Don't bother making the trek as this place has closed down. They are leasing it again so hopefully another restaurant takes its place but for now there is nada, nothing, zip, zero here.

With the other branch of this small chain of tapas restaurants, 'temporarily closed' we thought we would give this one a try. Quite different to the one we were used to, all the dishes were a pleasant surprise. Tops was probably the patatas bravas, freshly cooked, hot crisp and very tasty with fine dip in sauce. The tortilla was a bit meagre but extremely good as was the marinated chicken. Wan't sure about the ham croquettes but the meatballs were excellent. Nicely designed eatery with busy atmosphere despite the odd location as part of a new housing development, off Blackheath Hill in Deptford and we will be back. Particularly impressed by the fact we were allowed to pour our own wine, the waitress simply opened it for us and also that at the end we were given complimentary drinks and ice cream. Always welcome and a nice touch to round off our first visit. Thank you.

Exploring our local area we tried this tapas place on a Saturday night and were left feeling really underwhelmed and regretting our decision to eat there.Perhaps we should have read the warning signs when we were told the selection of Ibericos and cheeses was - "some ham, some sausage and cheddar". It wasn't cheddar (as we suspected), but it was not just the one cheese and no bread was provided. It would not be too hard to replicate this fare from the Tesco a minute's walk away. The aubergine dish we went for had the most thinly sliced aubergine you could imagine, covered in a thick batter which was the only taste. This was the low point. The only saving grace was the patatas bravas which were well done. We may have made some poor decisions with our menu choices but sadly we won't be coming back.

Seriously do not go there for food. The cooking is disgusting! No prawns and no Jamon in a tapas place? Gotta be kidding. Ordered a calamari tapas only 6 on the plate. End up leaving the place after 5 mins after the food came. Didn't touch them. The food will make you feel sick after tasting it. I refused to pay.

I had a wonderful experience at this restaurant. The staff are very friendly and to me, this is one of the most important factors of a restaurant. The food was delicious, excellent tapas cooked to perfection. My first experience at Taperia was on a Tuesday where they had "Caribbean Night" with a wonderful friendly Jamaican chef. My family and myself really enjoyed that evening so we went back a week later on a Monday. They did not have the Caribbean Night on that Monday so we indulged ourselves with delicious Tapas!A restaurant not to be missed! :)

We used a tastecard, and were given a different menu to the other customers, with fewer options. We ordered some extra bread that never came.We ordered 6 tapas dishes and were brought them as 2 then 3 then 1, with significant waiting periods between so we basically ate the dishes on their own. We had to remind the waiter for our 6th dish which I saw him accidentally give to another table, who returned it to him, and then he brought the same dish to us after our reminder. We weren't offered a dessert, and had to wait 20 minutes before someone came over so we could ask for the bill.Food was pretty good although several of the dishes seemed to be reheated rather than fresh. The wine was very nice but the service was pretty appalling. Glad we had the tastecard because I would have felt cheated if I'd have paid full price.

We have been going to Taperia for the last 6 months and there is loads that needs doing to improve it. They have recently brought in 'bar food' to expand on Spanish only food, however the fish and chips we had we suspect was from Iceland, not unlike our friends at Green Village Restaurant in Greenwich served us! Truly disgraceful, as the dish is served no respect. For more info on Green Village Restaurant, look them up on here! Avoid!Come on Taperia, open earlier, serve coffee in the morning to the residents of deals, basically sort it out or closure BECKONS. Personally, if it weren't for my wife liking the margaritas there, I'd never go, and I live in the complex!

I often go to Taperia quite regularly as I have a friend who lives in the complex. The staff are always friendly. I am no expert when it comes to food - I simply enjoy everything that comes with eating out. That includes food, service, and the company I keep. My favourite is the meatballs esp with red wine. I love the tortilla and pork belly with caramelised apple. It's great. I love it there.I am really taken back by the nasty review esp the comment about how this person "cannot believe that the good reviews are genuine". It sounds like they had a bad day in general. It would be better to provide more constructive criticism and refrain from simply getting nasty. I've never given the decor too much thought - been too busy enjoying company and food to really pay too much attention to it. I am sure there are many places in London that we like or dislike but it's not good to get nasty about things. I am a fan of Taperia and a supporter of anyone working so hard to make a business work. If anyone thinks this is not a genuine review then I am more than happy to provide them with contact details!

We went here based on previous reviewers comments, and really wished we hadn't. I simply cannot believe that the good reviews are genuine. This was the worst tapas we have ever eaten in the UK or abroad. The restaurant itself is in a horrible area. The view from the window is that of a high rise block of flats with washing drying on the balconies. The internal decor leaves a lot to be desired. The wooden chair I sat on was so rough it pulled holes in my tights. The menu shown on their website is not the same as the one we were given in the restaurant. We ordered 5 tapas dishes which did not arrive together. We left 2 plates of food (marinated chicken and 'pork on toast') as they were so bad. We tried to eat the rest but they were not pleasant - awful potatas bravas, dreadful meatballs, and really nasty spanish omelette. Most of the food was badly presented, They did deduct the cost of one of the dishes from the bill - but I still think what we paid was expensive based on the small portion size and the poor quality. We were so hungry when we left that we went into our hotel bar and I had soup and a bread roll.I would never, ever go back here. Avoid Taperia and - if you want a much nicer tapas experience - go to 'La Tasca' in Canary Wharf which is better in every respect !!

Spotted this restaurant when we left the DLR station at Deptford Bridge. After much more expensive meals in London we were relieved to find something reasonably priced at around £5 per tapas dish. The Spanish lady was very welcoming and recommended some dishes and they were all delicious and well cooked. There was also the option of several cheaper priced bar meals but we wanted to try the tapas

The quality of the food served and its presentation on plate makes this place one of the best Spanish restaurants in London. They do usually have a band playing live music which brings the right energy to the experience of eating. Apart from that, we loved the style that the owner has used to decorate the place, we did feel at home!No doubt we will be repeating very soon...!

We found this place whilst travelling up for a work event the next day and was really glad we did. The food felt authentic after recently visiting Spain and was a nice balance of flavour and spice. Simple tapas but very tasty. The staff were very relaxed and pleasant. There was also a guitarist playing inside who also sang with the noise reaching us outside, believe he normally plays on Thursdays but was there on Friday. It's just around the corner from the Travelodge Greenwich and is the perfect spot for an evening meal when staying there.

Since the new smaller menu was launched you'd think there'd be even more attention to what used to be great tapas... I've been a couple of times since and I've found the food mediocre and service poor. Tonight I say 40 mins waiting for food, when chased I received no apology, nor did I get one when food arrived. Food is warm-hot at best and nothing to shout about.

This restaurant is tucked away by all the new apartment complex next to Deptford DLR station. I only stumbled upon this restaurant when visiting friends who lived nearby. When entering the restaurant, you get a nice relaxed vibe, sort of cafe type feel (not chavvy type). More of a soulful vibe to it. There is seating outside which is occupied a lot during the summer. Really cool to have drinks and gossip away.Me and my partner ordered the Paella - one word - AMAZING! It is so hard to find a Spanish restaurant in South East London that can cook up an authentic paella. It was worth the 45 minutes wait, though that is the norm when it comes to ordering Paella's anywhere. We had the usual bits and bobs from the starters - very good portion sizes. Usually you get them small clay pots which are half full, but these portions were plentiful. Staff were very lovely and courteous. Parking however is a bit tricky. After 9pm, you cannot park in the complex unless you have a valid parking permit, if not your car WILL get clamped. The man who comes to clamp your car comes EXACTLY every night with his yellow clamp just after 9.30 to start his job. If you know anyone living in any of the apartment complex, you can simply ask them for a visitors pass from the reception though this is usually only for a period of time or up until 9pm. I would say to park round the corner by the Greenwich Magistrate Courts. Free after 6 or 7 (can't remember exactly)!! But all in all, restaurant is definitely worth the visit!!

The Taperia at Deptford Bridge was always good, but has recently got even better. We went along on a Sunday evening, and were delighted by the efforts of their new chef. Tender chunks of lamb in a chocolate and rosemary sauce; delicious creamy croquetas; and an interesting and tasty chicken & pepper roulade. The portion sizes are generous too. The Taperia has a nice atmosphere - buzzing and friendly: part bar, part restaurant. They sometimes have live music, but it's never intrusive - we had an excellent Spanish guitarist. Staff were really nice too - we will be going back plenty!

Like a previous reviewer we also stayed at the Travelodge Greenwich and decided to have a meal / snack at the Taperia in the nearby street at the back of the hotel. With the weather cold and icy we did not fancy walking the 2 miles into “Greenwich Village”. We received a warm welcome and were shown to our table. Under no pressure to order straight away we took some drinks and looked through the small but concise menu. We ate various tapas and just one desert along with drinks hot and cold and alcoholic and the bill for the 4 adults came to £30, not bad for a tourist area of London Greenwich. I am sure if we had gone into the village or down at the pier eating at “Nando’s or Frankie and Benny’s on the river we would have spent 2/3 time that amount. The service was quick and the food good if just a little cool could have done with a few more minutes in the oven. The only drawback about the whole area is the parking but if you are eating at the Taperia you will receive a parking permit whilst you are there. If you just wanted a drink that would not be a problem in actual fact nothing was a problem for any of the staff

Had dinner here one night with our daughter and boyfriend while visiting London. The service was very good and food came out quickly. My hubby is not fond of tapas and ordering many small dishes was a challenge. I'm not convinced he has been converted - really a steak and chips man! I enjoyed the experience and tried dishes I would not normally order as it is fun to share and taste. The only negative for the night was we almost got a fine as you cannot park in some areas after 9pm. The signage is not very clear.
