Went last weekend with visiting family, Our granddaughters Birthday next week, But we took a cake with us and asked if they could bring it out with the candles we provided, They turned the lights off and we all sang Happy Birthday to her including staff and other diners. Food was amazing, that's why we have been again today. Staff Brilliant 👏 Very clean and nothing is to much trouble. See you all again soon. Patrick & family

Comida fresca, sabrosa, destacaban los enormes, amable y Yorkshire ayuda personal, buen ambiente, limpio, bien presentado y la zona moderna. Me encanta todo acerca de este lugar... ha sido un domingo en numerosas ocasiones, algunas veces tres domingos continua, y durante la noche también! Es razonable y nada es demasiado problema!

No nos habíamos comido un almuerzo de domingo en mucho tiempo y por el boca a boca había oído buenas críticas acerca de este lugar. Reservamos con antelación y nuestro oder fue tomado rápidamente a la llegada. Ambos pedimos cordero para principal y tenía el menú de tres platos por 10.95. La comida era precioso, Yorkshire pudding del más alto nivel, excelente selección de verduras y el cordero era tierna y sabrosa y abundante. Realmente disfrutamos de nuestros desiertos. Comimos oír el domingo como un grupo de familiares de 10 y no sabíamos qué esperar. Pero era mucho mejor de lo que esperábamos, nos dieron entrantes de patés, salmón y sopa y todos eran muy buenos. El domingo nos asados eran una excelente relación calidad-precio y muy sabroso y con un montón de verduras. También encontramos que para los postres de helados, Apple crumble y pegajosa pudding toffees, y todos eran exuberante. Sin embargo, el pegajosa pudding toffees podría haber sido más grande. El servicio fue excelente, desde la mujer en cargos y volveremos a probar la noche mexicana.

Went for a boxing day walk and stopped for a bite to eat, this is a lovely coffee shop that also has a bar! Food is delicious and so fresh! Plenty of space to sit, love the barrels with seating around them the character of this place is perfect, and looking out over the harbour whilst it is slightly raining is a lovely vantage point!! We were visiting relatives but next time we are up we will be going back here again, it's also a dog friendly place which is a nice touch as they need to rest too haha, if mobility is an issue they have tables outside, I think they would nice things about to get a wheelchair in but tables and comfy seats are scattered around, live stop if you fancied watching the world pass you by with a latte or a gin, yep I did both obviously for research purposes 🫣

Main StreetLovely pub to go for a drink. Only pub close to where we were staying. No food served here. Dog friendly. Closed Monday and Tuesday. Close to request stop railway station. Open 2pm til pub empty. Makes sence. Friendly people.

Gilcrux, Wigton, CumbriaWe came here for Sunday Lunch. It is advisable to book as I don't think they accept walk-ins. The roast dinner (I had chicken) was absolutely amazing, really good. Prices are very reasonable. Nice cosy village pub in the middle of nowhere - make sure you search it out.

Church StreetLovely friendly independent cafe based in the church at Frizington. When we went we had booked because it gets packed out by local residents. My friend is local but I was visiting . We ordered tea for two and a lovely big pot with China cups and saucers arrived. More hot water to top up the pot no problem ! My friend had a delicious ( massive) omelette , salad and chips. I had the steak pie ( gorgeous gravy) , vegetables and again the wonderful home made chips ( best ever) . Crumbles or ginger cake with custard for dessert. I just loved the lively atmosphere . So great to see a place thriving in the north west lakes. A real hidden gem.
