Taste of China in Sheffield

I don’t review places but people need to know. First time I’ve ordered from this place and I’m disgusted. Ate half of it and then left to cool down to put in the fridge to eat the next day when I turned the meat over this is what I found. Mould like this takes a while to get that bad. I was also ill the next day assuming from the food. Ordered through Uber eats and didn’t get a full refund either.

Ordered at 19:11. Didn't arrive until 20:40 and it was stone cold. I had to bin the whole order. I called up to complain and find out how to get a refund and was told that the food I ordered should all be "Not too hot" as it was all starters that were ordered, which isn't true anyway as I ordered chicken in plum sauce. The sweet and sour sauce had congealed and gone like jelly and everything in the order was cold. When I again asked how to get a refund I was told to try on the website. I have since been on the website and cannot find anywhere to get a refund or complain. I won't be using Taste of China again, very disappointed, hungry and over £20 down the drain.

I called at 11:29 for the lady to take my order only to tell me they're closed at11:31. All i wanted was egg fried rice and curry sauce :(

Great value for money. Not the best quality food but good for the price! Delivery took about half and hour and was hot and fresh.

Do you like getting your food on time? Do you like NOT to have to worry if your drivers been captured by some midnight phantom? If you do, would recommend not ordering from here.

Hands down, the worst chinese food I've ever had. I ordered beef with chinese mushrooms, and there were NO chinese mushrooms in it. A few bits of beef and thick bits of onion floating in a dark substance with no taste. Terrible! Never again! They should close them down, also food delivered to me was late and obviously cold.

Delivery always takes forever, will be going elsewhere next time

Had our usual meal and it was lovely, only thing wrong was the prawn toast ,it was undercooked.

Food arrived very late . First time ordering would not order again .special curry was full of onions which made up for the lack of meat in the dish . Very poor save your money and order elsewhere .

Been going here for a few years, always friendly when we phone, can take a while to be delivered at times, food is always consistent. Had to phone up a few times due to wrong order but always sort rather quick always our go to Chinese

The happy meal for one is very good value with the soup, and the portion size was very generous. The chicken balls were perfect for me, and though chicken curry isn't usually a dish I'd choose it tasted good. I had no issues with my order. I ordered online for collection. It was ready quickly and on time. I've never ordered any single dishes from this place so can't review portion sizes or taste of other meals.

Awful! Took over 2 hour to arrive. When I rang 3 times the women was rude and unhelpful and even hung up! When it did arrive I was sent the wrong order.

Absolutely awful, order salt and pepper munch box, extra chips and sauce and a bottle of pop, they brought the extra chips and sauce and that’s it, when I rang and asked where rest of my food was she put the phone down. Also the food that didn’t come aka the chips was vile

This was the third time over a past few months i have ordered for delivery on Just Eat, only to have my orders cancelled a few minutes after order was accepted. Don't waste your time .

Ordered salt and pepper munchy box & duck chow mien. Could do with more veg/spice on salt and pepper chips. Crispy beef and chicken dry + little flavour but lovely with the curry sauce. delivery took 30-40mins, however perfect chow mien.

They had a busy day. There was a mistake on my order but they resolved it quickly.

AWFUL service! rung the takeaway twice as had it been 3 HOURS since ordering! the woman was rude on the phone and told us it was on the way with the driver, an hour later after still no sign of the driver, we rung again and they had no idea about the food and told us they would start cooking it now with no apology! they then cancelled the whole order. we ordered at 17:00 and had to order from a different chinese at 21:00 after terrible service from here! if you want a chinese to actually turn up the same day you order it then DO NOT come here!!

Have ordered multiple times and have always had a good experience. Delicious food, and large portion sizes. It is a go to Chinese to eat if you’re in Sheffield.

Absolutely disgusted we waited an hour for food that was not what we ordered so handed food back to driver and asked for them to sort our order and they just ignored us and put phone down over and over so not order from this shot hole

So disgusted my mum ordered and they came with the wrong food we called them back telling them that it was the wrong food and the woman said no that is your food we kept telling her no it's not but then she hung up on us we then rang up and she said that the right food is coming we rang up again 10 minutes later and they said that they are not coming anymore we have just been waiting half an hour for our food this is so wrong and I'm a teenager saying this you can't just hang up on a paying customer and not bring their food they ordered how dare they

Absolutely disgusted with this place. Ordered £35 worth of food through Just Eat, received raw cold dumplings and crispy chicken with no chicken. 1 star.

3rd time ordering from this place absolutely amazing always to a consistently high standard no issues delivery always on time and food is delicious! Only place we go too now for Chinese!

Wouldn’t recommend. Took over 2 hours to arrive. When you call you get shouted at down the phone. When food finally did arrive part of the order was wrong.

Ordered 2hours ago, called 2 times to follow up with no answer. 3rd call was answered and the lady was shouting in phone why i keep calling . After explaining myself why i callong restaurant they advised order with driver - not sure where the driver is now but it seems he lost as another hour no foord

Food was amazing. Delivery and service was shocking Satay chicken was moist and great sauce Ribs were tender and great sauce. Special chow mein had tons of meat in BUT it took 2 hours to arrive. I can see that's a pattern now I've checked reviews. Shame because the food is great. It's really not hard to deliver food within an hour

Ordered 3 items of food... 2 hours later. Dry noodles luke warm.. soup too thick to even eat. Sharing box wet and greasy all the fried food soggy . The food is disgusting. It went in the bin.. Will never order from here again. Feel like being sick.

It is horrible when it comes to the delivery. I have waited over two hours for food through their Uber eats profile. Horrible customer service when on the phone with them. Never buy from again.

Took 3 hours to arrive from ordering and was cold but after a quick blast in the microwave it was very nice food, expected it to be much quicker on a wednesday

Shocking service, took three hours to arrive. When I phoned twice to ask where my food was I was told in the same conversation it was with the driver and then told that it was just being packed up. Avoid at all costs if you want your food the same day!

To a while to get to me but not over the eta on uber eats so I can't moan. I have to say the good was really nice. The special curry was the best I've ever had. So tasty.

This place is amazing and deserves to be treated better.

Order on just app and order cancelled 5 mins before my collection time totally rubbish. If they can’t manage to fulfil orders in the quite midweek you have no chance on the more busier times.

Ordered from Just Eat. Delivery was prompt, much quicker than other places I’ve ordered from on a Saturday night! Food was delicious and the portion sizes were very generous. Would definitely order from here again!

The food was excellent, cheap and great value for money, but the delivery process was inconvenient, hence losing a star. We tried to order from here on Justeat, but our order was declined - unsure why. We called up and they offer their own delivery service, which was apparently faster. They told us £1 delivery fee, but later asked to charge £3 as our address seemed to be 4 miles away from the restaurant - although when we looked it up on Google Maps it's only 2.5 miles. Once we pointed this out on the phone, the staff member was happy to change this for us and break down the bill for us. In any case, the food arrived after about an hour, and it was all really tasty. It's the first time I've not been disappointed by anything on a Chinese takeaway order, and we'll definitely be ordering from here again, despite the inconvenience. Great value for money.

Intentamos hacer un pedido desde aquí en Justeat, pero nuestro pedido fue rechazado, sin saber por qué. Llamamos y ofrecen su propio servicio de entrega, que aparentemente fue más rápido. Nos dijeron 1 tarifa de envío, pero luego pidieron cobrar 3 ya que nuestra dirección parecía estar a 4 millas del restaurante, aunque cuando la buscamos en Google Maps era solo 2. 5 millas. Una vez que señalamos esto por teléfono, el miembro del personal estuvo feliz de cambiar esto por nosotros y desglosar la factura por nosotros. En cualquier caso, la comida llegó después de aproximadamente una hora, y estaba muy rica. Es la primera vez que no me decepciona nada en un pedido de comida china para llevar, y definitivamente volveremos a pedir desde aquí, a pesar del inconveniente. Además, tiene una muy buena relación calidad-precio, barata pero en buena cantidad.

I ordered 3 items of food at 6:50 and it still has not come, ive called twice and i was told they are waiting for their driver to come back, will be in the next 5 mins, 40 minutes later i called them again for her to say hes been down a road near mine then to the petrol station and still not been to mine, i still dont have my food, 3 items of food!

Would give it 0 if I could !! Cold food seems days old just no don't order from them shocking never again

Waste of money, overpriced, over cooked, some unfit to eat, avoid.

I have had two takeaways from Taste of China and both have been delicious. Love their dim sum plus the Thai beef curry is amazing. I would say freshly cooked and quite large portions with plenty of beef chicken and prawns in the dishes we had. Would highly recommend

Cenamos aquí como una familia de 4. Todos disfrutamos de la comida y pensamos que era realmente una buena relación calidad-precio. Es un lugar informal, pero el servicio que recibimos fue excelente y acogedor: nos ofrecieron buenos consejos cuando pedimos demasiado (hay muchos lugares en los que he estado donde simplemente no harían esto). Los niños felizmente comieron su comida y luego se les dio un helado de cortesía, ¡lo que hizo que este lugar fuera un ganador! Si hay algo para mejorar, entonces pensé que la cerveza Tsingtao era un poco cara para una botella pequeña. Pero la comida fue sin duda una muy buena relación calidad-precio y nos encantaría volver aquí la próxima vez que estemos en Sheffield.

Excellent chinese take-away. Love the food love the staff they are amazing when dealing with an issue we had with just eat. Its hard to find a good Chinese takeaway these days would 100% recommend them.

Taste of China? More like tastes DAYS old! Food is overpriced and clearly NOT fresh. Curry sauce full of oil. Wont be going back.

The most rancid chips and curry sauce I have ever had the displeasure of eating. They are expensive at 3.10 compared to most other chippies/ Chinese takeouts. My chips were clearly double or triple fried (not chippy chips) some of them were brown whilst others transparent. The curry sauce was full of oil. I won't be returning.

Very poor place, who ever rated this here & on just eat need to venture out more. Very lazy cooking and stupidly over priced. No fresh chillis, no spring onion, no peppers. Very evenly chopped onion (suspect its bought in ready chopped) and dried flaked chilli flakes in the salt & pepper chips and salt & pepper chicken. Chicken is obviously bought in aswell. Quite gutted, definitely the laziest chinese to date 🤔 but not the worst tasting!

He estado durante el año pasado en muchas ocasiones. Comida china estilo café fácil con una calidad decente por el precio. No he probado todo ya que el menú es bastante grande y las cosas que suelo pedir son normalmente las mismas. El servicio es bueno y amable. Prueba los 3 asados con arroz / arroz frito. Spot on.

First of all its well over priced and under proportions compared to other places and the quality was not great was on time but not everything that I ordered son i called to ask where my spring rolls was only to be told I never ordered them and that I'd have to pay 350 again for them and delivery for there mistake would not recommend go to number 1 is better
