We have been to this café several times now and have never been disappointed. It's location on a sunny day cannot be beaten, right on the promenade, steps away from the beach. The various coffee and tea they serve is first class. The tea is loose leaf and comes in individual pots. They also serve cakes and ice cream but we have never tried anything else they have on offer. The service is always good and the staff are friendly. The tables and chairs are set up outside the café kiosk which is a clean and tidy area. They are dog friendly and provide water bowls. We will continue to visit this café when we are in Lyme and would recommend it to anyone.

And a great cup of tea, with leaves not bags. More a place for a drink or an ice-cream than for food.

Delightful little cafe right on the edge of the beach. We visited a couple of times and were very pleased both times. Nice coffee and an excellent choice of cakes as well. Also very nice ice cream all served by pleasant staff.

We walked past the Blue Sea Cafe one evening while some live music was being performed and noticed the pizzas that were on offer and decided to return. So after a successful crabbing session off the harbour wall we wondered in and ordered 4 pizzas. They are 12in and stone baked. The menus is compact but has all of the favourites. We had a margarita, meat feast, Hawaiian and a vegetarian. All were delicious and great value. They don't have an alcohol license but are happy for you to bring your own. All in all a great little find with a wonderful view of the beach.

Music wafted in the air, Pizzas looked and smelt delicious, coffee bril, cream teas amazing, crab salads divine, cakes ooh so scrummy. Sat and listened to an early eve of bril live music here in this wonderful cafe by the sea. I had a fab time sitting on the sea front here in sunny Lyme Regis at an amazing little cafe right on the beach with great views, fab food day and early eve music playing for one and all. (eves thru the summer only open)Lazy evening with great vibe ready for the carnival procession later in the evening, then samba on the front followed by Reggae in the Standard to wind up the night and including a jolly time in the Marine theatre by the sea dancing the night away to a Beach Boys Tribute band . What a fab location for so much happening. All within a few minutes stroll from this lovely cafe where you are always greeted with a smiley happy face and exceedingly good cakes, yummy ice creams and more. Thanks for a fab nite one and all xxxxx

Great, but simple, cream tea by the sea, on tables outside, on the lower promenade. Scones were pretty good. On a warm day, much better than any inside location. Had to queue for having order taken, but it arrived reasonably soon, considering they were busy and perhaps under-staffed a little. Dog-friendly, obviously. No real inside capacity.

Wanting a light lunch with some friends who had come down for the day we stopped at this cafe which is in a great setting nearly on the beach. We duly ordered 2 salads and 2 pasties (advertised as genuine Cornish- dubious according to my Cornish friend). The crab salad was poor with what I can only describe as a brown mush which still had shell mixed in. The chicken looked the same and both salads had over powering onions and was generally of a poor quality....how hard is it to make a decent salad? I had to ask for some bread and somewhat reluctantly was brought a couple of slices of brown loaf bread. The pasties arrived and one was 25% burnt black, we said we didn't want it, they had none left apparently so we ordered a further crab salad.....they quickly came back and wanted a further £4 which we paid. When it arrived there was at least one hair that could be seen and it was returned. I don't like complaining, it could have been a one off but the most annoying thing to me as a local, is that there was no apology offered and we had a feeling that we were being an inconvenience to the staff and just there as a tourists to be taken advantage of. On the positive side the teas and coffee were lovely and well presented.........shame about the food.

A great little spot to sit and enjoy the view. Hot drinks on tap and the basics are served well. Staff were friendly and go to know us as we enjoyed many a stop off to and from the beach here!

Great place to stop for a coffee or a bite to eat. We stopped for coffee. My partners cappuccino looked delicious and my double espresso arrived and, to my eyes, looked perfect. However, not to the servers eyes. She apologised and took the cup away for it to be replaced by another. She pointed out that the original did not have enough ‘froth’ on the surface. Professional service to the extreme. Lovely views across the bay and a relaxing 30 minutes.

I really love supporting local pubs when I can, we popped in on a Friday evening when Tortilla Cantina organised a pop up restaurant, unfortunately being just after New years it was a little quiet, but the pub was lovely, the beer was reasonably priced. I highly recommend a pint of Tom Browns. My only criticism would be it was a freezing evening and the fire wasn’t lit and the back door was open, so it was a little draughty. Apart from that it was lovely.

We came with friends as we had all been gifted afternoon tea, and chose to visit this tearoom. We booked just over a week in advance. What a great choice! A great selection of beautifully fresh finger sandwiches, scones, cream and jam. and a selection of small cakes, which were so light. Absolutely scrumptious. We weren't rushed, so we could sit and enjoy our food. The folk working in the tearoom were very welcoming and we had a delightful afternoon. Thank you!

We have been coming to Dorset on holiday for years and have visited Mangerton Mill in the past, so decided to pop in last week for a well awaited scone and cream. I believe it’s now under new owners/management who were all very pleasant and accommodating and welcomed our dogs, but unfortunately my first scone arrived with hair and fluff in it, which the staff were more than happy to change, but then I could hear the microwave going, then dinging in the background and my second scone was served up. Admittedly, it was warm to touch, but once I cut it open, it was hard and frozen inside. I would have thought the scones would be cooked on site or delivered in fresh, but unfortunately they weren’t. Thankfully, I was not charged for the scone on leaving but, have to say, it was not up the standards we have had in the past.
