Located at the entrance of china town, close by Leicester Square, this restaurant is placed just before you cross under the opposing china town arch entrance. Staff are welcoming and placed us at a table overlooking the front of the premises. Tables were well dressed and a full explanation of each menu available was given. Staff are extremely inventive and quick to replace dirty plates or empty dishes. Food is served in good time and hot. Portion sizes are large, and although the set menu dishes may seem pricey on the outset, portion size and quality soon tell you what you’re paying for. There are plenty of options available and a range of set menu offers given a broad choices of menu dishes. This goes without saying that this is one of the best Chinese restaurants around and you won’t be disappointed

Went here again for the second time, been a few years since we last visited. Food was nice all be it a little expensive! But London and location might have a part in that? Slow in taking orders and it wasn’t busy at all (1pm) Food was quick to the table and nice, not as nice as I recall, and the bill Now includes the 12.5% charge!! So unfortunately we never left a tip!! The tables are showing signs of wear on the tops. Will now explore And find another rest to try when we’re next in town .

This has been my favourite address for dim sum in Chinatown for some time. My test dishes for dim sum are har gao and beef hor fun. The har gao and prawn cheung fun contain large chunks of whole shrimp and no bamboo filler, unlike some places that use a fine mince made from scraps. Their hor fun has plenty of wok hei, or smokey flavour from the noodles catching on flames that is only possible when wokked at a very high temperature. This effect is impossible to achieve at home on a domestic burner. They don't take reservations at weekends during daytime, so if you want to avoid the queues go for dim sum right at 12:00 or after 15:30. Last order from the daytime dim sum menu is around 16:45. Normally I would categorize the service as typical of Chinatown: namely, surly but efficient. However, today we arrived at 16:00 when the restaurant was near empty and service was actually helpful and attentive as well as being efficient. They brought chilli sauce, chilli oil, soy and vinegar which you normally have to ask for at peak times. And our teapot was continually refilled without having to ask, which would have unheard of at peak times. They are modestly priced. Most of the steamed dim sum is £5.80 for three pieces--even the scallop dumplings. I would recommend ordering the har gao (prawn crystal dumplings), shiao long bao (Shanghai pork soup dumplings), prawn cheung fun, and lor bak gao (Cantonesen turnip cake). The less common dishes that I like are the taro croquettes, the fried bean curd skin coated prawn rolls, and mushroom dumplings. If you're very hungry the beef hor fun is more substantial, as is #420 from the regular menu, which is minced prawn stuffed aubergine, green peppers and tofu. This is a large portion of what is often considered a dim sum dish. When deciding how much to order, count either as 3 plates of dim sum. Our waitress suggested ordering 4 dim dishes per person. The last photo shows the order form for daytime dim sum including current prices and our order of 12 dishes for three hungry people. You can cross reference numbers from the dim sum menu if you don't read Chinese.

This restaurant’s food is OK but no better than average for the restaurants in the area. It’s more expensive than average and the service is appalling. As soon as you arrive they are trying to rush you out. Avoid at all costs if you want a leisurely meal. If you want a quick, but overpriced pre-theatre dinner it would be very suitable.

I imagine the food would be good and fine for most, but my Chinese parents were not impressed. So maybe not the most authentic, but it was good quality food, and I enjoyed the meal myself. In particular the jellyfish and chicken cold starter 海哲鸡丝 and the 牛腩煲 were my favorites, and the mixed dimsum was nice.

One of the worst chinese food i had in a long time. We had the platter for two. Shrimp toast was just fried bread dunk in oil. Not edible. The chicken was dry and the crispy beef was crispy. So crispy i couldnt tell if there was actually meat in it. Also it was all served cold. The only edible dish were the steamed dim sum which were also overcooked and mushy. Horrible food. Never again.

Very disappointed when dining here recently that a 12.5% ‘dine in fee’ was added to my bill. Seems like a sneaky extra charge - perhaps not labelled as ‘service charge’ so that it doesn’t have to go to wait staff? I will not be returning, poor value overall and feels greedy.

We picked one of the many Chinese restaurant options in Chinatown by random. We opted for the set meal which had a great variety of really tasty dishes including chicken and prawn, as well as duck pancakes. All for a good price. Came here as a recommendation on TikTok. Their dim sum menu is quite vast but I personally think there are better places for dim sum. Some of the selection was just not to my taste but it is a decent place to visit. I personally recommend their main menu selection as the curry Ho fun we had was really good. For their dim sum, the standard things like har gao were good but I felt like the other things were lacking especially since some things felt lukewarm but maybe it was just the day I came. Price wise, it is a pretty affordable dim sum place for London.

The price-quality ratio was way off. We started with deep-fried veggies, which were okay. For the main course, we had chicken hotpot with rice and shrimp with veggies and rice. The hotpot wasn’t hot, the chicken was tough, and the flavor was way too sweet. The other dish was completely bland—we had to ask for chili sauce just to get some taste. On top of that, the waiter brought us the bill out of nowhere after just an hour, even though we had booked the table for a longer time and the place wasn’t even busy. Honestly, I have no idea how this place has so many four- and five-star reviews.

When in Europe, you have to lower your expectations for Asian food, or be prepared to spend a lot of money. For London, this was a perfectly acceptable dim sum experience, especially in Soho. The majority of Chinatown caters to tourists and white people, and this isn't a lot different. However, when we visited, everyone inside was Asian, which is a good sign. Even single people having a quick lunch. I'd been dying for dim sum for months since it is unavilable where I currently live. We have tried many of the restaurants in Chintatown and none have been particularly good. So, this was just a spontaneous choice as it didn't seem very full of people and the menu was what we were hoping for. Service was good; very friendly. Food came quickly and without any issues. All the food was mostly good. The fried rice was flavourful, the beef cheung fun were large and filled the exact amount I like, and the char siu so were excellent. The scallop dumplings were pretty bland unfortunately, and the har gow was mediocre according to my wife. I wanted to have the wu gok (it is my favourite) but for some reason here they put shrimp in it, and I really hate prawns. Prices are on the higher end, which was somewhat expected. It was acceptable dim sum for London. I would probably return if I am in Soho and craving some.

The only thing that pleased us about this restaurant was that there were free seats at 14.15. We were quickly seated and brought menus and water. The portions are tiny, the chicken soup with mushrooms was about half a glass, half of which was onions and carrots. Although the soup itself was delicious. Beef dumplings made a strange impression; the dough in them was separate from the meat and lay like a ribbon next to it. The portion is again tiny. The service was fast but unfriendly.

My favourite chinese restaurant in London - previously called “jade garden”. Dim sum menu is extensive. Only 8 (fried/steam) dishes are vegan - so it can feel rather tedious. But there are plenty of other plant based dishes if you like spicy food or want to order something with rice or noodles. The service is super fast- the servers are helpful. The bathroom is very narrow and busy to get to and from. It is children friendly. Quietest time without queue is 12-12.40pm and after 3.30pm-5pm for dim sum menu. Menus are displayed in both chinese and English I would recommend this restaurant to everyone. The food is authentic and well cooked. The best dim sum location in China town. Not wheelchair friendly (definitely not - bathroom wise)

I had the pleasure of dining at Orient London in Piccadilly, and the experience was nothing short of spectacular. From the moment we walked in, the staff greeted us with warmth and friendliness, making us feel instantly welcome. The flavors were well-balanced, authentic, and utterly delicious. The menu boasts a wide variety of dishes that showcase the best of traditional Chinese cuisine, with a modern twist that makes it even more appealing. It’s clear that Orient London is not just about offering delicious food, but about providing a complete dining experience, with a cozy atmosphere and impeccable service. It’s a place I will undoubtedly return to, and I highly recommend it to anyone looking for a first-class dining experience in the heart of London.

Orient London is a true culinary gem in the heart of the capital, offering a dining experience that fuses the best of Chinese cuisine with a contemporary twist. From the moment you walk in, the warm and elegant atmosphere envelops you, setting you up for a memorable evening. The menu is a masterpiece that stands out for its authenticity and variety. Each dish is carefully prepared with fresh, high-quality ingredients. Dim sum is a must: delicate, perfectly cooked and impeccably presented. Among the main dishes, the crispy Peking-style duck is simply exquisite, with crispy golden skin and juicy meat that melts in your mouth. Service is another of the Orient London's strong points. The staff is friendly, attentive and always willing to offer recommendations based on the diner's preferences. Plus, their knowledge of the dishes is impressive, which adds a personalized touch to the experience. The restaurant's decoration combines traditional with modern, creating a sophisticated but cozy atmosphere, ideal for both an intimate dinner and a special group occasion. The location is excellent, making it a perfect destination for both locals and visitors looking for an authentic Chinese experience in London. In short, Orient London is more than a Chinese restaurant, it is a culinary destination that takes you on a journey through the authentic flavors of China, while continuing to surprise with contemporary touches. One of the many restaurants in Chinatown. It's not an impressive taste, but it's a stable taste that never fails. I ordered from the waiter in Chinese, but he answered in English.

Really delicious and varied menu، in the heart of China Town but big enough to accommodate large families or work group outings!

Not as advertised!! Only a few dumplings available. Tried the prawn dumplings - not cooked thoroughly and pik buns had hardly any meat in. Beer out of stock apart from one type. Staff unfriendly

Rotton. Food arrived in about 2 minutes, basically just microwaved. Tasteless, both me and my partner felt ill after eating it. Temperature of all dishes was different. Staff seemed to do everything in their power to rush you out.

Worst service I've ever had in London. I've never felt like a restaurant wanted people to so bad.. and food was very basic. Don't bother with this place

Absolutely shocking service Food was sub par but really can not get over the attitude of the staff. As someone who dines out most nights and has done so in the last 4 weeks travelling this next to the larch at sky garden have both even met with a grave disappointment if you don't want to work don't let people walk in your doors. Strongly recommend anyone reading this review to take caution and go somewhere else it's not worth the money nor time. Mcdonalds workers have treated me with more respect and a smile and to be honest I bloody well wish that I'd got a dirty cheeseburger than to have a waitress roll her eyes and throw the food down on the table with a huff. The comment of "one more hour" as were paying the bill. I couldn't get out of there quick enough .

Very impolite and unethical staff there. They open late but a staff pushed customer queuing and closing umbrella to enter. And said very bad words. Absolutely no confidence on this restaurant what those unethical staff made for customers. Worse restaurant staff ever met in the world in this restaurant!

Food was ok. The seaweed was very very salty. The scallops with asparagus had no taste, completely bland. Singapore noodles were lovely and a huge portion. The rice was good and so was the sweet and sour chicken Cantonese style. Service was ok apart from one person who acted like he couldn’t be bothered with us. Great location, lots to see out of the window and ideal for Leicester Square/Piccadilly. Reasonably priced for where it is. I’d go there again.

The service is very good and the price-performance ratio is pretty good. For snacks, I highly recommend the black pepper chicken feet (salty and slightly spicy), steamed siomai with crab roe (fresh!), and the Thai boneless chicken feet are also delicious, spicy and sour to appetize. There are three types of siu mei, suitable for those who have difficulty choosing!

As it says in the title, this is the place to bear when it comes to authentic and deliciously made bubble tea. The service is always fast and I don’t think I can emphasise just how wonderful the drinks are. You get a lot of drink for what you buy plus there is just something special about the presentation of the drink and the way it is made that stays in your mind long after you finish the bubble tea. I particularly recommend the fruit teas, with some drinks it comes with fresh fruit in the drink that you can eat after! Always refreshing and sweet
