Starbucks in Colchester

absolutely horrible coffee, cleanliness is shocking. order a caramel frappe and found a long hair in it. will never return to this starbucks. toilets are disgusting with poo up the back of the toilets. staff were extremely rude and unprofessional, standing on their phones behind the bar not paying any attention to customers. do not go to this starbucks!!

the drinks were cold the workers were chatting away while i was waiting to order for about 5 minutes the tables were sticky and the drink was poor, it was cold and didn’t even taste like they had put syrup in it also the toilets were disgusting and had a very unpleasant smell

Coffee was cold cappuccino had no foam no chocolate sprinkles i specifically asked for it.Staff were ignorant and rude when i asked them to remake it very politely. I feel as if i was targeted because i was with my lesbian parents.

Inappropriate behaviour from staff made me feel very uncomfortable and made me feel like I owed them something? Also, the cleanliness of the staff are questionable? Why are there aprons always so dirty and you walk past them and it smells a bit like sick?

The staff are utterly rude and have no idea how to deal with the public there attitude is worse then there coffee

Terrible coffee it was cold the staff were ignorant and rude I tried to tell them about my allergies and they basically ignored it the toilets were disgraceful the floor was sticky and gross will not be revisiting

Was a real shame going into this Starbucks. Ordered a toastie and a pistachio latte to takeaway, unfortunately as I was stood waiting I saw the girl prepping my toastie drop it on the worktop then continue to pick it up and stuff it into the takeaway box like it didn’t happen. I didn’t feel like I could speak up as the staff on shift seemed inconvenienced by the 3 customers (including myself) that they had to serve. Safe to say I didn’t eat the toastie as the sides didn’t look clean and it went straight in the bin. Coffee was ok but didn’t taste anything like pistachio.

Very rude staff, me ordering a coffee felt like it was an inconvenience to them and they seemed more occupied with their phones rather than seeing to customers. A customer in front of me asked for a milk alternative but was given dairy and had to return their drink in exchange for one that was suitable for them - this also seemed to be nothing but an inconvenience to the staff. The coffee itself was mediocre. Wouldn’t return. Definitely far better coffee shop options in town. Vibes weren’t great :/

interior very outdated, seating feels very cramped. limited food options. hot drinks served lukewarm, awful burnt beans and conversation from staff is nonexistent. overall not a pleasant experience at all, especially for the price

Lovely shop, people are welcoming and amazing in conversation. the coffee was good also, very accommodating to my severe lactose intolerance and made a clear effort to keep things clear and clean for me

Got completely ignored by the team behind the bar. Girl with the colour hair was rude. Tables dirty, floor dirty, toilets dirty and coffee tastes like an ashtray. Overall a horrible experience.

Often come into this branch and order a hot chocolate. The last few occasions I have gone here the chocolate sauce was very watered down and the drink itself was barely warm. For the price I’d expect it to be up to standard however, this branch is seriously lacking. The retail park and drive thru are fine

Colchester train station mentioned to send a review, though they don't have trip advisor profile.. which is why it's such a bad review I'm afraid.. the station cafe doesn't do rewards, the girl mentioned their in the process this was the same excuse last yr,, the Colchester town centres Starbucks is due a refurb and the clacton ones been noticed selling mouldy food,, the station one ran out of all the nice things on the menu,, the positives are,, I was struggling with the app in Colchester and the refurb one gave us a free one,, their menus ok,, the staff are lovely,, their central and their always being out new products

I have MS and the chap behind the till brought my coffee over, that’s really helpful and nice! Everyone was really helpful

Said delivery was between 15-30 mims, took 1 hour 50 mins, just completely lying to get the orders

It’s a Starbucks. You know what you’re getting. We arrived late in the day, and the place was quiet, but we were made to feel welcome, with all the staff helping get drinks and treats, including pupcups for the two dogs. It’s difficult to remain enthusiastic when you’re approaching close of day, but all of the staff here were a credit to the company.

Lovely little Starbucks and amazing and wonderful staff

Staff are usually very friendly. The lack of gluten free food is disappointing - there used to be a panini as well as cake options, but can now only buy tiny bitesized cakes. Not a problem unique to this outlet however

ordered 2 coffee and 2 pastries, they didn't bring the pastries

I love starbucks and visit a branch daily, however I always feel let down at culver. The staff are always stressed out, even when it's quiet. No please, thank you's, and minimal eye contact....basic customer services! There always seems to be problem there, wrong order, wrong milk, no receipts etc. Nothing is easy or straight forward. Meeting friends/colleagues for a coffee should be enjoyable, but not here. Go elsewhere for less stress and better atmosphere.

Nice and clean. friendly staff. A little bit on the expensive side of things (e.g. cinnamon roll 3.75). Lovely drinks though.

my drink was on time- it was a bit strong but a mistake on my side and the packaging was OK but some did spill into the bag but everything was good 👍 ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️

The 2 people working were so friendly and noticed me right away. I came in a few days after my birthday to treat myself with my birthday free drink and they gave me a birthday cake pop on the house. This has made my day and I will be returning

Waited 20 mins queue way too long , by time got the drink opened cup wrong order. Couldn't be bothered to queue again . Won't be back here anytime soon

Worst £4.31 spent on a drink in Starbucks. The drink was watered down and it tasted like hot dishwasher water. Very disappointed, chucked it in the bin and will never go back there

Waited 20 minutes for my drink. Lady was too interested chatting about how short staffed the store was; a colleagues friend distracted the entire team meaning my food was received significantly prior to my drink. The drink was made perfectly but the service and atmosphere leaves a lot to be desired.

This place supports Israel. I have confirmed this with them. The customer service is terrible! The staff were very rude and the building had rats! Wont be coming here again!!!!🤬🤬

This is the second time, when I order from Starbucks, they are not sending every items properly and I am paying for things I am not eating.

We have received wrong drinks with wrong cup sizes. And on top of that... no straws. How are we supposed to drink this...

I am very impressed with the quality of drinks and the service we got. Very artistic I think if you need a picture to advertise your pumpkin spice latte and hot chocolate drinks then this is the store to do it. Love coming here more then any other store. The staff are lovely.

The worst starbucks I have ever been to. Been getting the same starbucks coffee for months on end and this was the worst. It was a very busy Saturday but not only did they get the order wrong, they seemed to get every order wrong that was in the queue before me. Like 10+ people were saying their order was wrong. In addition to this the service was SO slow, which I understand is normal for a busy Saturday but they had 7 members of staff on and at least 4 of them were doing absolutely nothing. Clearly ignoring customers when trying to get their attention to say that their order was wrong. A few of the girls were stood around doing nothing but chatting, there was only 2 people actually working. It was also so dirty in there, you’d think the workers doing nothing could maybe sweep or clean the tables. Will not be returning.

Really quick service, we didn’t order much but the drinks were great! Only problem was I ordered 1 drink with skimmed milk and was given whole milk. Not too much of an issue as was still enjoyable.

Just stopped in for a takeaway coffee. Good quality coffee at standard Starbucks prices. Toilets could be cleaner but clean enough in other areas.

Great service but the coffee is not as good as the coffee found at Costa.

I can almost guarantee that when I place an order at least one of my items will be missing. This is happening far too frequently.

We were the only customers and took 20 mins to get 2 drinks as the staff were just standing around talking instead of working.

it was made with almond milk which i’m allergic too , i am not happy. If I was going to drink it , it would send me into hospital if i didn’t check.

Had a very positive experience today - I was helped out by Pam who guided me through access to the app and appreciated my urgency when I was trying to get a drink for my granddaughter as a treat when I picked her up from school.!

This is a nice Starbucks with downstairs & upstairs seating areas. The staff are friendly & the toffee nut latte was lovely. The food I had could have had more flavour but overall was not bad.

My phone was getting repaired next door at fone World, I thought a hot choccy on a cold morning would be a nice treat. Went in about 10.10am and the member of staff was finishing an order and about 30 seconds later was still on the computer screen, eventually asked what I wanted "regular hot chocolate please" they then tapped the screen again and said "large hot chocolate??" (If this is a sales technique I didn't fall for it) so I re said "regular please" (before anyone moans I don't know the Starbucks names for the sizes) I was then told the price and I whipped a tenner out my pocket (sold a mk1 mx5 1.6 16v eunos roadster engine cam cover and gasket for £15 the day before so had it in my pocket) and the person said "sorry this is a cash free business" and as my phone was getting repaired I couldn't pay Google pay🙃 Walked away empty handed but with a tenner in my pocket so I'm happy Customer service 1/5 Staff meeting could be organised and called "it's free to smile"

I mainly wanted a Frappocino along with 2 bacon baps. Guess what?? They forgot to deliver the Frappacino!! If i'd known, i would have ordered the bacon rolls from a much cheaper place and not spend £4.50 on each one. Had to order it again. In the end, I paid for 2 x delivery charges. Very unfair

I was having a stressful morning and I decided to grab a coffee and cake before heading to university. The staff member greeted me and was very friendly. I felt super at ease as we had a little chat about the day before I took a seat to get some work done. My coffee and snack was amazing and such a calm and warm environment to be in. A test fire alarm went off but before this happened a staff member kindly warned customers in a friendly and calm way as to not distract or interfere with their usual routines. I could not praise the guys there this morning enough. You made my day.

Nice staff but this has to be one of the dirtiest Starbucks I have ever seen. It looks like the carpeting hasn’t been vacuumed in months, dirty tables and floors. Not up to par at all. Clean this store!

Ordered a Meat Focaccia and I can honestly say it was one the worst filled sandwiches I've ever seen. One thin slice of ham, 2 thin slices of salami and not even enough cheese to melt onto the bread. For £6.55 I'd expect at least to be able to see the filling between the two slices of focaccia. Should have bought the ingredients and made it myself for half the price.

I have no received my full order

Incredibly artful atmosphere with one particular awfully rude employee. We were kicked out as two out of 9 of my friends hadn’t bought a coffee as they do not accept cash. We were cashing no issue and there was plenty of room for more customers. One member of staff stormed upstairs and swore and shouted at us to leave and threatened to call security. It is honestly embarrassing and needs to be sorted out.

Very disappointed in specific members of staff, recently heard other complaints towards her. She was incredibly rude and was swearing multiple times at my friends and i. This unwelcoming atmosphere has put many people off entering this shop and spending money. To my great disgust we had even left the shop as we were requested to and was standing the other side of the street and still being glared.

Everyday same, slow service, each time, couldn't come out on time. Always 10 minutes minimum. Poor quality. Pretend like ohhh no, have to serve another customer.

Popping in for a coffee treat, we decided to sit in ,MISTAKE! this place is dirty with sticky floors sticky seats and a toilet that is more of a wet room I’d give this place a miss.

I order from this Starbucks quite frequently, however the last few times there have been more and more items missing from my order. Will be ordering from Café Nero or Costa in future.
