Slim Chickens in Cheshire West and Chester

Place well managed, friendly staff, clean, good food, short wait, only downside no hot water in taps in toilet, my hands are freezing.

Always walked past this and never tried. Finally did and it didn't disappoint. Slim service, well cooked food and very clean. It's like a posh KFC

KFC but much better! Kids love Slim Chickens, I'm glad they don't have ketchup as we had our fussy 8 year old trying new flavours. We visited on Christmas Eve and decided it should now be our Christmas Eve tradition. We can't afford to have it all the time as it's quite expensive for fast food (hubby and I would without the kids). We only usually spend that much when we are having a pub lunch etc. Atmosphere doesn't reflect the price of the food.

Rude staff. Shameful attitude towards customers. Avoid and spend your money somewhere else!

Salad box is highly recommended, had before and would have again!

The cleanliness in this place shocked me. The toilets were in an awful state: smelled horrific, one was flooded and another had tissue all over the toilet seat. The tables were sticky. It completely put me off the food and never returning again. Not that it would have mattered as the food was cold. It was really disappointing.

Sadly not a very pleasant visit to Cheshire oaks slims yesterday. The restaurant was absolutely packed which was expected due to the time of day. No clean tables so we had to do this ourselves, no staff seemed approachable through either moaning or slagging off the manager, on their phones or serving other customers food. The food itself was overcooked and near enough burnt but the manager or presumed manager did not seem approachable through shouting through the restaurant for her team. The walls were thick with food and sauces, fluids on the floor. The toilet were absolutely disgusting. Sadly, due to this experience I wouldn’t return to this restaurant but would highly recommend a visit from their regional manager.

20+ plus mins for a breakfast wrap. Food is nice but damn it ain't fast.

For chicken and chips just thought it was abit expensive for what you get. I also thought it was a restaurant not a fast food place like five guys. Which obviously is my fault 😊

Visited Slim Chickens today at the Cheshire Oaks Retail Village today for the first time after hearing good reviews about Slim Chickens. The first thing that caught my attention was the price of the food, I paid £13/£14 for the 3 tenders & 3 Wings meal & a Gravy. I'm not one to moan about price for the sake of it but when I start paying those prices I expect good quality food. If the quality justifies the price then I'm more than happy to pay any price! After receiving my food I gave it a taste, excited to try Slim Chickens for the first time! I was utterly disappointed to be honest with you, the tenders were single breaded, dry, unseasoned & slighlty over cooked (I assume this is due to being left in a holding cabinet for too long) the wings were hot & juicy but lacked any real taste or seasoning. The fries were decent with decent seasoning. The Gravy was excellent, full of flavour and i loved the selection of dips. My trip wasn't a complete disaster but felt incredibly underwhelming and my first thought as I started eating was that I wished I would of gone somewhere else before spending £17 on average food. Service 8/10 Food (for the price) 5/10 Hygiene (7/10)

Tasty food, not the quickest to come out but it was really fresh which is more important to me. Friendly staff who were working hard during a busy evening.

Disappointing Service for Frontline Worker I can't speak to the food or atmosphere here, but the poor service left a bad taste. I was working at Cheshire Oaks, providing medical cover — a crucial role that requires me to be on call and available at a moment’s notice. I had heard good things about this place and thought I’d give it a try. When I arrived, I politely asked the staff how long the wait would be. Given my job and the nature of my work, I hoped they might accommodate me with a quicker order. One staff member kindly checked with her manager to see if I could jump the queue for a quick order (not a large family meal or anything excessive), explaining my situation. The response? A firm "No" — no flexibility or understanding for someone working in a demanding role. I get that there are rules, but when a business can't make reasonable accommodations for on-duty medical staff, it speaks volumes about their priorities. It's a shame because they lost a customer that day, and I'm not the only one. I doubt my fellow colleagues, who work similar demanding jobs, will be eager to support a business that isn’t willing to show a bit of compassion or flexibility. A disappointing experience, and certainly not what I’d call service-oriented!

Fabulous service in this restaurant couldn't believe we didn't need to wait for our food as the place was so busy. Food arrived about 5-10 minutes after ordering. The food was hot and to a very good standard. Would highly recommend! The milkshakes are delicious too!

I wouldn't recommend Slim Chickens. When the food eventually came, the chicken tenders were very dry, and all the food was served lukewarm. The fried pickles are very overrated and only, as far as I know, come in a single large portion size. Overall pretty disappointing and there are a lot better fried chicken joints out there I would go instead. One positive was the good variety of dipping sauces!

The food was 10/10 until a short man walked out and started asking my girlfriend to "show sum skin". She felt very off after this interaction. I think his name was greg or something. Really needs to be sorted out. all other staff were very nice.

lucy served me in the till, she was so helpful. she made me the best biscoff milkshake i’ve ever had in my whole life. what a great experience at such a lovely store. definitely will be back.

My family loves the food here they are all meat eaters . I would say as a vegitarian more often than not the vegitarian option isn't available so I end up with just fries which I don't mind but best to make others aware . Visited with family the outside which was just as dirty as the inside ,food left on tables ,the bin was overflowing ,liquid bin was full ,not a good atmosphere to eat a family meal with ,the chicken was really nice ,chips were not at all and the coleslaw was more of a mess in a bowl ,milkshakes werewere spot on ... Toilets oh my days !!! Dirty and toilet roll all over the floor it wasn't in the toilet roll holder they really were not pleasant I've seen cleaner in derelict houses and the smell was like nothing I've smelt before ,understaffed ,no one available to help it's non stop ,tables inside full of food yes the public are so lazy ...maybe take on a few customer service assistants to help customers ,and clear tables etc and empty bins ...2 lovely blonde haired girls came and emptied the outside bins ,definitely wouldn't visit again ,once was enough ....

The biscoff milkshake was absolutely stunning and one of the best I have ever had! However I have to give 3 stars as the food was nice but absolutely not worth the cost, It's almost double any other fast food chain and that's what this place is. To charge £3 for a pot of gravy is absolutely ludicrous, £6 for a tiny mac and cheese on the kids menu and over £15 quid for a burger with chips!! Any other fast food place is half the price and food just as good so I can't really see what you are paying for.

This place has fantastic service, amazing people, so friendly. Unfortunately the food wasnt as good as I expected. I ordered classic chicken I did not enjoy it. The chips were great and so were the sauces. The tenders were smaller than expected, didnt have much flavour and weren't crunchy.

Took I and my kids here to have a nice time Thursday 29th August and we ended up having food poisoning 2 days later. I dare not come back here again. We’ve been vomiting and stooling. 😓

As part of the breakfast menu, they offer different items. They didn't have most of these in stock. As they offer a bacon & egg bap on the menu and as I don't like bacon, I asked if I could have a sausage and egg bap, but they said no as its not on the menu. They could give me a plate of sausage & egg but no bap on the side either as its not allowed. If you don't have the items available, why would you not compromise on what could be offered. We didn't eat there as they couldn't offer what we wanted from what they had due to the rules. The member of staff was friendly, just couldn't help us.

I ordered plant based 3 tenders meal for £12.45 so was expecting something half decent. I’ve never tasted anything so disgusting as the plant based chicken tenders! Awful after taste, really dry and tasted like I was eating cardboard. Please go and get Quorn chicken nuggets, and serve them as these were horid. Sorry don’t usually leave reviews but felt I had to. Veggies go elsewhere. 😳

First time trying this place and everything was perfect. Clean and tidy store. Quick and friendly service, you can order from touch screens or even at your table using QR code. Milkshakes are delicious and there is a wide range of sauces to try. We would definitely return ☺️

I asked for extra cutlery and the person said we are out of stock sorry. The tables and chairs can be more clean. They clean the garbage bags in front of other people to who are trying to eat their food.

Overpriced. Restaurant was Too dark. Waited 40 mins. Food was truly awful. Tasted so bland. They didn't even have straws. First and last time.

Surprisingly good food (if you fancy a quick bite to eat after shopping til you drop) for what is essentially a glorified KFC (don't be put off by the 'blue cheese sauce' on the hot buffalo sandwich - I took a chance and couldn't taste anything of the sort! Perfect spice level when paired with their buffalo sauce 🤌🏼). However, the establishment is let down by their WC facilities! They only have individual WCs which both men and women can use which unfortunately means that they're left in somewhat undesirable states. Clearly they don't have the staff to monitor the cleanliness so I had to take my little girl 200m out of the way to use the much cleaner Cheshire Oak toilets (after having already ordered our food - good job the husband was there to man the table and look out for our order!). Not good enough!

The meals were nice, and the garlic bread is a great touch. Don’t bother selecting ‘large fries’ (which costs extra) with your meal though, because those of us who ordered large received the same amount that everyone else did. If you want more fries, it’s probably best to order them separately rather than as an add-on to the meal. Maybe it’s an Issue where the order isn’t clear when it goes through to the kitchen?

Mix the best of KFC with Nando's and you've got a fast food resto that delivers very delicious chicken that doesn't cost a bomb. Absolutely worth visiting at least once to see for yourself. I recommend the buffalo chicken wrap.

Really disappointing. Very overpriced, small portions and food was nothing special compared to the many chicken places now available. The self service screen wasn’t working and kept coming up with an error message right at the end of the order which was infuriating.

Popped in for something to eat while visiting the oaks. We had a chicken burger meal & a combo with refillable drinks. The food was OK, the chips weren't very hot & the chicken a little bit over done. Can't say I'll be returning in a hurry. The service was efficient.

Today I had the pleasure to eat at Slim Chickens the food was very tasty and the atmosphere was very pleasant , the service was of a high level with very kind staff although the location was quite crowded the staff they did their job very well ,the location was very clean I recommend everyone to try this restaurant .

I ordered crispy chicken wings. The meal looked great. Enough food to last me ages! But the chicken was all bloody and it wasn’t the best to look at. The staff was quick and honest and got me a new fresh chicken crispy wings.

Firstly thought the food was nice and the chicken was juicy to only get home and me, my partner and son throwing up to what we can only assume to be food poisoning… and if you don’t get that it will probably be something else due to the fact that I saw a member of staff open a bag of crunchie bits for the milkshakes with her teeth… so personally won’t be dining here again… and certainly won’t be recommending to anyone…

Whoever lost their phone in the disabled bathroom here Thursday 9th May (the lock screen was a picture of a little girl I think possibly in a garden) your phone has been handed to staff and is safe.

I’m a regular customer and the foods always brilliant and they have amazing, friendly staff!

Large location plenty of tables, chicken came out hot and fresh, sauces were nice with the tenders. Tenders were on the small side, the staff member seemed a little cold and fed up considering the extent of his job was putting food on the table with a smile and walking away. For the price, I wouldn’t rush back but it’s worth trying at least once to see if you like it.

The chicken tenders were tough and rubbery, I ate mine even though they weren’t enjoyable but my partner left hers and wouldn’t even allow our daughter to eat them, I didn’t have this experience on the occasion prior so must have been a bad batch of chicken, who knows? Chips just about cooked but so salty!

First time trying slim chickens, food was lovely. Was busy but staff were still efficient and friendly - Lucy was lovely and welcoming. Definitely recommend!

The chicken was very salty along with the chips. It didn't taste good at all. I wouldn't eat at this restaurant again. Service was quite slow. It took approximately fifteen minutes to get our meal. Never again shall so eat here.

Messed up my order, didn't really pay attention taking the order, food was lukewarm at best which is just not good enough enough considering the price.

Very enjoyed visiting Slim chickens yesterday for lunch. The food came out within about two minutes, was hot and tasty. The staff were very efficient & working hard cleaning the areas around us. My only complaint is that the chicken from here wasn’t my favourite I’ve ever had, it was very watery and tasted almost like it had been boiled. It was also very expensive for what you got, the food in my picture was £16.

Visited today (08.03.2024) and the food was lovely! Even better was the service; I was unable to catch the person's name, but they had face piercings. They made us feel very welcome and always paid attention to us and cleared plates when needed. Wonderful person. Thank you! The name of the individual was Annmarie*

Tastes as good as it looks. The food here is always outstanding. The service is very friendly but not always functional. Twice we have had errors with the order delivered to the table. Regardless the food is absolutely to die for. I don't think I have ever had chicken strips so good! The slim's sauce is a must. The toast with the meal is a real nice touch aslong as you don't look at the calories too hard.

Extremely expensive for the size of chicken you get extra sauce is 1.25 they use to give at least two free and last two weeks I noticed their ice maker doesn’t work also noticed chicken tender is bitter taste and little smells comes inside of the meat anyway, thats how it start with any new company when they reach the certain target they start cutting from everything

Today, I had the pleasure of dining at "Slim Chickens" located in Cheshire Oak Outlet Village, Cheshire. One of the highlights of this establishment is their commitment to serving halal food. The staff provided exceptional service, and I appreciated the convenience of both the digital self-ordering system and the traditional till. As I relaxed at my table, I was impressed by how promptly and piping hot the food was served. Additionally, the extensive selection of 14 different sauces and a variety of milkshakes added a delightful touch to the overall dining experience.

I took my children here for the first time today. What truly stood out was the impeccable service we received, especially considering my son's peanut allergy. The manager went above and beyond to ensure that my son's meal was prepared safely and free from any risk of cross-contamination. She took the time to personally oversee the entire process, reassuring us and making us feel incredibly valued as customers. Not only was the service top-notch, but the food was delicious and the restaurant was clean with a great atmosphere. Overall, I cannot recommend Slim Chickens highly enough, especially for families with food allergies. The exceptional care and attention to detail demonstrated by the manager truly set this establishment apart, and we will definitely be returning in the future.

The food here is great, the place is spotless but what makes it super special was Mariano. Our first visit here and he was so welcoming and helpful with advice on what to buy for the best. As well as this he came and checked mid meal too. ( something you never get in other 'fast food' venues). He works here with the passion of someone who owned the company. That's rare in a high traffic shop like this and he should be protected at all costs to keep that joy. Thanks to him we'll be back !
