Bad experience - the food and evening wasn't that bad, but to pay what we did for the whole family to have (nicely) extended visits to the lavatory in great discomfort including the little ones throwing up was really really far from ideal. Avoid if you don't want the same; goodness knows how or what it's cooked in. Parking is as expected not great but won't need to go back.

First time back since they've reopened, just as good as I remember, they could do with a few mire vegetarian options.

Dined here on Saturday night. It is amazing. You need to book for prime times as it gets very busy. It was buzzy and the atmosphere was fabulous. The staff are friendly and will help you choose food if you are unsure. This place is well known in Watford and loved deeply. The restaurant is attached to an old English pub so you order drinks at the table from the bar staff...who check on you regularly to see if top ups are needed. You get 2 bills...one for drinks and one for the food. This restaurant offers the best authentic Thai food I have ever tasted. The starters and mains are all so flavoursome. My husband and I have become regular visitors and we bring friends whenever possible so that they can experience the food. I did mean to take photos of the food but forgot completely lol No desserts but tbh you won't need any as the portions are generous. This restaurant is one of the best in Watford...try it...you won't be disappointed.

A very nice pub which is usually quite busy as it shows TNT and Sky football, they also occasionally have the rugby on. That said getting served isn't a problem and the bar staff are great, also they have a decent variety on tap. There's a nice Thai restaurant that uses a sizeable section of the pub and is extremely popular as well, the food is very nice, I recommend No 7 from the specials

Food was excellent with healthy portions and taste. Derived from bar was also second to none. Would have liked more rice with the lamb massamam.

This place is like the Tardis, massive eating section out the back. The Thia is amazing. I had the satay chicken followed by the spicy beef, both delicious. Service is good and Guinness and Timmy Taylor spot on. Defo recommended

⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ We had an amazing dining experience at this Thai restaurant! The Prawn Tom Yum Soup was bursting with flavors—spicy, tangy, and absolutely delicious. The Prawn Tempura was perfectly crispy and light, making it a delightful appetizer. For the main course, we enjoyed the Chicken Garlic and Peppers with Rice, which was cooked to perfection with just the right amount of garlic and spice. My friend brought me here, where we enjoy the food here! The prawn toast is especially different from other restaurants, very unique and the red curry with duck tastes nice too.

Mr Ting Restaurant - I ordered a stir-fry 16 with Prawns this evening, restaurant just opened 4:30pm. I came home to find that the prawns were off, they tasted soft and slimy. What a disappointment as I have been coming to the restaurant for over 10 years. When I called the restaurant they just fob me off and said that they’ve been selling prawns all day. Will not be going back. I don’t even want to give it one star!!!

Food is amazing even for vegetarians! I ordered tom yum soup, and it was the best I have ever had across the world. Love the food!

Starters are too large. Flavour is good but the spare ribs weren't the best quality meat. The vegetables were slightly overcooked. Flavour was good and although the arrangement with drinks and food on separate bills was a bit quaint, the help was very friendly.

I have dropped 1 star due to the poor service we received on Thursday early evening. I had booked a table for 4 at 6.30, and I was advised that we needed to vacate by 8.30 which was not a problem We were with 2 of our grand daughters, who had not eaten Thai before. We ordered chicken satay, tempura prawns, spring rolls, prawn toast and prawn crackers to share as starters they were all good portions and were served quickly, and they were hot and very tasty. To follow, 1 grand daughter ordered beef pad thai, the other a chicken noodle dish, my husband and I ordered chicken pad Thai and beef with cashew nuts to share which we told the waiter when we placed the order. 1 grand daughter got a chicken curry which she looked at but because she had never eaten Thai before started to eat. The waiter came over to say it was a curry ment for another table, so that of course went back to the kitchen, mean while my husband had to ask 4 times for 2 plates so that we could share our mains. The mains were big portions very tasty and hot till the last bite we will return as we only live a 5 minute walk away, hopefully the service will be better.

We booked a table (large party) in advance. The place is very busy and popular, so I would recommend doing so. They take drinks orders, that are provided by the pub, in which the restaurant sits. We ordered our drinks, followed by prawn crackers, spring rolls and mixed meat starters. Service was quick and the starters were good. Our mains then followed and everyone was happy with their dishes - really tasty, and authentic tasting Thai food. (The restaurant is run by a Thai family)

So. We were looking for a Sunday roast and we stumbled on this pub that serves Thai food (only). It was raining so we stayed. Overall, very happy that we did. Thanks!!

Anniversary meal 1st July 7pm Chicken satay absolutely tender and perfect in flavour Ribs, huge tender starter Mains red chicken curry, large portion full of lots of extra bits and pieces cooked to perfection Special duck main also full of flavour so much I was given a box to take so home Staff were polite the bill was the best part, very reasonable Will definitely return Thankyou Caroline

My son and I went for a meal on a Saturday evening. You have to book a table because it's very popular. We were informed that we would need to leave the table after one and a half hours, but we only took an hour to get through two courses with drinks. The staff were all very attentive and friendly. The meals were plentiful, piping hot and really nice. They do not offer desserts, but you will be too full anyway! The restaurant is connected to the Nascot Arms. Your bill will be in two parts, restaurant bill for the food, pub bill for the drinks. Get yourself there, you won't be disappointed with the menu choice, something for everyone.

Great Thai food, beware the red chilli in the soup. The flavours are there with the lemongrass and spice levels. I recommend the specials, my only issue was the red duck curry had far too much pineapple and grapes in it. The vegetable tempura is a great starter. Add to this a good selection of casks ales and attentive service… I will come again!

A little bit of a gem. This place is actually two in one. On the one hand we have the Nascot Arms serving the alcohol and the other side we have an authentic Thai restaurant. Luckily for me the pub side will come to your table in the Thai side to take the drinks order to go with the fantastic food. I will say, if the menu says something is hot.. it's not a lie. Staff were polite friendly and reasonably quick with orders and service. The restaurant was clean and light, quite busy for a Monday night but only as a sign of it's popularity, and well deserved too. The atmosphere was OK but no entertainment directed at the restaurant side, however, the pub side did begin a pub quiz. All in all, a really nice place to eat, high quality authentic Thai with a very well selected menu.

Fantastic food, friends recommended this to us and they were right. Lovely quaint and cosy restaurant, food was perfect. We shared a selection of delicious starters and I I had the spicy prawn salad and coconut chicken soup. Faultless. Can't wait to return.

Great food, fast and friendly service

The food here used to be very nice. USED to be. A few years ago, the menu had alot more options, you would get free Thai crackers at the start, they would serve things like Chang Mai noodle curry, sticky rice etc. I would go here every week and celebrate every birthday here, Since covid, the quality went downhill massively. Prices went up, menu restricted. It’s the same stuff you get everywhere else now. You can get nicer, for cheaper elsewhere. It’s such shame, it was a key spot. :(

Nice, OK. Didn't like two separate bills for food and drink. Can't grab a coffee. Would probably visit again but not high enough on the agenda to visit in the short term

Just had a lovely Thai meal here. Solo diner but felt very comfortable. Service fast and food very good. I liked the format of an independent Thai restaurant linked to a pub. Food from the restaurant, drink from the pub. Sadly no Thai beers, and (unless you are Thai!) suggest remove the whole chillies from your soup! Happy to visit again next time I stay in Watford, and happy to recommend.

Great pub with good Thai food on offer. Cosy and never feels too crowded. Friendly staff with a separate restaurant section if you prefer to eat away from the main bar area. They show a range of live sport on several large TVs

Best Thai in Hertfordshire. Quick and efficient service. Big meals and good drinks from the adjoining pub. My favs are the yellow curry, Panang curry and Massaman curry. Curries include rice.

Lovely restaurant in pub, friendly staff, great atmosphere. Good choice of drinks from pub too. Restaurant does not cater to vegetarians and this was not clear from online menu or recent previous reviews (both of which were checked before booking). The overwhelming majority of dishes contain shrimp paste or oyster sauce - these sauces are all ordered pre-prepared so they cannot be made without, even if requested in advance. The menu shows vegetable/vegetable and tofu options so we (wrongly) assumed they can be made vegetarian like all other Thai restaurants we have been to. There were a couple of stir fries and noodle dishes that we could have and one starter (vegetable spring rolls also had fish). Strongly recommend dishes are explicitly stated on the menu with V/Ve sign so can make an informed decision at time of booking. Also don’t serve dessert so we left still hungry and not really satisfied.

Wouldn’t recommend for vegetarians/vegans - the overwhelming majority of items have shrimp paste or oyster sauce in them. Stopped in with some friends for a meal and a drink to celebrate the end of an uneventful football season. We've all been here plenty of times so I've exactly what to expect. The food was delicious, Mr. Tings has a well deserved reputation for quality and quantity, and the service was great. When you're sat in the dining area your drinks orders are taken at the table by a member of the pub staff so there's no faffing about at the bar or ferrying drinks back to your table. The dining area was pretty much packed out so if you're thinking of going on a Saturday evening like we did booking beforehand is highly recommended. Overall a great experience.

We have recently moved, and this lovely friendly pub is a 5 minute walk from us, so we decided to pop in for Sunday lunch, and boy, we were so happy we did. We perused the menu and decided on sharing 3 starters which were ribs, prawns and chicken sate, we were amazed at the portion size and the quality of the food, presented very nicely hot and very tasty Mains were sweet and sour pork, and chicken with cashew nuts that came with rice. Again very generous portions hot and tasty The staff are all very friendly, we will definitely return

This is a pub, joined by a great Thai restaurant, Mr Ting, next door. Great atmosphere on game days. The only caveat is that if you want any food, they only have the Thai offering, no toasties or other hot snacks. But they have a good selection of crisps and peanuts.

I travel all over the world.I have visited Thailand many times and I am familiar with Thai cuisine. We have visited and enjoyed food at Mr Tings (Nascot Arms) pre covid. They reopened recently. We ordered Take away food for well over £100.00c and were looking forward to enjoying the food. A total disappointment. I ordered the following: Menu No 10. X 2 Supposed to be Tom Yum soup. This was just two prawns, a small tomato, a mushroom cut into four. Just plain water and salt. They have no idea what Tom Yum soup is. I score -99 out of 100. The whole lot ended up in the bin. Menu No 15. X1. What a disappointment. The whole serving ended up in the bin. Score 10 out of 100. No idea how to do this dish. Menu SP8. X 1. What a joke. Two Mussles, two prawns, 4 uncooked, stale, raw Thai aubergiens, two peices of squid (OK) and coconut milk. Do they have any idea about Thai cuisine. Score 10 out of 100. Menu 39. X 4. My ten year old grand child can cook better than this. Awful. All of it ended up in the bin. Noodles, prawns, chicken and just curry powder. Worst Singapore Noodles I have ever seen. I do not honestly believe they have a Thai chef let alone a chef. The food had been prepared by someone who has no idea about food and certainly no clue about Thai food. Will avoid this place like a plague. What a disappointment

Nice little local with Thai kitchen attached, worth a visit if local. Pub is quite traditional, small but spoilt by two large screens and oversized slot machine. Restaurant was busy so ordered and ate in the pub, OK but slowed the service down. Food is more authentic than some places, but over portioned and more rustic compared to the better Thais (none local). Would prefer better ingredients and smaller portion size, that’s not to say it wasn’t enjoyable. Worthy of a visit, if not a long journey to visit.

Mr.Ting's is one of the best meals I've ever had. If you like authentic Thai food, I cannot recommend this highly enough. If you can handle the heat, I HIGHLY recommend the Ga-pao Kai daow. There are some great non-spicy options too, especially the prawn crackers and fried chicken but it's nice to have the option of some authentic spicy Thai food! The duck is too sweet for me, but my friends really love it also. The service is lightning fast and the pub has a nice pub-y atmosphere to it.

Mr Tings is such a great place! It's been going for years & always the same consistent high-quality of food. They're menu is substantially reduced after lockdown. But all the amazing classics like Thai green curry's, Massamum, Red Curry, Pad Thai etc are still there & cooked to perfection every time! Really amazing quality, quantity & reasonable prices! They can be quite quick to swipe your plates away which is the only think that brings this place down. Please let everyone finish eating before you do this 🙏🙏, it does ruin the atmosphere when it feels like your being rushed or your food gets taken when you pause for a chat. Definitely don't go to the toilet mid meal, your food will be gone! 😉

There aren't many 'real' pubs in the centre of Watford anymore, but the Nascot is a great little pub that's worth spending time in whether you're there for the excellent Thai food in the restaurant, or you're there just for a beer. The pub area is small so can get crowded, but it's always easy to get served as the staff are good. It's definitely got a cozy vibe. I'm not sure if the pub is dog friendly - I've been told in the past that I can't bring my dog in, but then other times there are people in the pub with dogs. 🤷‍♂️ The food in the restaurant area at the back is excellent. However, you'll need to book as the restaurant is very busy. You can order food to tables in the pub area though.

Pretty good visit to Mr Ting Thai restaurant which is within the pub itself. Good food fairly priced but the service was excellent. Difficult to park so walk in or get a lift.

Had a great xmas team lunch here on Friday and, as always, it was a great experience. Food is consistently good and very reasonably priced, about £17 pp for 5 entrées and 10 mains Great atmosphere and friendly staff in the bar and restaurant.

The Nascot has an excellent range of bitters that changes every week served by friendly and attentive bar staff. Whatever football happens to be on that night is shown on the several screens but somehow it doesn't overpower if you aren't into football. Mr Tings, the Thai restaurant part of the pub is similarly good. Whatever you order there will be to a high standard and you won't walk away hungry. An added bonus is that beers can be ordered and delivered to the table while you eat.

Nascot arms is always a dream! Football amazing atmosphere and then the best Thai restaurant for miles Mr Ting! Will never stop loving this place. The barman that served me tonight was so helpful and knowledgeable on his wines too. Highly highly recommend.

Management was very helpful and polite, Thai food was available which was very tasty and good value money, as the portion size was good, beer on tap also a range of bottled drinks, will be back again.....

A really lovely little boozer. Just off the beaten track so not too busy with football traffic, but in a nice enough are to get busy with a wide selection of sports on offer.

Delicious food, service a little slow and ambivalent but is a fast paced environment so cant complain.

I was really looking forward to this after the reviews but ended up very disappointed. I thought the food was very bland & overpriced. The Singapore noodles were tasteless, greasy & the worst I have ever had. Rice was served with the main dishes which was a nice touch.

Great Thai, would recommend, especially the Jungle Curry. Nice and spicy and full of flavour. Knocked one star as pork was a little dry (only a little so 4.5 stars really). Can’t wait to go back.

Excellent food and service with a smile as always. Best Thai food around the area. Warning - the Kua Hang Ta-Lay is extremely spicy! I was told this when ordering but still wanted to try. The mixed seafood in the dish was a lovely selection of seafood.

I usually visit often but I’m appalled by the food this time. I called and ordered 2 Thai green curries which I wanted to be spicy. I came to pick up the food and the man repeated my order and said mild. He went to the kitchen and came back 2 minutes later with my food which had apparently changed to SPICY. I came home and it literally tasted like water. I called and complained and had to go back in the freezing weather with my food to get it changed. This is when the interrogation starts! She greets me by showing me my new food and says if I complain again, they will not change it as that’s how they make it. She inspected my food and asked me why some of It was eaten ( atleast 3/4 of the food was packed up and sent back to them) honestly do you think I want to go back in the freezing cold to change it when I live more than 20 minutes away???? I’d rather not and just eat my food tbh. Bad service, bad food and rude staff that have no people skills and need lessons on customer service. Such a shame because this really used to be a gem in Watford

I visited the Nascot Arms this evening with my family. We had a superb meal with excellent service from the restaurant and the bar staff. It felt very safe with all staff wearing masks and covid precautions. The food was amazing as usual. It's great to be able to visit our favourite pub again.Thank youLucy and family

Absolutely amazing food, every single time , it is simply the best Thai food in the South East!

Grabbed a take away for 5 of us on 14th Nov 2020. 10 out of 10 as always. Super food and lots of it for just over a tenner a head. Two further meals with left overs so really £ 7.50 a head on that basis. Been to several high quality Thai restaurants around the country this takes some beating and it’s a pub!

I have been to the restaurant several times and have never been let down! Really fresh Thai food at affordable prices. The customer service is really good too, I cant rate it enough.
