Starbucks in Moray

Just had THE WORST cup of coffee ever. I ordered a decaf with almond milk. My tag on my cup didn’t say decaf so I went to inquire if it was indeed decaf. The staff member was borderline dismissive and told me it was decaf. What’s the point of putting your order sticker on if it isn’t accurate? I then tasted my coffee and it tasted awful. So I went to ask why it tastes like marzipan and the same staff member rolled his eyes at me and said it’s because it was made with almond milk. I order the same coffee (decaf latte with almond milk) wherever I go (other Starbucks outlets included) and NEVER EVER had the almond milk made my coffee taste like marzipan. So either Starbucks has changed their almond milk supplier or the branch in Elgin is using a different supplier. I’m so disappointed as I’ve been craving a great cup of coffee and the drivel I drank tonight fell dismally short. In addition the store was dirty, unorganized and had a distinct feeling of being unkept.

Got the order wrong. They fixed it no problem, but didn't notice. They didn't care about the difference of allergens with the milk which drastically impacts quality of life for my accompanying party. They just shrugged it off.

Thanks CJ really helpful with cups! Always friendly, and approachable. Drinks are becoming so expensive. You really pay for the whole experience.

Sat at the drive through for around ten mins. Nobody spoke when got to the window the man told us that nobody (him) picked up the headset. The place was near empty. Put our order in asked for extra drizzle which we paid for. When the frappes got to us they were weak and with a tiny squirt. When asked if that was extra he replied it was all he had left in the bottle. The dregs. Too lazy to go get another bottle. He gave each an extra squirt reluctantly and spilt all over the sides. Didn’t put the lids on nor offer napkins. Just seemed like he didn’t know what he was doing and that he didn’t want to be there. Very Rude man! That is not the first time he has served us and all times he has been this way. Not a patch on other drive through Starbucks we’ve been to. Really poor.

Just to be clear, and prevent others being misled, this cafe is NOT dog friendly.

Quick visit good service was quiet.

Lovely coffee and the staff behind the counter were very pleasant and efficient. But every empty table had dirty cups/ plates on it. The lassie with the cleaning cart stood and talked to a customer for about 20 mins ignoring the dirty tables. When she did finally move she cleared them but did not clean them despite some of them being obviously dirty. The floor also had pieces of litter on it. It’s a pity the lovely coffee was spoilt by dirty surroundings that could have easily been sorted out without too much effort.

Really nice place to just grab a bite and settle down for a coffee. I hadn't been here for a while so I was surprised it had revamped and moved across the square but it looks fab! The staff are all exceptionally friendly and they certainly make the visit a welcomed one. I find in a lot of starbucks, the cold drinks usually taste super weak and watered down but that wasn't the case here. Overall a really nice experience!

Much improved with new management. I nearly drove past today but thought I’d give it a last chance. Lucy, the new manager has got the place running how Starbucks should be run with a much more efficient and well trained team under her.

No issues at all to be honest - didn’t realise the place had switched sides on the High Street however. A much better and modern look. Caramel Macchiato served imminently, staff all smiling and a good seat at the window to enjoy the early Summer sunshine. Will be up again soon so will try and pop my head in!

** Drive thru review - Service was absolutely shocking! Three members of staff on duty trying to manage the drive thru, instore customers and preparing orders for both. Two of the staff were on the go slow while the young girl was trying to remain calm and pick up the slack! My order took ages and was on the verge of asking for a refund ! It wasnt overly busy so think the issue was just not enough staff! I love Starbucks but its really put me off this branch!

Visited for a coffee and some breakfast on Saturday Morning. Went into the store as we needed to use the facilities and wish we never. The place was filthy. Floor sticky and dirty, all the tables were dirty, condiments area, sticky and filthy, toilets, filthy!!! Never been so such a dirty place in a long time. Won’t be back! Disgusting

Had to wait half an hour for my coffee and they didn’t even get my order right!

Great coffees, had a wait for drinks, the format of the shop is wrong and encouraged me to start my trip at the end of the line. Shop layout is backwards.

We have very much enjoyed Starbucks in Elgin which has recently moved location, it is just opposite the old Starbucks. Whenever we are in Elgin we always have our two dogs with us and they have always been welcome, until now. We walked in to be politely informed that dogs are no longer welcome but we could sit outside, it was raining. Sadly the end of an era. This is very much against the prevailing trend, as many Starbucks do accept dogs. We are very disappointed and needless to say we won’t be back unless you reverse your policy. Commercially I believe that it is shortsighted and the wrong approach.

NO DOGS ALLOWED! A great dog friendly place has now become so unwelcoming. Such short sightedness of the management, not the staff. Another customer who will not return.

Friendly staff, grest coffee and food.

I wanted to check out the all New and Improved premises on the Elgin High Street and overall I must say I’m disappointed….why? The old Starbucks logo remains on the building opposite so confusing for any visiting tourists. The doors to the new building are the main issue when considering people with any disabilities like in a wheelchair or perhaps someone frail. I’m 6ft 3 and above average build but couldn’t help but notice how heavy the doors were; there is now no disabled access button like the older building had so a shock considering it’s a brand new outfit for Starbucks with their global presence. Anyone with a disability will certainly struggle to enter the building. Entering the building I needed to pop to the loo and was disappointed to find 2 toilets out of order and only option to use the disabled toilet. Using the disabled toilet it was very spacious but the sink was very close to the toilet so I couldn’t imagine how difficult it must be for a disabled wheelchair user to negotiate around. Service; I ordered a Caramel Latte Medium and was shocked to pay £4:05p not a strong presence of coffee but did taste good and it was service with a smile and didn’t have to wait long. Walking in between tables to get to start of queue was also weird . The layout of the shop was odd and again I can only imagine how difficult it must be for wheelchair users. It would be interesting 🤨 to find out how a person with disabilities would feel about their experience of such a big Coffee worldwide franchise.

My wife and I had two very enjoyable cappuccinos in the lovely new Starbucks premises in Elgin. All the usual drink and snacking options are available with prices on par with similar eateries. Service from two members of staff who attended to us was quick and friendly.

Nice stop off while shopping. I came back to update this review. The cafe have changed location to across the road. The staff were excellent super friendly and helpful. Keep up the good work.

Brand new and disgusting! Feet stick to the floor, counters where baristas work are covered in dirt, spilt milk and grime. Dirty crockery on almost every table. Wouldn’t believe it’s only been open a few weeks.

Staff lovely but I did not enjoy my coffee so strong lovely decor

New starbucks pretty much the same but just a LOT noisier, it's too warm and the chairs accompanying the larger sofas are super uncomfortable and dig into your back.

To no longer accept dogs is unforgivable, seeing all the lovely dogs is the best thing, if you allow kids in then dogs must be allowed as they behave much better

Wonderful bunch of girls, always have a friendly welcome for us and can never do enough to help, coffees are always perfectly made to our liking and the cakes are always a fabulous treat too!

I had Megan serve me and her service was really good, made the best drink for me and was so welcoming and knowledgeable! A good asset to the store 😊

I popped in today unsure of what I wanted and val behind the counter was amazing and suggested with the hot weather your new strawberry açai. I decided to give it a try and wow your staff really know their stuff as it was very much enjoyed in the heat. All around I received a friendly welcome and amazing service from val. I will definitely be back because of the service I got from her.

Always come down for a coffee whenever I get the chance usually before I start work at a different coffee store (I prefer Starbucks 😂). The staff are amazing and always serve with a smile and are fantastic always remembering my drink order. Val one of the team members, is an absolute gem and an asset to the store! She’s always polite, friendly and makes coffee to an exceptionally high standard and is just such a pleasure to talk to when waiting for my morning coffee, she’s such a credit to her team ☺️ this place is honestly my second home and I’m so happy they’re getting a bigger store to continue making great coffee with a great team ☺️

Young staff very busy and did well to be honest, Had a latte and was good , Asked for raspberry blonde biscuit and was good, I was given a bite size and not told about it, charged £1.40 for it wow, see pic attached.

Was in this morning and was served by Rosa who then went on to make me a Coffee Frappuccino🧋 and I have to say it's the best one I've had in a long time. CJ and Rosa were on hand today deliver the best service that I've personally had in any Starbucks. Honestly, every time we go in here they are always happy, always remember our names and the coffee and cakes always hit the spot. All of their staff are brilliant. We'll keep coming back again and again. Coffee is coffee, but finding a place that delivers a good, friendly, genuine service is what really matters. Starbucks can be very proud of their Elgin store and how they make it feel so local. See you all again!

Really good place to go for a solo espresso and an almond croissant with my family. Also love the diversity of the culture around the shop, lgbtq+, Christians, muslims and every body from all different walks of life.

Whenever I’m in Elgin and feel in need of a caffein injection, I nearly always go to Starbucks on the High Street. Starbucks on the High Street is more like an old fashioned local pub than a coffee shop; by that I mean the staff are always polite, they’re capable of holding conversations and most importantly, they remember my name. Today I was served by Val and Lucy, probably the best two team members.
