Thought it was pretty decent pub ,enjoyed the food ,staff were very friendly, the drinks were very reasonable priced, staying at the premier inn about 10 mins walk from there ,looked at there menus and drinks price and wasn't impressed so really glad we went to your pub ,thanks for a good night

10/10 we booked a table for 22. No orders wrong, all orders came at the right time and the price is fantastic. As southerners (a football team travelling for a game) we thoroughly enjoyed the food and it’s remarkable they got everything right and in time. Well done to all the team, it’s a rarety this happens for us.

been here several times for family and friends gathering and never dissapointed, in fact only pub/restaurant that ive been lot last year, husband whos picky with foods was very happy as well good food choices/taste, cost efficient, fast staff service may it be small or large group, good atmoshpere. will always comeback🙂

Great food and service if a little understaffed.

Lovely Christmas fayre meal. Only a couple of issue sat next to a fire door that the staff allowed to use to go outside to smoke so I was freezing cold. Asked a staff member to close the door but still allowed customers to use it..... I thought a fire door should be used in an emergency only. An older blond lady serving on the bar was also super rude, no idea what customer service is.....

Having booked a table for my nans 80th today I can not thank the staff enough! Made the birthday lady feel like the queen! Nothing was too much trouble and food was loved by all the party! Thank you 🙏🏼

We wanted to use the kids eat for £1 and we were told by the only waitress working that night, that it was only valid from Monday till Thursday and not Friday. When we questioned why and explained that the website wrote Monday to Friday, she still dismissively responded that Friday was a weekend so wasn't included, and then walked away without even waiting to hear us out. We found her to be quite dismissive from the moment we entered. Initially, when we sat down at a table, she walked past us and just blurted something out that sounded like she was telling us that we would be waiting for food for an hour. We weren't sure if she was talking to us or not, so we waited for her to return and then we asked what she meant and she just answered dismissively once again that we shouldn't bother about it. The annoying thing is that we almost left but then decided to try and order our food at the bar instead to see if we could get the offer because it was clearly meant to be applicable. Guess what, we were told we could actually get the kids meal for £1 which we eventually ordered from someone else behind the bar. So we still don't know why she gave us wrong information. We will probably never go back based on how unfriendly and unwelcoming this waitress was at the start of our visit. It felt like she didn't want us there. The only reason I gave more stars was the food which absolute amazing. That was the only saving grace from out entire evening. Don't even get me started with one of the bar men whom we ordered drinks from. He too did not seem to want to to talk to us either so I just gave up bothering trying to talk with the staff.

Me and my partner we went for breakfast, upon ordering I was told they were only serving full English breakfast which is fine I didn’t mind also two refill drinks . When I asked for refills I was told at the bar on coffee or latte there are no refills I had to pay again which I did . From the beginning guy at the bar serving had a bad attitude when I said that he should have told me upon ordering that they don’t do refills on them drinks. I da I should have been told about this or should have been written note on their menu. I was poorly treated, cos I am not native I have had been discriminated . When I said I wanted to put a complaint both him and his manager was not wearing any name badges girl at the bar said your complaint would come to me anyway acting that she was the manager . Would never go there again, very bad customer service by staff especially if you are not native they simply don’t care about you discriminate you and be rude.

Use to be quite cheap for a pint and glass of wine, no different to any other pubs with better atmosphere and clientele

Excellent menu and food! It was a bit slow when we came to visit but they gave us starters on the house as we weren’t aware of the waiting times. Staff were all lovely and attentive, and most of all I thoroughly enjoyed my grilled steak. It’s also super affordable, which was a bit astonishing tbh given the quality of the food. I will surely be coming back for more.

First visit to a sizzling pub and very impressed. Had two meals for £12 which were both tasty and filling. Lovely, attentive staff who managed to fit us in and nice pints of doom bar. Absolutely faultless, especially for the money price. Which all pubs were like this!

Really is a great pub , brilliant management and bar staff , never any issues with food , amazing loyalty scheme

Made a location based choice to visit as it's very close to the Premier Inn and it wasn't clear if their restaurant was open during our stay (possibly renovation works). Generally a good choice - good food selection and food was lovely. Portions a little on the small side but for the price, it is reasonable and it was actually preferably to pubs that serve massive portions that are only finished with difficulty and leave you feeling uncomfortable. I would advise booking if you can (we couldn't as we were travelling and didn't have a definite arrival time). We almost left as the only non-reserved seating was next to extremely loud speakers, games provision (darts and pool) and multiple TVs showing sports. However when we asked if there definitely weren't non-reserved tables in quieter areas, staff turned the speakers off for us. Ordering food all seems to be done via an app now (though presume you can also order at the bar too). Drinks service was immediate and they let us know food could be a 30-45 minute wait. Frustratingly that information isn't available before ordering and paying on the app so it's not possible to make an informed choice, but nice for staff to tell us, and it turned out to be an overestimation and food arrived much quicker. Toilets seemed decent and there's a toilet in the baby change facility which is always very helpful!! The car park layout needs a rethink though. Disabled spaces are quite a long way from the entrance across the car park - there's parking much closer (adjacent to the entrance) that would be more suitable for disabled access and disabled spaces should be moved there.

Randomly stopped here was pleasantly surprised the meal was alright for a chain , also the staff were friendly

Just enjoyed a couple of beers and fish and chips dinner, lovely outdoor seating area with a outdoor TV (Olympics) staff were pleasant and friendly, service was 5* cost was pretty good £4.50 for a pint of Stella and the fish and chips was around £9, good way to spend a couple of hours

Never-seen before experiences in an English pub!!! With features like darts, poker club(?), outdoor and indoor dining, sports streaming inside and outside!!! Lovely staff, too!

4 stars for the food but 1 star for the service. I'm am beyond shocked at the way the young man behind the bar disregarded me & served another man who had LITERALLY just got there

Generally quite busy even on a Wednesday good value food, good Lager & Beer.

Good food at good prices but had to wait for over 45 mins for drinks and same again for food and they didn't seem to care

Popped in for a quick lunch with my mum, I ordered the chicken gyros wrap and a side of cheesy chips. Food came fairly quickly. My wrap was absolutely drenched in 'hot sauce' (more like sweet chilli) when I picked it up to eat it the sauce was all over my fingers and dripping out the other end. I wasn't expecting much from a ding ding place but that was ridiculous

We got there and it seamed as if they had not paid their electric bill, it was dark and dinghy. We ordered our food and was told there would be an half hour wait, we ordered our food and drink and waited, 40 minutes later it arrived. I had ordered the Gammon and my wife had the Sausage and mash. My wife said she enjoyed hers but the Sausage skin was very chewy and wasn't nice. I started on mine and what a let down, the Gammon was grisly and full of fat the chips were warm and the peas could have been use as spread shot the egg was solid but the pineapple was the best part of the meal. I expected somebody to come to the table to ask if our meal was OK but this never happened. As I was hungry after the extended wait I ate what I could. Yuk. Will I go back, you have got to be joking.

Family of 5 meal , was quite disappointed to be honest. We have been several times before and never had any issues but tonight i dont really have anything good to say im afraid. Food took about an hour to come, sizzer not sizzling and did not look as it reads on the menu . My buger looked like Stevie Wonder put it together and the size of the meals for the price is deffo not what we expected, they were like large kids meals. Puddings were not the best either burnt tasting brownies and a distinct lack of ice cream in the chocolate sundae 👎 spent just shy of £90 and went home hungry 😒

As a paying customer I expect to order what I recieved. And when I spoke with your duty manager, he agreed your menu is grammatically incorrect and has appealed a change… we are still waiting the change. Can you at least make your menu state the facts and exact ingredients in the meals… especially when some people could have allergies and you aren’t ensuring your reaching customer satisfaction

Staff are friendly, very clean environment. Food is excellent, well worth a visit, kids welcome .

A little disappointed with our food today. We ordered 2 cluckin hot stack, not much hot sauce, one had no jalapeños at all No one ever came to ask if our meals were OK

Went out for a late dinner, service was spot on wonderful staff. Food was amazing couldn’t fault any of it, compliments to the chefs. Waiting on staff very courteous. Food came out quick. Large range of meals to choose from and the kids menu is brilliant too!! Highchairs were clean so were the tables and the toilets. Wonderful atmosphere. Highly recommend. Would go again and again. Very good value for money.

Great value menu especially Mon - Friday with 2 mains for £11.75. Nice food selection and tasty. Very popular venue so was very busy!

Waited an hour after ordering food, but at least it was hot, when it eventually arrived.

Sure and turf disappointing as the onions stuck to the skillet mushrooms dry chips under cooked,fish on the fish and chips was watery. Food doesn't look anything like the pictures advertising the food on the menu. Other food was ok

Not enough staff to cope as It was busy and it took 15 minutes to get served and then another delay ordering the meal but all of the staff were polite and friendly,meals were excellent and will look forward to our next visit as the meal quality made up for any delays

Every Saturday morning we go out as a bunch of ‘older’ ladies, we have seen and eaten many breakfasts across Derby (and beyond) but we were so surprised with the level of service, hot plates and high level of attention to detail even down to how well the bacon and mushrooms were cooked! The price is very reasonable too, definitely happy to come back again!

As a bunch of ladies, we have breakfast out every Saturday we have seen and eaten many good brekkies, but I can say hand on my heart this was the best by far. Absolutely delicious, plates hot, bacon just right, mushrooms perfect and the hash brown tots were sublime. The price is very very reasonable too. We will definitely be back 😘

1st time in the Argosy for years. We met friends for a meal & drink & the food is very nice, the staff are very friendly & very helpful. We will go again.

Service was good but the sirlion steak was one of the worst I have ever had! It could not be chewed as it was filled with string sinews. I managed with what was left on my plate!

Nice breakfast but bacon was a little too well done for me hence the 4 star. In hindsight I should have stated I didn't want well done. Plenty of parking, staff very friendly and food reasonably priced

Busy night but staff working hard

I take my grandson here regularly. The last time I visited was new years eve at 1pm. The lady behind the bar barely cracked a smile and the please and thank yous grudgingly given. I had scampi, not the lite bite, I received 6 small bits of scampi and a very small portion of chips. My grandsons lunch was bigger than mine. I was quite disappointed in this visit. I shall persuade him to go elsewhere in future.

We went here for Christmas day and were so disappointed. The service was poor and we had to ask twice where our food was. The salmon and turkey were nice but the vegetables were hard and the apple pie was cold and awful. Overall not worth paying £51.99 for.
