Lovely place to stop off for a drink or something to eat! We were served by Seyf, who is always friendly, chatty, and happy to serve us! Also, the rest of the staff are always friendly

Just loved all about our visit Staff fantastic as well as service brilliant ,ambience and deco with the wood fire going was brilliant , Let’s not forget the food Sunday Roast one of the best I’ve had for a longtime (disappointing that cauliflower cheese has to be paid for separate and only comes in a ramekin but know for next time ) Would highly recommend you won’t be disappointed 👍👍

This is a real hidden gem in the Cambridgeshire area Waterbeach! The place is right on the river. Food was fantastic! Service outstanding and great festive atmosphere!

As soon as we walked through the door we were made to feel welcome. The waiter took a birthday cake to be brought out later without a fuss. Ordering was easy and came in good time. A good balance was struck between meeting our needs without being intrusive. The food was lovely.

Generally an enjoyable experience. We were met with a very friendly and warm welcome. Food was very good, choice of drinks suited our party well and waiting staff were friendly and polite. The only negative was that the time between ordering and receiving our main courses was quite a long period (20mins approx,) but that didn't spoil the evening in any way. Certainly will consider returning

A nice venue poor food. I was very disappointed with my lunch. I I chose a Christmas special set menu the starter was ok, the actual meal itself was poor, potatoes were not roasted properly and the veg was soggy from sitting around for too long. As it was a birthday treat it was spoilt. Would not recommend.

I often dine at The Bridge with my partner and we bring our dog along too. Generous portions of tasty food mean we are always satisfied after a meal. Seyf is a lovely and attentive waiter, which really adds to the experience.

Seyf was our host and he looked after us all splendidly! The food and drink were all absolutely delightful, would highly recommend!

Food was very nice. The atmosphere was lovely and the waiter Sefe was adorable! He made our experience special with his dry sense of humor and the fact he couldn't do enough for us.

I took my son for breakfast with Santa, the price was reasonable for what we received and the staff were so friendly! Santa was patient and took his time with my little boy, and the breakfast came quickly and was delicious!

This was our first time to try this pub. Husband and I came in for burgers as we were around the area to donate at a nearby charity shop. We were received with a slightly awkward welcome. Asked if we have booked a table and I said "no sorry we didn't, we just took our chance as we were around the area". Husband by reflex asked in a nice way if they were fully booked as we've noticed the tables were set up like they were booked. Person awkwardly tried to explain himself why he asked if we were booked etc.... it was a little long and awkward but that's ok. We understand that some people may have trouble with social communication and can misinterpret things. Not good if you're tasked to welcome customers though. Ok, food service was good. 2 young ladies on the floor were great, polite and attentive. As we were about to leave, we didn't want to bother the servers to come and bring the bill so we just went to the bar and I asked if we could pay there. At this point the woman at the bar was just chatting with another server and not busy at all. She proceeded to take the payment coldly (again not a big deal!) while I was paying, she just left and proceeded to chat with the person. Didn't ask me if I needed receipt or even acknowledge me, she just left so I wasn't sure if the payment went through. It was very strange and frankly, rude behaviour. I worked in a hospitality industry when I was young and I wouldn't treat costumers like that. I would suggest you train your staff and not be rude because we were thinking of recommending this place to friends but not anymore. Hospitality and good dining experience is as important as serving good food!

Very disappointed this time round. Had to send my main back as the sprouts were like bullets. It was replaced with dryish cabbage. The fish wrapped in bacon was very dry. Not an enjoyable meal. First time I have had an issue with food here.

Avoid the Fireplace Recently I am writing reviews of different Cambridge pubs. Rating might be adjusted after the journey. The first bite was the pie, the second bite was the mashed potato. The pie was very salty. That made the mashed potato side taste bland. The dish lost its balance. The burger and fries were okay, at least both were hot. The restaurant started the fireplace while we were half way of the dessert. The environment became so smoky that the surrounding new customers requested for other tables. The smoke made my nose and eyes uncomfortable. Especially my eyes, had to return home early to wash my eyes. I have no idea why and when the restaurant would start the fireplace. All I can suggest is, avoid sitting near the fireplace before it's too late for you to change your table like we did. Who knows, maybe it's tactics that make everyone leave before busy dinner hours? The restaurant was not cheap compared to the ones in the town centre.

I came into the pub with my friends I had the gammon it was delicious. Charlotte looked after us well and we can’t wait to come back

We ordered the soup and felt it was a long wait but were surprised after waiting 40 minutes that they arrived with our mains! We gave up on the soup but didn't really receive an explanation or apology 😒 Revisited today and much improved efficiency tasty mushroom starter and very nice sea bass dish

A very friendly, welcoming pub. We have been several times for a meal and are always greeted warmly. We were served by Seyf who was very attentive and couldn’t do enough for us, he clearly takes pride in his job! The food and drink choices are really varied, we were very pleased with all our meals, delicious !

Reduced menu on a Sunday but still a good selection. The steak was excellent and - even though I'm not a big chip fan - they were great too. Portion size was good, not too much and very well presented. Attentive service as well and I was very happy to leave a tip at the end.

Lovely roast dinner,food was very quickly brought out

The worst fish pie possible. Warmed up in the microwave lacking in fish. Mostly sauce and potatoes and a very small portion for almost £20. Fish and chips for me. Fish was okay but frozen chips were only just warm. Would not go back

2 roast meals were ordered, and a fish and chips . The fish I'm told was really good. My roast was cold, and when brought to the attention of the server, I was told we can heat it up. So it was nuked in the microwave. Which is not the best solution. The other roast, the beef, was luke warm, and he didn't want it warmed in the microwave, so he didn't mention this. I would return, but I wouldn't have the roast . Had it been hot, it would have been a lovely meal at a good price.

I highly recommend The Bridge, probably one of the nicest pubs I've ever been to, the staff are very friendly and accommodating, food is varied and great, it's never too busy and the overall feel of the place is very welcoming and relaxing. It's also in a lovely location so many walks and things to see

It saddens me to have to write this because we love the bridge however our recent experience has been playing on my mind all week. As always food was great however the lady who was “incharge “ and I hope not for long really put a damper on the meal. Moody , unwelcoming and needless to say not management material. A sour welcome should never be what a paying customer should experience. We were glad not to be served by her further but instead a lovely young girl with a huge smile on her face. We will be back because we love the bridge however we would not be served by the lady after this experience

If you wish to be abused by staff, this is defo the place to go. We arrived with our boat to meet up with our family for a nice lunch. We were 30m late as we got held up at the river lock. When arrived and after apologizing for the delay, the hostess made it very clear we are not going to have enough time. We said we'll be quick, but apparently, the system booked the table for 4 instead of 5 and although the pub was not even half full, she sent us away. She made it clear she was not going to even try to help us by finding a bigger table or even adding a chair. We were with 2 children, elderly woman and a dog and felt so very unwanted there. Only thing she had to say is the pub's policy basically doesn't permit helping customers. Afternoin was ruined, very poor experience.

Awful experience disgusting food staff were beyond rude. One staff member assuming a manager as not in a uniform looked like she had lost the will to live, grumpy rude, and sorry to say looked dirty and unkept really didn't help with the whole experience. Sort it out before unloose more trade. First time customer now a last time customer

Had to immediately post a review, to hopefully save other people from wasting their money here and save people heartache. Just visited The Bridge pub for Sunday lunch, had quite a few good previous visits here and really thought it would be good today just the same. Well never again will I visit here. I had prebooked a table, you would think that would count and allow a decent amount of time to relax and enjoy your meal and take your time at least a bit - No, that was obviously asking way too much!! From the moment the female staff member came to seat me, she said “I need the table back by 1:30pm” (an hour from my arrival) and really needs some training or a nicer personality because she was cold, unwelcoming and treated me like I was dirt under her shoe. Ordinarily I probably wouldn’t take much more than an hour to have a meal, factoring in the food preparation/serving times, plus eating without choking yourself, but when pressure is immediately put on you and you are made to feel rushed that you must be finished by a certain time, no leeway, well I’m sorry but that completely spoiled what should have been a lovely experience and put me on edge the whole time. She/they should never have given me a time limit in the first place, or anyone full stop. I truly hope they don’t treat anyone else like this. Even worse, everyone else who was there for lunch at the same time/groups of 2, 3 or 4 people, weren’t told that “we need your table by such and such a time”, oh no they must have thought they could treat me like that because I was on my own and they could effectively bully me. Then at 1:20pm I was “reminded” about they needed the table by 1:30pm, so I couldn’t really even order a dessert because there wouldn’t have been enough time and it would have felt even more rushed and why should I pay good money to be treated like that? So I decided no, I’m not going to waste any more money on them when they clearly don’t give a toss about anyone, only about making money. Which was also clear from the moment the woman was going to take me to the table, as her comment after she asked me “is it just you/one person” and I said yes, she then said “that’s absolutely okay” - what the heck does that mean?! There was no reason to say that’s absolutely okay that it was just me on my own, the only reason I can see why she said such a pointless comment is she was hoping there’d be more people so they can make more money. Absolutely disgusted. The food was generally good, apart from most of the meat was fatty so couldn’t eat that and the greens/veg was so dry and tasteless. But on the whole food is good. Two young waitresses were lovely and helped make the experience a bit nicer but for the most part it left me cold and spoilt the time there. I will never return I’m sad to say, it’s a nice place and by the river but standards have definitely crashed to rock bottom. It’s their loss, as I have been and would have been a very good customer and would have gone back many times very happily, but never again.

Came in for Dinner on Monday night. I had the new curry which was delicious.

This is a nice pub next to the river with amazing views but the management is horrible... Not all of them. We went with my friend for dinner and we booked a table. Upon arriving, we asked if we could have drinks outside while we were waiting for our food order and the manager at that time agreed to so and said that he will call us when food was ready. We were allocated a table inside and as told we ordered the food and drinks and went outside to enjoy the garden waiting to be called. After 45 min we realized that nobody came to look after us and we saw that our food was left on the table and obviously cold. This is very unprofessional, by our fortune the next manager covering that shift was lovely and removed the food from the bill apologizing. The previous shift manager will need to learn how to do customer service since what he did is intolerable.

The food and waitress service was good, but the welcome by the owner was grim and extremely unwelcoming. He looked aggravated as though we were a nuisance and problem. Not the 1st place I’d think of going back to in a hurry

Rude staff. We were told we couldn't sit outside on a sunny weekday after lunch time because there was "no space". Over half the tables in the garden area were available.

Me and my partner went for food on a Saturday evening, following a really good meal we have a few months ago. However we were very disappointed with the food and cleanliness of the building. I order the sausages and mash which was supposed to come with carrots and onions, however once the food was served this was not provided and I had a small lump of mash with the sausages, when I politely questioned the missing food I was told the kitchen had ran out, it would have been preferred if this was advised before the food was served so I could have added veg to my meal or changed however, this wasn’t an option provided. Once the food was served I had multiple spiders fall from the ceiling with 1 that landed in my food. As we left the restaurant I politely advise the bar staff and it was smiled at and not taken very seriously. I’m certainly not one to complain or cause issues when out hence why I dealt my issues quietly snd respectfully but to have had the responses I had I was quite disappointed and upset by this. However, on a positive note my partner, I and our dog were welcome very nicely and had lovely servers. The manager very kindly offered our dog treats and cuddles.

Have driven past a number of times and pub never looked very appealing. However inside and riverside dining area is very good. Had Sunday lunch and a drink, graeat service from Charlotte and Maddi. Will be visiting again.

Did go to have dinner with the family, and they did accommodate us even without a booking. Good food , and good beers to choose depending on the food you choose. I will recommend

Disgusting steak sandwich full of gristle in bread covered with watery mustard mayo. Waitress uninterested in negative comments so we paid and left immediately and won’t be back.

The setting is great, adjacent to the river, so you can watch the paddle boarders and boats go past. The whole restaurant is set up, to give you lots of options. Indoor restauarant needs to be pre booked, to guarantee a table. The outside patio area is available, on a "first come, first served" basis. Also there are bench seats and long wooden tables on the grass, ideal for groups, not serviced from the restauarant staff, but you can get your own items, from the bar, and take out. And there are smalltables and chairs, inches away from the river, to really enjoy the waters edge. Not far out from Cambridge, but feels so relaxed, rural, and in the middle of the country, yet only minutes outside the chaos of Cambridge. The selection of food is really good, service is good, staff are friendly, prices are fair. We sat out, by the river, with cocktails, before our meal, sat inside for our Sunday lunch, then took our coffees out, again by the waters edge, to finish the whole enjoyable experience. Would definitely recommend. Will be back.

My husband and I ate at the Bridge yesterday. I had the smothered chicken and strawberry and elderberry crumble sundea. Upon waking this morning, I have been very ill. That is all I ate yesterday, so I can only presume the food gave me food poisoning. Not a happy customer.

Visited on a Sunday so had the Beef Which was cooked perfectly. Parking was great, and the inside was cosy and clean. As it was a sunny day ate outside by the river Cam where it has a beer garden and also tables just for drinks on the edge by the river. Staff were polite and friendly and even though it was busy served in good time. Overall a great experience all round

Amazing experience at the Bridge, it would’ve been nice if we could have merged tables together to sit as a whole family. However, we were a large group without an advanced booking and Mr. Seyf the host was very accommodating. The menu offers a good variety of great meals and our servers Alex and Saskia were spot on, offering great recommendation's and quick service.

We hadn't been for a while as our last experience was poor but we decided to go for a spur of the moment lunch yesterday and it was outstanding. We had the duo of chicken and the belly pork both dishes were well prepared and lovely presentation. The customer service and hospitality was faultless. We told friends on our way home as they had bad experiences too and they are now also looking forward to a return visit.

It's one of the best riverside venues this summer. A must visit and try for anyone in the area. You can get here by road or the punt. Great service and good food.

Making a Friday lunch return to the bridge after an awful Sunday roast in April and what a turn around, busy yet organised , this time the manger was present. A lovely friendly face sat us to our table clearly the general manager unlike last time. A near full garden and the restaurant looked busy too , the young lad Travis was excellent on his own in a very busy lunch making our meal very enjoyable as well as being very knowledgeable about the local buildings. Drinks were fast , food was hot and tasty will definitely return.

Attentive, efficient waitresses, but having a roast dinner at 5.30 was not my best choice, the roast potatoes were very hard and veg was bitter, overcooked but raw in the middle, mentioned it to the waitress, she beetled off to the manager, was asked if I wanted to speak to the manager but I'd already relayed my disappointment, Staff should check flowerpots on tables after every setting for detritus. Stunning location and massive puddings.

Been to this pub twice now and have been very impressed both times. Food is delicious, staff very helpful and dog friendly! I certainly recommend it.

I came here for a birthday lunch with my dad and we couldn't fault anything. The food was amazing. We both LOVED the shepherd pie croquettes! The service was incredible, the waitress was so lovely. I'm sure we will be returning soon! 😁😁

Location is fantastic: right on the River Cam yet far away from the crowded city centre. Plenty of tables - in the restaurant; on the terrace or on the grass nearer the river. But the food was mediocre - very much a chain-pub menu and not to my taste. However, the Bridge is well worth a visit if you want a scenic spot a short drive - or cycle ride - from the city.

We're local to the Bridge and eat out rather a lot. My experience of the bridge has been on and off over the years. I have always given them the benefit of the doubt on several occasions. The past couple of occasions attitudes seem to have changed drastically. Greeted with a huge smile, attended to straight away. Polite and efficient service. Food good to boot. Thanks 😁

Not so good restaurants & pub is completely showing Racism they don’t serve food to other country people I have waited more than 1 hour to Order a food But they are not ready to take the order even.. Not recommended. I have given review for correct only which is near by waterbeach railway station. I have been there very recently so this is my review .

We had to wait 45 minutes for dessert. They forgot about us. I had caramel ice cream myself, which was delicious. The other Bakewell Tart (soft) the other Trio was also dry and not tasty.

Decent enough place in pretty setting. Fitted us in cheerfully tho' we had no booking. Superb pork chop plus crackling and a decent take on a mash and spinach(?) colcannon. With a delicious mild and creamy curried (?) sauce. Only the rubbery broccoli was less than good. Lovely walks from the pub along the Cam afterwards and then Wicken Fen. Glorious!!
