Friendly staff, friendly customers ,a proper old fashioned pub

Decent pub for football and a good pool table. They don’t take cards though and some of the locals could do with a bag of edible crayons to munch on. Remember back in the day they use to do lock-ins most weekends - it’s only now I realise that it was primarily to protect the local community. Still, there’s a lot worse pubs about and will likely return.

Went with brothers sisters and partners after laying our mums ashes. Last Friday. Fantastic place.loved it

This place is just great. I was attending a funeral close by, & booked this place for a gathering & food afterwards. Right from the off, they filled me with confidence that we were in good hands. The amount of food set out was just huge, but it had the quality to go with the quantity. It had it all. Roast beef, chicken, pork, even beef dripping breadcakes. The pickle tray in particular was awesome. I've been to some really well regarded Indian restaurants that could learn a thing or two from this place. The good crowd of old timers in the place were really friendly too. Nothing not to like, great place run by great people.

Went to a physic evening at The Angel. Fab night and they put on a fantastic buffet. Proper chips as well. Staff were lovely. 👍🏻

The landlord clearly does not like young people, was very rude said my sisters ID was fake, this was untrue He was rude to her and her friends, all over 18 all lovely girls all with the correct ID. Then was abrupt to my Mother when she tried to address the issue. Needs to work on his customer service skills.

Land lord fatty pays me for fishing lessons.

What a terribly judgemental place with 1960’s views and language. If you’re not local, not 50 plus etc then you must be up to no good rather than enjoying a few drinks. My money is too good for their till.

Not so much disliked the place, the staff could make the effort to at least smile (where paying there wages after all) plus car park on the small side (got blocked in)

Always some 1 in to chat two and you can have A good time not bad priced for drinks and has dico on every 2 weeks with the old videos

First time I've been as I travelled from Doncaster to meet my son's girlfriends parents for the first time. It's a lovely friendly pub.

Quality boozer best pint in sheffield and if it's not they happy to change it good people good times highly recommend it to people who like a boozer to be how it should be

I would just like to thank Chris for the lovely buffet and his hospitality extended to Pauline and all her friends on her retirement do last night. Fabulous place. Always a warm welcome and a big thank you to the lovely bar staff that were so friendly and worked hard to make us all welcome and any other staff behind the scenes that helped too. I was only doing a job there not as a patron.

I was delighted to find that almost all of the menu was gluten free with so many options to choose from. I went for the three cheese souffle for starter, Rump steak for main served with chips, onion rings, mushrooms tomatoes. Finally for dessert I had lemon posset with homemade shortbread. The food was presented nicely with good size portions of amazing grub! The price is a bit steep but definitely worth it!!

It was 2 small for my liking not hardly room in carpark and food was awful I felt so sick when I came home I wouldn't recommend it
