What a lovely pub find round the backstreets of the Old Vic (I think). Lovely inside too. Just stopped for a drink but they do do food.

Four of us called in here on Friday 29th May 2015 before visit to Theatre opposite. Great Greek style meals and quick service, reasonable prices. Very good experience and highly recommend!

Nice little pub just around the corner from where we were staying. We didn't try the food the the menu looked tempting & more importantly (for me) the had a good selection of Real Ales.

A nice old fashioned pub round the back of the Old Vic. Staff friendly, drinks fine. Nice atmosphere with people just enjoying themselves (apart from man getting beaten playing pool ). Worth a small detour.

On Saturday (18/02/2012) , we spent the day in London and decided to stop off at the STAGE Door for lunch. We have eaten here before (my wife and I) and had spent a really great afternoon there. However, a different story when we returned with our 2 ½ year old and 4 month baby. The owner was very offish, and when I was trying to find a place to put the stroller so it would be out of everyone’s way, he snapped at us and offered no suggestion as to where we could put it. There was no offer of a baby chair, and in fact the way we were treated by the person who seemed to be in charge (owner) we were happy to leave as soon as we could. That being said, the food was fairy good.

🚇 Angel 🍺 £6.50 Pravha The Harlequin is located on a quiet street at the back of Sadler’s Wells Theatre in Clerkenwell. The nearest Tube is Angel in Islington. Prior to becoming a pub, this terraced house was built in 1822 and was the former home to a baker and then a lithographer. In 1848 the house was converted to a beer shop and has remained a Free house ever since. Brian Reader, mastermind of the infamous Hatton Garden hole in the wall gang lived for a while with the landlady in the flat upstairs. This is cosy and intimate one bar pub that has a rustic and homely feel. The servery is located on the right hand side and is clad in beach washed panels. The decor consists of burnt orange walls with more panelling below, a bare boarded floor and some ornate chandeliers. There are some nice touches, like the fireplace, Sadlers Wells advertisements and the piano located at the back. Considering the size of the pub, there is ample seating plus plenty of stools huddled around the bar. At the rear of the pub is a Secret Garden which is covered in flora and fauna. The beer line up is good and included some craft ipa’s and cask ale. I decided on a Pravha, my pint was spot on, price point was above average. If you’re feeling peckish, there is a bar snacks menu consisting of Cheeseboards, Bastides Saucissons Secs and Pinchos. I arrived around 6pm for an afterwork pint on a Friday evening in April. The pub was fairly busy with local punters and a few visitors to the area. The atmosphere was convivial and relaxed with a soothing soundtrack playing in the background. The service was excellent, the team member who served me was welcoming and friendly. Visiting @theharlequin1848 has to be one of my most chilled and relaxing pub experiences ever. This pub environment is calming and seductive which makes it easy to settle into. I loved architecture and history, the beer choice was good, there are nice local pub vibes and the hospitality is on point. Maybe not one for the traditionalist but If you’re on a date on just want a chat with a mate, then this is the ideal spot. 📅 19th April 2024 More London Pub info @londonpubmap 🍻

We had the braised beef short rib, and we came back the next day for that again. Best piece of meat I had in ages, it's really that good.

Great atmosphere at this place. We had a main course and dessert. The main course was great, the fish & chips were luxurious, the batter was amazing and the portion was huge, enough for two people. Butter chicken was more spicy, but the Indian food is. Desserts chocolate fondant and sticky toffee were both incredibly delicious. We are taking one star off the service because we were full and they walked around us for quite a long time and even though they knew it, they only brought our food after a long pause. Thank you for a nice evening and delicious food.
