The Bull's Head in Lichfield

My wife and I arrived without a reservation during a very busy time. The host or maybe it was the manager? Was incredibly accommodating! I asked for a cosy corner and he gave us the two wing back chairs in front of the fireplace! And he light a fire! Food was good and service ,even during this busy time, was fairly good I’d definitely return!

We had a family meal here on boxing day. A party of 14. Food was excellent & nobody was left waiting. All food was hot. Service was friendly & efficient. Thank you to Chris & the staff.

Amazing best Christmas Day meal we have had and Katie our server was so good and so friendly. My son is autistic and they was so accommodating so good we have booked next year ⭐️ ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️

Lovely meal on Boxing Day, the food was wonderful our server Billie was fabulous, she is a real asset to your team.

We stopped in at The bull's Head on the way home from visiting a nearby tourist attraction. I chose this venue specifically because of the menu, and I wasn't disappointed. I know it sounds crazy but I will do anything for a chicken parmigiana, and I can confirm there's was absolutely perfection. The crispiness of the chicken, combined with the heap of cheese on the top and sauce was just delightful. Especially loved the pickled onions that were included on top of the salad and the fries were crispy and delicious. I really loved the menu and I would come back again to try a number of different things on it. The only issue I had and why didn't get five stars is that it was rammed. Absolutely overflowing with people to the point that made it uncomfortable to be in that space. The staff were overwhelmed and struggling to keep up with what everybody needed, customers were calling out for their attention resulting in a whole mix of things not happening the way they should. Food delivery was out of order for different tables, payment was out of order the different tables making most people quite frustrated. I really felt for the team and how they had to cope. We did book a table as did everyone else, but I think the timing was probably too close together in bookings because people were waiting for long periods of time for their table to free up. I would definitely come here again, if I thought that it would be a bit more of a comfortable environment. Management just need to look at how they time their meals especially over the festive season

Have been on many occasions always had a lovely meal, but was disappointed on this visit, unfortunately my friend and myself left our main meal as we found there was no flavour and the chicken very dry. Edit: this is not the review I did yesterday this one was last year. The review I put in yesterday was that the meal was exceptional we really enjoyed our meal and the waitress Emily couldn’t do enough for us. Thank you for a lovely experience again.

Every time I’ve been here the food has been amazing! The service and atmosphere is lovely. Natalia our waitress was lovely, knowledgeable and friendly. She went out of her way to make sure we had a great experience and really cared about my dairy allergy. Highly recommended

I can't seriously stress how good my steak was. I've been here many times, but this was the best 👌

Booked a table for 1 as I was staying locally for the night whilst working away. It was very early evening so there were only around half a dozen other people dotted around. Even so, once I'd been sat down with the menu and a pint I did not see another staff member for over half an hour until I paid for the drink and left. The menu was pretty uninspiring to be fair and the service poor. I have no idea if you're supposed to order at the bar, but nothing was mentioned about that. There was also no question as to why someone that had booked for food was now just paying the for a drink and leaving even though I paid the same person that had initially shown be to the table so I'm guessing it either happens regularly or staff are not that bothered...the latter would certainly explain the lack of service at the table. All in all I have no idea what the food tastes like, the menu seemed to have been simplified from what I had seen online before making my trip, maybe to accommodate the festive menu. Judging by the service I'd say The Bull's Head was overpriced and, from other reviews I've read, on this occasion certainly under delivered.

The staff on arrival were excellent. It wasn’t noisy even though it was busy, perfect for me with hearing aids. Food arrived quickly and was very good. Thoroughly enjoyed our visit.

It was our tennis club’s ladies Christmas meal. The food, service and atmosphere were all superb.

The food was very good. The staff were very helpful and friendly. One of our party was sight impaired and we needed to change to a well lit table. The staff were understanding, and despite 9 of us in the party, we were moved to a new table within 20 minutes. Very helpful, thank you.

We love this place and booked to have breakfast with our families the morning after our wedding. Chris was fantastic throughout as we were a large group. Food, atmosphere and service were amazing as always. Thank you so much for making the morning after our wedding so special.

We had a big party of 24 for breakfast and we couldn’t fault it . The breakfasts all came out hot and there was lots of it . Chris was amazing and nothing was too much trouble for him . Would definitely recommend coming to the bull

We visit the Bulls Head reguarly, but rarely remember to leave a review, but everytime we visit Chris & the team provide excellent service and make you feel very welcome. Food is always great quality.

Good food excellent service let down at the end by saying my £10 discount voucher for signing up was not redeemable as we had chosen 2 meals off the lunchtime menu . There was nothing stating this however after a bit of twoing and froing they honoured the voucher. Will come back again though very nice

I recently visited the Bulls Head for a midday meeting. We didn't order food and only had drinks, coffee and juices. The staff were very friendly, the pub was warm and cosy and it was easy to hold a conversation. I would recommend this pub as a convenient place to meet with clients, family and friends.

The food was very good and nicely presented. The lady who served us was lovely, very courteous and helpful. Felt as though the management could do with arranging a little extra cover, waitress wise but understand as everywhere you go is just the same (Short staffed).

Visiting with my daughter Jo, grandson Arthur, and my son James, we enjoyed a memorable Sunday meal that exceeded all our expectations. The star of our visit was Amanda, our attentive waitress, whose warm and friendly approach made the evening even more special. Her attention to detail and welcoming smile added such a personal touch to our dining experience. The Sunday roast was simply superb—perfectly cooked, full of flavor, and beautifully presented. The service was impeccable, making us feel valued and well-cared for from start to finish. A huge thank you to the team at The Bull, Shenstone, for an outstanding experience. We look forward to returning soon and highly recommend this gem for anyone looking for a great meal with excellent service!

Only went for a quiet pint, but the atmosphere was very welcome

Fantastic evening to celebrate an occasion. Private room was really good for the occasion and a large group. Service from Emily was really professional, and efficient. She really looked after us and was very courteous. The other staff who helped as well were also great and accommodating. Food was delivered on time, without long waits. Three of us went for a birthday lunch - we had three starters and three mains. Could not fault a thing. Service and food were both excellent.

We hired part of the pub for a buffet today, following my daughters wedding in Lichfield. There were approx 30 guests. The staff atThe Bulls Head made us all welcome and the buffet laid out was better than any we have before. The huge range of choice, the freshness, was unbelievable. Not a sandwich in sight. Can’t thank them enough and really highly recommend

Absolutely stunning food. I had the Mexican chicken kebab with hummus and flatbread, I would highly recommend this given I am a fussy eater! The Chicken and vegetable curry was equally as delicious ..........both plates completely cleared. Oh and the dessert..........wow given I am a huge fan of anything "banoffe " flavoured I've never had anything so delicious as the Banoffe Suox bun 😋 😍 just no words!!!! Kate/Katy was spot on with the service not too pushy/intrusive but very attentive. Fabulous evening and will be returning very soon A great place to wine and dine or just relax with loved ones. Looking forward to next time.....

The burger was really dry and despite our feedback and not eating the burger we still got charged for it, I personally think it is not fair. Also they were going to charge us for someone else's order if we have not checked the bill. Strong starter but disappointing mains.
