Went for lunch on a Saturday, had a ghee masala dosa and filter coffee. The place was neat, service was good, coffee was great. Unfortunately the masala inside the dosa was very poor - not much flavour, unevenly cooked. The sambar that came with the dosa was also not tasty.

I don’t remember giving anyone 1 star review, but this place really made me wonder what people love about it. I had come here after recommendations back in 2021, and visited now after that to give it a second try. Second try was even worse than first. Food didn’t have any taste, place looked quite in need of refurbishment specially the area where all the chutneys were uncovered just outside kitchen. We had ordered masala dosa crispy- sambhar wasn’t spicy which was only good thing about it as it didn’t have any taste. Green chutney is like coriander chutney. Masala has such big potato pieces as if they had forgotten to mash it. The only good thing is dosa to be eaten with coconut chutney. We ordered Punjabi meals thali- there was no taste in any of the vegetables & with payasam just like runny water. Paneer kulcha just had paneer in it with no flavours & bread felt like had too much rising agent so it tasted horrid. None of my family member liked anything about it. I won’t return here ever.

Really disappointed with the food. Who are these people who have given them 4 stars ??My food at home tastes better than this place. Food is expensive and mediocre. Not worth the money. Staff keep staring at your food as they pass by your table! The table and chairs we were sitting on was worn and torn! And dirty and sticky table! Won't go there again

Nice place to eat, mainly vegetarian

So the food is actually amazing and there is a large variety of vegetarian authentic Indian food. Service is great! Very attentive and patient! Atmosphere and decor could be better, also saw a cockroach next to the toilet which really put me off! Dosas are amazing!

Nice food, nice ambience, nice people. We come here a lot. I would have given 5 overall, but gave 4 because the washroom area is generally okay but could be cleaner.

Naans are not fresh. They look like the one bought from Tesco or other stores and just got reheated as fresh Naan bread are not that soggy and fluffy unless you mix lot of yeast in them as it sounds with the one at this place. They are certainly not made at fresh. Customers want taste and freshness and you can’t compensate this with the size.

This restaurant has various of vegetarian options, which is very delicious. We had ghee roast , medu vada and plain dosa which is very good in portion wise and tasty as well. Service was good and attentive.

One of the best restaurant in east ham yo experience the native south culture food with right quality and medium species suitable for UK residents...every item. Is home touch..with right proposition of quality...I admire their traditional service the cook is 30years of matured service... I always feel like home when I visit this restaurant, employees are very friendly and they provide refill and extra rice for the South Indian meals.. I recommend for everyone to taste and more over always big seating places without much crowd...enjoy the peaceful dining...and best meetings and conversation...n away from the crowded people...visitors are very much working professional suits for their daily diet..

Don't Order Punjabi Thali or meals Totally Testeless and cold. Dosa was good Enough To Eat But the Thali was worst,Gobi 65 was cold and the other curry was Testless Especially Dal makhani. Not going to visit again Waste of money....

Absolutely fantastic Pure Veg Indian Restaurant. We have celebrated every festival at Taste of India for the past 2 years. Food is hygienic with amazing taste and the service is exceptional. Namely Raja and other team members are always welcoming and joyful. Recommended will be Thalis'.

Rubbish! My dosa went to the table behind me . My whole family eaten. I chased up the waiter and said where is my food. He said coming. 20 mins later my food arrives Then no discount given! The waiter didn't even want to do his job. This was on Wednesday the 16th oct.

Unfortunately for people who don't eat onion or garlic, this place has no options. Only found out after we waited for half an hour in line for a table. Very disappointing since, you think it's a pure veg place, they would understand our requirements.

Extremely disappointed with my order. After a tiring day, I was looking forward to enjoying my meal, but the mango lassi never arrived, and the rasmalai was completely spoiled. It ruined the experience. I expected better quality and attention to detail. Won’t be ordering from here again!

I've had the South Indian meals and Plain Utthapam. I honestly didn't like both of them. The THALI didn't taste good, the rasam wasn't tangy and was watery fullu, the sambar wasn't flavourful, the soup was like water and gobi 65 was extremely oily. The chutneys for Utthapam didn't taste great and I felt it wasn't cooked properly I could feel the raw batter taste inside though the outside part was but yeah two things that were better was their Lime Soda and Saunf. Loved them

Superb and absolutely authentic Indian food. I must say that the food served here is so much better than an average Indian restaurant in India. Cannot recommend this place enough. I go here whenever I am feeling homesick. The naan and dosa are both equally good and don't be misguided by looks. The North Indian food here is as good as the South Indian cuisine. Just order anything on the menu, and you will not be disappointed. Highly recommend Honey Devil Potatoes.

I ordered the veg manchurian with gravy from uber eats,Quantity was not enough plus food quality is poor all it was tasting is tomato ketchup and after eating got loose motion instantly,i can never recommend to eat anymore to anyone in this restaurant very poor quality food and not even taste what you order .

Went for quick bite with my sister, mum and 8 year old son. The waiting staff are really friendly the atmosphere of the restaurant is light and airy, however the food did not live up to standards. I ordered Chili Paneer for starters which was not too bad, but then it was all downhill from here onwards. I ordered the Punjabi meal which comes with 11 dishes at £10.90, I thought I was getting more than worth my money. However when the thali arrived out of the 11 dishes only 3 dishes were edible there were two of the same food, which was yoghurt. All the food ordered had sugar. The saag, butter paneer, veg curry, 2 x yoghurt, daal Makhani, the gobi 65 was burnt, in the menu it said there was pakoda curry, which did not arrive, also a gulab jamun and some kind of halwa. I could only eat three because the rest of the food sweet like a dessert. The portion sizes were 1 or 2 table spoon of each dish, so overall I had very little to eat and in the end did not eat my moneys worth. My sister ordered alloo pratha which had no flavour in it was stuffed with red coloured mixture which looked and tasted odd. My mum ordered upma with some chutneys, again in very small dish, she ran out of chutneys mid way her meal. The waiter was very kind to offer he second round of chutneys. The best dish on the table was my 8 year old sons schezwan mushroom noodles, which were quite delicious. I would rate this restaurant 1 star out of 5.

This place was so tasty. It is busy, but worth it as the food is good. The Paneer tikka masala is nice, service is good and prices are reasonable.

I am writing to express my dissatisfaction with the seating arrangement process at Taste of india, specifically regarding the behavior of the person responsible for this task. His conduct was extremely rude and the worst I have encountered at your establishment. Despite there being no one in the waiting queue or on the waiting list, he reserved several tables without any clear reason. These tables had no reservations, yet he refused to allow guests to sit there, instead directing them to uncomfortable areas. This experience has left a negative impression on me, and I have decided that this will be my last visit to Taste of india. I urge the administration to review this issue, as it seems to affect many customers' experiences negatively. I do not know the name of the individual, but I hope this matter can be addressed to improve the overall customer experience at your restaurant.

This place is best if you are looking for authentic north Indian food. Close to east ham tube station.

Excellent food and service was little slow for some dishes

Lovely vegetarian place, was seated straight away and was asked what we'd like pretty soon after. The guy that served us was patient, attentive, friendly and knowledgeable. Listened to what we want and then delivered. Staff were also very attentive throughout our meal. An extremely pleasant service and we all left extremely satisfied. If you're in the area, pop in and have a nice meal!

Been going here since opening. At that time it was unique and felt like a 5 star restaurant. With so much competition, it still holds its name for high quality food and amazing service. Even when at full capacity, which is often, they cater with pride

Visited this place after a few years and sadly the quality and taste of the food has certainly gone down. The masala is the dosa did not have enough salt and the batter seemed tasteless. It was disappointing to see the quality go down but prices have risen over the years. The service however is quite decent/Ok.

I have been a regular customer for several years now and each time the quick service and beyond delicious food amazes me. I 100% recommend this restaurant and as a bonus they are fully vegetarian.

Staff behaviour is very rude their Staff is makeing fun in their native language. Make fun of hind language in their local south Indian language.

Disgusting and tasteless food , ordered south inian meal rice were half cooked every Curry had chilli and no taste at all horrible experience it was no where near authentic south indian food the staff was too casual asked thrice for coke and the girl and boy who were serving us looked at each other and laughed and walked away , gave feedback to the cashier he was not interested don't think i will go there again. To the owner, if you can check with your cashier also ask him hiw did he respond to the complaint , now to your question what I was expecting from south indian food was decent cooked rice with decent tasteful curries not just boiled tasteless water in the name of soup and curries filled with chilly and no taste I believe you have not eaten proper south indian meal and a punjabi meal hence the quality of food you serve and to our laugh the only difference in between the thalis were once came with chapatis . When you spend £150 you expect something good time for reality check......

Food is excellent and caters to desi taste buds.

Good food, all vegetarian but gluten free (coeliac) is limited. I believe high probability of cross contamination especially on fried options. Overall if you don't have any dietary requirements it's a good place to eat.

I went in to get a pomegranate juice. I had to pay £6.80 although the menu says £5.50. It seems the extra was for the take away cup. It’s warm and I am thirsty, I don’t want to argue or go anywhere else, I just need to drink something. I pay and wait for the juice. 10-20 mins later I get the take away with something that tastes like pomegranate juice - more water and hardly any pome in it. Even a bottle of water doesn’t cost so much. This is day light looting! [note : I get back to the car where my husband is waiting. I give him the juice without telling what it is. He drinks it and thinks it’s flavoured grape juice. Imagine the quality of the juice.]

I really enjoyed the food. The taste was same as of Indian restaurant. I preferred to eat spicy and it was. After a long time, I had authentic spicy Gobi. Dosa, medhu vada with sambhar, Schezwan noodles were too good. I felt like I'm in India. I highly recommend you to taste the food here.

Very authentic taste of India. Great restaurant, very reasonable prices and being a pure vegetarian restaurant, there is so much to choose from within the menu. It was extremely busy place, but the food was served quickly. The food were simply tasty - huge amount of flavour in these dishes and very filling whilst being reasonably healthy. Good costumer service, staff were fast and attentive.

This was probably the busiest time for the restaurant but the staff were amazing, taste is great with wide range of items available. Definitely worth trying. Zia, being the owner has provided the best service to Everyone

Service is extremely good and we were checked on multiple times... However the food itself wasn't upto our expectations. I ordered hot chutney masala dose.. however it was not crisp as it should be...soft and soggy..may be Tamil Nadu style... Am used to Karnataka style dose!! Buttermilk was somewhat thick like lassi.. and the achari paneer was average. Not really sure what this restaurant specialises in.. as it says Taste of India...

It was an amazing experience. We came here almost every weekend when we lived in London. It reminded us of Indian culture. I would recommend faluda!! It makes you happy and enlightened from inside. Would definitely recommend this restaurant. Absolutely amazing food!

Hello, i already dine in many more times, and also, i ordered the same manchurain dry in the restaurant you gave quantity that i know very well... Also, it's all dry, just chilli pieces, ginger pieces, and garlic pieces are their in dry manchurian just little sauce like they are stick on manchurain balls... that's it.. but it's literally gravy.. In dine in, you gave full plate of manchurain in same price but in delivery order just 6 pieces?? On the same price Do you agree ?? I know you have a good reputation, but your statement is not true anyway..

Great tasty and more popular in 2024. It welcomes all the diverse people families and children of the world peacefully. Nearby East Ham Underground Train TfL Station and many Bus Routes 🚌 474, 101, 325, 238, 376, 104, 304, ... Nearby Hindu Temple of Sri Mahalaxmi . A lot of improvement in the last 2 years, in comparison with Saravanaa Vegetarian Restaurant.

I came here to get one of my favourite combinations, chili paneer and fresh naan. The paneer was priced a bit higher than what I expected, however it was overall a decent experience. This place is full vegetarian. Naan was fluffy, soft and warm.

The restaurant is clean. Customer service is excellent. The bathrooms are also clean. Food well prepared, nice and warm. All prepared in your presence. Easy to access transport,bus stops are just Infront of the restaurant,and East Ham station is just a stone throw away.

East Ham is fortunate to sport two branches of Taste of India (TOI). This is a review of the large vegetarian branch on the corner of High St North and Byron Avenue. For meat and seafood eaters there is a smaller branch on the other side of High St North. We arrived at 7pm on a Sunday and were lucky to be escorted immediately to a table with comfortable seats at the side of the restaurant, a quieter table than we are used to. The waiter and other staff were friendly and attentive without being intrusive. We are fairly well known at TOI. Weekend evenings are usually extremely busy from 7 onwards, we were happy that we didn’t need to wait for a table. For starters I had Rasam. This varies a little from day to day, it was most delicious and seemed to cure symptoms of a light cold I’d been having. The balance of spicy heat, bitterness and sweetness was most comforting. My companion tried Vada Rasa. The Vada tastes fresh and delicious, the perfect complement to the bowl of Rasam surrounding it. We then shared Cashew Pilau Rice, Bhindi Masala, Chettinad Mushroom and plain Nan. The rice and mushroom dishes were new to us. The rice was perfectly cooked with a lovely texture and delicate flavour from the cashew nuts. The Chettinad sauce was incredibly rich and tasty, the clove and cinnamon adding top notes to the sauce. We rounded off the meal with delicious Masala Tea. An absolutely lovely meal that we were able to enjoy alongside our conversation without interruption. Once again a fabulous meal from TOI.

I am very old customer and used to go to restorent every week from its opening time. Recently  they change policy and refuse to give extra sambhar when we order any dish 1 tiny cup of sambhar is neglegiible and not enough at all. No Indian restaurant denies to give additional Sambar. We paid full what ever cost and used to go every week. I offered to give extra charg for extra cup of sambhar but they want to sell big bowl of sambhar that costs 2.5 £ and equal to 5  small cup that is not required and they did not gave us small cup. Owner is resistant to understand customers issue/respect I am surprice while pay full manu cost and also they increased many time recently and we happily paid. Why they want to loose their reputation by this kind of bad behaviour/decision. They want more money then should add in cost of dish. people comes to restorent to have good time not bearring this kind of unprofetional behaviour. I stopped visiting them, they need to reconsider their ethics if want good customers. I seen new menu with increased rate but that is fine. We started again going their . Of course food is good. Service is good. I am happy that they understand and taken action to improve facility to customer.
