Tamarind Indian Restaurant in Tower Hamlets

Vi feiret vår bryllupsdag her, og vi ble ikke skuffet! Vi tok en dele-meny, og fikk servert flere småretter med den nydeligste indiske mat. Servitørene var oppmerksomme og hyggelige, de sørget for at vi alltid hadde vin i glasset og passet på at vi hadde alt vi trengte. Vi hadde en meget hyggelig kveld, og anbefaler gjerne både maten og stedet videre.

I use to visit old tamarind in Mayfair the quality of food was much better as compare to now , yes they have renovated it I ll give 10/10 for ambience but food I ll give 7/10 . Not upto the tamarind mark .

Excellent food. Everybody was happy with their dish (we were a large group). Nice atmosphere. Very busy. Needs advanced booking. Strongly recommend!

Meine Freundin und ich hatten Appetit auf indisches Essen, ganz in der Nähe des Hotels gab es dieses Restaurant. Wir nahmen beide das MittagsMenu- und es fehlte an nichts.Die Vorspeise, Lachs, war einfach hervorragend und die beiden Hauptspeisen (Tandoori Chicken und das vegetarische Gericht) mit den Beilagen waren von äusserst guter Qualität. Alles sehr schmackhaft und auch sehr schön präsentiert. Service war auch sehr gut.

Either this address is wrong or this restaurant doesn't exist. Don't bother heading towards here as you will be very disappointed

No había estado en Tamarind durante muchos años, pero fue un placer descubrir que los estándares de comida excelente y un servicio agradable había sido mantenido. This restaurant reopened with new decor & new menu for Indian food. Food is very tasty . Service is excellent and friendly. One of the best Indian restaurant in London , quality of food wise

It was great night, fantastic food, friendly staffs and great environment. I loved the flavour of chicken curry. We enjoyed throughly.

This place was bland both in terms of experience and more importantly, the food. The place is tightly packed in the basement...but I actually did enjoy the atmosphere. However the food was tasteless. The Hara Gobi Tikki (broccoli cakes) were dry and packed with ginger...we couldnt taste any of the other ingredients.We got free papadums and sauces which were snatched away by our waiter WHILE we were eating because our appetisers arrived. To be fair, the food, while unexciting, waa very light and it was the first time I ever had indian food without it sticking to my skin for days on afterwards. You also get a small white chocolate coated mint leaf to cleanse your palate which was very nice.If this place still carries a Michelin star then Id be surprised because the food was truly bland, boring and forgettable. Maybe the Michelin star was for the tiny portions? I wouldnt waste money here...I am sure there are many better alternatives in London.

This is a very good Indian restaurant in London. The food is 5 star and the service is also very good. They have a very good menu and a good location.

What a great hidden gem. It took some navigating to find Tamarind, but when we entered the restaurant, we knew we were in the right place. The service was outstanding. The timing and attention to our table both were wonderful. The food? Again, they deserve this rating. The food was just wonderful from the appetizers through the dessert, there is nothing missing. They offer a well stocked bar and very deep wine list. I whole heartily recommend giving Tamarind a visit your next trip to London.

Best Indian Restaurant I have ever been, the food was exceptional, it was very busy when we were there but the service was good, highly recommended

Upscale Indian restaurant with excellent services and extensive wine list! What else can you ask for? Try the Mirchi Gosh and experience the multiple spice flavors exploiting in your mouth. Best Lamb dish ever!and hoe about Naan with date and Coconut

I certainly do not mind paying for quality, but this was very disappointing indeed. Let me explain...The restaurant is plain and too bright. The food is certainly a disappointment, lamb cutlets - 3 of them about the size of a desert spoon £20 plus, to add insult to injury they were okay, but not great.Chicken Tikka four pieces ( I suspect thigh meat) over £20....A glass of wine £17.50.... Not one part of the meal was what I would call exceptional, just average.The bill £180 for two including them sneaking on 12.5%, yes I know you can take it off, however the service was good and it's not the waiters fault the food was disappointing.It's simply not that special.

Had to try a michelin starred indian restaurant (also got an email that they retained it for next year. Used open table for a dinner reservation. The front of the house was pleasant and they escorted us to our table downstairs (basement). Service was excellent, shrimp malabar was tasty, but the rest of the food was just okay. Could not say that I would recommend the restaurant or that I was blown away enough to return.

We were celebrating our friend's anniversary at Lunch and chose this restaurant. The starters were great and the service was fantastic. Perhaps because this is a Michelin starred restaurant we were expecting wow presentation and food, which this was not - but still definitely worth a try!

The food was very good, and quite expensive. And one in our party saw himself as a wine buff ....errrr...so ordered a sixty pound bottle of Riesling. Now, a sommelier and a sweet Riesling in an Indian restaurant???? Stick to beer. It's an Indian curry house.

What a terrific restaurant. The service, the ambiance, and the meal were exceptional. It deserves all the Michelin ratings it has received. Definitely a go-to if you're a lover of Indian cuisine!!

Me and my wife came here for a meal, away from the kids while we were in London. I have to say this is probably the best Indian mean I have ever had. First class food and service! We had the Tandoori Prawn to start and Butter Chicken for the main course. Try the Cardamom infused beer its addictive! Shame we cant get that beer in Canada.

Way overpriced, average food, service is very attentive. Great pistachio ice cream, wine selection is excellent but prices are very steep

This is a beautiful restaurant in the heart of Mayfair. The service was outstanding and I was particularly impressed with our waiter who remembered our whole order without writing it down! There is an interesting choice of dishes on the menu with a tasting menu too. I particularly liked the cocktail I ordered which had a spice flavour. The food was good when it arrived but I came away thinking I had tasted equally lovely lamb and black daal at other Indian restaurants at a fraction of the price. Earlier in the week we had eaten at another Michelin starred restaurant which was far superior. All in all a good restaurant with very tasty and well presented food but it didn't blow me away.

For me a good curry is usually surrounded by flock wall paper and radioactive coloured popadom sauce. It's what I grew up with and I guess what I like. So I always find posh Indian restaurants with vintage wine lists weird. Anyway this was a work visit and not my choice. But wow did it exceed expectations. Flavour. service. Atmosphere. All excellent. Of course not cheap, but you get what you pay for here. Worth a visit.
