Always a lovely roast dinner here, we’ve had both the beef & the sharing lamb, both are amazing! They also serve a roast until late evening, would really recommend if you’re visiting Bradford on Avon.

Here’s a draft for your review: I recently visited the Bunch of Grapes in Bradford-on-Avon for a Sunday roast, and it was an exceptional experience. The atmosphere was warm and welcoming, setting the perfect tone for a relaxing evening. The staff were attentive and adhered to all the instructions I provided before our reservation. We were greeted with genuine warmth upon arrival. The food was absolutely delicious, complemented by a great selection of drinks and desserts. Although there was a minor hiccup with a special order of vegetables for my partner, the staff handled it beautifully, offering a solution that left us very satisfied. I would highly recommend the Bunch of Grapes to anyone looking for delicious food, delightful drinks, and a wonderful atmosphere. It’s a fantastic spot for a memorable dining experience!

What a find! You cant really tell what this place is like from the outside but dont pass by - Go in! Its fabulous - has a great atmosphere, friendly and relaxed. We just had drinks and snacks at the bar but the restaurant was full on a thurs night and the food looked superb. Delicious looking menu including tasting menu and wine pairing. Also they have a deli during the day which we are going back to visit tomorrow. Also worth mentioning lovely cocktails and a great wine list. Staff were lovely- rushed off their feet but still made time to chat to us and made us very welcome. Am loathed to share it really as i dont want it to get too busy but its a must if you're in bradford on avon

Beautiful old pub space, not been here for a long time. Very different to what I remember being a local cosy pub. BUT staff fantastic, it was a wonderful few hours of bliss with friends drinking champagne and red wine. We wanted to stay all night.

What a lovely place, just needs a 'tweaks'... The food was very good, well presented & beautiful cooked and good price point. There were only 11 in the restaurant. But 'man' it was slow, the staff lacked the happy to serve you switch. So much so that having served us they asked if there was anything else we wanted, 'before I have to go upstairs?' We were repeatedly asked how our meal was, twice we replied 'the chips were off the scale salty', to which the response was, 'yes they are very salty chips'. What's the point in asking if you are indifferent to the answer you already know? I know it's difficult these days but ... A little heating would be good. Having said this I would recommend this place, and go back... But please up the service... Thank you ...

Ok food too expensive for the quality. Very greasy fish and chips with very small portion of peas. Drinks also expensive and service charges of 12.5 percent added to bill with no explanation of it being discretionary. Would not recommend

Two couples and we went out for Sunday lunch two of us had chicken and two the sharing Lamb board everything absolutely superb. The different tastes and flavours exceptional. Only negativity is the waitresses were trying to take food orders before we had even been offered a drink which seems the only slight downside to an otherwise superb meal.

This restaurant was amazing, we came here twice over the weekend. Thoroughly recommend the Flat Iron Steak and Salmon starter as well as passion fruit creme brûlée. The mix of flavours is exquisite, quality of ingredients superb and staff is without fault. Lovely choice of wines and friendly and welcoming atmosphere. Such an excellent value for money. We tried from entrees: salmon, pigeon and tomatoes and from mains pork belly/shoulder and flat iron steak. All were faultless and that’s why we came back 2nd time. Great thanks to the chef and all the staff. Definitely worth visiting, perfect for celebrating an occasion.

This was our food highlight of our Cotswold road trip. The food was delicious, service was extremely attentive, and atmosphere was modern and chic. We had the tomatoes to start, and I had the pork for my main. The pork can in four different ways and all were delicious. The dishes were also expertly presented, and the beer selection was diverse. This is a must if you’re in the area.

Not being a able to cut the armoured exterior of the roast potato and a knife that can only be described as a metal interpretation of a bit of wood. The gravy needs a revisit by the chef. All in all not worth a return.

Chef Tony is doing such amazing stuff here! Our best dining experience on our trip to the English countryside from NYC. Grated goat cheese on beets is so subtle and it incorporates flavor of the cheese in every bite, not just chunks you taste here and there. The trout appetizer with peanut sauce and radish was also delicious. Our mains were perfectly cooked Hake with such delicious vegetables with yellow daal and pakora (mind blowing) on the side, and a classic fish and chips that was made to perfection. And for dessert we tried the sticky toffee pudding with vanilla ice cream and the rhubarb which were both very delectable. All in all, 20/10 recommend.

Absolutely delicious roast dinner. I shared the lamb for 2 with my husband and it was cooked to perfection. I initially thought there wasnt going to be enough food but with the additional vegetables there was plenty. Sometimes your gut feeling is all you need to not eat in a place. Went in last week for a breakfast. There was a bearded man standing outside smoking, turned out he was the chef, barman and nearly everything else. No people skills what so ever and borderline rude. Food presented was an English breakfast. Not good at all. To sum up our experience here, I’d say ( and also our company would say 1. If you are going to open a restaurant come coffee house, firstly, learn how to make coffee that’s warm . 2. Put someone at the front of house that has good people skills, and maybe doesn’t stand outside smoking. 3. Cook decent fresh food. The good thing about having lived in BOA for years is that you see these places come and go. This will be one of those that will go in my opinion. Unless they can get together. There are other amazing places for coffee and cake in Bradford on Avon. Good job in this instance. Plus see other reviews stating the same thing . Tells you all you need to know.

We visited tonight for the 7 course taster menu and what a delight. I enjoy every course but my favourite was the artichoke dish which I could have ate a bowlful off had I not had another 6 delicious dishes to devour ! I’m not a dessert person but the sorbet and brûlée combination was lovely and converted me ! Our waitress was lovely , very knowledgeable with the dishes served and seemed to be keeping everything ticking over nicely ! My only small gripe was we waited quite a while for our drinks and it was a little chilly in the restaurant! But once reminded the drinks we brought across and the window was shut !

Food is good and the place has atmosphere. However , it’s expensive and the service was poor .. we waited 75 mins to be fed because too much priority was given to serving a party of 20+ … if you can’t realistically cope with the numbers , why take bookings from people and then make them wait too long for their food ?… It was poor and ruined what should have been a nice evening

Great vibe. Cozy place. Great food. This was my first Sunday Roast and it was outstanding. Reasonably priced. Located on a side street up the road this place was packed and deservedly so. They accommodated a lone diner who had not made reservations and though I clearly did not have that great of a seat it was so worth it. Wonderful dining experience. 2 of us had the tasting menu and 2 had the wine pairing menu. One of the amuse bouche before the menu was an explosion of chill in the mouth, the flavour equivalent of a pinch of snuff. The wines perfectly matched the dishes. Particularly the celeriac dish where without the wine the main flavours were cheese and mushrooms, but when I cleared my palate with some wine, my mouth and nose filled with the hidden truffle scent and taste. The meal ended with a dish centred on a Passion Fruit Creme Brulee, that was perfectly balanced with less sugar than you would normally expect.

Another nice Sunday and another successful roast outing. I've heard good things about the roast here so naturally wanted to give it a go. The pub itself had a great vibe and it was busy and they were very accommodating. The roast itself I went for a pork belly roast with some extra cauli cheese. Couldn't fault the roast at all. Pork belly was nice and tender, combined with the apple sauce made the taste even nicer. Roast potatoes were lovely and crispy on the outside and soft in the middle. Gravy was nice and thick and plentiful. Special mention goes to the cauli cheese, lots of cheese and very tasty. Yorkshire pudding was on point as well.

We had a tremendously good lunch here today-the food was quite delicious, the staff were very friendly and helpful-I’d say it’s probably one of the best lunches I’ve had in quite some time….so to give you a clue we both had the pork-this sounded really lovely and we were not disappointed-pork belly, tenderloin,a faggot and a ham hock croquet with mashed potato and roasted cauliflower with a delicious jus and a slice of pickled apple( which I ate immediately with a piece of pork and when the waiter came to ask how our lunch was I asked if he could possibly get me another piece-which he did👍🏻) For dessert we shared the passion fruit crème brûlée which came with a passion fruit sorbet and some chocolate soil…..the focaccia we had at the start of the meal was superb and the coffee was also excellent -we do enjoy both cooking and eating-one of life’s pleasures and it’s abundantly clear the chef absolutely loves food too-a great display of cooking books from the greats sort of got me thinking it would be a good lunch…….also worth noting the drinks menu-some lovely wines, soft drinks and cocktails both alcoholic and non alcoholic. I finished off with a mocha which was hot chocolatey but not too sweet. Bradford on Avon is most definitely worth a visit and I’d say you would be foolish to miss out on a great experience if you didn’t also pop in to the bunch of grapes for some sustenance while there… Thanks for lunch and as Arnie says “ we’ll be back”…..

had a little work christmas party here and the food was great. really good quality and standard of food. good portions too. however, the staff at the bar created a table bill for drinks and when we went down to the bar, they insisted that we cannot pay for our drink separately from our table bill. this in turn created a large drink bill where they put a 20% service charge on top of all the drinks. the drinks took very long, some were forgotten and service was slow. the staff didnt seem like they knew how to handle large group bills as well. we had booked this a month beforehand and didnt seem prepared at all. when some of my colleagues tried to take off the OPTIONAL service charge, they argued that it couldn't be taken off. would go there again for food but wouldn't have high expectations for the service.

Stumbled upon this restaurant while staying nearby, it was a rainy early evening when we went in. The young lady behind the counter was pleasant enough, informing us we could order from the menu if we did so immediately, limited choice, but had a Sunday Roast. A different, sullen waitress brought our meal which I must say was beautifully cooked, pricey for what it was with a service charge added on, how pretentious. The original young lady came to see if we wanted dessert, the choice was sadly uninspiring but she politely chatted with us, she was warm & friendly, Robyn you are a little diamond as front of house, your cheerfulness & knowledge as we discussed menus was inspiring, I hope the owners, management realise they are lucky to have you. We were visiting my daughter and family for the weekend. My daughter had heard that The Bunch of Grapes had a good reputation and knowing that I was a bit of a foodie booked a table. Initially when we arrived we were attended to for our drinks and nibbles order. Then it all went horribly wrong. The drinks arrived - (no nibbles) and it was as if we were invisible - completely ignored. My daughter and son-in-law over the next hour or more independently asked (politely) if we might have some service which eventually arrived. It effectively took almost 2 hours for a one course meal. Occasionally things go wrong. I understand that. But it's how they are then rectified. When we went to pay our bill we quietly voiced our complaint and was advised by the woman (who I assume was the manager on that evening) that she had deducted the (discretionary) service charge and one glass of wine which seemed pretty miserable compensation for the frustration and excessive delay. After further discussion the manager, unapologetically and reluctantly deducted the cost of one more glass of wine. Having worked in customer facing positions all my life I found her attitude to be both extraordinarily rude and totally unacceptable. The two stars are for the quality of the food that eventually arrived. Zero stars for service and attitude.

Had a lovely special birthday celebration meal last weekend. Parking in Bradford is very difficult but we were lucky as we were dropped off by our airbnb host , on arrival we were advised to there and then book a taxi for return as it was very busy, we did and all worked out fine. We were able to mix and match the 5 course tasting menu ( x 2 ) with A La Carte ( x2 ) , all was lovely and the servers did their very best to ensure courses coincided as much as they could. All the courses were great and portions certainly not small . The Lamb and Fish dishes were particularly good. Service was well paced neither too quick nor too slow and we were bang on for taxi time just under 3 hours after arriving. There was a mix up over our wine order when red was initially served instead of Rose but this was replaced without charge ( and I think we ended up with an extra bit!). The cost was £280 for 4 ( including service and a good few drinks) which was good I felt for the quality we received. Not sure this place would be accessible for mobility impaired people, we were up 2 flights of stairs , but I think the same does for hilly Bradford as a whole. The restaurant looks very small from the outside but is deceptively spacious inside with the upstairs seating.

My husband booked a table for two for a Sunday evening during our stay in Bradford-on-Avon as part of a birthday celebration and received a confirmation email. We were looking forward to the five-course taster menu, clearly advertised on the website as being available on Sundays. The day before our visit we received an email reminder but when we arrived the young lady we spoke to seemed unable to find our reservation. She told us the restaurant was closed and the taster menu was unavailable then checked with the chef. She also went to speak to the manager but said our only option was to order from the roasts menu in the bar. At no point did the manager come to speak to us to explain and apologise. The young lady was polite but clearly uncomfortable and unsure of how to deal with a difficult situation that was the responsibility of management. We decided to go elsewhere and were fortunate to find a table in another restaurant at short notice. I contacted the Bunch of Grapes via its website to outline our disappointment at our reservation being overlooked and the advertised menu being unavailable but received no reply. Restaurants rightly expect customers to act considerately and fulfil bookings but, equally, customers deserve to know that advertised information is correct and reservations are respected. To disregard our reservation in such a cavalier manner and be unwilling to make a courteous apology seems arrogant.

I don’t normally write reviews cause I read some and they are horrible !! But I decided to write one for bunch of grapes, my self and my partner visited here on Sunday for lunch, it was abit pricey but we thought we would treat ourselfs to somewhere nice. I’ve been told of different people this place is amazing so we thought why not. When we arrived it was super busy and it looked like they short staffed. We were seated at a table where their Wi-Fi was plugged in which was annoying as one of the staff kept asking if they could switch it on/off as it kept tripping out. We ordered drinks and food, we had bread and olives to start with which was lovely I couldn’t fault the food!!! We had nearly finished eating the olives when the French guy (not sure if he was the manager) came over and whipped the plates away when we were still eating !!!! Wtf!!! So rude I almost said excuse me I’m still eating !! The way he kept plonking everything on the table was like he was too busy to smile, chat , be polite ! The Sunday roast was amazing. But was let down by the service. They also put on a service charge on your bill which I personally think is cheeky. Didn’t have a very nice experience there. Although the food was lovely. I wouldn’t go back there.

We were totally underwhelmed with the 7 course tasting meal . The first four courses came within 3/4 of an hour of us sitting down. The table was too small and altogether didn’t feel like a Michelin starred experience, it certainly didn’t justify the price. People on the next table had a meal from the ala carte and that looked delicious!

Exceptional meal tonight. We have been a few times and always excellent. We had a private function here last year and enjoyed it just as much. We are so lucky to have such quality on our door step.

Wonderful meal as we have always experienced previously at this venue - it is consistently spot on. This was the first time ordering from the dinner menu (we have usually booked for the taster menu). No disappointment with anything, excellent quality food - crab starter, hake and flat iron steak. Pre-dinner cocktails and good quality wine available by the glass. The food was sufficient in portion and we shared a dessert as fairly full and this was no problem at all delivered with two spoons and a smile. Friendly, smooth and efficient service and the online booking works well. Will be back again when next in the area.

I feel like I'm living in an alternative universe to the one experienced by recent reviewers. I live in Bath and had heard so many good things about The Bunch of Grapes. My husband and I were out for a rare celebratory meal and were very much looking forward to it. Our first drink took 35 minutes to arrive. The staff - just 3 of them and all young - were clearly struggling to cope with a busy Friday evening. Our food arrived about an hour after we arrivied. The starter of crab was £13 . The portion of crab was barely much bigger than a 50 pence piece with four spears of asparagus. Our main courses of cauliflower burger and fish and chips were overbooked and dry. My fries tasted like oven chips I'd made for the family and forgotten to take out of the oven. We paid the best part of a hundred pounds for two courses each and two alcoholic drinks. Am genuinely baffled as to why this place is rated highly. So much so, my husband thought I had mixed it up with somewhere eise. An enormous disappointment.

We eat out a lot. We live in London and prior to that, New York. This goes down as one of our best meals in the last 10 years. The food is incredible. Clearly the output of someone who is passionate and creative. We were there in a Saturday in the bar downstairs which was bizarrely quiet considering what’s on offer there. The team are also so friendly and sweet. Don’t miss it.

Seven courses of exquisite food. Not only was each course absolutely sublime, there was not a single ingredient in any of the seven courses that was not just perfect. Not hyperbole, this was a perfect meal. The wine list was good, the service was superb...

Overall the food was very good, although the cauliflower cheese was over cooked and a little stodgy. Table was too small for 2 people and we were squeezed in next to a wall and directly behind another table. Service was good, but could be improved,...
