Just had the Burns night menu, went last year and was brilliant. This year however not so good. Food was lovely but not everything available on menu, when I mentioned this to waitress I was told that not everything had been delivered. If your offering a particular menu you should make sure in advance that the full menu is available.

Visited today with 3 others. Overall disappointed with the food. 1 small plate was returned as it was inedible. Other small dishes were not as described. Fish batter was soggy and temperature was tepid. Most of the food was left and when staff cleared it away..... none of us were asked if we enjoyed it!

10 of us had a lovely breakfast after walking using the Alltrail app which meant 8 of us had a free breakfast & hot drink this weekend, very good, friendly service, dog beds were provided for our 2 dogs too, lovely surroundings, we've all been here before & will definitely visit again this lovely pub

Had a great evening here with our friends,. Lovely drinks behind bar and great IPA. Probably the best pub/resruraunt food I've encountered for a very long time. All food and service was perfect, tasty, good presentation and good size portions. Starters for us all was chicken strips with dip and I had squid. For mains we had Beef cheeks(so nice) , ham hock and haddock. All of it was perfect, followed by different deserts but if I'm honest, not much room left by this time. Lol. Service both at the bar and in resruraunt was also great. Will definitely return and spread the word. We'll done to all the team.

Visited with a dog to meet parents. First of all, the welcome was great. Extremely friendly. Very dog friendly too. I’m vegan, and eating out can be a pain in the arse, but the bridge got it right this time with the mushroom and ale pie. I left feeling looked after and satisfied

Love that's it's right outside of the train station (Shawford), so we can hop on and get the train home too! Beautiful place. Looking forward to coming again soon.

I had the grave misfortune of dining at this establishment during what was supposed to be a charming evening date. First impressions were deceptive - the pub appeared cosy, with a lovely atmosphere, and the lit path from the rear car park to the restaurant was genuinely enchanting. Little did we know this fleeting moment of charm would be the only highlight of the night. The experience began to unravel the moment we stepped through the door. We stood awkwardly by the entrance, ignored by the front of house, who seemed more engrossed in communing with the till than acknowledging paying customers. Considering we'd just entered through the rear door by the car park, it would have been prudent for him to mention the need to register our vehicle. Of course, this was not forthcoming, leaving me to chase it up myself - a tedious chore that should never be necessary. We were eventually seated at what seemed a cosy table by the fire. At last, a silver lining, or so we thought. Five minutes later, the wait staff arrived to take our order - two pork roasts and drinks. The drinks arrived shortly after, though one was wrong. I decided not to make a fuss, politely pointing it out but agreeing to drink it regardless - mistakes happen, right? Little did I realise this would be the least of the evening's offences. Forty-five minutes passed. No food. We flagged down a member of staff to inquire, and their response was as baffling as it was infuriating: they had lost our order. Lost it? Pray, how did they manage to deliver sides for an order they supposedly couldn't locate? The whole explanation smacked of disorganisation and thinly veiled excuses. Nevertheless, we were relieved when our food finally emerged, albeit underwhelmingly lukewarm and dismal in every conceivable way. The so-called roast was a travesty. The potatoes, if one could call them that, were an abomination - cardboard masquerading as food, stale and soggy in equal measure. The vegetables were a tragic sight: wrinkled, lifeless, and clearly aged beyond their prime, seemingly exhumed from a countertop where they'd languished for hours. As for the pork, it was an insult to roasts everywhere - fatty, rubbery, and, inexplicably, adorned with grill marks. Grill marks! On roast pork! Who thought this culinary Frankenstein was acceptable? To call it "express pork" would be generous - it was more like reheated regret. The gravy was the final indignity. Watery, insipid, and utterly devoid of flavour, it resembled dishwater with a brown tint. It didn’t enhance the meal - it sabotaged it. The lone redeeming element, if you can call it that, was the stuffing, though its meagre 3cm cube portion was laughably inadequate. The side dishes were no better. The cauliflower cheese was an unholy alliance of undercooked cauliflower and overpowering mustard, with any trace of cheese conspicuously absent. The pigs in blankets, meanwhile, were pale, undercooked, and frankly terrifying. We didn’t dare risk consuming them for fear of joining the local A&E’s pork-poisoning register. We raised our concerns with the wait staff, only to be met with a casual, "We’ve had a lot of people complain about the roast today." Oh, marvellous! Thank you for that little nugget of reassurance - truly, the cherry on this culinary catastrophe. In a gesture of atonement, we were offered free puddings as compensation. But after enduring the horror show that was the main course, we were in no mood to tempt fate. Needless to say, we left the food untouched, settled the bill (yes, we paid for this misery), and made our swift escape. Salvation came in the form of a late-night Five Guys in Winchester town, where a simple burger and fries felt like dining at the Ritz in comparison. This experience was nothing short of an utter disgrace. It was not a meal, it was a culinary crime scene. For a venue with such promise, it failed spectacularly in every conceivable way. Save your time, money, and stomach - this establishment is a disaster dressed in cosy decor.

Bit disappointing. Ordered garlic bread at £3.49 and was served with one small thin slice of bread and a scraping of garlic butter. Main courses were okay. For dessert, we ordered mini desserts (trifle) with tea or coffee. The trifle served was just a tiny piece of sponge topped with a tiny bit of whipped cream (we were expecting a little jelly and possibly a small piece of fruit with the sponge and cream to resemble a traditional trifle and at least a couple of spoonfuls to enjoy whereas we were served with barely one teaspoonful!). Also, we were given hot frothy milk with our pots of tea,! The waitress seemed surprised when we politely asked if we could have cold milk with our teas. It was an expensive evening and not sure we'll return any time soon.

Having gone to the bridge for a meal we encountered the disappearing manager befor you could order a drink gone then came back managed to order drinks, I asked where could sit for a meal he said either side then my wife looked for a table to be told they were all reserved and this man is rude to say the least, we left having paid for drinks we did not get. To be honest it spoilt a trip down memory lane as we have used this pub on and of for 50 years but that went out of the window . Registered a complaint via their complaints process I was assured that an area manager would contact us no he tried to put his side across he was at fault as I live up north now I doubt we could enjoy it but I will never use the bridge again memories lost

Really nice pub. Very doggy friendly. Great location for walks. Staff were great. Had chicken and bacon sandwich really good. The only slight issue is that the outside areas near the outside bar need a good tidy up, a lot of rollup cigarette buts lying around. If this is a smoking area then containers need to be provided. When we were there was no one smoking but popular with dog walkers so just needs a regular sweep up.

Got to be one of the worst Indian meals in a long time, half tandoori chicken was so dry and aged looking. People were nice enough, I didn’t complain as don’t want to get into it, I was only visiting the area but definitely won’t be going back. Shane as nice little square…

We wanted it to be good as the staff were so nice. French onion soup was delicious. Had the lamb neck - very gelatinous, sauce was dense, heavy and gloopy and also a gloopy puree. In all far too heavy although the ‘French peas were nice. Husband had mackerel which he said was delicious. Had the 3 cremes dessert between us - the chocolate crème was a very very solid ganache (couldn’t put spoon in ) and the 2 types of crème brûlée were eggy and slightly split. Coffee was good.but in all we were disappointed and thought expensive for the quality of food.
