Al igual que otras críticas que he leído, esto también solía ser nuestro ir - para colocar en Kingston. Estuve allí tantas veces en el pasado, y siempre solía estar ocupado, ya que la comida era fantástica. ¡Pero nuestra última visita será la última! Mi esposa estaba muy poco impresionada con su ensalada, uno de los baños estaba fuera de servicio, el otro no tenía rollo de baño. El olor de abajo hizo que comer fuera muy desagradable, y el lugar, en general, parecía bastante dramático. Podría seguir, pero creo que entiendes la deriva.

No volveremos. Acostumbrado a agradable, sin embargo el servicio espantoso y la comida no tan buena como solía ser. El personal grosero cuando me preguntaron dónde estaban mis sándwiches. Las patatas fritas se quemaron, y el sándwich no era genial! ¡No volverá!

El desayuno era frío y muy por debajo de la media. Los huevos estaban demasiado cocidos y el salmón tenía un sabor funky. Los inodoros estaban sucios y no recomendaría probar el agua libre a un lado, ya que puede coger listeria se veía mohoso. La mujer que servía también era grosera y parecía tan gruñona con su pobre personal que parecía miserable arrastrando sus pies. Ojalá nos hubiéramos ido ya que era tan caro para lo que teníamos. ¡Evita!

Experiencia decepcionante. Los sándwiches no estaban mal, pero la cafetería era simplemente desagradable. Estaba lleno abajo, subimos donde estaba sucio, y no limpio. La mitad de las mesas estaban llenas de platos y vasos sucios de clientes anteriores, y goteo general. La otra mitad estaba justo al lado de una mesa sucia e inmunda. Teníamos nuestra mesa limpia de platos, etc, pero limpiarlo podría haber sido apropiado. (Escuchamos a un comensal rociando algo ellos mismos, y aparentemente usando el spray equivocado. Ellos, a diferencia de nosotros, limpiaron su mesa de escombros en lugar de pedirle a alguien que subiera y lo hiciera. Al ser sucias, algunas luces habrían estado bien, aunque manejamos una mesa de ventana, así que podría haber sido peor. Los inodoros eran un poco de una zona de desastre, rollo de inodoro en todas partes excepto por el soporte de rollo de inodoro. Acababa de pagar más de £ 25 por dos sándwiches y cafés; me hubiera gustado un mejor ambiente para eso. No volveré, hay un Caffè Nero a la vuelta de la esquina.

Increíblemente grosero y confrontativo propietario / gerente. Mientras caminaba hacia el mostrador le dije ‘hola, ¿cómo estás!’ a la señora de cabello oscuro en el mostrador (que creo que es la dueña) , me encontré con una mirada enojada y un movimiento de cabeza como reconocimiento, no hola, no cómo estás, ni siquiera una palabra de presentación. Una forma muy extraña de saludar a un cliente, como dueño de un negocio uno pensaría que sería mejor en el servicio al cliente, pero a medida que la interacción continuaba su comportamiento era nada menos que grosero y conflictivo hasta el punto de que sentí que la estaba incomodando por estar allí en absoluto. Los asientos exteriores son hermosos, sin embargo, todo lo demás es mediocre, y su horrible actitud que se extiende a cómo trata a su personal, causando una puerta giratoria de lento nuevo - contrataciones, hace de este un lugar en el que nunca voy a desperdiciar mi dinero de nuevo.

The manager is sooooo rude to her staff always raising her voice at them I walked out without ordering when I saw the sandwich maker cross contaminate foods without changing her gloves!!! She picked up Tuna and spread it with her hand and then used the same hand any pit it in the ham!!! She the touch other sandwiches from the toaster all without changing her gloves!! If you have allergies or dietary requirements - I would avoid!

The woman who potentially owns the café, runs it and often is at the till is horrific. Rude, aggressive and openly argues and is confrontational with a huge majority of customers. I was met with a lot of aggression from her and terrible service. The food itself is overpriced and below average. This woman should not be the head of a business. If you want any form of customer service do not go here. No smiles and horrific interaction. Disgusting! I sat there with my family watching one customer after another, and after another complain about her.

Thought that place had the best sandwiches in town but alas not anymore. Ordered 2 Paninis that were actually very very far from being called Paninis. The bread was too hard, food placed randomly, quickly and falling out. Arrived barely warm which means no melting cheese inside. Had to ask for more pesto and got some sort of oily mixture - no really pesto. Asked for added tuna in one sandwich, got tons of tuna mayo (or more mayo tuna?). Worst bit? It took a good 45 min from queueing to place order to get our food. Ah forgot £2 for extra avocado that we had difficulties finding in the sandwich. We could have sent our order back but after waiting so long, we ate and left. Any positives? Yeah the outdoor seating and the fresh juices were alright. Would I come back? No. Recommend? Definitely not. Other places and cafés in town much better, not to mention the food stalls around the Market Place.

I have been going to The Teerace for years and despite the long queues and brusk behaviour the food was always worth it. Sadly this is no longer the case. We went yesterday and despite no queues ( maybe that was a sign) the service was still slow. Stood waiting to be acknowledged to order and then our sandwiches took 40 minutes to arrive. We ordered Parma club paninis and focaccia arrived instead. The bread was broken with the food falling out and it was extremely oily even without the avocado so we just gave up trying to eat them. Those who have experienced the manager will appreciate we just left without saying anything. Such a shame to see a lovely place go so down hill

Slowest service on earth. Really pathetic. Waiting to order and the server was more interested in chattering. Took forever to get 3 sandwiches - waited 30 minutes. Food was adequate.

Visited here for a late lunch. We had a mixture of sandwiches/ toasties/ focaccia and all were very good. Good tea and coffee. A busy and bustling place but highly recommended.

Delicious, but the lady, (I suppose the owner) is extremely rude, nervous and moody. I felt the nervousness as just a customer.

The terrace is always a great experience. Owner and staff are warm and friendly and the food is always fresh and delicious. Worth a visit if you are in Kingston.

We visited this establishment today before a show at the rose theatre. There are many cafes in the area & we chose this based on appearance. Unfortunately we shouldn’t have. Despite not being busy the lady behind the till was rude & gruff on arrival. The food we ordered was slow to come despite not being busy or an elaborate order. We ordered a croissant which they heated without asking & the sausage sandwich we received consisted of lukewarm hard pre cooked sausage that had obviously been a stuck in a microwave. When requesting ketchup & napkins ( neither offered or provided) the lady was dismissive & short. I am not asking to be treated as royalty but a degree of friendliness & courtesy should be expected by paying clients especially when food this poor quality for the price. It is obviously a place that is surviving on its prime location & attractive facade. Avoid- so many better cafes in locality.

I used to go to The Terrace quiet a bit with my mum growing up. It had a lovely atmosphere and great food. It has gone massively downhill since then. I took my two children for breakfast on Sunday morning, it wasn't particularly busy and there wasn't a queue to order. We had decided on two cooked breakfasts and some pancakes with Nutella. As we gave our order to the owner, she told us that they no longer do the Nutella pancakes even though they were advertised on the menu. She told us it was something to do with nuts, very surprised given that the pancakes below the ones we choose were peanut butter and there were almond croissants on the front counter. I had to ask my 8 year old to pick an alternative (easier said than done) to which the owner seemed put out to wait for a minute. I paid £47.80 for two orange juices, one cup of tea, one pancakes with peanut butter and maple syrup and two breakfasts. I did think that was expensive, however I thought the food would be good quality. I waited 25 minutes for the food to arrive, again the place was not busy. My daughters pancakes were shocking. It consisted of three little scotch pancakes (that looked like they came out a packet) with a little paper pot of peanut butter and another of maple sauce. It had some chopped up strawberries and bananas which to be honest was the best part of it, it was terrible value for money. My breakfast arrived, the sausage had been pre-cooked and warmed up. It was practically grey and shriveled up and still cold in the middle, as I had waited 25 minutes I sent it back to be sorted. My breakfast came back again but this time the hash brown was still frozen and the poached eggs on both breakfasts were solid. The bread was either an option of brown or white on the menu but in the end we weren't given a choice and got what they had. I decided to get a refund on my breakfast as I wasn't sending it back a second time. The owner wasn't apologetic and in fact came across as obnoxiously rude. Such a great shame as this place was lovely at one point and it feels like it's now trying to cut costs, serve below standard food and charge crazy prices. It's lost it heart and that's a great shame. On a side note if you are a vegan there are about 15 choices of cake, if you aren't there is about 3.

Superb food, including English, American and Turkish breakfasts, nicely presented. Plenty of seating, including outdoor.

I can’t believe this place only has 3.5 stars. Both our lunchtime salads were incredible! So tasty, big portion-I had the fish salad and there were ample crayfish and smoked salmon, avocado, creamy coleslaw, sun dried tomatoes plus usual salad ingredients. It isn’t cheap but the ingredients were first class. Looking around all the dishes looked lovely - lots of poached eggs going by. Service was a bit slow so don’t go here if you’re in a hurry but it was Saturday lunchtime when we got a table in the sun outside so we were happy to take in the last of the summer sun 😊

We ordered breakfast (1x full english, 1x salmon & scrambled egg, 2x coffees = £31.65), only found the price when we paid as the breakfast menu on the wall didn't have prices. Whilst waiting we looked at reviews and saw a few negative. However, our food arrived, freshly made, nicely presented and very tasty. A good quality bread (toasted) accompanied both plates. Very delicious. I'd come again 😊

I will not give this place anymore business. Every time we go here something is wrong . The lady who runs the till , I would imagine she’s the owner is rude and unapologetic. Instead of listening to what you are ordering she too busy watching all her staff , then the order comes wrong and she tells them to send the sandwich back to me as it’s what I ordered!! If you actually take the time to listen to what your customers are ordering you will put the order into the till correctly then you won’t have to blame the customer for your incompetence!!

Such a shame to have found that the usually amazing Terrace seems to have lost its way. I’ve been using this as my local for the past decade and absolutely love eating their delicious food al fresco in the midst of Kingston’s heritage apple market. The staff have always been friendly and chatty and I don’t mind spending a little bit extra for top quality scran in such a delightful location. Yesterday they were busy as it was lunchtime when I stood in line at the counter. The staff making the food are visible behind the refrigerated line and seemed to be stressed and annoyed. The man behind me in the queue reached for the menu which was in a perspex frame on the top of the counter (to be fair in very small print) to try to read the extensive offerings. The staff member behind the counter shouted at him to put it back. We were all shocked and the man laughed at the outburst and good humouredly explained he was just trying to read the menu. She shouted again for him to put it down. The mood immediately shifted and we glanced at each other and felt like naughty school children. The cashier was taking the orders and simultaneously making coffees and other drinks, so frequently stepped away from the register - I placed my order, paid the extortionate amount and she wordlessly stepped away before I received my receipt - having stood in the line for a significant period, I chose to return to my table rather than wait for it. Our food arrived - sadly the order was incorrect. I explained and the waitress delivering it looked annoyed and asked to see my receipt. I explained what had happened and she seemed angry, so I followed her back in to the shop to try to clarify with the cashier - the cashier immediately started to argue with me, and then thought better of it and said she would refund me the difference in my order and what she had charged me for (£31.30 for two drinks and two half sandwiches). She slammed a two pound coin in my hand and told me that was the difference in cost between the two sandwiches she had charged me for and the two half sandwiches I had actually wanted. I will certainly think twice before returning, which is a shame as I have been a regular for the best part of a decade.

I’ve eaten here a few times with my family. The food is great and the service is excellent. It takes me ages to decide what to order as the menu has got loads of delicious options. Your meals are prepared fresh using lovely tasty ingredients. We try to make sure we eat here when we pop into Kingston whether it’s for breakfast or lunch.

Sadly the review isn’t positive. The breakfast served wasn’t well presented or particularly nice to eat. I was staggered by quite high cost for what I got as well. Sorry but there are much better cafes in Kingston and I won’t be returning.

It is quite expensive to eat here but it worth every penny. The coffee is so good. The sandwiches are huge and fresh! Always leave feeling so full up. Highly recommend. If you think it’s too expensive don’t go but you’re missing out

The food is seriously overpriced here for what you actually get, I would recommend looking at the other cafes directly next door. Much better quality and better pricing too. This place used to be good but it’s really gone downhill.

This place is consistently great. They have a wide range of sandwiches as well as other foods. Their salt beef sandwich is outstanding - a very, very generous portion and great value too. Breakfast is somewhat special as well.

I’m surprised at the recent negative reviews. I visited a couple of months ago when they had the eat-out to help out offer on to grab a quick bit of breakfast and I thought it was ok! I had the terrace pancakes and berries with maple syrup and vanilla cream along with a coffee. The portion size was good and the pancakes were nice, nothing spectacular but perfectly pleasant none the less. My only slight criticism is once I got my food no one came to check if it was ok or to ask if I needed anything else so I had to go and find someone to get some sugar as there wasn’t any out on the tables. The eat-out to help out deal made my brekkie reasonably priced and I'm sure at some point I will try some lunch from here too.

Appalling place. with no care taken in covid pandemic. We called in here as the fabulous Fortunella was full. Our visit was at a time when Kingston is the 3rd highest borough for covid infections . We sat at a dirty table with dirty dishes on it for 20 mins! We had to ask for it to be cleaned . A female staff member with a mask on her mouth but not over her nose(useless) gave our table a very cursory clean. Customers are encouraged to move about as you have to order and pay at the counter, all other establishments insist on table service . We waited over an hour for a very unpleasant and anaemia looking panini and tea in a paper cup. My advice would just don’t bother, sadly they do not deserve your custom

Me horroricé al llegar cuando tardé 10 minutos en recibir mi pedido. Además de esto, tardó más de una hora en llegar mi comida. La comida era normal, pero lo que más me enfureció fue el atroz servicio. ¡Le di la vuelta a mi salchicha y encontré el cadáver de una gran mosca muerta! La camarera no pareció impresionada por mi queja, actuando como si nunca hubiera sucedido. Estoy sentado escribiendo esto todavía esperando después de media hora por mi comida de reemplazo. No volverán y creo que deberían repensar su modelo de negocio.

Vine aquí dos veces en un día, primero para tomar café y pasteles por la mañana, y luego para almorzar. La calidad de la comida aquí es excelente ya un precio muy razonable. SIN EMBARGO, el servicio parece funcionar en una escala de tiempo geológica. Tuvimos que esperar más de 30 minutos para nuestro café y pasteles. Siendo tipos indulgentes y porque la comida y las bebidas eran buenas les dimos el beneficio de la duda. Lamentablemente, nuestra experiencia durante el almuerzo fue aún más exasperante. Después de hacer cola durante 15 minutos, tuvimos que esperar 30 minutos nuevamente para que llegara nuestra comida, durante los cuales vimos al chef comiendo mientras preparaba la comida. Cuando finalmente llegó la comida, no trajeron las papas fritas. Cuando el camarero volvió, dejó las patatas fritas en la mesa equivocada. Cuando le pidieron cubiertos, nos trajo dos cuchillos de madera, no muy útiles. Este podría ser un lugar tan bueno, pero el servicio execrable lo decepciona muy, muy mal.

He comido muchos almuerzos en The Terrace y siempre disfruté de mi comida. Esta fue mi primera experiencia de brunch dominical y, desafortunadamente, los panqueques me decepcionaron.Se ven fabulosos y la fruta fue una gran adición. We had a lovely meal here today The staff are all very friendly and the restaurant is clean and tidy. The fish salad was delicious as was the rest of ours meals. Defiantly grab a smoothie whilst your there!

Usted paga una prima, pero ha valido la pena hasta ahora. Dos veces después de una espera decente para un sándwich recién hecho, volví a la oficina y mi pedido se equivocó. La semana pasada, mis elegantes huevos y tocino (deberían estar fríos con mayonesa y hojas) llegaron como un sándwich de huevo frito y tocino, no lo que quería horas después frío. Hoy el club Bacon & Acavcado - vino con tomates para tomar el sol y todo su aceite que no había pedido que no tuviera más avacdo no estaba maduro. Lady hasta encantadora, pero cuando trabaja tan rápido se apresura y ahí es donde se equivoca la orden.

Fue bueno en el pasado pero desesperadamente sobrecargado. Ofrecen demasiadas opciones para que el personal pueda hacer frente. Hoy esperamos más de 40 minutos para dos sándwiches y luego uno de ellos vino tostado, que no era como lo habíamos pedido. Casi todos los que ordenaron tener su comida estaban mirando claramente sus relojes durante cuánto tiempo les llevó. También aún más abarrotado donde hace cola ahora están sobredosificando en pasteles y cajas de pasteles alrededor de la entrada / caja.

Este lugar era nuestro lugar favorito en Kingston, pero como todas las cosas buenas, no duran para siempre. Me han cobrado tres veces en exceso durante mis últimas tres visitas por 2 en una factura de 20. La fortaleza de la Terraza son las mesas en el exterior, que son populares en los días templados en el área conocida como Apple Market.Para aquellos con largos recuerdos de Kingston, esto es justo al lado de donde solía estar la legendaria tienda de Watts Radio. Ahora es una cafetería multiusos durante todo el día, que se transforma desde el desayuno hasta el almuerzo hasta el té.Los desayunos incluyen panini, huevos hechos de todas las formas posibles y panqueques y tortillas.

I liked going here as a pit stop. Good coffee for premium prices. Everything is always good quality. Everyone is always friendly: customers and staff. Great customer service. Good location with the marketplace just a few metres away. Outside, inside and upstairs tables. This place offers smoothies, coffee, snacks, meals, cakes and more. It also has free WiFi. 9/10 would recommend

This use to be a really nice place with good food, unfortunately not the case anymore.Expensive and not that good ,sandwiches once were excellent but now just standard stuff .2 sandwiches 2 teas just under £20 .Toilets were filthy and this was before the lunch time rush .shame but won’t be going back.

...we visited this little place on Easter Sunday, and were very happy to find it open as a lot of places were shut or not opening until later on. We both had a very nice breakfast sandwich served on lovely fresh bread...I had sausage and egg which was cooked perfectly with a runny yolk, along with a good coffee and fresh juice. Service was pretty swift, and the price wasn’t bad at all, coming to around £16 for 2 people. A good little find in the centre of Kingston and good food.

Such a gorgeous place with loads of seating outside and inside. Fantastic food, independent family run, professional staff and great atmosphere. Great for all ages including young families. Fabulous portions and food value. Highly recommended!

I passed it at 7am (!) and asked if they were open; they were - and I had an excellent breakfast. Terrific scrambled eggs (with chives) and lovely field mushrooms. Would certainly recommend.

The English breakfast was £8 and was an extremely small portion given the price. You could get better for half the cost. It didn’t even seem like a full egg and if you take away the beans and bread it’s barely anything.

Didn’t even want to give 1 star. How businesses employ nowadays baffles me. Don’t go here unless you want someone to hand you your food without saying anything then rolling their eyes at you and sighing when you ask for one small request. Sad really.

They forgot about our order and we waited for 40 minutes for literally a sandwich. It wasn't even an amazing sandwich which hurts my heart. They need to be more organised.

I used to love this place and although it’s slightly more expensive than other places in Kingston it used to be worth it for the generous and delicious fillings, even though the queue and subsequent wait for the order would be upwards of 30 minutes. Not impressed anymore. The ‘Manager’ is rude, bordering on offensive and the prices don’t justify the lack of quality and stingy fillings. Such a shame this has happened as it used to be our favourite place for lunch. Just not worth it anymore.

This is a popular place because you can get a wide range of sandwiches made to order here. They also do breakfasts, soups and salads plus cake & beverages. The choices are plentiful. It's hard to know what to have but you can eat in or take away. There is outside seating too. The standard's always good.

My friend and I met at the terrace today for a cuppa and a light bite to eat. I did not fancy sandwiches so I later ordered their broccoli soup which was the only soup on their menu. The soup was served in a large bowl filled to the brim with a consistency of pureed baby food. It was the most disgusting broccoli soup I had ever tasted. In fact, when it was served to me I felt embarrassed as it looked like sh*t. I did not eat it. I later realised it was soup of the day! Yuk. This is truly disgusting, please do not serve this as the other food you serve is ok.

Went for lunch with two colleagues and we were shocked by the extortionate prices - £15 for a small omelette, fries and tiny coffee. We wouldn’t mind so much if the service and food was great but both were poor, especially the service. The wrong orders were brought out, not once but three times! No apology for the inconvenice and mistake. Waited 10 minutes for condiments to be brought out. Just awful service and overpriced food, will go next door in future.

Went there today for sandwich,service was terrible. Waited at the counter for someone to serve me while three people just ignored me. Coffee and sandwich were ok,not worth the price tho

we popped in here for food and drinks the other day and we were greeted by a very friendly lady. Outstanding Knowledge & Energy explaining on vegan and gluten free items. Attention to detail in everything

A great brunch experience. Visited on a sunday with friends. Ordered at the front counter then went upstairs. The food and drinks arrived at our table fairly quickly. We ordered full English breakfast the staff were more than happy to swap tomatoes and mushroom for some extra hash browns. Amazing service and the restaurant looked beautiful interior design wise.

Waited 40 minutes after paying for our sandwiches. Condescending lady operating the till said ‘everything is made freshly’ to anyone who has the temerity to complain. Expensive, not really worth the wait. Oh there is WiFi.

I went here with my friend for lunch. We had the roast beef sandwich with fries and I couldn’t be happier. The food was plentiful, fresh and delicious.

I have just spent six minutes with two friends waiting to be served in The Terrace. We stood and watched a waitress make a few sandwiches for a take away customer who wasn’t there and a barista shuffling some cups by his coffee machine. Neither could say hello, neither could say “I’ll be with you in a minute.” They completely ignored us.

El menú ofrece mucha variedad, pero el desayuno es donde está! ¡Siempre llega a mi mesa exactamente como me gusta y es mi remedio para la resaca! Escuchar que están abriendo más locales es una delicia y no sorprende, ya que la comida aquí es excelente.

I had a home made soup and it was super perfect I go places to eat or drink every day all over London because I am a pensioner I have a lot time to do what I like the terrace eatery is one of the places I enjoy . I do not look to complain on how they serve or how they do the food I am happy to go there

they are making fun with the costumers! had very bad experience a few days ago and I will never go again. they don't know how to listen and brings you wrong order as well

We regularly stop here for breakfast before shopping in Kingston. Unfortunately, we were very disappointed with our visit this morning.

I went here to grab a quick coffee. For £2,20 I got a small cup and the guy fist put the coffee and after added water? I’m sure I asked for an Americano no an espresso with added water... won’t go again

Como otros críticos, este solía ser mi lugar favorito para un sándwich o un desayuno en Kingston. Hay una buena variedad de sándwiches y me gusta especialmente su pan integral. El tiempo que se tarda en entregar los sándwiches y el hecho de que cuando llegan normalmente faltan, por ejemplo, las hojas mezcladas indicadas en el menú nos han llevado a encontrar otros lugares para comer. Fuimos hoy sin embargo, como sabemos, entregan un buen desayuno todo el día rápidamente (parece que hay dos equipos en la cocina). Pensamos que el camarero había cometido un error con nuestro gran americano y café cuando llegaron en tazas pequeñas en lugar de las tazas normales, pero aparentemente han cambiado su vajilla pero no sus precios. Los cafés eran sosos.

La señora de la caja, que parecía ser la dueña, crea un ambiente muy desagradable, desafortunadamente. Ella seguía gritando y gritando al personal de una manera muy ruidosa y poco profesional, lo cual me pareció un poco molesto, ya que parecía que todos estaban haciendo lo mejor que podían.

Never have I met someone running a restaurant/cafe as rude as the woman I encountered at the Terrace last week. The girls that used to run the place were exceptional. They made me and my returning friends feel so welcome but the woman running the place now is extremely unfriendly and actually shouted at some customers telling them they couldn't have something the way they liked it which is how the terrace has always operated. We used to love having avocado smashed on toast but my recent trip ended in me being told that wasn't allowed even though the girls have never had a problem with it before.

I had been visiting The Terrace for a few years but in the last year the quality and value has gone down rapidly with my visits becoming less often. I hate to leave bad reviews but I really think after today’s lunch of a tricolore panini with only two small slices of mozzarella in the panini and paid over £5 for it, enough is enough. The quality of products, staff and service have all declined. It feels that the eatery is now more concerned with making as much money as possible rather than good food. The tables are cramped together. Today all the cakes were uncovered by the till and while waiting for my take away panini all I could think about was the amount of people sneezing, coughing and talking while at the till, children poking their fingers in them and generally the cakes getting dry and hard in the exposed air. When you are paying a significant amount of money for what should be good food it’s so upsetting when all you end up with is something you of got in the fridge counter at Sainsbury’s.

Improve your food. Too complacent. Ordered jacket potato had grit. Cheap ingredients. Arrogant owners.
