Tasty Chinese Takeaway in Swindon

The food here is usually good quality but soo overpriced. 2nd time in a row I’ve paid 13 pound nearly for a quarter of duck and you get a tiny bit of sauce at the bottom of the pot not enough for the amount of wraps the duck makes. I even wrote a note to ask for more this time and was still ignored. Noodles tasted very oily. Foods always very fresh usually and hate leaving bad reviews but I’m afraid it’s the last time I waste my money on the duck and probably wont be ordering as regularly as the price of everything is so expensive compared to other decent Chinese takeaways in swindon.

1st time we ordered from here it was amazing , this time we spent over £65 they forgot the cucumber and sauce to go with the duck and we spent £7 on seaweed and literally got 2 spoonfuls for that price. Salt and Chilli chips not as nice as last time and portion was small. For nearly £70 you don’t expect them to forget things and give you portions that would only just feed a sparrow. Still hungry and looking round the kitchen for something else to eat. Not impressed at all !

Ordered take away to be told refuses delivery and advised they have my food. Refuse delivery for me and if I want have to collect. Why would I order a deliveroo if able to collect myself. Refuses refund or delivery service very very bad company for take away orders stay away.

Extremely rude staff. Unhelpful and do not do what you pay for avoid at all costs

Have to say we were devastated when Connie's closed down but so happy that someone recommended Tasty Chinese Takeaway. Oh my God, the food is so good and (sorry to compare) but so much like Connie's. We WILL be back very soon.

0 stars, order flat out didn't turn up, they accepted my order via just eat, took my money then didn't deliver, now 30 pounds out of pocket, absolutely livid

I ordered First time and the king prawn chow mein was delicious. Not much in it, but everything about it was delicious. I asked for less oil without knowing how they cook and it was spot on. You are my new go to place. I wouldn’t charge 10 p for a small take out bag though. So everyone, just bring your own.

Foot we ordered was quite varied, mostly tasted good but it was cold (we're close by) and some items needed salt...unheard of for a Chinese meal. Having said that I would still give it another go

Ordered 2 x Spare ribs in curry sauce and also put additional note to make one spicy hot but it came up with blend curry sauce. But the service was quick and good.

This is takeaway only, but the best in our opinion. To order by phone is easy, and the delivery service is excellent. The choice on the menu is extensive and the quality is consistent and of a very high standard. We use them all of the time, it’s both affordable and reliable.

Just had a delivery from here have 2 say it was beautiful food really good delivery within 20 min will order from here in future highly reccomend

Usually a regular here ordered special fried rice got given the house and the food was very poor . Very upset in my last few orders recently

Yep 10 out of 10 when I ring up for a takeaway the service is perfect I really like one of their female drivers big lady so pleasent even said enjoy your meal I wonder if she is still one of their drivers I would love to see her again

I rarely write reviews, but this one time I will. This place is disgusting! Both food and phone customer service. I’ll start with the attitude issues of the staff before moving onto the food issues. We called up to complain about the order and the man on the phone instantly faked a language barrier, stating he doesn’t understand. He refused to do anything or to acknowledge the complaint, the noise in the background of the store was sheer screaming. You may be wondering how we know they faked the language barrier? After getting know where, we called under a different number, same person answered, we asked to make an order and he suddenly spoke perfect English! Now the issues with the food. It cost £38 for vegetable spring rolls, sweet and sour chicken, kung pao chicken and a chicken chow main. This would typically cost us 25-30! Chicken Chow Main - The chicken was pure white, clearly no seasoning, the dish was bland, wet and tasteless. Vegetable Spring Rolls - Tiny with no filling. Sweet and Sour Chicken - The thickest and Sweetest most sugar filled sweet and sour ever. 80% Pineapple 10% actual chicken. Whatever chicken there was had the texture of mashed potato. Not in a good tender way. Kung Pao Chicken - I almost threw up eating this. It is single handedly the most vile thing I have ever eaten in my life. I had to spit it out. Unfortunately, they stole £40 from us and we were left having to order elsewhere. Utterly disgusted! Whatever you do, stay away from this devil spawn of a restaurant!

Food was expensive, curry was watery, parking bad, but no food poisoning, so every cloud....

Had 2 x prawn main dishes plus ribs etc. In each prawn dish there was only 5 prawns! I expect that for a starter but definitely should be double that for a main. The flavours were great so it's disappointing that their portions are so small.

A few things, £6 for 4 pieces of prawn toast! Chicken with satay sauce, don't bother, sauce was like water and no taste. £44 for three people.

First time ordering from here and it certainly will not be the last. Food arrived much quicker than expected, was hot on arrival. Generous portions and very tasty. I had roast duck in a plum sauce which was nice and tender and the skin was cooked to perfection, my partner had mushroom chow mein which was also very tasty A+.

Absolutely love this takeaway, best Chinese place around Oldown, food is amazing, staff are lovely they always remember what you tend to order. Give them a try I doubt you'll be disappointed

Food not brilliant I had to explain 3 times where we lived didn't get it right soggy chicken balls and as for the chips not good cooked in dirty oil need to change the oil more often

First time use this take way. Not ordered a lot, however, order spare ribs and roast pork chop suey. Spare ribs seemed alright but not a great. However chop suey was the worst. There were 5 pieces of pork rest of all mong beans sprout, even paid £9.00. Not gonna use it again……

God knows what these reviews are on about but its probably the most expensive chinese takeaway in swindon ....way way way over priced like extremely if you want to eat from here expect to pay around £3 extra for each dish then you normally would ....also delivery charge of £4 no matter how much you spend and then some service charge which god knows what that goes to ..... i haven't even ordered yet and im so put off by the pricing.... i only wanted to order some bleddy food .... just done the same order with another highly recommended Chinese takeaway and saving myself a £10 niceeee i wouldnt even bother with this place

Visited Swindon recently and I agree with the top reviews. Tasty Chinese Takeaway is an absolute winner, with top quality food. We had the extra large box meals and they were generous portions at a reasonable price. Definitely my new goto in Swindon.

Stopped in an hour before closing time, was expecting a standard Chinese. Wow, this take away blew me away. Everything ordered was exceptional but the prawn toast was hands down and by far the best of its kind that I've ever tasted in my life. Will happily travel 20 miles to make these guys my regular. Amazing job 👏

Definitely the best Chinese takeaway place in Swindon, everything is cooked fresh and the proportions are very good. Brilliant service too. Edit: Dec. 2022, since they have been taken over and rebranded as TASTY, their food is great still however they are super expensive.

While staying in swindon for a couple of nights, we fancied a takeaway, after looking at reviews online we decided to go with TASTY and I must say they have the name right ,it was the best chinese I've had in a very long time,we went and ordered it very nice friendly people cooked fresh in front of us ,the shop is clean and doesn't smell greasy, when cooking you could smell each individual freshly copped spice which you can see them add to your dishes they cook ,I had salt n pepper ribs absolutely amazing, crispy chili beef beautifully crisp lovely fresh flavors, rice Singapore noodles amazing, and special fried rice with no shrimp which they happily did for me ,all freshly cooked lovely people and above all VERY TASTY ,highly recommend so much so we had it twice in our time away .

Wow, what can I say, this has to be the best Chinese in Swindon, we usually go to another, but they were closed, so we tried this one, best thing we done, everything arrived hot and very tasty, the chips, which are a compulsory thing for us arrived hot, fluffy on the inside and crispy on the outside, perfect for us, well done guys, will be converting family and friends!!

Tried Tasty Chinese for the first time tonight and it was definitely on par with the best Chinese takeaways I've had. The duck was not dry at all and the accompanying sauces for the meal were all full of flavour. This is our new go-to Chinese!

My aunty and I after reading all the positive reviews. We decided to give this place a try. And OMG😲 the food was simply, AMAZING, TASTY, ABSOLUTELY PERFECT. The wait for the food wasn't very long. And the delivery driver was very friendly and smiley. We will most certainly be ordering from here again. And we look forward to trying other dishes on the menu.10/10

Recently moved to the area and been looking for my new "locals". Had a hard time deciding but got a menu through the door so thought I'd give them a try. Safe to say, my local Chinese has been decided! Phoned through my order to a lovely lady to which the food was ready in around 20 minutes. I got there as they were finishing my dishes and it was obvious it was freshly cooked and being wok fried to order which was a delight to see. Food wise - amazing. Pictures attached which is the salt and pepper spare ribs, special fries rice, sweet and sour chicken, and lastly some banana frittas. Portion sizes are exceptional, I wasn't left feeling parched as with some Chinese food the msg can make you a lil thirsty. I'm looking forward to reheating my leftovers

Fabulous! Looking for a good Chinese takeaway in the area we tried TASTY last night and we were not disappointed. The food was delicious, good quality ingredients, freshly and professionally prepared and minus any overuse of the dreaded MSG (which so many Chinese Restaurants use too extensively). Main dishes we tried were Lemon Chicken, Satay King Prawn (delicious), Special Chop Suey and Chicken with Spring Onion and Ginger, which came with a complimentary big bag of ‘straight out of the wok’ Prawn Crackers - consumed on the way home in the car! They also offer a home delivery service. HIGHLY RECOMMENDED.

I've found my new favourite takeaway (and I'm fussy!). Tasty, good sized portions, quickly delivered and hot on arrival. Won't be ordering from anywhere else!!
