All staff were friendly and were very attentive when it came to the meals with allergies with a very good range of gluten free food. Food was lovely and hot. Would highly recommend a visit

Main meal could have been hotter, had booked prosseco with our lunch but had to ask at the bar as we had eaten half of our meal and was still waiting.

Food was great, price was reasonable, and portions are about what you would want. Nothing I could complain about. The highlight of this place is the lovely staff, very friendly and accommodating. The overall atmosphere on our visit was cozy and quiet - perfect for my partner and I. I'm surprised this place isn't heaving, if I was local I'd be a regular, and when I'm next up this way I'll be sure to visit again.

We have recently moved to the area, and decided to visit for a meal out, as its also in walking distance. We were warmly greeted and shown to our table. There is lots of choice from the menus, I chose scampi & chips and my husband had a cowboy burger. We ordered at the bar, as we had a voucher. After our meal we decided on a pudding which we ordered, easily, by the QR code. Overall a nice, casual evening.

3 steaks cooked well done rather than medium rare, took a long time for the food to arrive. Overall though it was a decent meal, bar the dry steak.

Christmas breakfast with Santa. What a mess! My son and I arrived early, had managed to hold him off eating for the morning so he could enjoy his breakfast. We were pointed to our table. Sat down on a sticky table and were left for over 30 mins while one waitress ran round the pub trying to take orders, taking all orders on tables around us and seemingly forgetting us. Totally understaffed with only one waitress for the whole pub, and Santa looked a like he just got out of bed with a hangover, put his jacket on backwards and got his beard and outfit from Poundland. Left after all tables around us had been served and were finishing food, approximately 30 mins after arriving and had not even seen a menu. Absolute joke and imagine lots of kids will have stopped believing after seeing ‘Santa’! If you’re going to do it, do it properly. Very disappointed!

Emma Darch ensured we had a table booked, was very friendly and gave customer service and made sure our food came out together. Our waitress Emma took the time to make sure our food was all okay and didn’t need anything else or sauces. Emma cleared our tables promptly.

Come into the pub this evening and Sarah was really welcoming, Amy served me and was really happy and chatted. My food was cooked by Tom and it was very nice and enjoyable.

Came in for lunch and had the spicy beef burger, it was delicious. Nicki served me quickly and she was lovely, my food came out quickly and hot. Nick was very polite and friendly when he bought my food over and checked back to make sure everything was okay. 5* service for a lovely lunch, thank you I will be returning again :)

Went for Sunday roast. Half was cold, and very small portions won't be going again.

Just had the hand-battered fish and chips, the batter was perfectly crispy and the fish was meaty and delicious, would highly reccomend it.

Been here a few times much like a weatherspoons really place little bit run down but staff are polite, food was terrible I had the spicy beef burger their last one apparently I think it was and started life on the hot plate when they opened, it was hard over cooked and had shrunk to the size of the mayonnaise bottle top on the table tasteless chips were like wooden twigs over cooked wasn't cheap at nearly £14 I wouldn't recommend eating their just terrible waste of money

Came for a Christmas meal. Staff we super friendly and really nice. Sarah, Amy, Ryse and Nick were really attentive and hosted a lovely evening with great food.

I have honestly never had such amazing customer service anywhere before. The attention to detail and the willingness to accommodate was astonishing. It added to a thoroughly enjoyable evening. Food was great and portions are generous. I can see us coming again. Thank you.

Had sausage and mash as a quick stop off, food was cooked great, piping hot and very tasty, Laura and Reece were extremely helpful and attentive

My old pony pal and I met here for lunch, it's a chance to spend time together. We each had a roast, Sonia had beef and I had veggie option, spinach tart. Needless to say both plates were practically inhale and therefore empty. Yum.

Food was good but didn’t blow us away, too a while…… used order at table app this was a bit clunky, couldn’t make amends that was required so had to order at the bar, bar staff pleasant however they were on their own and a busy bar so couldn’t deliver great service, it wasn’t poor service but it didn’t wow not their fault, they needed more people on.

It was very busy and they didn't seem to have been allowed any more staff to cope with this. It took ages to be able to order food at the bar. We knew the wait for food was long but it was very long. Food was good but chips were cold

Nice place to go for a drink or food. A little bit pricey for what you get.

We had a delicious meal with the usual quick service. The staff are incredibly friendly and will go out of their way to make sure you’re happy. We ordered popcorn chicken for our eldest, but it came with barbecue sauce, which she doesn’t like. When we ordered another one without sauce, Laura went above and beyond… she asked the kitchen to put a rush on it so we could all eat together. She came over to explain everything, letting us know it would be ready quickly, and it was! Laura was amazing, and we all loved our food. We’ll definitely be back!

Naomi severed us and was absolutely amazing no faults at all so kind and friendly amazing food would come again, very clean pub as well.

Just popped into the Stonemasons for some lunch whilst out on a drive from St Ives to Bath.... Standard chain pub with standard fare, staff were friendly and accommodating.... Not the best, but not the worst either.... Just Average..... OK place for a quick bite and a pint.

very very busy booking is advised thankfully they managed to squeeze us in seated within approx 20 mins on a very busy Saturday evening so many thanks Laura for that and the staff were so rushed off their feet and a long wait on food, had some issues which were dealt with immediately by josh and sarah so many thanks for that. we will be back especially when 30% vouchers make it better with the price

Awful service.If your table is for 7 p.m. and you've pre ordered your food ,why does it come out at 9 p.m? Couldn't even give a seat to an 8 months pregnant woman!!food was cold again too.

We normally visit on a Sunday but since the kitchen now closes early we decided to visit on Saturday evening. Big Mistake. We had to wait 1 hour 20 minutes for our meal which, when it arrived, was luke warm with undercooked chips. Although we had three free drinks (thanks very much) it really was little compensation for a ruined evening. The fact that two tables who arrived after us got served before us was seriously annoying.

Booked a table for 2pm. Arrived to find a 2 hour wait time for food. Their excuse was they never know how many people will be there. They should manage the number of bookings and not keep taking walk ins if they can't provide a service. Luckily we phoned another restaurant and had a fab experience. Won't be booking at the Stonemasons again.

Normally we go on a Sunday evening, but they have recently started to shut the kitchen earlier. This time we went on a Saturday evening - BIG MISTAKE. The table was reserved, so no problem - the wait for the food, however, was a massive problem being a ONE HOUR AND TWENTY MINUTE WAIT. Not only that, but the food was only luke-warm and the chips were completely undercooked.

Oh dear. The quality of food lets this place down. The staff here are lovely - kind and helpful even during busy times. However, the food is a step below Wetherspoons. It’s the same terrible microwaved trash but at twice the price. I can’t remember the last time I had such poor quality food at a pub. There aren’t many places to eat in the evening in Ilminster so I guess they don’t have to make an effort with the food? Would come back for a pint but will never eat here again.

My son brought me for a early mother's day dinner and every thing we had was good the only thing was we pre ordered the deserts but they must have got forgotten as 20 mins after finishing our mains we still had not got them so I had to remind them and it then came pretty quick .

Brilliant meal, just a little dark in places

Went yesterday at lunchtime plenty of parking a nice and clean looking pub I ordered the cowboy burger and my wife had the beef lasagne, when the food arrived my burger and chips were lukewarm the lasagne was nice and hot, I spoke with the young gentleman behind the bar he apologised took the food away and offered me a free drink which I thought was really nice and didn't have to do, the second burger and chips arrived piping hot the staff excellent and service was very good

I'm really surprised that this place has 4 stars review... Me and my husband went there and we had a starter, main dish, side dish and a dessert. There was no salt at all, not seasoned properly, the fries were awful, dry and dull, the meat was badly cooked. The cheesecake didn't had a biscuit crust, it had a sponge cake type of layer which was really weird. Maybe we went there with high expectations but I really think it's better to go to a fast food joint than here.

Visited Stonemasons on Friday Evening, finished work earlier than planned so called up to see if we could arrive earlier than booked and the staff member was more than accommodating. We both chose to have the mixed grill (a meal I was dubious about as I’d had it previous and the steak wasn’t great) however I went with it and must say it was 10/10, every aspect of it. And the steak was perfection. We were informed by a staff member that there is a new head chef, Jordan, who was on the grill. All I can say is keep hold of him if this is the quality of food he is producing. The best I’ve had in Stonemasons for a long long time. Also out thanks to be extended to Sarah, Amy and Naomi who ensured we were looked after throughout our time there even though it was busy. We were also found a suitable seat, I’m currently classed as disabled and on crutches. Nothing was to much trouble. Thank you all.

We particularly sought out a Marston's Inn whilst on holiday and were not disappointed. Easy parking, warm, friendly, comfortable, clean, tidy, FOC wifi great service from Emma and Sarah and a great meal.

Big thanks to the stone masons. Everything about our visit was perfect, service, food, price, steak was cooked perfect. The pub can be a bit noisy sometimes, but that's no fault. We booked a table right down the end for our meal and would again.

It was alright. Food was satisfactory but small portion (presumably to encourage adding £2 to go fractionally bigger).

Food okay certainly nothing special. The chairs were filthy to sit on In dyer need of a good clean.
