Spice Bay in North Tyneside

balti was bland no spice to it at all, rice was the same but the nan was nice, was all secured lovely & delivery driver was early & very pleasant.

Food was poor quality. Biriani was really dry, curry dishes were not very nice and the rice looks like food dye was used rather than spices.

very nice meal ordered quite abit due to family round . Have ordered before got no major complaints. only thing think onion bhaji was cooked to long other than that very nice meal. Was very impressed very tasty right temperature did meals next day to as was alot which I loved saving me cooking next day . Generous portion size .Once again good value for money banquet for £17 worth it .

Food is delicious I will definitley order again, just slightly disappointed it was £4.50 for sharing of pickles and only get one poppadom, other takeaways I’ve ordered from have had that item for cheaper and send about 4 poppadoms. Apart from that the food is amazing

Really lovely curry, generous persons and the best samosas! Just a shame they couldn’t provide a bit of mango chutney when charging £1.50 per popadom.

As always boiling hot, exceptionally tasty and speedy service. I’ve lived in Whitley bay all of my life and this is THE BEST Indian takeaway. The pathia is elite! 🥰

The delivery driver was incredibly dangerous, drove up our front lawn all the way to the living room window! Plenty of on street parking and we live in a cul de sac, could've just stopped in the middle of the road if he was in that much of a rush!

Always absolutely delicious from this place. I sometimes try different places and I’m never as happy as I am with Spice Bay. Ordering from them directly on their app is cheaper though, sometimes I forget that!

First time using here and food was lovely. Meat cooked well, coconut rice delish and best peshwari naan ever. Madras a little hot for me but they do vary from place to place, still really tasty though. Delivered hot and on time too. Will use again.

Ordered takeaway from here tonight and it was great. The food was hot when it arrived. Spicy dishes were indeed spicy. The dal was great (full of garlic though so worth noting if you don't, like us, love it). Delivery took about an hour (longer than quoted) and they use a lot of food dye (hence the 4 stars). Regardless, this is a reliable place for a takeaway and well worth a go. Delivery person was also great.

Over an hour late, very disappointed

Said it was dispatched and still hasn’t arrived 30mins+ later, restaurant rang me at to explain it would be 15mins later cos of a mishap but still no sign. £25 for an hour a half delivery, myself and husband ready for bed now

This is the second time now that Iv ordered a mixed starter and the lamb has been off. It’s grey inside and tastes so so awful. It absolutely stinks as well. Straight in the bin. Also the madras was bitter… whether the spices were burnt or not cooked out I’m unsure. My main concern tho is the off meat. You can’t cook away the taste of off meat. So so so gutted but this was absolutely rank. Messaged via fb but no response

Food never delivered. Ordered via their website & we rang 1hr 40mins later when our order still hadn't arrived. They were clueless as to the location of our order, eventually their driver reported having delivered it to some other address. Won't be trying again!

Ordered here many time and never a bad meal. Great tasting food and generous portions. We have moved house outside of the delivery scope and would rather collect here than get delivery elsewhere

I ordered the food at 7pm and it was due between 7:55-8:10, I received a phone call at 8pm advising it would be 15/20 minutes behind, my food arrived 1 hour later at 9pm. The food was lovely and hot still but the late delivery wasn’t ideal and the delivery driver didn’t apologise when delivering the food. Other than that the food is always lovely!

Had the munch box twice now with Bhuna sauce absolutley gorgeous!

Sadly the order was rushed tonight and they missed of all the little extras you usually get. They also sent plain chips instead of our usual garlic chips. Complete let down to the whole meal!

Honestly.nwver disappoints the kebabs are out this world the salad is so crispy everything u want so fresh, would never go any where else

Everything was Luke warm the cauliflower bahgi was mush

Big portions and lots of flavour. The speciality curries are lovely, working my way through the menu. Achari chicken and honey lapiaza lamb are favourites. Only criticism I never enjoy the tandoori prawns- watery, and not much meat on the lamb chop. I wouldn’t order from anywhere else though as it’s always a nice meal from here.

Can't fault it,rich sauces,clean oil for the poppadoms and samosa,excellent salad and yogurt. Tremendous portions and flavours. Highly recommended, compliments to the chefs.

Unfortunately this is the third and last poor quality meal that I’ll be ordering from here. This used to be our go-to takeaway but the standard of the food over the last few months has steadily declined.

Since changing to JustEat drivers the food quality has been impacted. The naan turns up chewy and the condiments and salad are warm, all from being put into a sweaty cool bag. It’s a marked negative change.

Ordered for a number of years. This time the chicken in both dishes was off. Tasted disgusting, 1 dish tasted of fish (could of been contamination, more likely it was just off as in my experience chicken that's turned smells and tastes a bit like fish) second dish tasted and looked nothing like chicken. Very poor and not worth the risk ever again.

Great food as always. Although the food was delivered in a cool bag which meant the cold items had gone warm, which isn’t great with salad or youghurt and the naan had gone tough.

Great little takeout - recommend the munch box, great value for money. Not rated atmosphere as it's take out only...looks a bit of a dinge but the food more than makes up for it.

I've been a customer for many years, but today's food was not it. The chips were like rocks, the spice kebab had almost no meat, my peshwari naan had no peshwari, and the poppadoms tasted burnt. The price increases over the years haven't gone unnoticed. Also, do you no longer get that green sauce with the banquet? I haven't received it the last THREE times I ordered.

Ordered 19:06 delivered 21:40 after phone calls to chase up. Food wasn't the best. Ordered 5 poppadoms, 2 poppadoms arrived with 3 shop bought style poppadoms?! Think a refund is in order to be honest, worst indian takeaway I've ordered for a long time. Not good enough for the price.

Received notification that driver was on way over an hour late contacted the restaurant to be told my order was not yet ready..no recompense offered by restaurant and told food would be with me in 15 minutes...it wasn't.
