Fuimos como una puesta al día durante las vacaciones de Navidad y honestamente no puedo calificar este lugar lo suficiente, la comida era preciosa, el personal todo amable y tan acogedor. El tamaño de las porciones era fabuloso y afortunadamente capaz de tener suficiente espacio para el postre. Gran relación calidad-precio y volveremos pronto

Absolutamente comida de primera clase, servicio de primera clase, buenos precios. Tuvimos un almuerzo de Navidad, era hermoso con un montón de ella. El personal no puede hacer lo suficiente por los clientes, estaba decorado precioso y limpio impecablemente

El personal es siempre amable, educado y acogedor. La comida nunca defrauda al calentador que toma un especial o pedido del menú regular, el especial de ajo de pasta sigue siendo uno de los favoritos! , y el entrante de pastillas de gamba es increíble!

Been for the 3-Course Christmas dinner at The Barrel today and thoroughly enjoyed it from start to finish. All five of us loved the starters, main and dessert. The atmosphere was relaxed and the staff were very friendly and accommodating 5* from us!

Mi marido y yo junto con otros tres amigos visitamos y comimos aquí en 23 / 11 / 2024. Mi marido es celíaco y tiene que tener mucho cuidado con lo que come o es MUY pobre. El menú fue marcado en consecuencia y el personal MUY bien informado sobre lo que podía y no podía tener. Mi marido y yo teníamos un ‘plato de la tienda de patatas fritas’ compartido que era una porción MASIVA. Éste contenía salchichas rebozadas y no rebozadas, trozos de pescado rebozados, papas fritas MASIVAS, guisantes y frijoles horneados (él no podía tener el curry, así que lo sustituyeron por frijoles horneados) junto con un rollo de pan GF. Esto estaba delicioso y cocinado maravillosamente. El resto de nuestra fiesta tenía un plato combinado, que también era una porción masiva, y una porción separada de picaduras de brie. Todo caliente y muy buen sabor. Para la red eléctrica mi marido tenía la hamburguesa de doble barril (GF), yo y un amigo tenía el filete y Guinness Pie cada uno y nuestros otros dos amigos tenían un chisporroteo de filete de grupa y un chisporroteo de pollo cajún. Una vez más, las porciones eran masivas y los pasteles eran absolutamente deliciosos (imagen para referencia deliciosa! ). Perdón por la falta de otras fotos pero estábamos tan ocupados comiendo! La comida y las bebidas alcohólicas estaban muy bien precio y el personal era amable y muy bien informado sobre su comida y su contenido. Mi esposo inicialmente iba a tener las papas fritas cargadas con barbacoa tirada de cerdo, pero se explicó que debido a la naturaleza siempre cambiante de los proveedores, la salsa barbacoa era un may contener para la cebada / gluten y por lo tanto no se podía garantizar que fuera GF. Como mi marido es MUY pobre si ‘tiene gluten’, este conocimiento por parte del personal y consultar con el Chef fue muy apreciado y puso su mente en reposo. Este pub obviamente entiende la condición de celíaco y que no es una opción de estilo de vida. Tenía la esperanza de llegar a la tarta de queso Baileys de postre, y a pesar de que pasamos la noche en el pub, todavía estaba lleno de nuestra comida para pedir esto. Una joya rara de un pub y vamos a DEFINITLEY volver. Si eres celíaco, debes visitarlo ya que tiene una muy buena elección de “comida apropiada”.

Lovely place, great atmosphere and ambience. Food was lovely and the staff were friendly and accommodating. Definitely one of the best in the area, if not the best for value.

Very welcoming and clean pub, food was fresh, piping hot and delicious, had to change the time of my booking and they were so accommodating nothing was to much trouble even when it came to my none veg eating sister, they offer extra potatoes, couldn't recommend enough, trust me you definaly wot be disappointed, amazing.

Had food here recently and it was excellent quality with brilliant service. I can’t fault the value especially if you land on the two for one night. I even went back the next night and watched the football on Sky (loads of TV screens around the pub). Good selection of beers and lagers too. Definitely heading back soon.

Not just an average pub; a warm welcome, nice atmosphere, very clean and tidy, and excellent service. Above all, this is a great place to eat as the food is absolutely top notch. The price to eat out these days can seem a bit high compared to a couple of years ago, but trust me it's worth it here. Great portions and perfectly cooked. Whoever the chef is, hang onto them! Family friendly with a great outdoor area. There are often 2 for 1 or set price meal deals and specials on - ask at the bar. Only thing I didn't see was any cycle parking.

Absolute lovely food, staff can't do enough for you, good friendly atmosphere, clean and welcoming, we ho there alot, and people told us about different places bring nice, I can honestly say that the other places are not a patch on this place, food is brilliant and staff so nice, will always go back

Always a lovely place to go for food, both indoors and out. Great for both locals and people just passing through. Food is proper Yorkshire grub and not too expensive.

Been tonight as just moved into high green Me and my son had the best steaks ever added coleslaw and onion rings and they were so big The portion are so big we couldn’t eat it all which looked bad but had to reassure the staff there was nothing wrong with the food We were the only people in eating had a couple of drinking but as new to area I don’t know how busy it can get We will be back soon

Booked a table for six and had the Sunday Carvery which was absolutely fab. Food was delicious and cooked just right. Pub not too busy, the atmosphere was relaxed and we enjoyed a lovely afternoon with friends and family. Very satisfied party of six!

We were over for a family get together and we were made very welcome, and the food was ace. Highly recommend the Gammon and the home cooked chips were perfect 👌

It was ok. No Vodka when we visited. Disappointing. Good prices and sure the nice garden and play area are well used in the better weather.

We only went in for one drink after a long walk, so hard to judge anything else.

Had a family meal here for my 60th birthday, could not fault a single thing. I would highly recommend The Barrel for any function.

Me and my partner chose here for lunch with it being en route to family. Pub had a lovely atmosphere. Shabby carpets but nice otherwise. I had a yorkshire pudding wrap. Beautiful apart from 1 piece of meat and 2 slices of carrot. No idea where the rest of it was. Overpriced chip butty. My partner paid for bacon and cheese on his burger. The burger was so dry. Awful. Slightest bit of cheese and salty bacon. Wouldn't visit again unless chef had more training

We celebrated my sister’s birthday here and had a great time, the staff were so helpful and would definitely recommend to anyone!

We booked for our family to celebrate my daughter’s birthday. There were 30 of us including family and friends. The buffet was delicious, The big chunky chips were amazing. We even had a lactose and gluten free diet for 2 people and they said the food was lovely too. The staff were really accommodating and let us put pictures and banners up. Everyone was very friendly and relaxed. Even though the pub was busy with Christmas nights out we always felt looked after. They let us play our own play list too. This is well worth the money and I definitely would book again. Thank you.

Great pub! The food was really good and when I forgot to mention something about my order they resolved it for me straight away. Staff couldn't be more helpful and friendly. Lots of entertainment for children, nice atmosphere and looks like it's been recently renovated so everything was clean and smart. Would definitely recommend and go back to!

What a lovely afternoon sat in the beer garden in the sunshine. Kids enjoyed playing on the bouncy castle and the outdoor play area. We ordered food, there was four adults and four children. We all had a main course and five had sweets and three had a cup of tea. Total cost was just under £100.00. The food was lovely, tasty and good portion size. Excellent service, fast, efficient and friendly. Car parking is plentiful and just outside main entrance. Toilets are clean and accessible. We will visit again.

Excellent meat and potatoes pie!

We have been to the barrel at 3.00 for dinner & was very upset that a table full near us was swearing effing & sheffing all the time when they had kids with them not our type of dinner time eating will not be returning the staff never told them about the bad language at all.

Yer, didn't have any food so can't say, it looked alright, yer it's a pub, they sell Pubby things 😉

Popped up to visit some family who suggested we go here for some lunch. We had a mixture of meals between the four of us, with my wife sharing hers with our little one. I had the pepperoni pizza and asked for it to have bbq sauce as a base. When the pizza came out, you could tell it was fresh made and it tasted so good. Staff were quick to serve n very helpful and accommodating when it came to the little boy too. The Barrel is a dog and family friendly place and as someone that’s not local, I’d happily visit again when I’m next in the area

We went for lunch, not knowing the area but all really hungry. The food was absolutely lovely, in particular the pizza with the dough made on site - huge portions of everything and all hot and fresh. Welcoming, family friendly, and great value for money. So much so we went back later the same day for a drink too!

Waited an hour for food. Arrived chips overcooked steak was cold as were the tomatoes and mushroom ....all in all not nice.......shame as last time it was lovely
