We always go here for our Sunday lunch absolutely beautiful, definitely recommend 👌 service is amazing and the staff too.

If you want a proper fry up this is the place. If you want real home-cooked food that isn't bought in and made up to serve the masses, this is the place. Cannot recommend this place enough. Its a "real" cafe/diner with real food and real people, and realistic prices, you cannot say fairer than that.

Not sure what was worse, the look of the place or the staff that looked like they would rather have their organs harvested than work here. The coffee is brown water served with milk on the side, like a little pot of milk hides the dross in the mug. Cheap ingredients, poorly cooked.. Dirty, filthy floors and walls... In any other town this place would fail but due to the locals I'm sure it will be here in 20 years time, probably about the same time as the nect deep clean

I passed this place many times but was always working , anyway me and my girlfriend fancied a coffee on Saturday and a rest , on the way to the counter we noticed what looked like the best home cooked food we had seen in ages and changed our order from just a coffee to Mince and Dumplings with chips and veg instead - OMG the flavour of everything was superb , the food was hot , the veg was absolutely fresh and the flavour had not been boiled out of it like some places and the mince and dumplings where as nice as what my Mam used to make , plenty of gravy on and excellent service - would we go back - we would be bloody silly not to - fantastic food at a fair price is hard to find nowadays. Thanks to all staff totally enjoyed.

Went for an early breakfast bacon like leather toast burnt poor quality at best.

I got a Sundays dinner today delivered we got extra large ones and it was by the best dinner I've ever had not expensive neither and the portions are huge could have fed 3 people of one dinner I even halfed my dinner and kept some for tea it's that nice! Staff are all really nice and this is my new go to for dinners! Thankyou xxxx

We booked the Thames Diner to cater for our wedding buffet on August 6th 2022. We were shocked on arrival at our evening buffet/disco venue to find that there was NO buffet. This should have been our happiest day. Instead, I had the stress of trying to find an out of hours phone number and announcing to the guests that there would be no buffet. Very embarrassing. We managed to locate the caterer who told me she thought the wedding was September 6th, despite us going in twice to book and pay. Eventually, the woman turned up with an array of deep fried food and some bread buns. Not the cold buffet that we were promised. The food ran out. The venue told us that the same caterer had forgotten a funeral buffet. We tried to get some money back but all she offered was two roast dinners! We are very disappointed. How could she get it so wrong?

Food is very tasty and at a reasonable price. I feel what let's this place down is the poor and slow service.I will go back but not as often due to the poor and slow service.

I have been the recipient of several takeaway meal gifts supplied by Thames Diner and they have all been excellent (the latest was an afternoon tea for two on my birthday) and I will be using them myself in the future.

Ordered a Sunday lunch takeaway.First of all telephoned to order but lady said she would call us back.Waited 3 hours and no return call.Telephoned again and lady said she hadn’t forgotten us and she would ring back.No return call.Called a third time and a different lady answered and said it wasn’t her fault .Our order was then taken and delivery promised for 11-30; to 12-30 on the Sunday. Come 12-45 no meal.Sent a message via Facebook and reply came back that they only had 2 delivery drivers and neither of them were back yet.No explanation about food.Message then received that other orders had taken priority.The food eventually arrived at 1-30 but we had made alternative arrangements.The food was kept to be warmed up later in the day. Eventually they offered us a free meal the following Sunday which we declined. This is extremely poor customer service and life is too short to be hanging around for food without being given an adequate explanation up front. We like to support local business but this kind of service is not acceptable.

Terrible service staff were sat at table eating eventually came to take order. Ordered jackets were told they were over cooked could we order something else. Sausage was cheap soup was nice but was just warm. Didn't get my change from the price difference. Staff arguing about who doing tables. Place was a mess staff drinking alcohol and their friends sprawled around the sofas definitely won't bother to return

This place as got better ,food was very good and the staff are more friendly .Most say i like it now and will go back next week

Friendly staff, happy to make your meal the way you ask. The cheese savoury was very tasty.

Food here is beautiful, sometimes you have to wait as all food is cooked fresh to order and it's not a fast food outlet!!! But it is undoubtedly worth the wait!! Always a friendly welcome from the staff ❤️

3 of us came to eat here we ordered 2 all day breakfasts and a lasagne with chips one breakfast came but with no toast then 15 mins later a lasagne came but it was another 10-15mins before the other breakfast came again with no toast when we asked for it the attitude of the server was shocking by the time we left we still didn't get the toast

Enjoyed our meal waited a while .unfortunately someone had turned my toadtie of so the owner apologised for the wait and bought me a cheese scone while I waited for it.

The staff act like they don't want to take your order. Just stand and stare for a while. A smile and a hello would of been nice. . The food tastes nice apart from Yorkshire puddings which are soft and watery. Nice quiet cafe just need friendly staff.

This is a gem hidden away in Thames Centre, waiting to be discovered. The staff are always friendly, there's a good local feel to the diner with plenty of banter going on and the food is all cooked on the premises with scones and cakes second to none. The food could easily be served in a really up-market place, the coffee is always excellent, good quality filter coffee and very good old-fashioned, home-made meals.

Fresh homemade food and dinners every day. Dinners come in two sizes Small for £3.50 and Large for £4.95. Recommend the Mince and Dumplings. Friendly staff in warm comfortable surroundings. Various drinks available.

We were looking for a mid-day snack and selected the Thames Diner, which is a basic cafe at one end of the shopping centre. It was quite busy when we arrived, but we found a table and ordered our requirements at the counter. We were advised that there would be a slight delay, which was not an issue. The snack and drinks were delivered to our table with an apology for the short wait. The food and drinks were of good quality and represented good value. There was a little delay in clearing some of the tables after use but this did not affect us. Overall the Thames Diner appeared to be popular and provided good value in a basic setting.

Good fresh food from early bird breakfast to lovely lunch. Popular with locals. Good prices and friendly staff. Mostly family run enterprise.
