Attempted to visit on Sunday evening, most of the tables were sticky and tv volume was at full blast. Very rough atmosphere. The two girls behind the counter had a bad attitude and didn’t know what they were doing. Asked for a bottle of Picpoul and didn’t know what it was. When I told her white wine she opened the fridge and I could see some already poured glasses, some wine inside the metal pourers in the middle of a messy fridge. It did put me off and left straightaway. They didn’t question it simply couldn’t care less.

My other half and I had spent a day at the V&A museum and decided to head back towards Sloane Square to find a quieter place for a bit of late lunch and stumbled across this gem of a pub. It was exactly what we were looking for: a relaxing atmosphere, filling food, and excellent dessert. My partner had the steak sandwich, medium rare, and it was cooked to perfection and I was very jealous of her meal as it looked incredible. We stayed longer than intended and left very satisfied and well fed. The manager was also very friendly and chatty and filled us in on the brilliant, homemade sticky toffee pudding which was just as good as he said. Would absolutely go again.

My wife and I popped into this pub for a Sunday lunchtime drink as it was a very hot day. I’m a lager drinker and I knew it sold at least one good one. However when ordering our drinks I was told, ‘sorry we’ve sold out of Peroni,’ Ok I thought, I’ll have a pint of Madri, I got the same answer. Well in that case I’ll try the Asahi, once again, sold out. Ok I said, what bottled lager do you have? Only Corona zero, I was told. The explanation was the pub had been very busy because of the hot weather and Royal Ascot had been showing on the tv. Well forgive me if I’m wrong, but the race meeting runs every year, and the hot weather was forecast 2 weeks prior. Needless to say we took our custom to The Chelsea Potter in Kings Road who had all beers available, and had a better choice. We won’t bother returning during the summer, because it’s clearly a lottery whether they’ve ordered enough beer.

This used to be a lovely fun pub. Hopefully it will be one day again. Our experience was a bad one. Warm beer - at bonkers prices (£7 a pint) and really really average food. No doubt the pandemic has meant it’s been a struggle for businesses but can’t see many returning until standards improve. Staff are still super friendly but it’s clear the closedown has affected this place.

We spent the afternoon here for ascot ladies day. The service was great and the bar food was lovely especially the goujons. However one the racing finished Ann’s people obviously returned from ascot it was dreadful. The COVID rules required table service only however the owner and manager allowed too many people in and were servicing people at the bar with no masks. It made us feel extremely uncomfortable. I challenged the owner as we left and he said he can’t stop people doing what they want..he was extremely arrogant and should have been in control. My only other comment is that the toilets are disgusting. Such a shame our day ended that way.

I eat here fairly regularly. It is consistently good pub grub. From the calamari, to the shrimp and avocado on toast to the chicken and chorizo risotto. Prices are reasonable and usually the clientele is a mix of old and young enjoying a drink or meal, from the local area. Sometimes, unfortunately, you get the pretentious youth who speak to loud about their hedge fund jobs and trust funds. Overall, a great pub.

If you have never had a half pint of sausages, a pint of Landlord and a list of mini bar food goodies, you've missed the Sydney Arms.Like most Chelsea pub, it is crowded and cramped but in this case, there are nooks and crannies that you can reserve and enjoy the rest squashed next to the bar.The pub grub is terrific, particularly the scallops and min-fish and chips. Kids and wheelchairs are catered for and the atmosphere is less banker and more cosmopolitan footie fans. The staff are almost always Italian, French or other European, so it is a great place to avoid Brexiteers and the service is terrific. The Landlord ale is always good and they have guest ales which for the most part have been worthy of my supping.A fantastic variety of fresh, well prepared food and a jovial atmosphere.

We decided that we would go to a pub for dinner tonight and in walking around the neighborhood found The Sydney Arms. Seemed quite busy but they were able to accommodate us in spite of some football game that was live on TV. We ordered the scampi appetizer and the roasted tomato/red pepper soup - both of which were quite good. The scampi come out looking like deep fried scallops but once you get beyond the batter, it is a portion of the scampi inside. My partner's main was steak and frite (rib eye) with your choice of peppercorn or bernaise sauce on the side - he ordered it medium rare and it came out medium at best, more like well done and the peppercorn sauce had about 3 or 4 green peppercorns floating around in the sauce which was tasteless. I was a bit luckier - I ordered one of the specials: the half order of cornish lobster thermidor with fries - the fries were tasteless and the salad that accompanied the lobster had dirty leaves throughout. The lobster dish itself was quite nice. And not once did either of the two young waitresses come and inquire about our meals. When it came time to pay, it turned out that they brought the wrong bill which we paid....only looking at it more closely did we realize that it was not our bill. That then created a problem as neither one of the waitresses knew how to go into the credit card machine and void that particular transaction. They offered to refund the incorrect bill but why so we could get caught on currency exchange. We ended up paying the difference between the two bills. Not impressed one little bit....think the staff/management is more concerned about getting people in there to drink and watch football....don't bother going - lots of other pubs about.

This is generally a cracking pub with excellent food and I would generally recommend this however the Timothy Taylor's 'Landlord' beer we chose was terribly cloudy and should not have been brought to our table. Was it poor quality service or knowingly deliberate? Most experienced bar staff would see the beer was 'not right' and offer an alternative. Not in this case...however in balance a replacement was requested and brought without quibble and the food was terrific.P.S. Don't be fooled into thinking you can park nearby. The car park in Sydney street takes just 80 cars and is chocca from early morning. The rest is residents parking and the traffic wardens swarm like flies round a carcass.

Located just off the King's Road, close to the Royal Marsden, this is a quintessential "Hurray Henry" pub. Large TV screens were showing the Ashes and, on the mid-July Thursday lunchtime we were there, the clientele were 95% male, middle aged, public school and all very pukka; "Made In Chelsea" it was not. Outside every other car was a black Range Rover with drug dealer windows, the rest were Ferraris with pass through exhausts. The pub has some nice al fresco seating but the black metal tables in the sun were too hot to touch so the interior with punkahs on the ceiling made a cool eating place in both senses of the word. .Visited with my interning daughter in the middle of the working day: one slightly small but tasty pepperoni pizza, one lemonade and one ginger beer, £17.00 is that good value? The pizza was thin and crispy but took the best part of 20 minutes to arrive - how hard can it be?.St Luke's church Portico Cafe and garden next door with a sandwich would have been a good alternative.

I write that because the pub's owner owns at least two horses, and the TV sets are tuned to races (with sound off). People from the very mixed Chelsea neighborhood gather here for a typical gastropub dinner with a wide range of beers and ales. Ordinary people like us and a group of extremely well-dressed men in their 50s were standing around talking. These streets in Chelsea are littered with Ferraris, Maseratis, Aston-Martins, and Porches, but this independent neighborhood pub — which means it's not owned by a massive brewery chain — is a gathering place, one of the old-time pubs.

Met up at Sydney arms with some friends visiting London - they picked this place because they wanted to see the rugby game. I wish I had eaten before.. Very poor roasted chicken - greasy and total lack of flavours. Fries were soft and tasteless. I tried one of my husband's mini burgers and it was terrible too. This place is really just for drinks and watching sports. I will not judge the service as this place was a madhouse because of the game, maybe it is better on a normal day.

This pub is great. My friend recommended it to me, and I took a couple of mates for a pair of pints and some food. The bar is busy with obvious locals, and has a nice atmosphere, not too noisy but a bit of a buzz. We had some of the snack menu items whilst we chilled drinking our brace of beers, which were great. There is some great options, like half a pint of cocktail sausages, deep fried squid, pint of prawns and the best scotch egg i have ever had.Really nice pub with good atmosphere and great bar snacks, would definitely return next time i'm in Chelsea.

Had dinner in the Sydney Arms last night with an old friend, excellent food, service and atmosphere and very good value. I had the home made cottage pie which was excellent and my friend had a delicious steak, followed by the chease board. The interior is very well designed, reminiscent of a Parisian bar. I would certainly recommend this bar to anyone.

On a bien envie d'y retourner d'ailleurs.

I rented a flat around the corner and stumbled on this terrific pub/brasserie. The service was welcoming and friendly. I was dining alone and the staff made me feel very comfortable. I found the food and wine to be top notch and a definite step above "pub fare." The Chelsea location, just off the Kings Road on Sydney Street, makes this a convenient stop for shoppers.

Lovely proper pub, delicious food, friendly staff, will definitely visit again. This pub was showing the Rugby which was great because it wasn't too busy and we had a delicious lunch whilst watching the game. Great find!

Went here as part of a wedding group. We all loved it . Tons of champers and nibbles. They reserved a section for us and turned on the fans as we were all over dressed. This might be my new Chelsea sneaky pint.

this is a horse pub... meaning those that love watching the racing who arent at the meets will be here, with lots of tv's showing the races. If there is football on they will show this on one screen so dont worry if you love both. They even have their own race horse. The staff are friendly, the bar snacks are phenomenal... lots of different ideas whether they be mini fish and chips to newmarket cocktail sausages its a lot more exciting than a packet of crisps. the beer selection i believe is good, but i am drinking the wine..... without knowing the official name order the rose with bycycle on the label.. they will know what you mean... a great blush. This is also a brasserie so if you want something more to eat you have the tables at the back, and with tables outside as well its a friendly corner pub, without too many pretentious drinkers (considering the chelsea crowd arent too far away)

A group of us all had drinks and dinner here and all the food was poor. It looked nice, but was all so incredibly bland. I don't know where they get their products from, but think they need to rethink their suppliers. Can honestly say i've had tastier food in hospital. Had to send my luke warm steak back. It's expensive food too.We also had to keep serving ourselves, after waiting very long times went and found our own menus, went to the bar to order a round, went back to the bar to ask for someone to come and take another drinks order from us. I wouldn't eat here again. Also for the fact that I wrote them a physical letter (they're not on email) to give them a chance, two months later I still haven't heard back. I wouldn't recommend this place. A shame as I wanted to visit for years only to be a bit embarrassed for my colleagues over in the UK on a work trip.

Been to the Sydney Arms a couple of times after work at approx 7-7.30pm.The staff were friendly and we were seated in the cozy dining area which is the other side of the busy and bustling bar. Service was excellent on both visits and the food of a decent gastropub standard.Prices were not cheap, but not unreasonable for Chelsea. The dining area is quite small and all tables occupied on both visits so you're probably advised to book a table.

One of our friends recommended this place to us when we visited London. We'd been doing some shopping on the Kings Road and its two mins walk down from Chelsea Town Hall/Heals. We had an excellent lunch - squid to start - my wife had sea bass and I had entrecote steak. Great choice of wines. Staff very friendly and helpful. Owner was chatty and seemed a bit of a character. Thought we spied racing legend Peter O Sullevan a few tables down from us. Highly recommended when in Chelsea. Sensible prices for London. Loads of tvs - apparantly its a good place to catch football, rugby etc..

Visited this place alongwith family and lived the place. We ordered for Victorian sponge cakes, black coffee and Vegan Oat cookies. Believe me, the sponge cake was splendid and had never tasted such beautiful sponge cake before. A must visit place for food lovers

No te molestes. Ahorra tu dinero.

Pub in un quartiere elegante. Personale molto gentile e disponibile. Hamburger e insalate ottimi.
