The Biddick in Sunderland

Great food, not small portions! Great service, reasonable prices. Friendly attentive staff. Only issue is that some of the tables for two are too close together, we had to ask to be relocated to a bigger table elsewhere in the bistro. Otherwise it would have been 5 stars.

Had a wonderful Christmas lunch, the food was amazing, service great - and we were frequently asked if everything was OK and did we need anything else - such a warm welcome from Alphonso and crew - can't recommend highly enough!

Absolutely lovely evening out, the food was excellent, an extensive menu that will need to be revisited often. The staff were all lovely, very attentive and nothing was too much trouble. They kept us informed while we were waiting for our table. All in all, a restaurant I’m looking forward to visiting again in the future.

Third time here and can't find any faults. We had the Sunday lunch. The food was served quickly, it was delicious and there was plenty of it. The staff were polite and friendly, and the restaurant was bright and welcoming. Don't think I'd go anywhere else xxx

First visit here, the restaurant itself is lovely - really cosy and tastefully decorated. The food was great, portions generous and all the staff were incredibly friendly but never overbearing. Will be recommending to friends and family. Looking forward to our next visit.

First meal here, will definitely return, garlic bread to start,I had pollo creme with veg, was very tasty, hubby had sizzling plate, he said it was nice. Slight wait for more drinks but staff were very attentive.

Thursday night date night. 2 x Steak and 2 x dessert and a bottle of wine. Food was outstanding and the service 1st class. Will definitely be back .

Consistently great food, service and value for money.

Just eaten here for the first time, stumbled across the place as our son was playing golf locally. The food was outstanding and the service 5 star. 3 courses each with a glass of vino and coffee ⭐️ My hubby even got to practice a little of his Italian with the owner. Worth the drive from Hartlepool x highly recommend 🇮🇹 Italian food done right 👏🏼

Spent my full meal listening to staff blab about their problems at home, they refused my simple request and were just generally ignorant, think I’ll stick to the Italians down the road

We had a very nice meal, there is a great choice of food, plenty Italian and English dishes. The service was good too, very attentive. We will definitely be back

Very satisfied with service and food.

Food was delicious, staff were excellent. Only gripe was getting asked if we wanted water for the table and getting charged £3.50 for a 500 mil bottle when we were expecting tap water.

The staff are so welcoming, it was very busy tonight but that didn’t spoil our evening, we went for steak night absolutely fantastic, would highly recommend

Visited the Biddick Inn for a family gathering and we were not disappointed. The food and service were amazing as always, especially as we were a very large group. We were very well looked after with the staff checking in on a regular basis to make sure everything was as it should be. If you’re looking for amazing service and top notch service, this is the place to go.

Excellent food and service. We had the steak night special which was fantastic value as well as top quality. There were four if us ( two couples) and we all had our steaks cooked differently and they were all exactly how we wanted them. The included bottles of house wine were very nice, as were the desserts. The serving staff were very helpful and welcoming. We will certainly be back.

We were in the area for the weekend and managed to book a table online after reading great reviews. We were not disappointed - well presented, perfectly cooked food and friendly attentive service. The lounge had a lovely atmosphere for an evening, and we’ll definitely be back if we’re nearby again.

Fabulous place, Sunday lunch was beautiful

The food was very good especially for Sunday lunch. Being seniors they have a half portion option which is great as this allows a starter or sweet without waste of food. We will be visiting again .

Lovely place to have a meal. Nice atmosphere and professional staff. 4 of us went for steak night. Great price. Only £35 for two people! Steak and wine was excellent. Apple pie desert was really good. No rush to get you out either.10 out of 10.

The restaurant is not what you expect from the outside with really modern decoration. Service was really quick and all the staff were friendly and polite. Food was delicious! We all had roast dinners, 1 normal, 2 small adults and 1 kids meal. Such good value for money with generous portions. Will definitely be back again.

Sunday Lunch, really nice, such friendly staff

Came here for Sunday lunch. Ordered one pork dinner and one chicken dinner. Both were supposed to come with stuffing and arrived without - I told the waiter and was informed that they had ran out of it. We also realised that there was no crackling that was supposed to come with the pork dinner, which was also frustrating. We were offered a free round of drinks to make up for whole thing which was appreciated. However after we received the drinks the staff were nowhere to be seen. No one came back to clear the plates away or even ask whether we would like dessert, which just added to the frustration. After a little while we just got up to pay and then left. The place is nice and the rest of what we ate was nice - I think this was probably just a one off experience which wasn't great, so unsure whether we'd be back.

This was our 3rd time at the restaurant and service was great, as usual. Food was delicious, we had garlic mushrooms and salt and pepper squid for starters, which were both perfectly cooked. Our mains were also delicious. I highly recommend it and will definitely be back. Thanks for the great meal and service!

Had dinner with friends last night 14th Sept at Biddick Italian Bistro. We had loved previous menu so were a little unsure what to expect. We need not have worried as we all had a lovely meal served by very pleasant and efficient staff. We will return.

Whilst there was a slight delay with my table the staff were fantastic in keeping me happy and once seated the Food was fantastic. The owner and staff were all so polite and ensured everything was catered for 👏

I brought my sister and best friend to the Biddick today and our experience was exceptional. The roast dinner was hands down the best I’ve ever had; the mash was so creamy and delicious, and the lamb was melt in the mouth. We could tell that so much effort and care was put into the preparation of the food, as it is truly food for the soul. The customer service was impeccable. I couldn’t recommend the Biddick Italian Bistro highly enough, it’s a must visit location. Thank you for the incredible experience, we left with happy tummies and big smiles on our faces ❤️

The food was absolutely delicious.The staff were really friendly and helpful. We booked for 6.30pm and happy hour had just finished but they allowed us to still get the happy hour deal. My son couldn't finish all of his food so they very kindly put it in a take away carton for him. The restaurant was clean and had a great atmosphere. I can't fault anything as me and my son had such a lovely time. We would definitely recommend visiting. Thank you to all the staff. Rating *****plus
