked for the manager but they never came near. What an embarrassment this pub is.
