Taste Of China in Wakefield

Normally good from here. But today ordered a set meal for one. Duck and mushroom. Duck was awful and thrown away. The soup was just like water and no taste. Will not be using this place again.

Ordered at 6pm, got it at 8pm! Food was cold

Ordered tonight. The special fried rice was okay. The beef in black beans was in a tasty sauce but the beef was stringy. The shredded chicken was practically batter only. Called to complain and the person would not replace the dishes or refund the order. I will never use this place again. I don't know if under new management because this place use to be lovely.

absolutely disappointed, the shredded chicken was literally just batter, the beef was stringy and overall just not good quality food, unfortunately we did not eat any of it. I rang the company directly to ask for refund or replacement order, he was rude and wouldn't help in anyway.

Cold, late...normally great but tonight rubbish...

Unbelievable. It was over 2 hrs late! And my chicken fried rice was burnt and so was my chow main and my partners deep fried chicken was 2 chicken breast that was completely soggy on the bottom un acceptable! The only thing that was right was the salt and pepper chips! This cost us over £35 ridiculous. It wasn't worth it, they used to be really nice food but now it's gone down hill don't know what they have changed but I wouldn't recommend going here again!!!!

been ordering with these guys for 10yrs there always late by at least an hour and most expensive Chinese on the planet £29 for ribs and a main shocking could eat cheaper at the ivy my last time ordering from here coz it's on its way they can't delay it it anymore order from hear if u want Chinese for breakfast

the noodle box is perfect, hot and tastes amazing. the gyoza box is broken so there's bits of plastic all over the place and the salt and pepper chips were cold and stale

all well made food although the "Spicey" food could use some more spice

The chow mein was ok, and fast service in shop but just DO NOT order duck in plum sauce. The duck came seperately to the sauce, battered crispy and in pineapple??weird. But then the sauce was the texture of gelatine, tasted nothing like plum sauce and certainly didn’t look like any plum sauce i’ve had before it was yellow?? and when i called up because i actually thought they had given me the wrong thing they just dismissed it and said that’s how it is. I work in a takeaway and i know it can be hard but the shop was absolutely dead when i was in and the customer service over the phone was pretty helpless. So to of worked an hour for my meal that i couldn’t eat was really disappointing 🙁

Order was late. Also not happy with food, all main dishes tasted the same. We ordered schezwan dishes but they were so sweet and not like when we have ordered in the past.

Ordered a delivery for 2 people was quoted 1hr delivery which actually took almost 2hrs. Starter was clap cold by this time and mains were just about acceptable once re heated. Icing on the cake was a £5 delivery charge to WF2 ! Will NEVER use this takeaway again.

awful food is all i can say. wasted 50 quid. ribs were dry, most likely old, with poor portion size and spring rolls had a distinct nasty taste. do yourself a favour and listen the previous reviews

Well we ordered are food then b4 it came started reading reviews which at that point wish I had not as there were a few bad ones. But got to say glad I didn't read now b4 I ordered as I wouldn't have. But food came and I've got to say we've really enjoyed it. Maybe it's cos it's in week and not weekend and not as busy but I would defo recommend this place 👌 🙂

Lovely food, not as hot as we’d like. The chips let the meal down as they were over cooked or had been recooked, definitely not fresh

The food cam really early but the quality was terrible and for how much it was it was very disappointing. Over £2 for such a small sausage is also outrageous.

China would be embarrassed if that's a taste of China. some may think this review is harsh but I also believe spending hard earned cash on food that doesn't taste at all close to what it should do is also harsh. please start using fresh meats as the chicken was fatty and seemed it had been cooked over and over or just kept for a while.

Loved the main meal but the mixed starter was poor it was as if it had been cooked five hours previous, I would order again but avoid the starter

Every bit of our food was overdone and chewy, definitely think it has been reheated, even the dog had trouble chewing it! Will not be having again.

18/4 Today went for same noodle choice as usual...I'm afraid the food not up to usual standards ..half the noodle box cold .. not undercooked just cold . Had to quick heat up in microwave.. Sad really as food usually good Food usually good But man serving at counter miserable as sin .. as I say luckily food is good ... He needs to let other people serve as could lose lot of customers .as it's not cheap to eat out now so a smile could go a long way

Ordered the set meal for 2, very tasty, minor issue, I specifically didnt order curry, it is an option, but we didnt fancy curry tonight, so a little disapointed that we received 2 currys with the meal. However, still very tasty, good value & driver was very polite, so I'll get over it.

Food was disgusting Overcooked and felt warmed up not fresh at all. Delivery driver came and pressed our door bell 4 times at 11.00 at night and we answered the door and then after recieving our food and closing the door the delivery driver pressed the doorbell again and his words were “I’m just having a laugh” bearing in mind we have 3 young children in bed. Would defientley not recommend at all. Also tried ringing the restaurant but no answer.

Had my food delivered super fast and guess what ,it was freezing cold and absolutely horrible,I do not recommend,cost me over £20 for one person too

I would give a zero but that isn’t an option, my food never arrived and when i called to see where my food was they said they delivered it and accused me of being a fraud trying to get money back what a joke just admit you delivered to wrong house absolutely disgusting attitude will NEVER order here again

Ordered at 6pm for 7:30 delivery. Not arrived by 7:45. Called and was told she wasn’t sure it had left the shop yet, explained it wasn’t acceptable when ordering an hour and a half in advance. Girl on the phone couldn’t care less to be honest, second time this had happened. No apology. Turned up half hour later at 8pm and was cold. Will never order from here again. Ridiculous customer service.

Food was freezing cold. Delivery driver handed me the bag and liquid contents poured out all over the rug and my sons shoes. One Food containers lid was completely melted onto the food, looked like it had been microwaved. The ribs were miniscule and 70% fat. The satay chicken skewers were dry, hard, sauce was congealed, totally inedible. Wantons were soggy, not crispy at all. Won't be ordering again! Vile!

Egg fried rice was perfect but the hot box meat was a bit chewy. Guess I'll try the sweet and sour fried chicken next time.

Need more sauce on the satay skewers because it’s delicious but not all the skewwers are covered so can be too dry

ordered just after 8pm and delivered just before 10pm. we don't live a million miles away. love their food, hate the fact I don't eat it until bed time!

I have just received the worst Chinese curry in the world. Basically a dish of water with half an onion and a bit of tough beef, absolutely horrendous. Has this Chinese takeaway been taken over by new people as used to be nice but I wouldn't recommend to anyone now, even the spare ribs are small and tasteless. Two items cost £20 with delivery and I'm absolutely disgusted, also waited an hour and a quarter for the privilege of dishwater.

The order took more than 2 hours to arrive. It was a Monday tea time- so not exactly a busy time. The packaging had split and leaked everywhere and the chop suey had so much garlic in (and I like garlic) it was disgusting. I’ll never order from here again

The cashew chicken had leaked all over the bag so barely any sauce left. The chicken was dry and overcooked. The pancakes with the duck were ripped and unusable

Really greasy, wrong dish i ordered special chow mien and received pretty much a prawn chow mien wasnt too warm with being late aswell.

Absolutely foul, usually order from newton but they were shut. Ordered chicken curry, was watery and tasteless. Chips were stale and brown clearly reheated. Single Portion of curry sauce, again watery and tasteless. Salt and pepper chicken didn’t taste bad but was so dry. Won’t be ordering again.

egg noodles were the only decent thing. Won ton soup was absolutely rank and had a jello consistentcy and tasted old. All appetizers were obviously reheated and stone cold when arrived. Very disappointing
