Nice lively restaurant with good food, but quite expensive and fairly small portions. If you are going for dinner then expect to pay at least £60 per person. And maybe eat before you go...

Had my birthday bash there, superb food great atmosphere, just pure class. No wonder they won multiple awards. The fine detail from flowers to soaps in washrooms. Their cocktails are OMG !!! Amazing. Be taking my guests there soon. keep it up Skewd !!!

We arrived as a party of 10 for our friends birthday meal this was the cockfoster branch was welcomed by the host and show to our table that was ready for our arrival. The rest of our party arrived drinks we're ordered and the atmosphere seemed nice at first. Unfortunately drinks arrived and we're placed in the wrong place on multiple occasions. Fine big party of guests as we continued to order more drinks we were served buy multiple waiters/ waitress and drink orders continued to come out wrong or not arrive at all was all a bit chaotic. Bread was placed on the table nice touch and was quite delicious. The restaurant was becoming more chaotic as the night went on with waiters rushing around clearing tables on many occasions I had to actually duck my head to avoid being hit by staff as they passed with a big long table collecting tray. Mains meals and starters were ordered we asked for everything to come out together and once again staff didn't know we're to place meals or sides. I ordered the chicken shish that came with a salad I ordered Rice as a side. I wish I didn't bother as I could eat the salad and rice with my chicken as the plate size was ridiculous and wasn't possible to even put my salad on let alone the rise I would recommend the restaurant give a separate plate as you can't enjoy the food together. Overall I believe the restaurant really tried to give us a great experience but I felt staff quality was massively lacking and for the price you pay you expected experienced service which we did not receive because of this I would only return as a party of 2

My mate took me there for my birthday and it was a great evening, very busy so pls book in advance. The cocktails were nice and the food was exquisite…. Staff were on point I couldn’t fault the place… definitely coming back! 💯

Honestly nothing but praise for this restaurant. The food was pricey but honestly the staff attentiveness and quality of the food totally are worth the higher price. Our waitress Demi was fantastic, she checked in regularly and dealt with my gluten allergy ideally, she was able to list the gluten free items off the menu and even came back to offer me some extras so I wasn’t missing out. The food was absolutely incredible and we all left too stuffed to even consider dessert! Would come back in a heartbeat, truly a fabulous experience.

I’d heard good things about this place from couple of friends so i thought I’d check it out on a date night with the Mrs and sorry but from the off we noticed the poor service, it’s a shame because it’s a nice place to be in with a live DJ (on a Saturday night) but no dance floor which isn’t normally seen inTurkish restaurants as in no dance floor just DJ blazing out tunes, I guess they’re trying to create a different vibe. The restaurant was cramped, the tables were too close to one another and couldn’t hear myself think because of the loud music and tables being so close together. It feels like they’re focusing in making the place look all fancy but food & service aren’t on the same page. The food, if you’ve got a Gluten intolerance, this place isn’t the one. The waiters aren’t too clued up, even though they say they offer Gluten Free options. For example I ordered Gluten Free chips and the waiter brought them to my table and said yes they’re Gluten Free but then the manager came over saying no they’re not Gluten Free and said we don’t have any in stock at the moment. So no chips with my Chicken Shish, which may I add was such a small portion and tasteless over done as well. Over priced for what was served up. I wouldn’t recommend this restaurant. The food here is made well (especially the bread and spread they bring round), but in my opinion it is a bit too overpriced. I am a vegetarian and paid a whopping £18.90 for simply just a plate of grilled vegetables with a side salad. I would have really liked some rice with it but it was an extra £4.90 which I decided not to get due to the price. Some people may find this reasonable pricing for the quality, however this is purely just my opinion based on my personal experience. The service was a bit hit and miss. On some occasions during the night the servers went above and beyond and then on other occasions, I wasn't particularly impressed i.e. they did not ask if we were finished with our meal and just came and took the plates away. I also don't understand the deal with the water, because I was extremely thirsty as it had been a hot day, and if you want water they come and pour a bit of fancy citrus/mint water into your glass and then walk away. I felt like I was chasing the servers many times for more water, when I wish they would just put the jugs on the table. If you're wanting to go somewhere with a quiet atmosphere, this is not the place for you. The music is fairly bass-heavy and a bit too loud which made it difficult to hear others during conversations. My only main positive is that the food did taste good, but overall I personally wouldn't return back to this place.

Just returned home after a most fantastic evening at the Skewd restaurant at the Grove Hotel, Watford. Firstly the environment is amazing both inside and outside. The setting is wonderful. Secondly the staff were fantastic. We were looked after with care , respect and friendliness. A special thank you to Aynur who went out of her way to make sure we were well looked after. Thirdly the food. We love Turkish food . This was the best. We had the Mixed Meze to start followed by Chicken Shish and lamb ribs and bar b qd onions. Followed by baked Alaska which was to die for. I cannot rate this restaurant highly enough. They have another restaurant in Cockfosters which is equally as good but the environment makes this special. Whilst it’s not a cheap night out I would say it’s good value as it’s excellent . We will definitely be returning soon. Thank you for a lovely experience.

Went to The Grove pop up. Food was overpriced, service was poor. We were left waiting for ages before being served first set of drinks, same again for 2nd set of drinks. Didn’t clear table for ages after we finished starter. Food was nice enough, but not worth the price sadly. Others around us were having better service, so think we just had a bad waiter.

We went to the Skewd "pop up" at the Grove - was excellent. A VERY pretty setting, great food - generous portions. And fantastic service - I never credit an individual waiter as it always makes it look like a fake review...but...Touran, thanks for making the lunch that bit more special.

second time I've had takeaway after working long hours, both times I have stipulated no chilli on anything. both times I got chilli. I now make a point of telling people not to eat there or get takeaway .will not be going back.

From the warm welcome you enter this haven of magical restaurant experience. The vibe, energy and sleek decor are the initial impact of a great experience ahead for you. My friend and I both vegetarians had the veggie skewers with salad and rice. Absolutely delicious. The desert was superb. Can’t wait to go back.

First time here. Its very, very busy. Lots of people on lots of tables. The food is excellent and staff very attentive. All chicken and lamb dishes were really tasty. Would def return but not often because... it is expensive. Drink is dear especially the wine.

Food is always amazing from here but the music is way too loud. For this reason we eat outside in the summer and take away only in the winter. It’s impossible to talk over the music so the first time we went as just had to sit in silence. I just can’t get enough of their aubergine dip though. I get a take away at least once a week!

Another great meal at Skewd. First time having the lamb chops and we were not disappointed, very tasty and crispy. Chips are some of the best I have ever had and as always the chicken shish was lovely. My favourite thing about Skewd is the desserts - blueberry cheesecake, walnut pudding and pomegranate sorbet were all divine. I love the 'edgy' nature of Skewd and we are definitely booking another visit soon. The ambience and vibe is really good, I recommend coming on a weekday if you like a more subdued atmosphere as like anywhere, weekends tend to be more hectic. Great service too, the one waitress always remembers us as we have been visiting Skewd since they were in their old venue. Its great to see how well they are doing!

The food was delicious and staff were lovely so we would have given 5 stars. However this restaurant has to decide if it wants to be a night club or a restaurant, the music played by a DJ was far too loud for people like us who want to chat over a meal. It was impossible to hear each other and even the staff couldn’t hear us. It’s a shame we won’t go back until this is addressed.

We went to Skewd at Belmont farm last week to celebrate my fathers birthday.This was the first time for many months that the 6 of us could be out together so were looking forward to it.Unfortunately the food was on the whole was a disappointment.I must however say the calamari were excellent.When ordering our starters my wife asked our server about the salad ( at £8.00) and she said that it was quite small and not suitable to share ,she suggested we order 2.We felt misled as it was far bigger plate than we were told.Out of the 6 mains all had issues.Prawns overcooked,lamb and Adana were dry.I ordered the mixed grill and was surprised at the small plate of food given.I actually called over the manager and said is this the mixed grillHis response... yes 3 cubes chicken 1 yes 1 cube lamb 2 tiny ribs 1 chop and AdanaAt £26.90 with no rice or chips thought this was disappointing.My fathers main of Adana was burnt !Had it not been his birthday I would have made my feelings known at the time.Although our main server mislead us with regards to some ordering she was very friendly which cannot be said for any of the other staff who brought up our food/ drinks. With only 3 alcoholic drinks and no desserts a bill of £222.00 was excessive.I do not mind spending a lot on a meal out but simply felt this was not value for money.

Top quality food and service, had the scallops for starters, which was nicely seared with mash potato and the lamb shish is out of this world.Attention to detail is given on every dish, very busy on a Tuesday night, queue outside, service was great, with knowledge.Ambience is great, highly recommend and will definitely return.

There is nothing skewed about Skewed Kitchen, they are welcoming, polite and take care of you from the moment you arrive. The kitchen is in full open view and there is nowhere to hide for the chefs. However, these chefs should be seen and applauded. They do great food, really well. Even their take-away is next level. Beautifully packaged and perfect portion sizes.if you haven't tried Skewed Kitchen, then you should. It's great

We visited the Skewd at Belmont Farm. Had heard a lot about the restaurant in Cockfosters so have been meaning to go for a while. The location is good with great views. Service is outstanding.We had a selection of 5 cold meza, they got one of the 5 wrong and were happy for us to keep the mistake and gave us the other starter FOC.We all went for the shish kebabs, 2 x Chicken, 1 x Lamb and 1 x Adana. When I saw the price I was expecting a full plate and was shocked to see 6 chunks of meat only. The chicken and Adana were fine but the lamb just didn't taste great an at £22 we expected better. The prices are ridiculously high and Im not sure what we had warrantied it. service 10/ 10, food 5/10

If you would like to be served by rude and arrogant staff then this is place to go. Only if you park with your Bentley or Lamborghini you might be treated nicely.

Cannot really fault the food or service but wow the prices are about 30% higher than two other comparable restaurants near bye with very similar food. They do not serve Wine and I was told in advance that I could bring my own for a fee of £10 a bottle. £10 can you believe that!!! Sadly we will not be back.

Expensive and mediocre.Located in the wealthy, residential area of Cockfosters, is this soho style, upmarket Turkish restaurant modelling itself as "gourmet". With fancy waitresses hovering around and house music thumping in the background, be prepared for eye watering prices with most main courses over or around £20.We ordered octopus which was tasteless and rubbery. Halep which is sausage looking from a skewer and the classic shish kebab. I have a feeling that one or all of these meats were not fresh. This resulted in "dodgy tummy" later (cramps, running to the loo).I don't recommend this place for eating but if you want to meet for a date or as the large table of young girls showed, for drinks with friends (and some appetisers) for a birthday, then its a good option.Otherwise, go to Gokyuzu which does Turkish food properly, fresh and at normal prices.

The smell of the charcoal even before you enter the marquee at the pop up at the farm is so enticing and the display of beautiful fresh produce. Great service even though incredibly busy and just superb food! We had mezzes delicious freshly made dips with lots of flat bread and superb prawns. Then lobster and lamb kebab and the best chips sprinkled with salt and rosemary. Loved that I was given a sample of mastic ice cream to try! You can book for £10 corkage or short but good wine list and lovely cocktails

We have been going to Skewd kitchen in Cockfosters since it opened and continued to have take away during lockdowns.When Mill Hill pop up opened a few weeks ago we were thrilled.The restaurant is wonderful, great food, great service and lovely atmosphere.The owner has gone all out to ensure distancing and warmth together with the best food.All we can say is that this is the best restaurant by far locally and probably beats may top London venues.Never fails to impress; thank you to Elias and his team for such great service and evening out together with perfect food.

Amazing customer service from the manager who helped us make our parent’s Anniversary during the tough lockdown times, not only the manager has surprised my parents to celebrate their Anniversary, he has also made sure bu calling the next the day to check if everything was ok.Cant wait to dine when they open, shame they not open until May the 17th.Highly recommend this place.

Have eaten at Skewd many times and the food has always been of a high stantard.Unfortunately, tonight's takeaway was very disappointing.The starters, especially the beetroot tarator and Tarama tasted nothing like the dishes we have ordered before.The bread was dry and did not taste fresh.The chicken shish, both portions, were over cooked and dry.Overall a very disappointing experience. We always want to support local businesses but if standards have slipped then unfortunately we have no choice but to give business elsewhere.

We had the best meal on mothers day, highly recommend this Turkish restaurant. We called to order and collected. Family enjoyed the meal defiantly going back for more.

On 26th January 2021 at 6:30pm we called up Skewd Kitchen for delivery to feed my family and bubble of 6 people including kids under the age of 12 years old and two dogs.We spent a whooping £150 + £5 for delivery service, (we live in Goffs Oak) When the food arrived we was extremely disappointed and disheartened to find the halal mix meat platter for 5 people very chewy, especially the chicken that was over cooked and we could hardly chew on, and even the kids couldn’t digest the meat, the tiger Prawns and lamb chops were over cooked and rubbery. Also to find that the salad was not freshly made on the day and there were brown leafs on some of the salad boxes. We were given a lot of unwanted dips and bread (maybe this was to bulk up our order?) We have ordered from Skewed over 4 times (with no problem, during this time we only ordered a meal for 2 people) We thought it would be more respectable to have a word with the Manager in person, on the 27th Jan, 2021, myself BoujeeZ Kitchen went to the restaurant to speak with the manger, in which he was not there, but the chef left a message. Later on in the day, we received a very rude and disrespectful phone call from the Manager in charge, I believe his name is Ali (apologies if it’s the wrong name) he got extremely rude and defence over the phone as said, we get a lot of customers and that there was nothing wrong with the food…. I asked the Manger if he tired the food before it was sent to us and he said no. After being rude and not allowing us to talk further on the phone, he said in a aggressive manor “That there is nothing he can do, and he basically doesn’t care if he looses our custom. From this awful experience, we will NO LONGER be going to SKWED, and will tell our family and friends never to enter this restaurant again. HIGHLY DISAPPOINTED , BAD customer service, POOR quality food (presented to us on the day 26/1/2021.) Best Regards, BoujeeZ Kitchen.

Had the most delicious take away this evening, called to order and collected within 30 mins. We eat in this restaurant in ‘normal’ times but the take away is fantastic value and portions are very generous and great quality. Packaged and presented very well too. See you next week!

Decent enough modern turkish menu with a variety of dishes. Service was good. It was busy there, so a good sign, though this was right before tier-3 so probably a last gasp for many people. On the downside it was pricey for two courses and not that much alcohol. Main negative - very hard to have a conversation as the music noise level was more akin to a nightclub than a restaurant. Maybe that's what the regular clientele want as they can't actually go clubbing at the moment?

This is a very trendy restaurant serving upmarket kebab. Gets very busy throughout the week which clearly shows its popularity. Service is friendly and efficient and food is overall very good. Price is a tad high on some dishes.I've been here a dozen times and would definitely return at some stage.

Food was amazing, service was amazing and so was the ambience. Highly recommend. Very attentive. I visited on Saturday (5.12.20). It was very busy but the staff were very attentive. Oh and we got a free tester of the new chocolate dessert too, fabulous. A must have!

I've been to Skewd twice: both times with different groups of friends. The first time, the restaurant tried to charge us for tap water. They offered us tap water (their words) which we accepted. When the first and subsequent bottles arrived, they were not sealed and we're in refillable, unbranded bottles. We ordered quite a few bottles - maybe three or four - each time asking for more tap water and each time receiving the same type of bottles. When the bill arrived, we understandably made a fuss until the restaurant took the charges off. On the second occasion, I found a hair baked into the cheese on my Turkish pide. Obviously, I complained and received a new one. However, the meal was already ruined for me so I didn't eat much of it. I received an apology but did not receive any sort of compensation.

Skewd’s atmosphere, authentic Anatolian food, AMAZING customer service is a must try. I have been going here for almost 3 years and it never fails to deliver an elegant meal packed with flavour, and staff who really take care of you. You can see the delicious food being cooked on the grill in front of you! The service (inclusive of the fantastic hygiene/ safety measures for COVID) are just outstanding. You must try the seasonal specials, octopus, scallops and the lamb shish with chargrilled vegetables. Their food is just a work of art - you won’t regret it!

This is one of many times I've visited this restaurant, but first since it's new renovation. Just like before it didn't fail to disappoint and I had a fantastic night enjoying beautiful food amongst good company on my table but also with an welcoming atmosphere within the restaurant as a whole. I don't believe there is an actual dress code for this restaurant when dining in the evening however I personally got the feeling that most people felt more comfortable to be amongst the smart dressed. This does not imply that people are judgemental at all, but more so that the vibe of the restaurant is very lively, up beat and sophisticated. Staff are extremely attentive and knowledgeable about their food, and if your husband is anything like mine where he constantly asks for recommendations, then be assured you'll be in good hands. Staff take the time to ask what you like and recommend well suited food to your liking. I without doubt would highly recommend their scallops for starters and their lamb shish for a main. OMG they are both out of this world, the scallops melt in your mouth, so soft and succulent with its beautiful concoction with the mashed potatoes. The lamb, well I just can't even start to talk about them without my mouth watering. Flavours and textures are to die for. And, I leave the best to last which is their walnut cake. This warm dessert is served with a cream of some sort, oh gosh, it is AMAZING! I've been told the chef makes this fresh every day and quite frankly you really don't need to be told this to know for yourself. The cocktails are amazing too and I really cannot wait to visit this diamond again. Whether it be with friends, a family meal or a date night, you will not be disappointed.

Went with 2 girlfriend last night . We booked and were shown to our table by a waiter who wore a mask. Overall vivid awareness quite good . Food was delicious . Portions a tad small on the chips and dips but the mains were generous. We had the chicken and lamb shish which was amazing . Cocktails to die for . But west end prices . Desserts were amazing too especially the walnut pudding and their specialWhich was sublime . Great local restaurant with a west end vibe .

Ok so officially I’ve eaten at all the restaurants on this parade and I have to say this one was the best. To be honest they are all very nice but I loved the new decor in skewd, the food was all nice. The ribs, lamb shish and chicken shish were lovely and the kunefe is a MUST! I will defiantly return

Came here for the eat out to help out discount.Hands down best Turkish meal I have had. My only gripe would be that my seafood kebab was slightly under done but apart from the couldn’t fault the ambience, quality of food or the service. Will be revisiting whilst the discount is in place.

Good food and location but rather expensive, so more of a treat!. The service charge of 20% is also very high!

Two of us came to this restaurant for lunch on a Sunday. We had pre booked, but there was lots of seating available.We were shown to our table by a member of staff who was wearing a face mask [as were all of the staff.]We were presented with a disposable paper menu. This restaurant is transparent as diners can see the kitchen and the food being prepared.Among the food that we ordered was 0.9 kg lobster. This cost £ 63.00Lamb Shish cost £ 19.90. It was good quality meat which was well cooked and well presented.In this restaurant you pay for EVERYTHING. We asked for more pitta bread. Three small pieces of bread were brought to our table, for which I was charged £ 2.90.With a couple of soft drinks, and service the bill came to £ 135.00

Visited Skewd for the first time on Saturday evening with my husband for our anniversary after being recommended by friends. They said you must go and wow can I see why. The food was delicious, so well flavoured and beautifully presented. The staff were friendly and attentive at all times. The social distancing in place works really well and you can see the time and effort that has been made to get it just right. The food really is a work of art. Can't wait to return one day soon.

this restaurant is always busy. Why? because it's good.Food is great, not the cheapest.Nice staff.Can get very busy at peak times and then very loud, to the point we stopped (before lockdown of course) going on Friday or Saturdays as we couldn't hear outselves think.

We had a wonderful meal last night at Skewd. We have allergies and the staff went out of their way to accommodate us. Service was great, food lovely and beautifully cooked and presented. They even gave us a plate of fruit for our anniversary. This is a great restaurant.

We’ve been to this restaurant 2 weeks in a row now as we’ve had to visit London.My parents actually recommended Skew’d that’s including my mother who isn’t the biggest fan of meat and does not eat any red meat at all.We have 2 children and sometimes it’s hard getting to enjoy a meal, a GOOD meal with the 2 munchkins.My husband and I are big fans of our local kebab shop in the trusty old midlands, but never thought a kebab could be served the way it is at Skew’d.The Lamb Shish is an absolute dream, I couldn’t ask for anything more and just wish I could pop in there again right now just to have it! The first time I visited I tried the huge mixed kebab, and this weekend, the Ali Nazi (also lamb shish).What an incredible dish, the meat is cooked perfectly in my opinion, it’s beautiful and tender. The flavours are absolutely unreal!Our children had the King Prawn dish this time which was served with a delicious garlic sauce which they then mixed into their pilav rice.The service at the restaurant is the cherry on top, nothing feels like a bother, the waitresses and waiters are with you in moments of even thinking about them.The best little touch for me is the incense sticks and the fragrance of the hand soap and lotion in the bathroom - what is that lotion, I need some at home!We were given complimentary hot chocolates for the children this weekend due to their good behaviour, what a thoughtful little gift. I’m glad we have found this restaurant and will visit much more often, it’s a great little discovery and needs to be visited if you’re in or around the area! It’s definitely worth the trip!

Best restaurant in outer north London? It's an open question but this restaurant is certainly a candidate.

Skewd is my personal favourite. It is perfect for groups, couples or friends. The food is very lush. The most tender prawns you have ever had, full of flavour, the fish is also amazing and the chips is out of this world. I will visit over and over again.

This place is a must visit. The experience from start to finish was just exceptional. Special mention goes to the manager Elias who greeted us with a huge warm smile as soon as we entered the restaurant, and realising we were not pleased with our table, went to great lengths to get us situated to our satisfaction. Seriously. The service was lovely and prompt and the atmosphere was everything that could be desired and then some. Then the food. Just wow! The menu at first glance seems pricey for ‘just Turkish food’ but then when it comes, you understand. It’s NOT just your run of the mill grill. These chefs are properly cooking fine food and have elevated the Turkish fare you might be used to, to delectable, fragrant dishes that are as much a pleasure to behold as they are to taste and savour. We had: calamari, chicken wings and scallops in Malibu butter. Hands down the best calamari we have had anywhere and the chicken wings were just indescribable. We could have just supped off the chicken wings all night but that was before we tasted the other wonders to come. The scallops in Malibu butter were very different to any we’ve ever had and we found them interesting and delightful. They were also gigantic scallops. Our mains were mixed grill, lamb chops, lamb shish on smushed aubergine, lamb ribs and chicken wings. Number one, nothing was dry, overcooked or burnt. Two, everything was soft with fantastic textures. Then the flavours, the way the dishes were cooked and presented, with every last morsel succulent, was excellent. Banish from your kind your regular dry Turkish. Everything was of a very high standard, in taste and presentation, with well executed concepts around each dish. The Ali Naik, my lamb shish on eggplant was just incredible. Everybody had exactly the same sentiments and said we are going back ASAP. It’s very, very good value for what you get and we recommend it unreservedly for the reasons above and the considerations below. It was a busy Friday evening and it is a full restaurant but they manage it well, with a well thought out and efficient layout. The manager and the waiters all mill about looking at customers and into their faces to see if they are pleased or need anything or just the give a high five if you are smiling, which we all were. Class act. Thank you Elias and team. You did yourselves proud.

Had lovely food for mums 70th birthday, all family enjoyed the food and ambience. Everything was so well prepared and presented it made the food so easy to eat, you just want to come back for more.

A lovely night with friends. Great food and service. Can’t fault anything and can happily recommend.

Good food but music unpleasant and too loud. Food is varied and very good but it was difficult to talk. Did ask for it to be turned down but don't think waiter could hear me.

Tasty dishes, fresh salads and delicious freshly baked breads. Enjoyed a cheese pide and salad, whilst my husband had liver and my son had chicken & lamb skewers. The chips were huge, crunchy and not my favourite. Service was perfectly adequate. We only nipped in for a light lunch and soft drinks. I was surprised they added 12.5% on our bill. I said £5 was more than enough tip for lunch. So I paid that, as service is “optional”. Quite expensive.
