Swinton Buffet in Salford

Unfortunately, for me this place is now a no go. Thought we'd give it another try after they had some work done to update the interior, but a (6pm Sunday) visit and there is no food. Not impressed at all.

They recently renovated and it looks great. The price of the food went up by £2, it's still the cheapest buffet around but not as much as it bargain as it once was. I go there once or twice a month.

Went ere.for tea, there were kids running around with no parents in pursuit drinks was reasonably priced even tho the redbull was cheap stuff but still the food was coming out in small portions like it was a hassle to cook a batch of it, the chicken was slimey and undercooked , the salt and pepper chicken was rock hard , s&p chips was just dried chips laced in salt the rice dried out and the c&s soup wow very tasteless took 1 mouthful and couldn't eat any more of it , the puddings there was apple pieces doused in blackcurrant to make em red (probably the only good bit of the meal the cakes was pre-cut in a sizable portion for a reception child small triangle pieces the staff was nice and polite and had to keep asking chef to refill the cannisters for food even tho was small bowl refills on leaving the restaurant I was sick so I will not be revisiting this place for food on the other hand I may return for drinks the menu is very minimal of what u can have best opinions for u avoid this place

Just left this awful place food cold had to ask for the glasses to be washed did not have much to offer low prices lower standards staff should tidy themselves up the place was freezing I will never go back needs a good manager could be a money pot but not at this standerd the one star is because it won't let me post no stars

Great friendly and polite staff good value for money food is good always hot nothing is too much trouble for the staff family friendly myself and my daughter always go here when we want Chinese as we can never agree on one think so ideal if you want good food service with a smile I recommend here we went today myself my daughter and her friend tasty food

The price is reasonable but the food was shocking there was barely any food out and when they did bring some out they brought small portions so the trays were empty. Some of the food was sloppy and undercooked,the floor was filthy and slippy we won't be going back again

Been here a few times as is a cheaper alternative to takeaway , food is really good in all honesty, BUT the interior is in a state and in dire need of a revamp and modernising . A lick of paint would go a long way just to brighten the place up and cleaning and sorting of the windows as one unfortunately leaked during a rainy night while we were sat there. For a budget place it's great but needs some money investing 👍

These people are obviously writing there own reviews because there is no way in a million years you could step out of that reastraunt say that food was tasty, reasonably and delicious. The food was ridiculously over priced and the service was shocking, the floor was dangerously slippy, the staff was arguing behind the counter and when they were restocking the food they were bringing minimul amounts of food out and if that doesn't put you off I dont know what will except from the fact when we had our pudding I had to pull out a long black hair out of my sons mouth as he was eating his ice cream. It was such a poor experience we are currently sat in the car laughing our heads off so if you are up for a laugh you could go there but over all do not go there at any circumstances. All I can say about this experience is bizarre.

Absolutely banging chinese buffet, affordable and great choice of food. Staff were polite and quick at taking plates away. Going to be new favourite restaurant.

Disgusting dried up meat and the rest swimming in water you couldn't pay me to eat here 2 people out of my family have had d&v since eating here i didn't eat anything thank God dirty glasses of coke stale desserts silly us thinking it may have changed since the refurb stay away unless you want to pay to be ill...

Terrible. The cheapest nastiest Chinese I have ever had. The only thing that I would give more than 1 star, were the prawn crackers.

If you are just after good value then this is recommended. Fairly good choice from the buffet, all the food was hot and tasted pretty good. Service is non existent and the decor is unusual, never seen a full wall image of a golf course in a Chinese buffet before 😳😳 can't argue with the price though👍

Amazing transformation and food fantastic as normal loads of choice. Decor is a massive change. Staff are amazing and friendly.

It's literally like you're walking on ice ?! So unless you're a professional ice-skater, then take a helmet and elbow pads !. The presentation in the food area is also much better, however I think there's less salt on the famous 'Salar De Uyun' than there is in the food !! Unfortunately we won't be going back, but I'll give it the 1* for the entertainment we had, watching other diners trying to walk on ice with plates of food ! 🤣

Awful decor the floor is very slippy. The food isn't great and it looks dirty and tired. Staff are rude and pushy interrupting you and wanting you to leave ASAP. Wouldn't come hear again. Zero parking toilets not clean.

Haven't been for a while, but was pleasantly surprised today, it looks completely different an looks a hell of a lot better, clean & fresh. The grandchildren love it, great value for money

Service was appalling, rude bar staff most of food cold, watery and tasteless very unwelcomeing place in all. Will never go back.

Would not recommend this place,very poor food,staff not very helpful or friendly all they want is your money bum's on chairs get your money and want you to leave as soon as possible, anyone with food allergies they don't want to cater for very little help. This is definitely a place to avoid at all cost. No disabled toilets and the toilets are dirty and very poor.

We went with family on a Sunday afternoon and had a good buffet meal. Look at my other reviews to see where I've been!

We went to swinton buffet we are not a happy customer I got burn on the rice the staff are very rude the food was cold I had to shout the staff 3 times to put in the microwave I will not go again thank you

Now this is what we're talking about As far as all you can eat buffets are concerned I definitely didn't walk out feeling hungry definitely hit the right Spot good selection of different varieties of food 😋

first time revisiting since it’s been done up and i must say i’m impressed the place looks fantastic it’s great value for money the food was lovely too the staff are always so polite and well mannerd will certainly be coming back again so if your looking for value for money this is the place to go

It's the first time we have been here since the place has been done up, and first thoughts were really good. The place looked miles better but!! The floor was like an ice ring. It's was really slippery. Clearly not thought about when re doing the place up. We sat down, and the humidity hit us like a brick in the face. It was hot and stuffy, god knows why they hadn't put the air conditioning on 😞 anyways I go up to get some food with my eldest and .......there was no food, (take in mind its sunday at 7pm.) just the odd little bit in the bottom of the trays. The owner said the food will be out soon. About 15mins later, the food had started to come out. I give it to them the food was good once it came out and I was happy 😊. My kids only ate a little bit and was excited to go try the deserts. They wish they never bothered. The only icecream that was edible was the blue one, the rest looked like they have been there for years. It was the same old deserts they had before revamping the place. 😞 I'm sorry, swinton buffet, we will not be returning in the future.

Food is absolutely on point shame about the decor would recommend this place to friends and family if it was done up and redecorated would be much more welcoming

not gonna lie love this place......but we travel a long way to get there! checked Google business hours which said they were open all day!drove down only to find it closed for refurbishment! please update this.......

Drove over 30 mins to here and place was shut! So seen as the owner couldnt bother to inform anyone on here, then its closed cos of refurbishment by looks of scaffolding outside.

Amazing. We were on holiday and drove over an hour to come here. And it didn't disappointing. Amazing service as soon as you walk in and food was fantastic!!!

I go here once or twice a month, usually on a Saturday and I always have a good experience. All you can eat buffet for £5.90 or £6.90 it's a complete bargain.cheaper than ordering a takeaway for delivery. The food pans are always full when I arrive and the food is fresh. The staff is wonderful, always quick to clear the empty plates of the table. I always look forwards to going here, it's cheaper than Mc Donald's. So next time your kids want to go to Mc Donald's take them to Swinton buffet instead 🤣 you'll get more for your money

It's worse than a labour club inside. Needs a lot of money spent on it. But for the price of food can't complain about the food. Staff are ok

Really good little buffet. Excellent value for money. The building is a bit run down, but it doesn't spoil the experience. Lovely staff and tasty food! We keep on coming back regularly.

It's tricky. The place needs modernising and the hygiene rating is 3 (June 23). Realised this half way through eating! If they improve it would drive the prices up! If they don't improve I imagine people will stop going. I've been before and this visit was by far the worst for me. Feels dirty, not much fresh food out and £9.90 each, plus drinks. Me and my partner said this is the last time we will visit. It just doesn't feel very nice to be eating in a place like this

Very pleased overall it depends what you want really it's not posh it's a down to earth nosh up that's friendly and I prefer this place rather than a toffee nosed gaff anyday of the week

It has a lot of options. It's Asian related. First time going there's and I must say it's been fun. It has a community vibe, so peeps are very friendly. So just go in, try a taste of everything, see what you like and some more.

The place was awful with cold food. The rrom was too hot. my pint was flat. Shame as swinton is a very posh place full of rich and good people like my unlce John who is now in prison for punching a staff member in the face long story short. bad review

have been here a few times and I can honestly say this was the worst , food was cold hardley anything available and when a family from hell came in you didn't gave a chance they were just clearing all the food ie: prawns , ribs cakes the lot there table was full of wasted food , I do think staff should keep an eye on this behaviour spoilt my meal came away hungry

Went in 8pm sat night place was dead 2 other people in there food was appalling cleaner was sweeping up under table as we was eating I had half a plate partner had 1 mouthfull when I asked why it was so bad just got told having it refurbished in the near future??? Still full price tho defo wont be going back

There is a severe black mold problem on the walls throughout the establishment. This poses a health risk to both employees and customers, and it is unacceptable to serve food in such an environment. Immediate action must be taken to address this issue.

I beg you, do not go to this buffet, definitely the worst food experience I’ve had, no food selection, the food that was available was terrible, the building is an old broken down pub, surprising that places like this are actually open for public consumption in 2024.

A place where to go if you are low on a budget and want to have a full stomach. 'All you can eat' for a good price. But don't expect anything else and rather don't look around much - cleanliness is not among their strengths.

Food tasted good but after 30 minutes, i violently shat myself in the middle of the restaurant. Got food poisoning and vomited all day, even shat myself at work, disgrace.

I'm baffled that people gave 1 start to this palce. What would you expect for £6.90? It's a cappuccino and a pastry in many coffe shops. Pathetic

Everything loaded up with salt. Place is an absolute dive. The prawns were dry inside . The spare ribs were in a tray full Of what was meant to be sauce but looked like water. Be interesting to see how many minus points this place would get on a food rating. Guy replenishing food with dirty fingernails. I can see why they charge so little because the food is about as fresh as frozen 😬😬😬

Given the very reasonable price for the midweek buffet I was quite impressed by how very nice the food was. I usually go to Indian buffets but for a change I gave this place a try. On entering we was greeted by a very friendly member of staff who asked us to choose any table that was free. I wouldn't say there was a massive selection of food on offer but more than enough to satisfy most people especially for the price. We were two people having the buffet with two soft drinks, we was charged about £25 for both of us. Great value !! We actually chatted to the owner a very pleasant lady who told us that the place would be closing soon for a short time to undergo redecoration. In fairness the place would gain a lot from this as it did look a little tired but don't let that put you off giving this place a visit I'm sure you won't be disappointed.

Absolutely awful. Service just looked like they didn't want to be there. Food dry, cold and beef like leather boots. Selection small and what they did have just ran out. Decor outdated and not clean, someone was being sick in the toilet, prob cos the food. But soup was nice! So had 3 bowls of that instead with some stake crackers to fill me up.

Place was freezing n felt damp chairs felt damp ..food wasn't warm ..having to eat with your coat on shivering it's not good ..food wasn't great either its wasn't warm to begin with and by the time you sat down it was cold ..staff are lovely though but won't go back ..place needs a complete refurbishment..

Amazing value!! Came here on a Saturday night. So reasonable for what you get. Lots of choices of dishes. Particularly liked the crispy chilli beef, sweet and sour chicken, chicken balls, duck pancakes. Very good quality. Very friendly and helpful girl working on the till aswell. Food topped up regularly, almost constantly actually. Also do a good choice of desserts. Would definitely return if in the area.

I must say the buffet is very well priced at £6-10 so unbeatable prices. There was An average amount of food options each one was tasty and fresh. A few options for desserts with fruits cake and ice cream which I would rate highly. Nothing complex or fancy just nice comfort Chinese buffet However the place does need a little of an update as it isn’t a pleasant area of space. But other than the revamps this place is great. Would rate 4.5/5 just because of the revamp food was good and service was amazing. Also extremely budget friendly, something nice to get you and your family out for the evening. Thankyou for dinner, I will be coming back but would really like to see a revamp after doing so.

If I could give a minus rating I would. Everything about this place is vile. It’s filthy with dirty chairs full of grime. Food is vile I ate nothing the place needs closing down. Anyone wanting to eat here is clearly desperate wouldn’t feed this slop to an animal.

The food was satisfactory, but the atmosphere lacked comfort. It felt unclean and made it unpleasant to unwind and enjoy the meal.I do not recommend this place at all.

The building is very tired and has a damp problem in the restaurant area its well over due a refurbishment I don't think it's ever been refurbished since it was a pub food was OK for the price some dishes were really nice others a bit bland overall was OK but seriously they need to sort the damp decor out

Awful!!! Please don't be deceieved by the good reviews, the food is awful! The decor is awful, the hygiene is awful, the price is cheap for a reason! The food was not hot, one dish of beef and one dish of pork balls and I hope you like chicken because the rest is guess what?Chicken! Which tasted like it had been grown and mutated in a fish pond, it wouldn't surprise me if I end up with food poisoning by the end of tonight, the kitchen porter clearly doesn't know how to wash cutlery as when she put fresh cutlery out it still had old food on the pieces of cutlery, you have to serve your dinner on a plastic plate! I mean come on, we're not at school anymore, how people can say its good food is beyond me, only one member of staff seemed pleasent, but clearly did not look old enough to be serving alcohol, the blinds have big gaps in them down the middle and the air con fans in the wall are coverd in celotape to stop the cold coming in, absoulty awful. The chef was sat on the floor in the rain smoking, coughing and sneezing into his hands, what a disgrace of a restaurant! Trading standards need to investigate this dump ASAP!

This place has gone downhill, and I've been coming here since childhood. Most of the food was cold , chips not fully cooked, noodles crispy . Mould and other muck on walls. Staff eating the food or on the mobile phone. Very little kids options. Noodles on the ice cream spoons. Old prawn Crackers. This place has seen better days. It's put us of returning, and I won't be recommending .

Went with my 2 children here today and it was absolutely brilliant. The food was delicious and good amount to choose from, desserts were really tasty. Staff were very kind and lovely. I was reading the comments before I went and I was scared but let me assure you that the comments made by some people here are so unfair. I would defo recommend this place and we will be coming back.

Not fine dining but the the food is good and well priced

It's cheap & cheerful opening times are incorrect.They close at 3pm and open again at 4.30 Friday to Sunday so don't get caught out.

To be honest, it was so cheap, I mean, all you can eat for £6.90! However dont expect great quality food or furniture, the staff were lovely though

I've been going here with my family since I've been like 4 and now I'm 14 so for over 10 years I've been going here. But the place has definitely changed. Before it had a good atmosphere and the owner was around helping being kind and welcoming. But now he's gone it doesn't feel the same. But the staff do a great job for what they are doing. Food is always good all the 10 years. And I can agree with everyone else the place definitely needs are re vamp but because the place is so large it would cost a lot of money and they would have to close for quite some time so it's understandable why they are choosing to not do it. But all In all this place is great for your money's worth and a must come.

Literally no food out when arrived, no plates, no forks, asked kitchen staff where the food was started to refill, large groups of people taking 3 and 4 plates each soon as food started coming so nothing left. No deserts in fridge, awful, worst place I've ever been. Don't bother.

Unfortunately this place has gone down in food quality since the last time we were there a few years ago. It is cheap and the selection of food is limited compared with years ago. Plenty of tables available on arrival. Pay up front with your drinks and then help yourself. Cheap and cheerful for quick chinese buffet food if that's what you want.

We are in here as I’m writing this review and the food is absolutely unbearable, we didn’t even eat the meat it looks like food poison, all we’ve eaten is rice and chips lol…. The best thing to eat here is the frozen Iceland chocolate cake they have… the glasses are dirty and the cokes are flat might as well drink water. The staff are rude, one of them literally gave a look of disgust to my face. They don’t know Customer service or just basic manners it’s common sense!!! The docor is vile, everything is falling apart, it feels and looks like you are in a old fashioned pub/ food on the side. They literally cover holes in the wall with flower pots🤣 what a shame. You are sitting on pub chairs in a “restaurant”… You don’t know who works here because the staff where anything. The atmosphere is overly crowded and you can’t even hear yourself think… everything is just cheap. The smell, the atmosphere, the food, the people… As soon as you step in you can smell the price🤣😂 fml 🤦‍♀️ They sit customers right in front of the toilet… One of the customers sitting at the table behind us threw up on the table bless him…. And the mum said to the staff I’m sorry it’s put me off eating and the staff just walked away as she was speaking… This is the worst “restaurant” we have ever stepped in, don’t put yourself through it we did it for you.

Where to start, if you like the idea of a butlins caravan for your yearly holiday you'd be right at home. Food was edible, id have had a better dining experience if i was deaf and blind though. Wont be returning.

I appreciate the staff requesting vegetarian dishes as they will make a veggie option for you. The vegetarian Singapore noodles medium spicy are amazing. My go to buffet serving Chinese food.
