Starbucks oswestry in Shropshire

This is probably the worst Starbucks in the UK. On our recent eat-in visit of 4 people, 1 coffee was in a takeaway cup, 1 was in an eat-in cup, 1 was totally forgotten about and 1 passion fruit drink had no passion fruit and came with blueberries in, without a question as to whether that was ok with us. We were told to sit down but nobody called us to tell us the drinks were waiting on the counter, by the time we went looking they were mostly cold. On asking where our missing drink was we were made to feel as if it was our fault by the rude staff. Out of all the countless Starbucks we have visited this is definitely the worst, this was also not our first visit here and the service has never been great but this last experience was dreadful. Better go over the road to the ESSO garage and get a Costa or Greggs!

nice friendly staff, the one chap did carry on his personal conversation whilst serving which was a bit weird. but coffee was good and the cake I decided to have too and they got my name right !

Turned up to find it closed, the sign taken down, it's possible it's being refurbished but the fact they haven't bothered to tell their customers says how much they value our business. Too much trouble to even post on Facebook it's closed for X amount of days for refurbishment no?

Walked in, walked out. Filthy and the toilets still stink of p**s. I can’t believe that the local council still allow this place to be open.

Dreadful!! £3.50 for a cup of overscolded coffee which the sullen barista wiped with a jay cloth in front of me… you couldn’t make this up…..complained about the coffee and cup snatched away… 5 mins later another appeared unannounced….awful service by this particular young lady and dreadful coffee….where is management?!?

How can a lacto.free or non.fat milk be replaced with skimmed milk?! I ended up vomitting and was not halfway my drink. Starbucks Oakridge Mandaue did nothing.

Super convenient location whilst staying at the Premier Inn. Lovely staff here and coffee very appreciated for an early start!

Wow! Where do I begin, I asked for a surprise coffee and well I received it. Iv never been touched before in this way, it hit every spot possible! 10/10 service!! 10/10 coffee!

Unable to find a store on the app. I tried placing order from london st pancras station this morning. Unable to find it on the app. Thought it was because i was not away from the location. On getting there it was the same. I believe the app is to skip queues and delay. Almost missed my train. Only to see st pancras coming up after leaving the station. This had actually happened to me more than 3 times now.

I asked for decaffeinated coffee and watched the Barista make my coffee from the normal coffee spout. I asked her if it was decaffeinated and she said it was, then I explained I have a heart condition and it has to be decaffeinated and she insisted it was, I was very ill for 6 hours afterwards, losing my sight at one stage and my ability to drive on a driving holiday. Why lie and lie again when you can put someone's health at risk unneccesarily? She had indeed served me a caffeinated coffee and lied twice over when asked.

Visited this morning for 2 drinks and explained I was on my way to the train station. Paid for the drinks and waited 20 mins since I ordered and had to leave as I'd of missed the train. Only 2 members of staff on in the morning when it's very busy. 1 making drinks and the other taking orders and sorting the food.. Very slow service for a coffee shop....

Just awful!!! But not the young teams fault…no senior management, they appear occasionally and sit with their laptops looking efficious whilst the youngsters tackle both drive through and inside customers. Usually paper cups and order very rarely accurate….tables dirty and toilets not the best hygenically.

Poor visit again! The staff are hopeless. Gave coffees in takeaway cups but food on plates (we were not eating in)! Then forgot about the cake order. 2nd visit here and next time I’ll go elsewhere.

Dirty, grimy and entirely unwholesome. It clearly has a massive wasp infestation (not just outside but they were also crawling all over the glass inside). It’s not beyond the wit of even the most dreadful manager to deal with a wasps’ nest. Clearly the manager is beyond dreadful.

Stopped by for coffee and pastries, whilst in the area. In contrast to the recent negative reviews, I was impressed with the cleanliness, it was spotless. Whilst we were there staff were busy cleaning tables and regularly touched surfaces like door handles. The coffee was the usual Starbucks quality and the pastries were lovely and fresh, a very pleasant visit.

I was very shocked today visiting this Starbucks on our way early morning to take our baby to Oswestry hospital. As this is a big chain all over I was disgusted with the state of the cafe, it was early morning 7:30am so I would...

I had a very rude experience when I visited this starbucks yesterday. I asked Victoria for a customised order but have three of them but could we pay separately. She then told me the price which was £14.50, I was confused because that seemed a lot. I was like sorry would we be able to pay seperately, she then proceeded to turn round and say 'Yes' and then rolled her eyes and went 'ugh' right in front of our faces. We then stood to the side and waited for our drinks. We then over heard her talking about us in a rude manner to her co-workers. This wasn't a very nice experience and felt violated by the staff working that day especially Victoria with her poor customer service. Please sort it out.

Yesterday we visited Starbucks and one of the employees, named Victoria, working there was very rude towards me and my friends when we asked for a customised order and for that to all be paid separately. Not only was she rude but she rolled her eyes directly at us, said 'ugh' and started talking about us to her co workers working within the coffee shop. Please sort this out as we would not like to see anybody treated the way we were yesterday.

Had a nicer toffee nut latte out of a packet, the luxury hot chocolate was watery and tasteless and tables not cleaned between customers. Very expensive, won't bother again.

Just visited the drive through and had the worst flat white I have ever been given. I appreciate that the flat white is a more complex coffee to make but Starbucks shouldn't offer it if they cannot reach the standard needed. They are always hit...

Very hit and miss but twice this week had awful coffee....really didn’t want to complain again as customer service poor....usually walk away with a snarl from the female staff and giggles on head sets....wouldn’t mind quite so much if it wasn’t extortionately over priced.....avoid

Visited quickly after a 3 hour drive from Lincoln and we were in wales for the weekend. Staff were efficient and polite. Drinks were amazing!

Stopped here a few times out of necessity. Good parking, but that's the only real positive I have. Management doesn't seem too bothered. Tables usually uncleared and dirty even when quiet. Service isn't hostile, but there is a definite not-very-interested atmosphere. Oddly for an outlet...

Popped in for a business meeting about 5.30pm. Seemed plenty of staff on duty, but they seemed more interested in talking/joking about with each other than serving customers.

Bit of a long way around to get to this one as it is not off the Mile End island directly. Good parking outside and a warm spacious building with outside seating but... yet again with these 'chain' places, you go in and the tables are piled high with left overs and not cleaned at all with food on the floor. I sometimes wonder why we all still keep going to these places? It seems to be totally lacking in management - I challenge them to reply to this review. The staff seemed to ignore the mess for ages so I picked up as much as I could to make space for customers and piled it on the serving area - I think they got the point. I took a photos to back up my evidence - one attached. What must visitors from abroad to Oswestry think about our standards in the UK? No excuse - one to avoid sadly. Would be so easy for them to get it right. Oh, and I was offered my receipt and on getting home found it was someone else's!

Bloody Awfull. Dirty, waited 15 minutes for a toasted tea cake. Did I mention Dirty. Wife’s danish was way past its Best Buy. Expensive. Not good. Avoid.

We both needed a comfort stop and we popped in to Starbucks, clean, tidy and the coffee, as usual, good, ad a good rest and then on our way, a nice place to stop. Staff friendly..

Quick stop heading to a downhill race. Just off the Liverpool boat at 0700 heading for Hopton Castle. Nice little stop as we normally do on a Sat morning before the final destination for HSBC or Pearce Cycles Downhill race series.

25 minutes wait for a coffee & no apology - really? 4 staff on drive thru & 1 valiant member of staff trying to manage the rest in house, with 9 customers waiting to be served, let alone the number waiting for coffee. Seems to be an opportunity lost Starbucks, sort out your management team structure - couldn't manage their way out of a paper bag! Take away their silly headsets & stop them using them to hide from fed up customers.

It was super busy and the lady being the till was doing her absolute best to hold everything together. Taking orders, cooking paninis, handing out food yet the staff with the headsets were simply sniggering to each other over them. Talking about how unprofessional they were being when everything was so busy.

My partner just returned with my coffee from the drive thru. The cup is half full and not marked decade so I have no idea which drink is decaffeinated out of the three. No receipt given, coffee spilled down the side of the cup. It's always dirty here and staff don't care. A shame for the brand.

I’m a regular at the Starbucks in oswestry and it’s never been the cleanest of places, but recently it’s sunk to new lows.

Sat here for 40 mins now, there's three lads working today and the place is a mess, there's not one cleared table, cups everywhere, there going to run out soon 😁 Understaffed. Presumably Head office decision, can't blame these three really

I have been to a few star buck's now. Although I hate to see them waste water, I love the coffee. Coffee great as was the food. But oh dear what a sour puss behind the till. She must of been really having a bad day. As she could just about speak. Or rather she didn't. Well you can't win them all. But please Starbucks stop wasting water.

Clearly they have taken some notice of some ratings as the inside has had a small refurbishment, however, that said it is still not the cleanest place to sit in. The female toilets are small and often have an unpleasant odour and are missing toilet paper and soap! I’ve learnt to take my own tissues and mini hand wash now!! The coffees and Frappuccino’s are generally great though, so more often than not I tend to use the drive through instead!

I've held off leaving this review in the hope that things might improve, but sadly not. Starbucks should be ashamed of this branch. I have never been in a food and drink establishment that is so dirty. Tables remain uncleared, even in quiet early mornings. Food waste and packaging debris on tables and floors. Dust on every surface and windows so grubby that when the sun shines on them you can barely see out. As for the toilets, you need to hold your breath before entering, unhygenic doesnt come close to describing them.This is an international chain for goodness sake.How can standards be allowed to fall so low. Shut it down, refurbish and install staff who actually have some pride in their establishment.

Visit many times. Coffee very hit and miss and clearly depends on who makes it.

Driving to pick up an early morning train at Gobowen back in March. Missed one so at the last minute decided to call into Starbucks for a coffee as we had an hour spare. First time visit there and not checked reviews in advance.

Went to the drive thru. Ordered 2 Frappuccinos. Quickly made and no waiting. Friendly staff. Not much parking though and this is why we used the drive thru

Thought I'd try them out, was greeted welcomingly, polite service and very clean seating area, will visit again, highly recommended.

A year or so back I gave this place a poor review so I called in as I was passing to see if I could give a better review and acknowledge any improvement. I decided not even to buy a coffee- the place was filthy, uncleared tables and the gents toilet had an overwhelming smell of urine and were filthy. I made a shark exist. The correct course of action would be for the local health authorities to close it down.

Disappointed with the condition of this store. Coffee was just about OK, however, very dirty furniture and floors, toilets (especially the gents) had obviously not been checked recently. Would not visit again.

Staff looked like they couldn’t be bothered , didn’t make eye contact or smile , I felt awkward , tables were not clean , the whole seating area needed a good going over , hasbent been here for a few months , very shocked how the standards have dropped.

Coffee was fine and usual standard for a mass market coffee shop - the main seating area needed a good clean - surprising as it wasn't too busy but despite that the tables weren't at all clean - the toilets however were disgusting - the seat didn't stay up in the gents and it had clearly been well used - needs a visit from environmental health - no one would want to have to sit on the seat - the ladies were (I'm assured) equally dire....

It’s an ok place to pop in for a coffee and a muffin , the hot chocolate is also lovely my grandkids and daughter love it

Only stopped for coffee, which was top notch. However, ladies loo had no toilet paper, hand drier did not work and in the cafe the floor badly needed seeping.

I have stopped here a number of times on my way to Wrexham and always been pleased with the service. On one occasion I (stupidly) left my bank card. I called the store and was told they had indeed found the card and kept it safe for me and I collected it on my way home.

Short visit. Very good coffee. The staff serving were very pleasant. Surroundings were comfortable. It was nice to see, even though it was quite late in the day, the range of sandwiches and cakes on offer.

Come in here most Monday evenings to pass time while daughter at Gymnastics. Staff are not very polite and even begin cleaning the floor around us at 7pm! They are open until 8pm! Coffee often not very hot and one female member of staff can be quite rude! We asked her to explain the cup sizes and she was very abrupt. It is never busy at this time in the evening so that cannot be used as an excuse. Shame because there are not many places to meet in the evening locally for coffee and a chat.

I travel between Lampeter and Manchester regularly, but infrequently, and Croesoswallt is a convenient place to break my journey. On my last three visits, spread over, I suppose, fifteen months, the space where the urinal used to be is vacant; nothing, nada, just three or four holes in the wall to show where the absentee urinal used to lodge. I realise males in general are in the descendency, but come on, Starbucks, get your act together, fix the trough!

One of the better Starbucks I have visited. Far better than the other major chain's establishment not far away.

I use to go to starbucks regulary but stopped the service is awful and the coffee has gone down i have had take my coffee back on several occasions so now decided not to go anymore .drastically needs to improve on customer service x

Came in yesterday through drive through, the staff were very friendly, all smiling and happy, very accommodating and so pleasant to talk to, the one girl told me to have a nice day, would defiantly recommend

Always like Starbucks but a bit strange when they allow people to bring a Kentucky Fried Chicken meal in and eat it. In fairness the family had 1 Starbucks coffee between them but it would put me off going there again.

We sat drinking our coffee and eating our cake whilst sat with dirty plates around us , staff were just stood talking to one another , this is not good as my friend went to the toilet she came back to say how disgusting the toilets and had to report this to a member of staff , another member of staff appeared to go to clean the toilets and gave us both a dirty look this is not acceptable .

To wait 10 minutes is fine when it's busy, but to then wait another 10 minutes for your 2nd drink because "there's a long queue at the drive through" is unacceptable serve the customer that's already paid 1st and don't have an attitude while doing it! If I could give zero points I would......

All the staff seemed to be working a summer job or something, everything was done very slowly and we were made to feel like we were troubling them by even being there, especially a blonde girl who was very unhelpful and rude. Seems like they need a new manager. Interior is nicely decorated but only a few comfy chairs, most are hard wooden ones. Our drinks were also poor, didn't taste right at all. Starbucks prices also pretty ridiculous- I'd recommend drinking your coffee elsewhere...

Walked several kilometers from our B&B to get to Starbucks which is not in the town, presumably so as not to compete with the smaller independent coffee shops in town. Sunday evening only the pubs are open. The service was not friendly, but they made a fine latte. They closed at 8 pm and I arrived at 6:45 pm, so it was a short evening.

Called in for a coffee, had to wait ages with only one other person in the queue.When I picked up my 2 coffees - of the same size - the cappuccino had no weight to it. I looked inside and it was less than half full of coffee, with the remainder being froth. Not what I paid £3.05 for!

I've been here on so many occasions, each time the service has varied, but on the whole has been good. I've had occasions where my order has been given incorrect, but they've always replaced and fixed it with a smile and an apology! I meet with friends and family here for a relaxed place to sit and chat as well as hold the occasional "out-of-office" meeting!! The only thing I don't like is having to take my own tissues as the ladies toilet never seems to have an left!!

only star bucks in Oswestry so ive been a few times and its just not right. often my order is wrong or missing something or just doesnt taste right. You go to Starbucks in a city somewhere and they get it right, something about this place doesn't work

Helpful friendly staff, always happy to help. Drive thru is also great if you are in a rush and the car park can be quite busy.

Stopped for a coffee's on route. Terrible service she could not be more uninterested if she tried. Service is appalling go somewhere else. This is not what I expect from Starbucks.

Called in early morning en route to Shrewsbury , and even though the cafe had not been open long the men's and women's toilets needed attention and the toilet rolls replacing. Had the usual Starbucks fayre ( overpriced coffee and breakfast barms)

Having sat on a soft seat for 10 minutes the smell was unbearable, moved to a filthy wooden seat. When i got home i had to was my trousers as they were stinking too. The floors were also filthy.

Visited last Saturday for a Latte. Girl cleared and wiped a table with sofas so we could sit down. Thought my husband had ordered decaf skinny latte but realised on tasting that it wasn't 'my usual'. On mentioning to the girl at counter my coffee was change immediately, which I appreciated. Whole area looked clean and we ended up staying for an hour because we felt relaxed and coffee was good. Thank you.

Popped in here whilst waiting for someone, it feels like sitting in a warehouse, it was cold, tables dirty and litter on the floors, settees need a clean, toilets are mucky and need a coat of paint.Three staff on duty (sunday afternoon), but still had to wait quite a while for a coffee and a tea (can never understand why a cup of hot water and a tea bag are so expensive!!)

Often a long wait and unfortunately having been twice on both occasions my drink was not what I'd asked for. Soon corrected but still for the cost would expect better service.

Great meeting venue right on the main road so easy for me and the person I was meeting to get to. Facilities to charge tablets etc. friendly staff.

Just popped in for a quick cup of tea with my mum after dropping my daughter off at a friends. Staff were delightful and even brought our teas over to us. Clean and tidy and as welcoming as always.

Very busy location on A5. However, service is awful. Not staff fault - under-resourced and badly planned. 40 min visit, two flat whites and I have been at the counter for 25 of the 40. Coffee good thoughI know it is a "guaranteed successful location" but please help. This site would die in South East!

Call in here quite frequently to and from Wales and the customer service is awful. Usually kept waiting, no eye contact from staff to say they've seen you, staff chatting while you're kept waiting. I'm a regular at Starbucks and find this one unusually bad.

The warmth of the staff made up for the coldness / air conditioning of the building, the food and drink, always the same in Starbucks, same standard. Still my favourite latte.

Coffee was good. Place was clean and tidy. Staff were very patient working on both a drive through and in store. Very friendly and made my drink exactly how i wanted it. Toilets were clean. Overall one of my favourite Starbucks.

Just popped in for a quick lunchtime snack and latte. I frequent Starbucks regularly so I know how the coffee should taste. This was definitely not how it should be, coffee was bitter and flavourless with lots of aerated bubbles on the top that should be smooth. Surely the barista training is the same for everyone obviously not if this coffee was anything to go by!

Called in here at lunch time on Saturday 25th September 2016 to break up a long journey. I can't believe that this place is trading under such a well known brand name. I went to the gents toilet which stank of stale urine. There was faeces smeared wet toilet paper not just in the cubicle but in the hand washing area. My wife said the women's toilet was 'gross'. I ordered two different hot drinks which took ten minutes to serve the first one and another fifteen minutes to serve the second. There was only person in the queue in front of me but there was a clear lack of any coordination or even ability amongst the staff and they couldn't even get the drive through orders right. On waiting to place my order I had to wait while the bloke on the till threw endless balls of rolled up till roll backwards to see if he could get them to land in the litter bin, acting like a totally irresponsible and immature child. I don't mind anyone having a laugh at work but this was just beyond a joke and displayed an amazing disinterest in the cash paying customer. In conclusion this is the worst coffee shop I have ever visited and management needs to get a serious grip on the place.

Coffee and hot always luke warm ...always clean and tidy ...staff alway make you feel like your a hindrance.

Stopped for a quick cuppa and a pastry on the way to north wales. I drive past this Starbucks a few times every month on work, the key part of that phrase being "drive past" as I favour the McDonald's a few miles up the road. Yes, I am a classy individual.However, since Mrs Mec was with me she insisted on coming here .......and as usual she won!!She did her usual trick of getting me to order her a decaf tea (why she insists on coming to a coffee shop I don't know), only for me to be told "Don't do decaf tea" (no niceties here!)So I asked for 2 normal teas, a brownie and a cold cinnamon swirl which came hot. I wouldn't mind but we the only people in there. Add to that that it's £9.40 and I defy anybody to find it value for money.I'm off up to maccies!!

Dropped in for a comfort break around 9am on a Saturday morning. Hardly anyone in, the staff were nice and friendly and the coffee and patisserie were up to the usual standard. We made our way to the sofa, comfy chair area. Well, they looked like they were only cleaned when a bottom wiped the dust off. Food stuck to them and an inch of dust on the back of the chairs. It gave the whole place a tacky feel. If it isn't that busy there's no excuse for dirtiness. Get the Dyson out!!!

Whilst the coffee is fine (and predictable as you would expect from a chain), the poor team are understaffed. I visited on a Saturday morning and it feels as if the drive through is prioritised over customers in the cafe. Whilst half of mine and my friend's order came very quickly, I waited about 20 minutes for my food. I think they must have forgotten the order but I'm sure this was down to business of the drive through and a long customer queue. But still, not ideal...

We received a warm and friendly welcome and were made to feel as if we were the only customers in the place, even though it was very busy, we sat down and they advised they would let us know when our drinks were ready, in fact they brought them over which was lovely of them given it was busy and we said just give us a shout most places don't treat you like this but I'm glad they did, we will be back and thank you your all a credit to starbucks

The price is not inline with other branches. Over priced in my opinion a grande is more expensive than a vente in Shrewsbury branch. I completely disagree with over pricing and already over priced product becuase of where the store is located.....it's safe to say they make enough money as is. To me it's very cheeky.

We had been travelling for a few hours and decided to stop for a coffee, we went in to use the loo's instead of using the drive through. Popped to the loo whilst my boyfriend went to grab the drinks. No que. 2 people making drinks. One cleaning tables. My partner was stood for 5 mins whilst before I came to join him. We still waited to be noticed. After another 5 or so mins some else came from out the back, pointed to the next till and said 'I couldn't see you on the camera' implying it was our fault that we were stood in the wrong place. By this point there were a good 10 people behind us in a que all waiting for someone to just notice we were there, all of the staff just carried on making drinks and ignoring us- no eye contact, nothing. Anyway finally ordered our drinks to which we then waited a long time for. A couple were waiting for their drinks when we walked in and as we were handed ours they complained that they still hadn't had theirs and we got ours first! The staff are miserable and clearly need some customer service training. The lady who served us implied it was our fault that we were stood in the wrong place. She needs to learn how to speak to customers without an attitude. The guy with shoulder length dark hair was just ignoring us for 10 mins. Disgrace.
