Visited on NYE (and my birthday). Just 2 of us. Such a lovely setting, cosy and chic. Wine, Prosecco and beer all good. Bruschetta was fresh, the bread was delicious! Meatballs were also very tasty. We had a cheesy garlic bread that was a bit crispy/dry for us, others having it at nearby tables looked a lot more doughy and fresh so maybe we just got a bad one. Main course was also beautiful. The lamb was perfection! Would also like to give Charlotte a special mention. So attentive, helpful and made our experience a good one - thank you!

Excellent customer service by friendly, polite staff an absolute credit to themselves. The food was amazing and our family guest from Hawaii saying the cheesecake was the best they ever had and how nice the food was. They have requested to visit again before returning home.

We have visited this gorgeous restaurant before, so we booked and had Christmas dinner there today. A first for us to eat out on Christmas day! The food was to die for, the team were absolutely amazing. The amount of genuine care and professionalism was truly astounding. Gorgeous food, super atmosphere and what a fabulous team. Food and drink choice is excellent, there are the fan favourites for an Italian restaurant, but also a really good mix of alternative dishes. I can highly recommend the lamb shank pasta, absolutely delicious!! Service is perfectly attentive and swift, it's our new favourite in the area.

Our first visit to Sorella 14th Dec. Wow , what a surprise, from a small quiet entrance the place opened up to a bustling and inviting place It was very busy but this did not impact on the great service or fabulous food. Booked to go again next week!

Poor quality. The steak tartar was inexplicably salmon and quite fishy at that. Extremely small portion, no bread. Miniature scallops with no garnish, however the best bite of the night. Burrata the best value. Again no bread though! Even mussels which is known for sopping the broth came shockingly bread less! The rack of lamb was tender, perhaps a bit under, and would have been one of the better values if not for the sad, small, sorry state of its sides. The driest small rectangle of dauphinoise and about three pieces of kale. Pizza at £11 not terrible. Larger than I expected. But all in all I wouldn’t recommend, sadly.

Visited here on numerous occasions and cannot fault in the past . However, I was expecting the same cosy quiet evening with friends for a catch up which was ruined by several large parties of over 15 people. We couldn't hear each other think and eventually asked to moved tables, the management obliged without haste . I really don't know why they don't accommodate such loud , big parties in the conservatory to the rear of the building to maintain the restaurant vibe ? Or indeed only accept parties of up to 6 people as the building is so small. I know a lot more smaller groups seated near us felt the same as the evening was spoiled by greedy owners who put lining their pockets over a fantastic farwide reputation .

We went on a Monday night and didn’t need to book. The staff were attentive and friendly. The wine selection was great. The venue was lovely, even though it didn’t feel very authentically Italian, especially with the loud mainstream music blasting. It wouldn’t be suitable for elderly people. The food was fresh and decent. The prices were more than I would have paid for the overall experience and food.

**Review for Sorella Restaurant, Uppermill, Oldham** I recently dined at Sorella in Uppermill, Oldham, and unfortunately, my experience was far from satisfactory. I ordered the lamb orecchiette, expecting a flavorful dish, but I was quite disappointed. The dish tasted watery and surprisingly spicy, with almost no lamb flavor coming through. It was as if the main ingredient was missing altogether. My mother had the lasagne, which was even more of a letdown. It was so overly salty that it was nearly inedible. We could barely take more than a few bites before giving up on it entirely. To their credit, the staff did ask us what was wrong and offered to change our dishes. However, by the time this was suggested, the other members of our party had already finished their meals, so it felt too late to bother with a replacement. We decided to take the food home instead, but what really upset us was being charged full price for meals that were clearly not up to standard. While the service was polite, I can't say we left satisfied. Paying full price for such a disappointing experience felt unfair. I hope Sorella can take this feedback to heart and make improvements, as I would hesitate to return based on this experience.

Great food and service with a very nice atmosphere helped by the live music.One petty thing, consider removing the artificial flowers around the entrance.

Had a lovely time in Sorella seen as we have fell out with Mazzo in Royton. The food was fantastic and the service was fantastic by the lovely Joe. Definitely recommend.

Went as a party of 12 for a birthday meal. Service and food was excellent from start to finish and the price was reasonable. Would definitely go again.

Totally 5/5 amazing calamari’s so beautifully cooked flavoured and served with a huge glass of organic white which was recommended as gavi is only by the bottle Main a fillet MR with the most beautiful sauces I recommend ordering all the sauces dip in the mushrooms and chips we had greens and a stunning Caesar salad croutons were Devine and the dressing the leaves were crisp and dry and cover with authentic dressing The food was too hot to eat we had to blow it and wait so fresh and delicious We were offered dessert but we were full Thank you to Daniel who served and looked after us we left a tip well deserved Really relaxed night with oh so yummy food !! The atmosphere was very chilled

Disappointed with the customer service today trying to book a table. Their website is down so I rang up to book table of 6 next weekend for birthday, they needed to take card payment deposit so I told them card details then they said I needed to give them OTP from phone - the text literally says never give this anyone even the bank so I said no. He was not very polite and said everyone else gives it. I asked if I could come in Wednesday to sort it in person but he said he wouldn’t be able to guarantee my reservation would be available still. Forget it going to Abaco instead easy to book online no deposit. Lost out on a few hundred pound there!

I would not recoommend this restaurant. The place is lovely and very modern, but the food is awful.I was disappointed with a recent dining experience at your restaurant on 16/06/2024. During my visit, I ordered a steak, expecting the usual high quality that your establishment is known for. Unfortunately, the steak I received was severely overcooked, rendering it inedible. It was tough and dry, requiring significant effort to saw through it. It was that bad i couldnt eat it and took it home for the dog. This was particularly disappointing as I had specifically requested it to be cooked medium-rare. Instead this was taken home to feed the dog.

Wonderful meal. Visited with friends who are local. The food was excellent. The service was attentive but not overbearing. Looked after our gluten free guest which was great. Highlights were the seafood risotto and spinach and ricotta ravioli. Deserts delightful, tiramiso and creme brule. Atmosphere was perfect for a busy Friday night.

This is the second time we have been to this restaurant and on both occasions had a lovely meal and atmosphere, the staff are great even sang a happy birthday to my son which rounded off our birthday celebration.

We went here to celebrate my mother-in-law’s 60th birthday; however, the incident that occurred during our meal left us deeply disappointed and frustrated. We had to leave, and the celebration is ruined. Our waiter placed a hot metal plate dangerously close to my 10-month-old baby. Shockingly, the waiter didn't bother to inquire if it was safe to leave the hot plate there or if we preferred it to be moved to a safer location. Before we could react, my baby touched the scalding hot plate, resulting in immediate pain and distress. Despite the obvious distress caused, the waiter failed to acknowledge the incident or offer any form of apology or assistance. My husband and I were left scrambling to soothe our baby, disrupting the entire meal experience. The lack of concern for the safety and well-being of our family, particularly the youngest member, was unacceptable. We couldn't even enjoy the rest of our meal as we were preoccupied with comforting our upset baby. This incident not only ruined what was supposed to be a special celebration but also left us deeply unsettled and disappointed in the restaurant's lack of responsibility and care. As paying customers, we expect better treatment, especially when celebrating significant milestones with our loved ones.

Brought my 10 month old son in for a family birthday. An incredibly thoughtless waiter put a red hot metal plate in front of him. Babies being babies he reached out and burned his finger. In fairness to the manager on shift he did apologise but it was far too late as my son was inconsolable. There was no apology from the waiter who caused the incident. The accident book was not filled in which surely must be a health and safety issue. The day was ruined and we all left.

Food was late and cold felt like I was rushed to make way for diner's waiting waiters miserable Won't be going back pizza was cold with 2 scraps of cheese there was 27 overpriced and very bland food

Parking was not easy. Starter was great, main meal was mediocre at best. I won't be back anytime soon. Perhaps it was an off day as it was mid week.

Vegetarians / vegans beware The ceasar salad was listed on the menu as vegetarian, but the ingredients were listed as: lettuce, croutons, ANCHOVIES, salad dressing. Obvious issue with that. I ordered it without anchovies, i asked if there was also parmesan and he said yes (which wasn’t listed as an ingredient despite being a major allergen AND not vegetarian) Anyway I ordered it without parmesan and it came with parmesan When I asked for it to be sorted and when they brought it back without the parmesan i found a few chunks anyway while i was eating. I guess they couldn’t be bothered to remake a SALAD

I absolutely loved my recent meal at Sorella Uppermill! The food was fantastic. The staff were also incredibly friendly and attentive, and the atmosphere was lovely. I would definitely recommend Sorella Uppermill to anyone looking for a great dining experience in Uppermill.

Went to Sorella recently and was very dissapointed. Food was excellent, but the service was abysmal. Shoe horned into a corner and forgotten about. Been here alot in the past, as it has always been reliable. Hopefully Uppermill will get some more decent restaurants, because Sorella has become lazy and entitled. Hats off to the chef/chef's but overall experience no way near good enough for the outlay.

We gave our drinks order but had to remind the waiter as he forgot to bring them over. Starters were nice, beef carpaccio was tasty. Main courses - one of the pizzas had a big, long black hair on the top of it. We pointed this out and a new one was provided quite quickly which was good. Two of us had seafood pasta, the portions of which were disappointing. Overall, these dishes were substandard. No one at any point came to ask us how the food was. After we finished, we were left with dirty plates for 20mins. The restaurant by this time was very quiet so it wasn't as if staff were rushed off their feet and there were plenty of them about. When the waiter finally came to clear our plates, no offer of another drink, despite him taking our empty glasses. No offer of any dessert menu or coffees. We waited another 15 mins before we went to the bar and asked for the bill. Very disappointing. Unfortunately, this meal was booked for us to celebrate an 80th birthday with family. The experience wasn't great and we definitely will not be returning. I would advise people to visit elsewhere unless you want to waste your money on terrible service and just ok food.

Great place just a little over priced

A busy Friday evening and a tasty dinner using the specials menu which had halibut on a gnocchi base which was tasty and succulent. The atmosphere was good with a duo providing background music with the service staff attentive and friendly.

The restaurant was practically empty Sat afternoon. Seated us near the door to the freezing conservatory wind blowing through not great. Staff passing through from other cafe. There is no actual heating so a plugged in red hot heater was near us, very dangerous and surely not allowed. I asked for them to turn it off as it smelled strange. Waiter took my white fur coat and tried to ‘hang’ it on a hook under the bar. Not impressed I asked for my coat back I didn’t want any drinks or food spilled on it. Drinks are very expensive. There are no offers on food. We weren’t given the specials menu which was a dirty scrap piece of paper. The place feels like a cafe, but the prices are high end. Ordered lamb pasta and seafood pasta. £15 a main course far too peppery too much puree only 3 tiny pieces of lamb obviously cooked day earlier the sauce was thick and congealed. The seafood pasta was very standard and again a small portion. Of fish. Too many waiters hanging around doing nothing . Staff member sat at one of the main tables towards entrance in plain sight working and talking loudly to bar staff about personal stuff. Felt awkward not romantic on my birthday. No ambience. No atmosphere. No candle lit on table. No table cloths. I asked for water to be ignored. The massive statement bar is un stocked unused you cant sit at it. Full of dirty glasses all stacked up on end. Very untidy. We should of walked out. We paid and left. No deserts no coffee. No thank you. Not impressed. Wont be returning. One up from Wetherspoon’s for people who want to waste hard earned money.

Please don’t ever leave your coat / jacket here as you won’t get it back. Table of 16, accidentally left my jacket and was told via telephone the jacket was there (described the jacket so 100% not a miss communication) a friend went to collect and was told the jacket doesn’t exist, I hope whoever has the £50 zara jacket likes it. Based on this, I won’t return.

Freshly prepared, and authentic flavours, this is about as good as it gets…….10/10 for a kitchen and service team who deliver without fuss a good value product.

Went for a date night, and would recommend! The pan fried seabass spaghetti was delicious. The scallops were good, as was the garlic bread (which is a big portion btw). Service was excellent.

Lovely atmosphere, great decor but the food is, unfortunately, poor quality. It’s hard to believe a restaurant that gets it so right in so many ways can get the ‘main event’ so wrong! I’m no chef but I know a good pasta (and like many people, how to make one!). I ordered the Tagliatelli Al Filleto - 5oz fillet steak, baby spinach, cracked pepper cream sauce,pecorino . The pasta, which was over cooked, sat in a pool of liquid. The ‘sauce’ (more like a broth) was too wet - it slipped off the pasta. So it was like eating wet soggy pasta with no real flavour. The steak was chewy and over cooked (well, not to my taste although I wasn't asked how I wanted it cooking) The most frustrating thing about this experience is that the restaurant, at face value, appears to be offering a higher end restaurant experience compared to others in the area. I could serve a higher quality pasta in my own kitchen but tonight I didn’t want to cook - I wanted the really nice looking restaurant down the road to do it for me. Instead I paid a ridiculous amount for a pile of slop. - everyone has a bad cooking day - things go wrong, sauces can fail but if you expect me to pay for it, don’t serve it until you get it right. I’d rather wait longer for a better dish.

We booked a table for my sister in laws birthday, it was a special night as she was over from Australia and we had not seen her for three years. We booked for 7pm on a Sunday evening for 4 people. The waiter was totally uninterested in taking our order, he broke off twice to do something else before completing taking our order. During our meal there were two separate tables of employees eating in the restaurant. Bearing in mind the calibre of the restaurant and cost to dine there, I do not expect to be eating with the staff. Before we had finished eating our meal, the staff then proceeded to “deep clean” the conservatory area with extremely strong smelling chemicals, whilst we were eating our desserts. When we complained to the waiter, he said that was what they did on a Sunday evening, and was very defensive. We had to point out, not while you still have paying customers in the restaurant! The waiter did knock the cost of the desserts off the bill, but unfortunately the whole evening had been spoilt on what should have been a special occasion for us. I am not one to usually publish negative reviews, I would much rather speak to the owner direct to voice my issues but after trying and leaving messages three times, they have still not deemed it necessary to return my call! Extremely bad form and I will not be returning, nor would I recommend. Over priced for the experience we had.

I live locally to Sorella so visit a lot, despite visiting several times we are never disappointed with the services, quality of meal and vibe. The food is amazing and everyone that works there are incredible - I would 100% recommend.

One of my favourite restaurants ever! The decor, the food, the people, the atmosphere, everything is 10/10. Every meal I have had here has been beautiful and the staff can’t do enough for you and are so friendly. We went recently when the live music on and the evening was fabulous, always such a good vibe. Easily the best place to eat in Saddleworth, I’ve lived in the area for 25 years and the Lamb Agnello (rack of lamb) is the best meal I’ve ever eaten in a restaurant in Saddleworth and up there with one of the best meals I’ve ever eaten. The ambience is superb and you are waited on by professional waiters and not just students trying to make a few quid. It is also very reasonably priced with Fillet Steak at under £30. Whatever you order make sure you get a bottle of Primitivo Organic Red to wash it down. All round superb experience

Terrible experience. Deposit paid in July (supposed to be a pre authorisation to secure the booking). Rather than apologising and sorting it out, Sorella demanded evidence of this at the restaurant in person. I asked FOUR times for email address to send evidence of the...

OVER-PROMISES, UNDER-DELIVERS At £10 we expected the Beetroot Carpaccio to be pretty tasty. Sadly the beetroot didn't seem to be marinated so tasted of earth, the teaspoon of goats cheese was super-mean, and the promised fig was replaced with ONE strawberry. Had we been told figs were unavailable when we ordered, all 4 of us would have chosen something else. But we weren't. Three staff asked if everything was OK and we explained we weren't happy three times, but the staff didn't seem to know how to respond. I would have been much more assertive If it hadn't been my friend's birthday. I didn't want to make an already disappointing evening even worse. Staff training needed I think. In the meantime I recommend the Waggon instead - friendly staff, excellent food and considerably less expensive.

Having trouble getting deposit refunded. Paid £20 in advance at restaurant’s request otherwise booking automatically cancelled. Called restaurant direct to pay the £20 deposit over the phone. Messaged them today to say bill settled on Saturday didn’t take account of this. They responded with “it was a pre-authorisation, no money was taken” …..after I assured them it had, pointing out that it was at their instruction to pay a deposit direct through restaurant within 48 hours of booking or lose the booking,they then asked me to “call in to the restaurant with a bank statement proving money had been taken”(!!). I’ve asked for an email address to send my credit card statement to…still waiting for a response. Not good customer service! Make sure you check your bill as they may rely on people not noticing deposit hasn’t been factored in. Food ok, in restaurant service slow…despite it being quiet on Saturday lunchtime….think I’ll give it a miss in future!

The food! The service! The drinks! The vibe! This is the best restaurant in Uppermill by a country mile. If I could eat there every day and not put on about half my existing body weight, I absolutely would. I'd quite like to move in...

Went last night to celebrate my daughter's 18th birthday, we wanted to try somewhere different and this place did not disappoint had a live singer on who was really good. The food was lovely 😍 I would definitely go back again. If you haven't tried it then give it a try I don't think you will disappointed. It does get really busy so best of booking in advance. Thank you to all the staff.

The food here was stunning. One of the nicest pasta dishes I've ever had. Our seating was unfortunate as we were right by the door, which staff were using to go in and out of frequently. This left us both feeling chilly throughout our meal.

Visited Sorella over the recent weekend although we have been a few times previously. Decor and ambience fabulous along with pleasant staff and faultless service. The food, however, was a little underwhelming, particularly the starters. Ordered octopus starter to be told it would be squid...

My wife booked a birthday meal for me. Unfortunately she was very ill and I called to cancel only to have a rather terse response that it had already been cancelled as we’d not paid a deposit….which was not asked for upon booking by phone....

Great place but the menus is boring . No steaks , lots of pasta and pizza , I found the drinks over priced . Ordered the lamb which was great , I asked for the potatoes to be replaced by veg …… they charged me 4.50 pounds for the pleasure of having my custom. To get my custom they need to become more flexible .

Beautiful little Italian restaurant in uppermill. Great food, great service and great ambiance. Only downfall is that there are not much vegetarian options available on the menu hence the 4 stars. We would definitely return. I also recommend the aranchini balls for starters. They are delicious.

Great food, poor service Attended Saturday evening. The atmosphere was lovely to start but the music got pretty loud and wasn’t very in line with the environment, more of a beach bar vibe. The staff were dismissive. Asked for drinks twice and never received them. We were not made to feel welcome
