Excellent Burns supper by Andy the friendly Scottish chef who came out to greet us. All 10 of us very much enjoyed the food we ordered including Cullen skink, haggis pakora, balmoral chicken, haggis main course and Cranachan. Every single course was delicious! Well done Andy!

It has been a while since we visited The Halt, so we were looking forward to a visit. We were not disappointed. Service was good, from our waitress Erin who was most attentive. A little wait for the main course, but the food was very good. I had the sea bass and my wife choose from the specials, Lasagne which was excellent. Daughter in law Belly Pork.which she said was the best, my brother in law had the fish and chips. All first class. Thank you

We celebrated our daughters 18th birthday at the Brampton Halt in the Marquee this weekend.  It was fabulous!  Sadie was our point of contact from our initial enquiry to the running of the event on the night.  She was so helpful and gave us plenty of ideas around decorations and set up etc...nothing was too much trouble.  She put us at ease with all of it, and we all had such a great night - young and older alike!  The staff who worked alongside Sadie on the night were polite and friendly and did a cracking job.  I would recommend wholeheartedly for an event such as a birthday, special lunch, etc....and can't think of a single thing I would change about our event. We didn't eat hence score!

The Brampton Halt is a hidden gem when it comes to wedding venues. Every wedding I’ve photographed there has been filled with so much joy. The team there really know how to take care of every little detail, making the day completely stress-free and enjoyable for everyone. We had Sunday roast here last week, 4 of us and our small puppy. Given a booth with views, the place is absolutely gorgeous inside and out. The food was amazing, massive portions, and so tasty, and the service was superb!!!! will definately be coming back :-)

Lunch Tuesday... I had garlic cheese bread and red onion and goats cheese tart (small but delicious!) My friend had a lovely burger. The food was beautifully presented and the restaurant atmosphere is very relaxing.. it is great in the summer too for al fresco dining as it is in a lovely countryside setting.

Booked for same day Sunday 12th, email saying pending - no email of confirmation so I called the restaurant to find I have no table … absolutely atrocious booking system, customers need and want a simple yes or no when using online booking systems - McManus take a look at your terrible system please

We tried to book for Sunday dinner and although the booking was pending we decided to call as they had not contacted us to confirm. We were then told there was no availability. Why didn't they have the decency to contact us and let us know as we could have driven for 40 minutes to be told there was no table available. Very poor service . You need to up your game as we won't be eating here again. Would have got a zero but a one is the lowest you can go.

Such a good pub with decent food and great staff, could not wish for more other than it was within walking distance. The staff are absolutly lovely.

Lovely pub and service, gluten free options but could provide better options for gluten free. I ordered the gluten free chicken roast was really nice. However normally comes with Stuffing and Yorkshire, they don't provide gf Yorkshire which is fine but menu stated gluten free alternative for Stuffing and i never received any.

Brampton Holt did us proud last night for a surprise 80th birthday party last night for my husband the food was excellent and service was amazing. Would recommend to anybody. Thank you to all the staff for a special evening.

really lovely evening. Good quality of food and well looked after. The only reason for 4/5 stars is that the deserts weren’t worth the money and tasted like they had been put in the microwave. other than that. fantastic food, drink and service!

We were here Christmas Day for dinner and again on the 29 th celebrating my daughter’s 21st . On both occasions the food and service was excellent. The staff are so attentive. We will be definitely returning.

Enjoyed a lovely Sunday lunch with friends at the Brampton Halt yesterday. My husband ordered the fish and chips which were good although the batter was a little too undercooked for him. One of our friends had the roast chicken while the other had the roast beef, which came pink. This was good for my friend but if you prefer it more well done I’m sure they would be happy to accommodate. I had the roast lamb. All the meats were succulent and tender. I always find roast potatoes, not crispy enough but the other vegetables; red cabbage, parsnips, carrots, brussel sprouts were all cooked beautifully. It was served with a large Yorkshire pudding. We asked for various sauces and extra gravy, which took a little while to come, but they were busy and apart from that, the service was good. We ordered two desserts between us. One was treacle tart and the other was ice cream with a coffee sauce I think. Both good. One of our friends is in a wheelchair. He found accessibility to the restaurant and the toilet facilities very good. Everything was in reach. The only thing he did comment on, was the fact that usually when he goes to a restaurant, and today was no exception, is that it’s difficult for him to get his chair close enough to the table because the tables invariably have centre legs. This stops him drawing his wheelchair in close enough to the table, so maybe something for Restauranteurs to consider when adapting their premises for wheelchair users. Overall, our visit was very good and very enjoyable. Would recommend.

Left cold and hungry after a 45min wait outside for food - simple burger and fries order. No outside heating at the tables.

Wife and me had Christmas dinner , amazing food , fabulous service and great atmosphere , will be back next year 💯 , thanks to everyone 🎯

We came here for a Boxing Day meal and we were served by Erin who was vey helpful and dealt with everything accordingly even when had a slight problem she was great.

28th year of getting together here at Christmas with family. It gets better every passing year. The food this time was absolutely delicious, and it was the best service yet by far. Our server Erin was super friendly, charming, funny and efficient! Will be back soon!

Went to Brampton hault yesterday for a Christmas meal with friends service was terrible. we were walking around looking for staff.ordered Dessert at 1 45 still waiting at 2 30 so we told them to forget. about the Dessert so we walked out. and it used to be one of my favourite pubs not now.and we sat down at 12 30

A great venue to host a get together before Christmas, the pub is beautifully decorated. Really enjoyable food and drinks from the Christmas menu - usually these are a bit hit and miss but this was spot on. Thank you to the team who looked after us so well on Saturday night.

Food was below average taste wise, presentation was nice. The service wasn’t what I was expecting, the young lads that work there were polite and professional but the ladies at the bar were rude, looked like they cannot be bothered to work there that sadly was mood blower and cocktails were not done properly when served by slightly curvy lady. On the positive note the interior was nice. It was my first visit to see and try something new out side town and probably the last.

We came for breakfast with Santa, it was the best experience we have ever had. Santa was absolutely amazing spending quality time with my granddaughter and telling her about all his reindeer’s. Staff couldn’t do enough for us and my granddaughter hasn’t stopped talking about Santa x The food was excellent quality and value for money. Will definitely be back next year

We dined at Brampton Halt with our family for my wife and her sisters birthday. Our Server was Georgie, who was very attentive and courteous when taking our order, and the food delivery. It is very pleasing when you get staff who are interested in serving you with such service. It is also a credit to the restaurant, as you feel a return visit is always tops when dining out. The food was delivered within a reasonable time and piping hot. The menu had a good selection, and we appreciated the Presecco to celebrate the twins bithday. Thank you Brampton Halt.

This Christmas meal was organised for 21 tennis members, all enjoyed the food from the festive menu, although some comments relating to the square ? Christmas pud dessert, but overall all cooked well, served promptly and hot, and good waitress service from Georgie. Ambience excellent. Dietary preferences adhered to, and all organising went smoothly from initial booking.

Great place to meet for a good lunch.

Went with family to celebrate my daughters graduation. We had booked online and were quickly shown to our table.The service and food was excellent and it's always nice when someone comes over and asks if everything was alright. My only criticism would be where we were it was a bit dark .For a special occasion this place is lovely and even though very busy we didn't have to wait long.

New menu is great! I need to come back soon as there's so many things I need to try. Pork belly was delicious 😋

My wife and I had a celebratory dinner on a Saturday evening. We’ve eaten here many times over the years and we thought the current menu is the most imaginative that we could recall. I started with Black Pudding Scotch Egg, which was perfectly cooked with the yolk still soft. My main was Cullen Skink - it was slightly unconventional in that the haddock was served whole rather than flaked into, and partly cooked with, the ‘soup’ but the flavour was spot-on and the fish cooked exactly to my liking. Treacle tart with custard completed an excellent meal. It was a little sweeter than I would have liked; imo more lemon was needed to cut the sweetness, but that’s a minor criticism. Highly recommended!

Had a great night having dinner followed by watching the firework display and listening to the amazing Fat Cat Brass Band. The staff were great and I appreciated Leanne’s help in making sure we managed to get tickets for the event.

Sunday Pork Roast was terrible, tasted ok ish, no crackling as advertised, pork slightly overcooked, roast potatoes tasted hard, green in colour and seemed to have been microwaved. Yorkshire pudding came flat and tasted soggy... I'm not sure what happened to the food today. I checked reviews, and only one from last week said something similar. Looking around restaurant, and others seem to have left food of similar on their plates (just saying).. Staff are lovely, though.

We love Brampton Halt it's been a favourite of ours for many years but it's been awhile since we've visited until this week. Still a firm favourite the food was delicious, surroundings lovely and great service and welcoming atmosphere. Thank you 😊

We had a fantastic time celebrating my Father’s birthday here. The decor looks modern and everything was spotlessly clean. The staff were delightful, welcoming and very friendly. The Sunday Dinner was stunning, with a good amount of well-cooked food. The burgers were also fantastic with the ‘BH’ press on them. The prices were very reasonable for both food and drink. Very impressed and would absolutely return.

I booked the Brampton for a family gender reveal party and was worried about the size of the party as there was 23 of us. All of the food was correct, the service was efficient and everything went perfectly. Our waitress was attentive and made sure there was no stress with the size of the booking. Everyone within the party could not talk highly enough of the food with everything being cooked to perfection. Would definitely recommend.

Did book but shoved on a table at the back of pub which was dark asked to move was told they were fully booked and only other table they had was worse than that one we were already at - bill expensive for what we had beware 10% service.Don’t think I will be visiting again anytime soon.

We drove up from Kent to take our daughter out for a nice meal for Tuesday lunchtime but it was anything but! We had to find our own menu’s placed order at the bar then waited just under an hour for starters, the starters were ok but not worth the wait then waited another 25mins for the main meal which was awful, my daughter had chicken supreme which was so dry and the broccoli cold and watery, I had Caesar salad rock hard chicken and so much dressing that was not pleasant, husband had pie which he said was ok. Then sat with half eaten finished plates as the staff walked passed us and cleaned 2 empty tables behind us that had dirty plates and glasses on it from when we first arrived, waited a further 10min for them to take our plates and give us the dessert menus that we gave up and got the bill. My daughter who has autism was really good and patient but still hungry so now in MCDonald’s which is where I’m writing this review from. The Parkin Family

Ordered Pork Gyros and it was terrible. I knew it would be bad because the food came in less than 5 minutes since I placed the order. Salad was off as well as the pork, just reheated.

What a lovely Sunday lunch. Brilliant variety of food and a giant yorkie pud which was all delicious.

Hadn't been for a while as we live some miles away but love this place. So glad that carved lamb is back on the roast menu replacing the lamb "mush" that was being served a while back. Good food (although a little more gravy would not go amiss), great service from a very helpful and pleasant waitress and a nice atmosphere overall. We will be back.

My food order wasn’t the best tasting however the service was brilliant.

Really nice group meal for 13, duck salad was great. Unfortunately got charged for a wine that we had agreed was to be taken off the bill and did not realise until we had left which was frustrating. Great atmosphere, 3pm and the place was lively and preparing for Oktoberfest. Stayed locally for the weekend so not likely to be back, but only for that reason. Friendly server.

We have been here 3 times in the last 2 months and no complaints. The staff are amazing so friendly and helpful food is excellent would highly recommend for families or couples.

I was very happy with the food, atmosphere and generally service was good. However I was very concerned to see serving staff petting dogs then continuing to serve food & drink without washing their hands. I think this is unhygienic and staff really need to be advised not to do this.

It was a lovely afternoon,the weather was lovely and the kids had fun,we was looked after well,our pre order was good,everything came out on time and was hot,all the kids loved there meals,and the waitresses we're great,offering us top up on drinks,I think the only downside was the prices of some of the meals,my 2 brother in law's had a mixed grill,and even tho said it was tasty they couldn't justify why it was £28,as there should have bin alot more there for nearly a £30 meal,and the burger was a little bit small for £17,it needed more to it,but apart from that everything was good.

We booked the Marquee at the Brampton Halt for our wedding reception. Includes a private bar and outside area and the space was perfect! Highly recommend - staff was super organised and so helpful with the planning process and bar service was fast on the day. Food was great, great value for money.

Had the pleasure of transporting Bride, Groom and wedding party to this lovely venue for their reception. Situated on the Northampton and Lamport Preservation Railway. The venue is wonderful. A Lovely array of food outlets a large marquee for use of special occasions. The staff were very welcoming. Very good experience

Awesome pub . We had a small issue with a meal due to being very busy they replaced quickly we spent 200 over two sitting s here on a weekend. Will be coming back . Plus an awesome pint of Birra morietti. 10 out of 10 pub well worth the travel

Room had an Asian curry smell about it . No kettle tea or coffee. Presumably you have to walk back to the bar where cups etc are out , Not made clear & not very helpful first thing in the morning. Uphill &downdale to get cases to the room.

Shame - not a good experience for us had to leave after 1hr 40 mins with hungry grumpy kids as our order was lost... The story: Thought to come here over the bankholiday after visiting the steam trains. Booked a table for 12:00 after the railway visit. Arrived at the pub (was practically empty inside one of the first to be seated for the lunch time serving) at 11:55. Drinks were taken promptly. We were there with 2 kids, 3year old and a 6 year old. 15 mins later drinks arrived then orders were taken. 50mins later I was asking about the starters, to which the staff promplty brought them out. 1hr 10 mins in I started asking about the main course after about 10 mins the waitress came back and said they lost our order. I appreciate it was the bank holiday, we were one of the first ones in the restaurant. There was plenty of opportunity for servers to come round and see that we were not served etc. This is the minimum I would expect from waiting staff in the role. As we were walking out I did a quick head count and there were about 8 waiters/waitressess milling about. When we asked about how could they loose an order the answer came back as "its the bank holiday" and now that we have to re order it would be "a long wait" for food... We cancelled the order and at that point paid and left. So in all 1hr and 20 mins to have a starters and a glass of cola. To the point, had to leave hungry with hungry grumpy kids. I would come back if it is just adults and we can afford to wait, with kids it makes it impossible to keep them entertained and they are hungry for that amount of time. As I said. Shame because the starters were good and I can see this being a great place to dine as per the reviews.

One of the best Sunday roads I've had at a pub. Friendly staff and gorgeous food, good location as well.

We had booked a table for close family after a difficult morning. We arrived very early, with two additional family members, and thought we may have caught staff on the hop but Evie and the rest of the team were on it straight away. Nothing was a problem, tables rearranged, we were seated and drinks ordered. The age of the family varied from mid eighties to eight years of age, Evie and the team were great, trying to lighten the mood, and entertaining our group, whilst the food order was taken. When the food arrived it was very good, and they did not skimp on serving size. With the location and the surroundings you could see how it could get very busy, but as our visit took place during a week day lunchtime it was relatively quiet and we felt that we were looked after very well and will definitely be returning in the future.

Don't normally write these but after such a great meal with excellent service and a really a reasonable price and great selection I thought I would. Highly recommend this place. A cool building with huge out door area and outdoor bar facility. Highly recommend.

Food is delicious as always. Regarding service, the food is taking a little bit longer being served. The staff may say that the food it will be in 15-20 minutes, but it is taking up to 30 minutes. However, it is understandable because the staff are busy and they are trying their best for the customers 😉. Lovely atmosphere, with nice people around. Moreover, the place where Brampton Halt is located it is like heaven 😍, is so special. I would go there over and over again because I dont have enough of that place.

Great place to meet up for a bite to eat or just a drink. Hot summers evening, had booked a table outside, lots of tables on the patio around the central bbq/drinks station, quite a busy place on this occasion. Waitress service at the table which was nice. Ordered lagers and I had London Pride which was a really good pint. My brother and his mrs had brisket and chicken burgers, I had the bbq charcoal grilled 10oz rump ordered medium rare. The burgers were good, both enjoyed them, my steak arrived sliced and topped with chimichurri. I couldn't tell from the taste that my steak was char grilled mainly because there was so much chimichurri it overpowered the flavour of the steak. It was cooked well and was very tender for rump, just couldn't taste the bbq flavour I was hoping for. Thought food was good and service efficient so would return.

Haven't been here for about a year so met friends as a nice location. Can't say the same about the food though! I ordered lasagne from the specials menu. Should have sent it back as soon as it arrived! Tried to eat it to be polite in front of friends but had to say something in the end. The lasagne itself was overcooked, dry and tasteless. The salad advertised with it consisted of lettuce, no sign of a tomato or cucumber or anything resembling a salad at all! The garlic bread was hardly cooked with no garlic?? Our friends were also too polite as their meals were sub standard. The pork belly had so much thick overcooked rock hard crackling on it the meat was non existent. The staff were very polite and offered another meal, which I declined and a free dessert which I did have. How the chef thought it was ok to send these meals out of the kitchen and serve them to a paying customer I don't know!! Also noticed they are already advertising Xmas Day for £100 per person, good luck with that!
