Excellent chippy would definitely visit again when I'm back in the area

Stumbled across this little gem on a cheeky weekend away, the smell drew me in upon entering it had a wonderful array of freshly fried delights. Very freindy staff orderd chips and sausage nice crisp batter on the sausage. Very tasty chips cooked well with a fluffy centre I give a 10/10

Ordered Sunday evening, multiple mistakes on our order which we only realised on our return home. Soggy batter on the fish and for a standard portion, the fish itself was very small. Shame as had a good experience in the restaurant a while ago, would not return to the takeaway

Every meal we've ever had here has been fabulous. We've never had better fish chips anywhere else.

First class meal and friendly staff

Stuarts of Driffield is an excellent fish and chip shop. The fish is cooked fresh to order, and there are plenty of options on the menu. I really like the homemade fish fritters they are very nice with a thick, crispy batter. The staff are very friendly and welcoming and there is also a nice restaurant if you want to eat in.

We had a fantastic time here with a large group of friends. All had the pensioner fish & chips special. Service was fast and very efficient. Would recommend to anyone.

Absolutely fantastic special, giant fish chips and peas, bread and butter a pot of tea or coffee, and a massive choice of sweets, all for £11-45. Brilliant, highly recommended, excellent value for money, in a lovely comfortable environment.

I think Stuarts Fish restaurant especially on gluten free is extremely poor to my other outings at Haworth, Flamborough and Drakes in York. They all use batter and gluten free vinegar. I had to have grilled fish and when it arrived it has a piece of blue plastic on the fish which was very off putting. Will never return. Food especially chips dry, no gluten free bread or desert. We should of got up and walked away before we ordered.

Their food is good but their portions are extremely mean. They use a little bag and shove one scoop of chips in it then wrap them up. I don't go there anymore. The meanest child size portion's I've ever had! Yet go into their restaurant and the portions are huge! You can't finish the meal. This is why the take out portions are small.

Lovely restaurant, the staff were so lovely to our children, speaking to the children (3 and 6) to take their orders which I really appreciate!! The fish and chips were amazing, and massive portions!

Absolutely wonderful fish restaurant we stayed and had the fish and chips special in the restaurant. This includes fish,chips mushy peas bread and butter a pot of tea and a homemade pudding for afters. I had coconut and jam pudding with custard and my wife had bread and butter pudding both where excellent and we were also served by the very helpful Jo who attended to our every need. We'll visit again when we're back this way

Today 2 Fish were totally over cooked and dry, only worth binning, i will avoid going there.

Now closes at 7pm on Sunday so it was a wasted trip! They need to update their information.

Fish very good chips not so good peas a bit dry

We've lived in Driffield for a week, already been twice already. Absolutely the best fish and chips we've had in decades! Might need to not go quite so often, though... haha

Had the choice of beautifully grilled haddock with vegetables as a change from chips, but my wife had traditional fish and chips, best she's tasted. Staff take your order promptly and were very pleasant. Plenty of room and dog friendly. They also do a pensioners special, fish and chips with bread and butter, tea and a pudding, which is extremely good value

Portions were really large, food we really well cooked. Would go here again for sure.

Fish and chips were excellent, we chose a day which was quiet, so atmosphere was a little muted, but staff and service was very good.

Just had takeaway, was awful, clearly old chips reheated from yesterday, fish was an oily mess, battered sausage was the best bit, and even that was OK at best, the batter seemed stale, only way I can describe it, not nice crispy batter hard, just cardboard hard, certainly won't be going back again, my husband said this is the worst fish he has ever had, ended up in the bin.

Take away fish and chips. Freshly cooked. Prices reasonable.

Always great food and great service

Really lovely food went for a huge piece of poached salmon rather than the normal fish and chips which are delicious! But I didn't have good envy just as delicious a meal. Very friendly service.

Sadly not many independent chippys left in the area, Stuarts seem to have taken over, but hey, if you love yesterdays chips recycled today, get yourself to Stuarts at around 5pm. Twice in a now we've had horrid fish and chips from Stuarts, chips burnt, dry and clearly last nights left overs or if not just shockingly bad and a dry flaky fish made up of 60% batter. Even my kid who loves chips wouldn't eat them. I contacted Stuarts via social media to see if they would put it right at £20+ each time but they decided they would rather not bother replying.

The food was amazing! I ordered the prawn thai red curry which was amazing. Others with me got the fish and chips. For the price: amazing. The portion sizes are big which makes it even better. Great service and friendly staff! Would love to come again.

What a great chip shop.. We were staying locally on holiday (up from Southampton) and were looking forward to visiting a chip shop up north. This one did not disappoint at all, the prices were good, the food was good, it had a great selection with a choice of takeaways or eat in, They give you a bag of scraps for free if you want one and the gravy is very highly recommended. They guy cooking the food in the takeaway was very friendly and went out of his way to make sure everyone got what they wanted and all the food was cooked fresh. If I had anything to recommend it would be the option to buy a large or standard portion of chips but that’s just because I’m greedy and love chip shop day.

Got fish n chips from grovhill road in Beverly and was the worst I have ever had,I could taste burnt batter on the fish which had been cremated will never get chippy in Beverly again as the own them all now.

Take out fish gets worse and worse, I don't no what there was in the last fish I had but it has put me off eating fish now. I was sick in the afternoon afterwards also. I have given this place chance after chance if it's not soggy floury batter it's manky fish.

We have just had a meal in the restaurant, it’s our fist visit despite living in Driffield a number of years, I had the Salmon and it was absolutely delicious, and then home made Bread and Butter Pudding, hubby had the traditional Fish and Chips and again loved it. Staff were very friendly, professional and very customer focused. We will definitely be making a visit again soon.

Takeaway way over priced! What has happened to your fish? Weird fatty batter & not good scraps! You were always my favourite but too expensive & price not justified for taste, quality & quantity. Disappointing as enjoyed since a kid. It’s Kennedy’s in Driffield all the way for me, for many years & hoping many years to come

I'd move to Driffield just for this fish and chips shop. Honestly.. we were house,-hunting and checking the location out Driffield is very nice and before driving home popped in for 2 medium fish and chips & curry sauce..best F&C's we've had for ages . And for takeaway they come in a lovely box - most do paper but then the steam rises and falls making everything soggy.. good price - big portions and the utter best golden crispy batter I've ever eaten.. honest review...

Two of us shared the mix grill with veg and chips. The other two diners had fish and chips. We were walk ins as we couldn't get through on the phone to book (calling from 3pm) as the phone was constantly engaged. Consistently great food and service at Stuarts.

Usual quality fish and chips and good value ( tea time special). Portions on the large side and we were unable to eat all the chips and peas. Service was friendly and quick.

Wow. We regularly go for a motorcycle group meet . 32 of us this time. Into the restaurant and seated quickly . The food , staff and service is brilliant . Senior special for me as I'm a small eater ... lol well that went wrong . The senior special is massive . Fish chips and gravy and a pudding . ( 10 choices of pudding . ) portions are very good whatever you order . Toilets are lovely and clean , regularly checked by staff. Well worth a visit .

Lovely food in good portions, I really liked the smoked haddock and leek gratin but had to take it home to finish. Puddings on our table were good and the oldies on our party love the senior citizens special! The kids' fish and chips meal is the perfect portion size. Will definitely return on future trips to see those particular oldies!

I had a satisfactory salad ordered from the vegetarian menu as I was disappointed to see that they still use the archaic practice of frying in beef dripping rather than the more ethical and inclusive option of responsibly sourced plant oil!

I stuck to the table I was eating at, there was part of a paper napkin stuck on the table. Thetables need a ggod clean There was that much fat on the table I played noughts and crosses on the fat. ( I lost)

Fantastic fish and chips and great service but very noisy when eating in.

My wife and myself had pensioners meals this afternoon and what amazing value. Beautiful haddock fillets, perfectly cooked, ample delicious chips, tasty mushy peas and a slice of bread and butter each plus a pot of tea to share. I had sticky toffee pudding and cream for dessert and my wife had cheesecake and cream and both were totally delicious. Unbeatable value served in a pleasant environment by pleasant staff. Well done!

Had both take away and dine in from here dozens of time and never been disappointed till recently. 3 months ago all 4 of us threw our take away fish and chips in the bin they were really really bad. Last night we tried again and not much better. Fish was so greasy is soaked through several layers of paper to the outside. Chips were pale, greasy and hard in the middle. One of the fryers was complaining to another member of staff that the flame keeps going out on the fryer which might have explained the poor quality this time but its definitely put me off going again.

Excellent fish, chips and mushy peas! If you are over 60 it also includes a cup of tea, buttered bread and a dessert for £9.50. All the desserts we had were very good especially the Tiramisu. Probably best to book especially Saturday night. Tonight "Friday" we were there shortly after opening at 5pm and it was fully booked! They were turning people away! Fortunately I had taken my own advice and booked in advance. Perfect meal every time!

Amazing food. Hubby had traditional fish and chips, I had hoysoy salmon. The fish was cooked to perfection, veg was fresh and delicious. The best part was the gratin potato, a buttery, cheesy dish of naughtiness. We visit often and will be back again soon. Always wise to book if ypu can.

Very nice place to enjoy sit down Fish and Chips. The Haddock and Chips with Mushy Peas was very tasty. Other dishes are also available. Washed down with a nice bottle of ale.

Hit and miss mostly miss. Chips were slightly hard and not soft at all. Disappointing use to be much better.

Booked a table but arrived 30 minutes earlier than we thought, No problem. They had a table. Ordering was prompt and food arrived in good time. Portions are large and the food was just perfect. The staff are attentive but not overly so.

The poor fish was inedible, overcooked and too much batter, everything was overpriced and tasteless. So disappointing. Meal does not come with peas - these are extra. For a takeaway, the service is the restaurant was so unbelievably slow.

Have been a couple of times now and food has been great and not overpriced. Service is good and the drinks are reasonable price. Place is clean and will be visiting again.

When it's available, the cod is great, but it's a tad annoying when I drive to the Lincoln Way, Beverley shop each Friday for teatime opening and cod is only on offer for half the trips. 😔

Rude waitress, food lovely. Can't believe that if you ask for no chips, there is a big issue! Ridiculous... you should be able to order what you eat without it being a hassle.
