Fantastic chip shop But when the queue is out of the door the staff should really stop chatting to each other and get the queue down !!

I bought two packs of fish and chips, chips were cold and the fish batter was hard as a rock, It must have been the left overs from lunch time. I will not be using your services again a quite costly experience when the food is put in the bin.

I will be avoiding this Chip Shop. The quality of food and service have declined. This isn’t my closest chip shop but up until now, it has always been my preferred Chip Shop. However, since my visit yesterday, where I collected an order, I will not be visiting again. The Order was wrong and the Chips were hard and inedible. Tried to call and complain but no-one answers the phone to deal with my complaint. I shall be finding a new chip shop. Friday night treat ruined and £20 wasted. Hubbie was not happy 😩.

Ordered burgers with chips, chips were cold, burgers order was completely wrong even after repeating the order twice!!

Food was not very warm and will not be visiting again. Portion size has reduced since last visit and price has sky rocketed.

Probably the best chippy in the area, decent value and the food is of good quality. I used to go to the cheaper places in Erdington but for a quid or 2 more you get much better value & quality here. The mixed kebab meat is really good and the fish is also tasty whenever i've had it. You can tell the place is good as there is often a queue out the door. Being a local chip shop its not open too late & closes around 9:30 which does mean that from about 9:00 onwards there may not always be as large a selection

Absolutely shameful !! A disgrace.The older woman with the eyebrow tattooed disgusting how she spoke to customers.Her body language is utterly shocking.Had to wait a very long time for food and wasn’t even that busy. I WONT BE RETURNING.Chips was hard and crusty.You have lost faithful customers.I wouldn’t recommend this hell on earth to my worst enemy.she was Gordon Ramsey at its finiest.CHEEK!!!

Just went to pickup some chips to go with our dinner . Chips were not fresh and cold , no please and thank you from staff . Shame as this was our go to but not again

I ordered from Uber eats when delivered the order was wrong and they messed it up I go to this chip shop a lot and it’s normally amazing , however I called the shop and the manager wouldn’t change the food he said whatever basically and get my money from Uber !!! I asked for the owners name and he told me what do I want that for ? And I’m not making things good for myself !!! How rude !!!! He didn’t give a crap

Situated in Walmley village, this is one of the better fish and chips shops in the area. Thrust mini fish and chips with curry or peas is great value for small appetites. Only drawback is parking as it’s on the main road with very limited places to park in peak times

Best in Walmley. Recommend. Been visiting here for 30 yrs. Hubby has Cod chips peas, I have pie chips peas or Fish special. Nice clean shop thank you 🙋

Been going here for ages. Had friends round from London so we needed a good local chippy to feed us all. 2 fish n chips 1 meat wrap Just over £16 They take cards so no running around for cash. Friends from London said how good value it was and also how good the fish was. I could have told them that myself!! Anyways. Definitely worth a visit. Didn't take pics but the empty plates spoke for themselves.

Have been going here with my family ever since I was a little kid, and I've always been satisfied with the food I've had there. Since going to uni I've missed the chips; I've come across very few chippies that are quite as good! Great donner and tikka meat too. Staff are friendly and the place is clean

This is our regular fish and chip shop. The staff are always helpful and nothing is too much trouble for them. A great place to go. Delicious.

Went tonight, fish rancid and cold, chips underdone and hard, £12.50 of food that was put straight into the bin. On the basis of tonight I would avoid like the Plague.

We take away regularly from here and this place has never disappointed. The best fish and chips we have had ever. Highly recommended.

Following a stressful day at a funeral the fish & chip supper was just what the doctor ordered to round off the day; however the meal was just OK, nothing special & all needed heating up before it was edible. Not the worst Fish & Chip supper but not the best either!

Went to Suttons on Saturday for the first time in ages. The only reason we don't go more often if that it means a short car ride and if I'm feeling up for a takeaway, I want to be able to order it online and have it delivered. How shallow is that? Anyway. bit the bullet on Saturday and drove there and picked up our cod and chips. Wow, made up think on what we had been missing. It was as fantastic as always, the prices are good and the staff very friendly. Will definitely be making the trip again soon.

As a regular customer I am never let down by the excellent quality of the fish here. Don't mess about get a large fish and you will be well satisfied!

Tried this place for a change and it was certainly less greasy than our regular place. Very nice food and will use again.

Food always very fatty tends to repeat on you . Family prefer the one across the road new chips they are frying excellent

This chip shop has such a family feel to it, all the staff are incredibly friendly. The food here is always super fresh too. Parking can be a bit of a nightmare, but this chip shop is definitely worth trying out!

My partner and I have a take out once a week, our go to place is always Sutton Fish Bar. Staff are extremely friendly, the food is always fresh and the whole shop is always clean and tidy!

I grew up in Sutton Coldfield but have lived in the "fish and chip desert" of Oxford since the mid-70s. My treat when I'm visiting family is a Friday evening take-away from the Sutton Fish Bar. Such is its popularity that the queue is often out on the street (in all weathers), so the fish and chips are always as fresh as can be. I think it has won a few awards in the West Midlands. Superb.

Local fish and chip shop. The food is always delicious and freshly cooked. Shop is clean. Can get very busy.

As I live in Walmley and sometimes need to get an evening meal for myself I dont always feel like cooking, having been at work all day. I always go to Suttons and not only because its near to home. I have found the food to be fresh, tasty and nicely cooked. Always piping hot and with an enormous portion of chips. I really can't fault this chip shop and will continue to enjoy the occasional comforting fish and chips or pie and chips. A great place. (No pun intended).

Visited this place for the first time due to the chip shop near our work closing at 1pm!No complaints here, fish and chips were nice, place seemed clean. Staff were friendly.

Pie and chips isn't something you would expect to have to worry about, but so many places fail on either the pie (no decent meat) or the chips (cooked badly). This place gets it right every time.

Easily found in Walmley Village this place produces excellent fish and chips and a variety of other products, sausages, pies, saveloys, etc. Everything is very well cooked and the service is friendly. Portions are very generous so you won't go hungry.So if you are the area and want a take-away this would be an excellent choice.

It's a chip shop easentially, it's not Simpsons, but they do do service with a smile! Better kebab meat down the road, but fab chips! Enjoy!

We fancied fish & chips on a Friday lunchtime and called here as it's just round the corner for us. It was about 10 minutes before closing time, which should make no difference in a chippy. But the server snapped that there was no fish left as it was too late. Anywhere else would have offered to cook fish fresh, and many only ever do fish to order. But not here. The best they could offer was a tired-looking sausage.We suggested we would go across the road to their other branch. (These people have the takeaway market sewn up in Walmley!) The server's parting shot was that they wouldn't have any either! What a cavalier attitude to customers. I presume she had a train to catch.As it happens we did go to the other branch, and they did have fish left. But we shouldn't have bothered. I'm sure it would have been nice when fresh, but dried-up fish in a solid coffin of batter is not what traditional fish & chips is about. Anybody can run a chippy when it's busy, I suppose. But this was well below standard. We shall know better next time and stick to the places we know will prepare fresh.

I use this takeaway a lot and it is always good. Fish is large and good crispy batter also they do Kebabs and chicken which too is always good. Very friendly owners and they always go out of their way to help if what you want is not cooked they will cook it specially for you.

Always go here for chippys; won't go anywhere else round here. Fish, chips, kebabs, chicken are all top notch.

Sutton Fish Bar has been in Walmley, Sutton Coldfield, for many a long year. If you pass it about 6.00pm, there is always a decent queue - which says it all. Good Fish & Chips is very English, very British. The fish is well battered and I know they make their own chips from real, whole potatoes. Sutton Fish Bar now opens for a few hours on Sundays and if you want quality fish'n'chips, there is nowhere better in Sutton Coldfield.
