Dirty hotel. Dirty room. Broken Window had to be propped open with a towel for fresh air. Dirty tables in restaurants. Burnt breakfasts and items missing at breakfast time. Tried to be fobbed off with egg on toast (instead of a full English), husband allergic to egg so waitress offered an omelette (unbelievable). Had cooked breakfast eventually but overcooked. Toilet not cleaned (skid marks) and had to ask 3 times to have it cleaned. Disgusting!! No teas, coffees etc left on second day in room and dirty mugs not removed from room and replaced with clean ones from the day before. On the second day we were told they had a big party and we could not eat until 8pm (turns out this wasn’t true and when we went down to eat we were rushed as they wanted to close the kitchen early). All staff had an awful attitude. Overall experience dreadful.

Lovely place; very good garden for children to play in; outdoor seating - some people braving this in December; quite a few people eating, but staff in control and our food arrived in good time - nice and hot - well done. Been before, but will be returning.

Sunday Lunch for 5 as a last minute idea, we decided to go local. Despite living less than 10 miles from Great Hockham, I had never been to the village and a charming place it turned out to be. The food was traditional pub grub and the portions huge. Service was great and friendly and the meals fantastic. Unfortunately due to a upcoming holiday to Portugal we were all not drinking bar one of our number but we will make up for that at our next visit as there was a good choice of ale, which the locals seemed happy with! Well worth a look!

This is a lovely pub...greeted by friendly staff and a nice logburner with high back chairs to sit in.....reason for our visit was to celebrate birthdays, the menu choices are good and very reasonable, would recommend the sausage & mash, battered cod &chips and sticky toffee pudding 😋 Steven our host was very brilliant at remembering what we all ordered...and played a fanfair birthday when he brought out the cake.. Nice touch 😁 we all appreciated it....👍 Will defo come again here as its well worth the money. Thank you for acomidating us all....kind regards
