St. Paul’s Cathedral is an awe-inspiring masterpiece that stands as one of London’s most iconic landmarks. Located at the highest point in the City of London, its majestic dome dominates the skyline and is visible from miles around. The cathedral’s grand façade, designed by Sir Christopher Wren after the Great Fire of London in 1666, is a perfect blend of classical and Baroque architecture, making it a true architectural gem. Upon entering, visitors are greeted by the vast, open space of the nave, which is both humbling and breathtaking. The interior is filled with intricate mosaics, elegant columns, and soaring arches, all of which contribute to the sense of grandeur. The high altar, with its detailed carvings and golden accents, is a particularly striking feature, while the Whispering Gallery offers a unique acoustical experience where even the softest whispers can be heard across the dome.

The carols and services held at this cathedral are commendable, and the architecture is undeniably awe-inspiring. However, the experience is marred by the conduct of some staff members, better training is surely needed. It is truly disappointing to witness such behaviour in a place of worship that should embody fairness and respect. I attended the Evensong service several times and returned tonight with a friend before the new year. During the service, there was constant disruption from people walking around, leaving, and even taking photos and filming—activities that clearly interfere with those trying to pray. Despite this, the staff failed to address these disruptions even these all happened next to them. After the service, we stayed respectfully until the end and I wanted to show my friend the impressive front of the hall. Unfortunately, a staff member stopped us, stating, "the service is finished." We respected this rule and were about to leave, but then saw others walking freely to the front, some even chatting with staff who responded warmly and allowed them to proceed. Confused, we moved to the other side to see if we could follow, only to be stopped again. When we enquired why others were permitted while we were not, the response was dismissive: "People may go to the front for a reason, but we can't let you do that just to have a look." This inconsistency in treatment is unacceptable. We understand the cathedral has rules, and they should apply equally to everyone. It is baffling why tourists blatantly taking photos—a behaviour that should be prohibited—were allowed to proceed, while we, behaving respectfully, were denied. If the staff aim to preserve the sanctity of the cathedral, their focus should be on maintaining order during services and preventing filming and photography. We respect this cathedral, its services, and its sacred mission. We made a donation upon entering as a gesture of goodwill. Yet the staff's discriminatory and dismissive behaviour left us feeling undervalued and insulted. It’s deeply troubling that such conduct could occur in a place dedicated to fairness and compassion. As someone educated in a Church of England school for much of my life, I’ve always seen respect and kindness as central to church values. The behaviour we experienced here contradicts these principles. Prejudice has no place in a church that should embody equality and love for all. This review is not an attack on the cathedral itself, which remains a place of great beauty and reverence, but a call for reflection and improvement in staff conduct. Let this not tarnish the sacredness of this place. God bless all who seek Him with honesty and fairness.

When I visited at 9:30, there was a choir singing hymns since it was Sunday. It was a beautiful and solemn singing voice. I sat there and listened for a while. Once you exit and enter from the side, you will find a shop and a toilet in the basement. The shop was relatively inexpensive. The basement is warm and there are benches so tired people can take a break. I also heard hymns. I had heard that I could climb the tower on weekdays, but it happened to be a Sunday, so I was disappointed.

St. Paul’s Cathedral is an architectural masterpiece and one of London’s most awe-inspiring landmarks. With its iconic dome dominating the city skyline, it’s a must-visit for history buffs, architecture lovers, and anyone seeking a serene and spiritual experience. Highlights: The Magnificent Dome The dome of St. Paul’s is breathtaking both inside and out. Climbing to the top is a rewarding experience, offering stunning views of London from the Golden Gallery. The climb is a bit steep, but the panoramic views make it worth the effort. The Whispering Gallery Inside the dome, the Whispering Gallery is a fascinating feature where sound travels around the curved walls. Whisper into the wall, and someone on the opposite side can hear you clearly—a fun and unique experience. The Interior The cathedral’s interior is absolutely stunning, with intricate mosaics, beautiful stained-glass windows, and ornate carvings. The high ceilings and spiritual ambiance make it a place of reflection and awe. The Crypt The crypt houses the tombs of notable figures such as Admiral Lord Nelson and the Duke of Wellington. It’s a quiet and humbling part of the cathedral, rich with history. The Churchyard and Gardens Surrounding the cathedral are peaceful gardens where you can relax and take in the majestic view of the structure.

Today I visited to listen to carols in the morning. Although it is not as grand or gigantic as the Vatican Cathedral, its internal structure, with its unique British delicacy, is impressive. Sir Christopher Wren's genius architectural skills. It is also a place where you can study British history, including the tomb of Admiral Nelson, a symbol of indomitability that survived the Great Air Raid in World War II. The murals on the dome and the Whispering Gallery that you can see as you go up the long corridor. There is a lot to enjoy if you stay for more than two hours.
