Slim Chickens in East Devon

For a venue that prides itself on all the different dips you can have with the chicken to have absolutely zero dips is appalling! No wonder it was deserted.

Food was ok, staff are awful, chatting away and on phones, talking to friends and completely not taking care of customers. Tables filthy as staff cannot be bothered to clean them. Lied saying milkshake machine was broken then was going to refund but realised it was easier to turn back on the milkshake machine which worked fine and was just turned off so they clearly lied about this. Said they only had garlic&parmesan sauce or honey&mustard so asked for both and suddenly had no honey&mustard. No basic ketchup or mayo even, no bbq sauce or slim sauce etc 'apparently'. So I went over to the mini mart onsite to buy a bottle of ketchup so the tenders and chips weren't really dry. Got back in to sit and eat and they're giving out bbq sauce etc to people. Go to look over the food counter and as you can see in photo they had all the sauces!! And were making up more tubs with big bottles while we were in there. I have no idea why they'd lie about this! Really overpriced for what you get and the service received.

After a long drive, got to haven at 5pm and ordered delivery for 7pm. The food arrived cold, soggy and was inedible, at 7:40pm whilst I waited in Slim Chickens, my partner took in the order. I went in to ask where the food was, they said they’ve had issues with their couriers. 40 minutes late was a bit of a joke! They don’t have a number to call, nor is there any messages/calls from them saying they’re gonna be late etc. They recooked the food ‘fresh’ which was nice of them, however, we’ve spent the first day being violently ill from this food. Customer service is poor and quite frankly, I should have just left and asked for a refund. It was dead when we went in, so I’m not too sure why it took so long, food was poor, why we got sick! I would ONLY collect this for anyone who’s willing to gamble starting their holiday with puking!

This has to be the most filthy restaurant i have ever been in Mens toilets stunk to high heaven neither door in the toilets actually locked both where hanging off there hinges staff didnt give a toss Poor selection in branch no milkshakes no dips ridiculous wont be returning anytime soon

No sauce 2 days in a row. Not even ketchup.

Service wasn't exactly with a smile. Wanted the family meal deal but half the stuff was unavailable, asked if it would be replaced with something else but it wasn't. Opted for separate items on the menu, most of that was unavailable too. Eventually managed to place an order, when the food came, the fries wasn't 'seasoned' and I was missing half the chicken. Had to wait for the rest of the chicken and my order had gone cold. Will never go back.

Honestly don’t bother. Especially for delivery. 1 hour late no call nothing and then to drive down, get the delivery so soggy it’s inedible. To then be told they don’t even use haven delivery drivers.

We ordered the chicken tenders and they were easily the best we've had, much better than other chicken places! The service was great, we had it delivered straight to our table at Capones which was very handy!

Food was a bit meh to be honest , especially for £30 for 2 of us! The tenders were really chewy and rubbery, but not the be all and end all. Paid extra £1 for large fries and they wasn’t large at all. Used proper none franchise slim chickens before and they’re usually very generous with large fries but guess as this is franchised they penny pinch at any opportunity! Also unable to use my loyalty card as a result of it being a franchise I assume? The final let down was the lack of full sugar drinks as I have an allergy to aspartame which gives me bad headaches, but every soft drink on offer was sugar free or low sugar, with aspartame!

Don't ignore the negative reviews. I did and my god do I regret it. We were the only ones in there... Meal got cooked, one guy (probably the only polite one) was taking orders from new arrivals while another vanished leaving our meals sat there getting cold. I eventually went to fetch them and upon asking if it was ours one stood on her phone gave a dirty look and then I realized the order was wrong. A burger somehow became tenders... When we eventually got said burger it was actually the previously cooked tenders shoved in a bun and some absolutely not crispy fried pickles. Both them and the burger were inedible due to the overpowering taste of vinegar. Never had such a bad experience from a place. Avoid avoid avoid.

Nice food and service 1st time in this franchise definitely would eat in one of these establishments again worth checking out

STAY AWAY FOR THE ONE AT HAVEN DEVON CLIFFS. YOU HAVE TO WAIT FOR AN HOUR TO GET FOOD!!! WORST PLACE IVE EVER BEEN TOO!!!!

Over-priced & sub-par. Chicken “Tenders” somewhat optimistic description - more chewy than anything else. Shambolic service. Messed up my order (fine, it happens) but was the treated to the staff arguing about it) Dirty restaurant and dirty tables. Coke Zero was just lightly flavoured brown water. KFC does it better at half the price. If it wasn’t for the captive customer base on the holiday camp the place would be empty.

Food is amazing. Almost on par with KFC and their milkshakes are amazing too. High recommend dining here.

Awful customer service. Chatting amongst themselves and a rude attitude when asking questions around where to collect food from as its not initially obvious. Seemed very unorganised with lots of orders backing up and staff not paying attention. Manager had to come out and looked pretty frustrated. Food was OK but very expensive for what it is.

Staff didn't really seem to care about providing a good service - constantly on their phones and not putting effort into orders. The chicken was very dry and the chips were alright but could've been a little better.

Unwelcoming customer service. Staff just mucking about. Seemingly no manager present checking in on things. Chicken quite tasteless tbh and MASSIVELY overpriced even though it was edible. Tastes worse than the cheap crispy chicken you can get at any chicken shop though. The onion side was tasty though as was the Texas toast. They do have a USP by having those nice sauces but was packed the incorrect sauces in our takeaway anyway.

Today slim chickens appeared to be short staffed. There was one staff member front of house. I think their name was kayley (long hair tied up in a bun through their cap) I just wanted to highlight how great they were. They had to work the till and then run over to the hot counter to wait the tables and serve food. They were going back and fort whilst the restaurant had just opened and was very busy. They were clearly working extra hard to get everything going smoothly for the customers. All with a smile on their face and an “enjoy your meal” comment after serving. They didn’t let it overwhelm them and kept their cool. If this was my staff member, I would be very proud. They’re a credit to your restaurant and deserve a thank you.

Nice food but restaurant is absolutely filthy. Dirty floor. Tables not cleared away or cleaned. Not enough staff.

Order coleslaw absolutely tasteless Chicken burger was pink throughout Definitely not worth the money Chips was exactly like lidls skin on fries with some seasoning on top I understand company’s need to make money but what an absolute rip off for the standard of food provided

Four of us had our first Slim Chickens today. When we ordered, I was a bit surprised by the cost (I didn't know what to expect, but I thought it was a bit pricey). That said, our order arrived quickly and it was all really lovely - the milkshakes were amazing, the chicken was so tender and tasty and the seasoning on the chips made them far from bland. We were all really impressed and would definitely return.

Very quick service from ordering to table. Food hot and chips were some of the nicest chips I've eaten. Three of us had different dishes, but all said how nice it was.

Had to order at a machine, we had to sit outside as our dog was not allowed in. Took over 30 mins for our food to arrive, by which time we were frozen. They only brought out our bottomless drinks at the same time as the food, so unable to have have a drink whilst waiting. On a positive note the food was nice and tasty and the waiter very pleasant and helpful.

Took my partner for his first slim chickens and safe to say he loved it. Ordered the 7 tenders meal with a side of mac and cheese and it easily fed the both of us! Great quality food and brilliant service. Food came quickly and hot. Love it!

Food was nice. Girl that served needs a lesson in customer service. Seemed disinterested and didn't even look at me when handing items over. She was incredibly rude

Didn't end up eating and just left. No drinks. Very expensive.

First time customer. Sat and watched the shenanigans going on. Manager, supposedly,constantly touching himself in & out kitchen pulling his jeans up, showed bum on numerous occasions. Never wore gloves or washed hands. Other staff touching face, hair, mob. Couldn't care less attitude. Actually told manager to pull his trousers up. Staff badly need training on health & hygiene. Not only customer saw this and said something.

Visited twice 2nd week of September 2023. Both times the milkshake machine was broken. One time they had no onions! Chicken tastes fantastic, especially with the Honey BBQ I had.

Took 25 mins to get a chicken burger and after that the chicken was cold

ordered slim chicken to caravan accepted order once opened bags drinks were missing call reception but closed put throw to security who said can't do anything walk down to them not acceptable when at bottom of park and food would have gone cold wouldn't use again

Great food, fast service and a lovely quiet atmosphere. 100% recommend, should make more diners around the UK :)

This is very expensive it's just like kfc but alot more expensive. Food is good and shakes are nice.

Overpriced and very dry hard crispy chicken. Terrible. The chips were okay.

Hugely inflated prices for fried chicken. The buffalo chicken burger was very nice. However the chips were bang average. I witnessed them pouring bookers frozen chips straight into the fryer. ‘Crispy chicken wings’ were far from the title, soggy and mushy batter. The ‘fried pickles’ were much the same, soggy and not crispy. The staff were friendly and helpful but the wait for fast food was crazy. There are cheaper and tastier alternatives on site for a quick meal at the end of the day.

No taste to the chicken at all chips ok . Staff is like one big youth club. Staff just sat around joking around with each other. If honest Popeye's and KFC out shine this place by a mile. Very very over priced for the chicken. The place was clean I must say it's not dirty

Really enjoyed it the food was amazing and staff were really friendly with a good atmosphere would go back.

It was the end of the day so I think they were running out of stuff, but the service staff were very friendly. The food was really lovely.

Really great chicken! Loved the garlic toast too. We had this on our last night and it was so nice the chicken was excellent. Even by the time we had walked it back to the caravan it was still hot. I also had a chocolate milkshake which was really chocolatey!

Very nice food was pleasantly surprised as was the first time The young lady with dark hair that was working on March 18th was very polite and helpful and would happily return on my next visit.

Missing most the sauces from the menu, missing items from the order and the chicken was as dry as a nun. If you can go elsewhere then do it!

Really good chicken, fries and milkshake.

Wasn’t fresh at all, my food came out within 1 minute, the chicken wings were breaking up as I eat them and had obviously sat there for a long time before I purchased them. I wouldn’t recommend and I wouldn’t go back.

Very disorganized. Staff didn't appropriately direct people after ordering leaving them wondering around confused waiting for their food and it was quite over priced too. Poor value for money

First time trying Slim Chickens and it was excellent. Admittedly it's not the cheapest food available but our order came out quickly, was hot and tasted really good, the kids loved it too which is a huge bonus. All adult meals come with unlimited refills and the kids meals come with a carton of juice. An excellent addition to Haven Devon Cliffs Holiday park.
