Good gin. Popped in for 2 drinks with my boyfriend, was cheap and bar staff was friendly. Cute smoking area and friendly customers too.

We popped in to try a pint or two of lager ... first one smelled awful and tasted even worse .. sent back to the bar and exchanged for Coors .. no better than the first beer .. we ended up leaving two beers without supping any .. will not be going back to this place .. Bar staff came out with the usual dumb response .. must the first pints out

Stumbled across this place on a quiet midweek night and called in for a pint. Has a small downstairs bar and then steps up to the main bar and a further corridor to a games room. Has a very traditional feel to it with the décor and signage. The bar is quite old fashioned but in a good way - you have to avoid the decorative partitions in order to catch the eye of the serving staff though. A very interesting place and nice to see a strong old-style 'pub' feel retained throughout. Enjoyed it.

Has a nice looking bar but it feels very cramped inside. Diddnt have a great atmosphere but that might just have been unfortunate timing. Might visit again next time I’m in Huddersfield but won’t be my first choice for a drink.

We called in on Friday night ( 2nd visit ) and it was ok , not too easy to get served as the lower bar is ensconced in an old wooden bar fascia which can make it difficult in attracting bar staffs attention. The dj played a decent selection of tunes from pretty modern to northern soul classics. Worth calling in if you're passing.

Sunday dinner was excellent, was in Hudds and decided to pop in here. They also do a fantastic pint of Golden Pippin too. 2 off Pork, 1 off beef, 1 off chicken dinner. Well done - would defo come here again.

Lovely lunch at this city centre pub. Really lovely tuna sandwich on crusty bread. So cheap everything was about £4. Definitely recommend.

Great old pub with a nice range of drinks. Enjoyed a nice mulled wine and escaping from the cold. They have a big range of gins if that's your thing.

Been coming here on and off on a Sunday for about 4 years traditional Sunday lunch very filling and cheap. Definitely recommend

This is a town centre pub that serves food. The bar area is on two levels with a step in the middle, and there is a dining room at the rear, which is not immediately obvious on entering. Food and drinks are ordered at the bar and the traditional facia/partition does not make it easy to attract staff attention from the lower level. The menu does not have a wide range, but there was sufficient choice for us. Payment is required in cash. When the food arrived, the quantity and quality represented good value. The traditional ambiance contributed to a pleasant visit.
