The Argyle in Camden

I recently visited for a 60th celebration, and it was the perfect setting for a lovely afternoon. What truly made the experience stand out, however, was the friendly staff. From the moment we walked in, everyone made us feel right at home. Overall, The Argyle is a great choice for any occasion, whether you're stopping in for a casual pint or celebrating a special moment. Highly recommend!

Visited The Argyle for the first time yesterday. Loved it, proper pub, lovely bar staff and a platter of food which was of the nicest pub food Ive had. Def will go again, def recommend.

Clearly a very well run pub. Draft beer spot on; thank you for cleaning the pipes. Marvellous greeting from all the staff, very friendly & professional. Pub itself is very warm with charming traditional features throughout and no super loud music, thank goodness! Spotlessly clean including WC! Wonderful couple of hours, definitely be back.

Just had an amazing lunch at The Argyle with four generations of family celebrating my mum's 70th. Donna, Anthony and Pedro could not have been more welcoming and accommodating. Nothing was too much trouble and they made us feel completely at home. We'll be back!

Good pub, decent food and friendly staff.

Last night we booked the Terrace Bar to begin with at 6pm for a team meeting and then we moved down to The Vault Bar in the basement for my retirement party with pizza and more beer. I have to say the bar staff and the venue were great. Hiring the rooms was straightforward and easy. Pat was great. We all had a great time. Thankyou for everyone who worked hard on the evening especially to those that kept hmgetting me pints of Timmy Taylors.

Nos detuvimos mientras esperábamos que mi anillo fuera cambiado de tamaño en una joyería local y fue increíble! El ambiente y la decoración era tan encantador y las patatas fritas de trufa eran deliciosos! Nos encontramos con Aoife, que estoy seguro de que había estado trabajando cuando llegué antes y era tan amable como la primera vez, ella estaba haciendo preguntas sobre lo que nos compró a la zona y nos estaba escuchando divagar sobre los planes de boda y parecía realmente tomar e interés y nunca nos sentimos apresurados. Sin duda volveremos de nuevo!

What a find this place was on our recent trip to London. The staff here are lovely - great communication before we arrived, very accommodating when we were there, pleasant, friendly and humorous! Special thanks to Miguel for looking after us so well. Found the gammon a little tough, but the pizza and small plates were great. We’ll return if we can!

Parada para almorzar mientras estaba en Hatton Garden. Personal amable. Mesas muy estrechas juntas o tienes que sentarte en sillas altas, lo que es difícil si eres bajo. No hemos subido. La comida llegó rápidamente y se veía bien, pero nuestra focaccia estaba quemado negro en la parte inferior. El chef debería revisar esto ya que ambos tuvimos que dejar la parte inferior de nuestro sándwich. Buen ambiente en el pub.

Attended a work event here. The space we were allocated on the first floor was so loud that somebody's Apple watch was giving a hearing loss warning. Bar staff were pretty rude, even shoving customers aside to get by. The outside balcony is quite nice but honestly I don't want to go back here.

Really nice time here for a late lunch; pies are tops and not to be missed. Service was friendly and the rooftop terrace was quite pleasant.

It's a great pub, the 1st floor terrace was enjoyable with the sunshine and atmosphere. Two beers will set you back 15 quid, mind

My friend and I visited last night on the lovely roof terrace. Pedro in particular was so friendly and welcoming. He was so helpful from the off, it was a busy evening as the sun was blazing and he moved chairs around to make sure we had a spot and then made sure we got the first available table. Pedro and Esther really gave us amazing service that we haven't experienced in a long time - especially in central London! We'll certainly be back soon

Easy to book after work drinks. Great support on where we were located and good service. We only ordered some chips and the terrace upstairs was lovely.

Manager pat was really useful- left both passports and he saved them for me. Great communication and also had a great selection of non alcoholic beer

Worst experience. Food never arrived, we had to catch a flight and after 45 minutes the food was no where near arriving. We asked for takeout boxes and they said the food was ready, after continuing to wait still no food. So we asked for a refund and were met with a very rude response.

A very unaccommodating pub. We were there having a few drinks a brought a cake with us for a celebration. When we asked for forks etc, all we heard is our chef is able to cook food and we don’t allow you to eat food from outside. Well you make nachos and chips, not a celebration cake. Very rude barman upstairs.

Nice pub right next to leather lane market. Perfect place to grab a meal from the marketplace and then head off to the pub for a few pints of beer. The price point is average for central London and the bartenders do try and get you to pay service even though you order at the bar - is very cheeky.

Decent beer selection but not cheap - it's London! Nice traditional setting with a good outside terrace for the evening sun.

pretty good. London is the home of the 'let me show you how much of a f**k I do not give' when it comes to customer service in pubs. It invented the snotty, couldn't care less, bar staff concept. This isn't to be cool, it is that, often, they really, genuinely do not give a ----. So, a relief and a good thing indeed that service here is good. Nice bar folks are at a premium. Wine was fine, some generic bottles of white house, some decent food to share, a reasonable price tag and a lovely evening with work colleagues. yep, that's good enough for me.

The terrace would be lovely on a sunny day! Could do with a few more functioning heaters for colder evenings. It was very busy on the ground/first floor so we eventually moved down to the gin vault on the lower ground floor and there was plenty of seating and the barman was very friendly. The burgers were also delicious. Would definitely go back as it’s located just a 5 min walk from Farringdon so perfect for after work drinks. Great wine selection too!

Came here for lunch with friends it was really nice, food came fast as well as drinks & staff were lovely!! I’d recommend getting the steak sandwich - medium rare, it was TO DIE FOR…prices are also very good too. I can’t wait to return, thank you!! 🤗

Nice place to drink, friendly staff, middle range prices (for London), pretty reliable place to have a pleasant drink and/or food! Can get rammed on some days and times as its very well positioned, but they do their best to manage that as best they can. Worth a go!

A cosy bolt hole for truly great pub food and a gentle relaxed atmosphere. Lots of options for food and drinks both, reasonably priced with warm service. Different offers each day of the week- pizza and burgers both great. Felt comfortable taking the kids in. Lots of seating arrangements. Toilets downstairs and so unsure about accessibility.

Only had a pint, well positioned nice enough city GK pub. Not exactly in my top 100 pubs (tough list )of all time list but perfectly fine for a drink close to Faringdon station

The pub was beautiful, the food was amazing and the service provided by Aoife and Pat was warm and welcoming throughout our visit. Aoife kept my inquisitive 5 year old entertained answering all her questions about London and talking to her about where she’d visited that day which was a massive help as I was frantically trying to feed the baby! She really went above and beyond and we will definitely return.

Has a terrace and a basement. Gets quite busy on a Thursday. Food is so so, standard pub food.

An amazing pub in the middle of Holborn, staff are great especially Aoife and Roxy both were very helpful and liked my magic and also did not mind feeding my miniature donkey and the food was great as well......

Great place with an amazing terrace, perfect for sunny weather. We had drinks and some fish and chips as it was Friday, tasted delicious and fresh. It can get really busy but all the stuff was friendly and attentive even if pub was packed

This place is a little gold mine , booked the argyle for my best friends after funeral service , the assistant manager was totally amazing, and just made everything so much easier, I booked a buffet for 20 people she helped me choose the food , sorry I do not remember the assistant managers name as I had so much going on that day , when we arrived to the argyle they served us drinks and when everyone arrived they bought out our food they even did a separate platter for one of our vegan freinds, the food looked amazing even for a buffet , will definitely be going back for a drink sometime, the staff and food and atmosphere here are amazing I highly recommend even if it's only for a drink but the food is amazing to , thankyou assistant manager for everything you were amazing and sorry I can not remember your name I give the argyle a great big thumbs up 👍

I have to start by saying a big THANK YOU to Aoife. She helped me create memories with my team on my leaving drinks which I will remember for the rest of my life I was looking to organise my leaving drinks party on 4th May 2023. I enquired about 10 places in and around Holborn however none of them I found so professional, flexible and innovative. Aoife and team did not believe in just booking the place, serving drinks and count cash. They advised me on food, packages for drinks, what I should pre-order vs what I should leave for the event day and decide based on gathering. Aoife took care of the smallest of the details like where to place food, where to keep the bags, how the lights could be, what are the options for the music etc. I hired the basement area for the event. Argyle team allowed us to have our own music for the room which made it extra special for the people and they were so happy to show-off their dance moves. The reason I did not select the other 10 places Vs why I selected The Argyle is based on the personal touch Aoife and the team gave starting from the first point of interaction to the end of the event. They went above and beyond for me to be able to have this event in my budget with no compromise to quality. For anyone who wants to have a party in this area I would highly recommend 'The Argyle', I have already been there two more times with a smaller group since the main party. A very big THANK YOU to Aoife and The Argyle. You will see me and my team soon.

A Cask Marque pub in Holborn. First visit for Madge and I. Nice St Austell Tribute. Not the most historic or characterful pub but pleasant stop off. Big room downstairs. A midweek city pub.

I just popped in to feed my baby and the bar staff couldn’t have done enough to make it comfortable for me and the babe. So so lovely. Great place

I always have a great time here, I highly recommend visiting this place. The staff are very welcoming especially Jess who always has a smile on her face and makes sure everyone is well looked after.

Cozy pub! Great ambience, had a great time until we were asked to leave in a very rude way by the manager(I think so). He was so abrupt and was so inconsiderate about hospitality as the clock struck. However, there was another chap who was super nice and apologised for the manager’s behaviour. The two stars only go to him!!!
