We had a giant peanut cookie each, which were the best that we have ever tasted. We had a great tasting latte each and experienced excellent customer service. Comfy seating too!

I ordered and paid for a cake (£42 for the cake + £10 delivery) for my wife's 53rd Birthday. I ordered it, well in advance, to arrive on a Friday ready for the Saturday, and family party for the weekend. I received a receipt by email confirming arrangements. We stayed in all Friday and it didn't arrive, called at the end of the day, left a message, and did the same the following day, thinking it would arrive No response. The result NO cake for my wife's birthday. On the Sunday, I received a text message "it may seem odd but when do you want your caked delivered". I responded immediately “…as per the order for Friday…”. On the Monday, I got another text apologising, asking if I wanted a refund or the cake (by now a minimum of four days old). I had to explain I wanted a refund, and I would have thought a cake at a minimum as apology. I later received the refund, but never the courtesy of a phone call. Customer service appalling!! Pick up the phone, and explain why it didn’t arrive, don’t hide behind a text! What very little care or empathy for my wife’s birthday. I used to go to the shop and order/pick up cakes when they had a physical store in Brixton. Now they are on-line only, but if the cake doesn’t arrive for a special occasion…what’s the point!! I won’t be buying from them again and would not recommend them. Why take the risk for such a special occasion!

Mi hija encargó un pastel para el Día del Padre que se entregó ayer estropeado. Mi hija se quejó y el dueño fue muy grosero y la acusó de dañar el pastel, lo cual no es cierto. Está claro por el daño que el pastel se cayó del asiento del automóvil o se deslizó en el maletero del conductor. Me comuniqué con el propietario y su respuesta fue menos que satisfactoria y todavía estaba acusando a mi hija de dañar el pastel y luego me preguntó "¿qué debería haber hecho?" Me sorprende que el propietario de una empresa no sepa cómo tratar las quejas de los clientes de manera adecuada. He sido cliente durante muchos años y me sorprende que, como empresa local que depende del boca a boca y de las buenas críticas, se contente con tratar a los clientes de esta manera. Lamentablemente, mi familia y amigos no volverán a comprarle a esta mujer; nos ceñiremos a negocios más profesionales, como el boca a boca, que es increíble, educado y profesional. Soy un defensor del apoyo a las empresas locales, pero esta empresa ya NO recibirá mi apoyo. ¡Cuidado! ! !

Organizamos una fiesta de cumpleaños virtual de última hora para nuestra hija y queríamos que todos comieran un pastel al mismo tiempo a pesar del encierro. Sponge and Cream tomó el desafío y entregó a tiempo una selección de degustación de hermosos y sabrosos mini cupcakes. Gran servicio, gran producto. Muy recomendable

A perfect chocolate cake was supplied, really tasty and moist. Decorated beautifully. Staff were really helpful when I was ordering my celebration cake. Great price. Prompt/easy delivery. I would totally recommended this cake shop and use them again.

Well first of all i have used Sponge and cream for some years now and can not believe how I was treated first of all i ordered a number 18 cake and the number 8 looked like a zero not only that the cake looked so plain it looked like a cake for a 3 year old plus i didn't ask for fondant i asked for butter cream also the cake was very dry it was red velvet. I was so disappointed I couldn't even put it on display, I called the manager to ask her if there was anything she could do as I have already paid my full amount for the cake and she said no she can only refund me on my card of £15 but I will also have to come to the shop. I had to go and find another cake shop that saved the day by the way to get a cake for my daughters 18th birthday party. The manger lady who I have delt with for years and promoted her shop over the years handled me so cold it was not about the money it was about how her whole customer service she just didn't care I will never go back there.

Delivery Service is awfully bad. Paid for the delivery and the birthday cake and had it delivered but they could not even wait for a few minutes. Worse thing is they don’t contact the number you leave for them to call. They simply just cancel you order and that’s it.

Maria and the team at Sponge and Cream made a brilliant birthday cake for my friend's 60th birthday. I gave them an example of one I'd seen that I like with a schnauzer face and they copied it really well. It was also delicious and was the star of the evening - along with my friend, who loved it!

Small little shop, with the best carrot cake I ever had. Coconut with Lemon curd and the loaf are other of my favorites. Absolutely recommend! From birthday to wedding cakes, this is the place! :D

Por lo general, recibo mis pasteles de Hummingbird, pero pensé que probaría un lugar diferente y convenientemente más local. Pedí el pastel de terciopelo rojo con queso crema fresco y wow fue increíble, tres capas de esponja de terciopelo rojo húmedo con la mejor crema helada que he probado en mi vida. Fue un éxito absoluto para mi fiesta de cumpleaños, he referido a muchos de mis amigos aquí y ordenaré otro pastel para Navidad. Así que si, como yo, no está seguro si apostar, puedo confirmar audazmente que Sponge y Cream son una victoria definitiva.

Paulina & the team at Sponge & Cream made an amazing cake for my parents wedding anniversary and brother's graduation party on Saturday and the cake couldn't have been more perfect. We ordered the cake using their online cake builder service, and it was there waiting for us in the fridge on one of the hottest days of the year. We had the raspberry sandwich cake (the best of both worlds with a Victoria sponge sandwiched between chocolate cake) and it was so delicious. It went down a treat at the party.We will definitely be ordering from you again! Thank you again.

The shop has a choice of 6 or 7 cakes normally, and at ~£4 for big slice it's really good value! Some of the best cake I've ever had!!!! =)

Nos estábamos quedando sin tiempo para encontrar un panadero para la primera fiesta de cumpleaños de nuestra hija, y con menos de una semana hasta el día en que Paulina aceptó la cocción con solo un dibujo y creó una obra maestra absoluta. Tres sabores, fresa y vainilla y chocolate, el chocolate con una crema de mantequilla oreo aplastado cubierto con una hermosa crema de mantequilla esponjosa y decorado con recuerdos; Rose Bush, Pocket Watch, Mushroom y Alice de Alicia en el país de las maravillas. Esta crítica y todas las demás no felicitan a Paulina, a su equipo y a su panadería de la manera en que merecen ser felicitados, fue una torta increíble y estamos muy agradecidos por ello, ¡ya que trajo todo el día juntos! Thank you Paulina for making a fantastic birthday cake that looked even more amazing than the picture provided. The intricate detail far surpassed expectations. The chocolate cake was rich and fabulous. If you don’t believe me visit the shop and sample some of the delights!

As I write this review for sponge and cream I am immediately transported to just over a week ago (Sunday 25th June) when I received the delivery of my daughters 3rd birthday cake to our home - 2 hours before her birthday party as planned. As I placed the giant white cake box on our kitchen counter, I was excited - having emailed Paulina a few days before with my cake requirements and then having a brief telephone conversation to confirm details I knew the cake would be lovely. But it was not just lovely...it was SPECTACULAR!! Everything I imagined and more! A generous sized cake, I was able to give our guests good portions (some even asked for a bit more to take home) and we were still eating cake at home on the Wednesday. Aside from the beauitful exterior which Paulina executed perfectly the bottom tier interior was a rainbow sponge cake and the top tier a banana cake (sprinkled with the hundreds ans thousands). It looked and tasted beautiful..

This shop sells the most amazing cakes. The taste, texture and style are melt in the mouth delicious. Started buying cakes from Paulina about five years ago when she had a stall in Brixton Village and was delighted when she got a shop. The red velvet cake and the chocolate cake are my favourites and many birthday cakes for friends and family have been bought over the years from here. I recently bought my manager a red velvet cake for her birthday and everyone in the office was so impressed that a colleague took the details there and then from me and ordered a cake for her daughter's 21st birthday; which went down a storm!!You need to taste these cakes if you haven't already, you're missing out!!!

Located in the Brixton village, this little cake shop is the best hidden gem in London. The cakes are the best I have ever tasted, they are lovely and moist and they taste as light as air. They are decorated beautifully and are very reasonably priced. I ordered my friends wedding cake on a Monday and they were able to have it ready for me on the Friday. They are extremely helpful and reliable, I could not recommend this company more highly.

Use to get my red velvet cake at Hummingbirds now I get it from here. Have ordered birthday cakes from S&C as well and they are all consistently superb.

Every single cake in here is delicious and they all look absolutely amazing. I can recommend every single one and would honestly tell everyone to try cake from there. You will want the whole cake! Hunky recommend the banana cake, carrot cake, red velvet, chocolate one and there's a raspberry chocolate one which is a must also. After 16 years in London I have learnt to love England but not its bakery or patisserie! Sponge and Cream is the only British Bakery we buy cakes. We prefer the French ones. But having discovered Sponge and Cream near our home has been fabulous. Their cakes are delicious and we all love them! Yummy mummy ........ And the coffee and muffins are really good!

I love Sponge and Cream. There, I said it. They've been my go-to cake shop for three years, and sometimes I even branch out from the banana cake with brownie icing. Sometimes (truly, it's amazing, try it.)AND they have expertly catered my charity's first and second birthdays with exquisite three tier cakes and hundreds of cupcakes all made rush order. If you're having a party, their cakes will blow the socks of your guests.

I first discovered sponge and cream whilst browsing in Brixton village about 3/4 years ago... I had time to kill and decided to sit down and try a slice of the red velvet! After having a mouthgasm I ordered a cake on the spot for a family birthday, ever since then I only use sponge and cream even though living quite a distance away in Kent. The staff are always polite and the owner will do everything she can to satisfy you... anyone who has tried one of the cakes always asks where I bought it from. I have had 3 Birthday Cakes and a 4 tier Wedding Cake made by Sponge and Cream and all have been superb. The Wedding cake was all eaten on the day and guests wanted more! I have been impressed by the high quality of the cakes and courteous service from the staff. The proprietor provides great advice about cake design and always aims to please. I will not go anywhere else!

I ordered my son's birthday cake last year. It was all last minute but they accommodated me by adjusting what they could deliver in the short time. We wanted the rainbow cake but ended up with less layers. The boys loved it and it was delicious and looked beautiful! Will always use for special occasions now .

I have never actually been or purchased from sponge and cream but I have eaten many slices of her red velvet cake! A friend of mine swears by this cake shop and is a regular red velvet cake buyer. Very moist and delicious, even my son who doesn't have a sweet tooth loves this cake.

We were lucky enough to have a box of assorted cupcakes from here from some friends following the birth of our son. They were beautifully iced and tasted even better- seriously the best cupcakes we've ever tried! All our visitors agreed. I think my favourite was the red velvet one ;) we will definitely be sampling some more delights from here in the near future.

I've been meaning to write this for a while now. I had my birthday in November and my partner arranged a banana cake from your store which was then delivered to our place in Clapham. We had 8 people over at the time for some drinks and everybody tried the cake too. It was by far the tastiest cake any of us have had in London. Perfectly moist too, with excellent texture. The icing was fantastic, not too rich. Everybody agreed. Easily my favorite cake finished to a perfect standard, packaged and presented very well. By the way it was a complete surprise as I wasn't told in advance that it was coming and as it turns out a very welcome one. Next time I'd like to try out with a dark chocolate icing on it to compare.Highly recommended. Easily 1st place in my books. Struggling to think of what even approaches 2nd place, and I've tried a lot of different cakes at a whole load of different places which usually end up a bit generic tasting or too dry.

I love this bakery! Ever since I moved to Brixton a few years ago I have been going here most weekends to pick up a cake or biscuit to enjoy with a pot of tea at home. If you don't live close by, it also has a small seating area (three tables of 2) and serves hot drinks so you could eat there. My favourites are the Red Velvet / or Oreo cupcakes and the amazing chocolate and raspberry cake. But the cookies and brownies are also delicious. I often take their cupcakes on visits to friends and everyone always raves about them! Especially when they do themed ones - like Halloween and Christmas. I dread to think how much I have spent at this place over the years but I don't regret a penny!

Not too sweet,just perfect.Who ever had the pleasure of having a piece of my cake couldn't help but have another slice. Well done 'Sponge and Cream'... highly recommended.
