A great family pub with sweets for kids, coal fire, dart board and thankfully NO jukebox. Lovely landlady who clearly takes pride in her establishment. The draught beer I drank, Theakstons Bitter, was excellent,

Lovely little village pub, great Sunday lunches and wonderful steamed puddings with custard ... and I can personally recommend Jill's ham salad, which is so much more than your average salad! With a monthly Quiz night and monthly Bingo night ... what's not to like 😊

The pub is only small but very friendly, the landlady always pleasant and accommadating even when stressed. On Sundays she presents very straighforward simple home cooked lunches and sweets. The choices are limited but perfectly adequate given the size of the premises and kitchen. We have eaten here now for over five years on a very frequent basis and the quality has been consistently good. It can be busy on occasions and for larger groups would be advised to book in advance

I came here with a family group of 6, we came for a late lunch at 2pm and stayed until 6pm! The majority of us had the Sunday roast of pork loin which was pretty much a traditional roast with a few little twists, such as the carrot purée which was delicious. It came with plentiful vegetables, huge Yorkshire pudding and the most amazing red wine gravy-they gave us large jug of extra gravy! My niece ordered a variety of tapas style dishes which she thoroughly enjoyed. We also had the salted caramel tart with clotted cream ice cream. Plenty of wine was ordered and some mocktails which were delicious. Plenty of choice for vegetarians, vegans and those with dietary requirements. The staff were very friendly, service impeccable and we were not rushed or made to feel we were outstaying our welcome which was great as we had come from London to visit family. I would highly recommend this restaurant and am looking forward to my next visit to try some of their tapas. I thought the prices were very good for the quality of the food.

Under new management in past month: now it's Keith & his Thai wife, whose name wasn't given. Good coffee and both friendly & welcoming. Have not been here before so cannot provide 'then & now' comparison, but think it's certainly worth a visit.
