Best pub on south road by far an Always the busiest with the best atmosphere and great selection of drinks available, always a great time in here the bar staff are great aswell and the manageress is fab the best even, highly recommend th)is pub an they have karaoke every Friday, Saturday and Sunday evening aswel.

I only go in there when l go to Crosby . I live about 5miles away was it's not around the corner But when l do it's always busy and the beer is well priced.

A strange place, this. I visited this place 5 times, and to this day, I have no idea what the manager or any of the staff are called. They are very, very impersonal. It's always crowded and, consequently, expect very long waits at the bar. The clientelle are mostly friendly, but some are strangely manic and drunk, and I never felt entirely at ease here. I was, in fact, assaulted by a drunken loon one night while minding my own business. The doormen sorted this for me very quickly. I was blameless in this. The manager actually approached me and apologised for the incident. The only conversation I'd ever had with any of the staff. On my last visit, the doormen, one of whom I'd never met before, refused entry to my family, who were 18 and 21, and had photo identification, which is why I no longer visit. I will never, ever return.

Not the same atmosphere anymore. The fab djs have changed and this had had a negative impact. Drinks are still a good price but without the charismatic people who used to go in here its not the same.

Brilliant as always. Rachel is esp amazing. Don't know how she can remember everyone's order. I thought I'd have to wait a bit but she was just like, "what are you having?" While pouring another order. Got our drinks very quickly <3<3

I went into the Alex pub for a few drinks with friends. The staff were nice, even though they were very busy. Yet a heavy set woman sat in the corner called Annette was swearing about every person who passed her including myself. I was told by a local person that she was caught on camera stealing shopping bags from a "cockney Chris" a few years ago in a pub around the corner. The local man who told me, Dave the lorry driver said her brother Francis is nice, its just her who swears and takes peoples belongings. She ruined the whole experience! Wont go into a pub in Waterloo if she is present.

Went here whilst visiting friends last month. The bar staff and manager are the most miserable and unfriendly individuals ever witnessed. I handed in £20 and was given the change of £10. Something dodgy, I pulled them up and they soon returned my change! Stinks inside too, its been turned into a youth club with tacky theme nights since new Manager took over. Better pubs to try on South road without doubt

The drink are reasonably priced. The staff are lovely and very hard working. The atmosphere is very chilled with a lovely clientele 😀😀😀

How can I rate it any less than 5, Waterloo's "Loss Isely" is how someone described it to me before I first went in, it's certainly full of characters, but you'd have to be pretty obnoxious to find trouble in here!
