The Butcher`s Bar & Grill in Kingston upon Hull, City of

My partner and I had a reservation at 7pm on 18/01/25. We were seated very quickly and given a food menu but was told there was no drinks menu currently, they didn’t have enough for some reason. We waited 20 minutes before leaving as no one had even come over to take a drink order in this time. Other people came in after us who had booked a table to be told there wasn’t a table despite having booked. The staff made a makeshift table next to us, near the door. Another customer also complained as they’d reserved a booth due to having a baby and walked out. My partner and I had had enough of being ignored and walked out and ate elsewhere. The staff looked rushed off their feet and stressed. The whole thing seemed very unorganised.

My girlfriend was given a free voucher for 2 burgers and 2 soft drinks. We turned up on a Monday night and were the only people in the restaurant. We felt bad so I upgraded my soft drink to a Kronenburg and I also ordered a cajun chicken burger so we paid a little extra. The beer was bad and even my girlfriends cola tasted funky. When the burger arrived 30 minutes later the first thing that hit me was the stank. The burger had a strange smell, I had a bite and it tasted how it smelt, like cow farts. My girlfriend tried it to see I wasn't going mad and it was clearly rotten. We did eat the chicken burger which was also luke warm but we were hungry. When the lady asked if everything was OK I apologised and said no, she took the burger away and minutes later the owner came out on the expensive telling us that his meat is fresh and he only orders 3 days worth of meat at a time so it doesn't go off. I said sorry mate I hate to complain but the burger smells and tastes of cow manure. I don't know how but it just smells like it. He said he tried it and it was alright, all that he can imagine is that the chef left the meat mouth maybe, he offered us another burger. I asked if it was from the same batch , he said yes I said nah. I understand this was a free burger, but this was bad meat! Other reviews say the same thing. He also said I don't want you to think because I am giving away free burgers that I'm using dodgy meat! I mean I never said that but it's on the owners mind. Just be careful if you eat here

My partner and I visited the butchers bar and Grill this evening, have to say the food was outstanding. The salmon fillet and the ribeye steak I had was tremendous. Table service was brilliant, atmosphere was very good. Will definitely come again in the near future.

Would highly recommend this restaurant. Date night for 2, the food was excellent, steak was mouth watering, sides were delicious and the sticky toffee pudding was delicious. Lovely cosy atmosphere, very friendly staff. We will definitely be returning 🌟🌟🌟🌟🌟

Cuatro de nosotros vinimos a comer esta noche 3 pedimos el filete de filete 1 pedimos el filete de solomillo 5 * para la cocción y el sabor de los filetes que todos acordamos que estaba delicioso. Desafortunadamente las papas fritas y los aros de cebolla no fueron los mejores, 12 papas fritas congeladas y 4 aros de cebolla congelados. Si pago más de 35 libras por un filete no deberías servir nada congelado. No tenían cabida en el mismo plato que el encantador filete, tal vez probar patatas fritas caseras y aros de cebolla en el futuro los cuatro estuvimos de acuerdo.

Ambiente agradable a la llegada y sentado muy rápidamente. Menú explicado y pedido de bebidas tomadas, así como el pedido de comida como estábamos listos. Los entrantes salieron en un momento decente y fue muy agradable. La red eléctrica salió unos 10 minutos después de retirar las placas de inicio y la porción justa de comida para disfrutarla sin estar demasiado llena para moverse. Los postres eran encantadores, pero no podía terminar como estaba tan lleno. Ahora estamos mirando a celebrar el cumpleaños de nuestro hijo en la calle 21. Sin duda volveré a visitar pronto.

Mi pareja y nuestros dos amigos visitaron la carnicería y la parrilla anoche y no puedo culparlo un poco, el personal era bien educado y educado no podía hacer lo suficiente para nosotros, un buen ambiente teníamos entrantes, patatas fritas y aros de cebolla y una mezcla de pudines La comida iba a morir por el filete fue condimentado y cocinado a la perfección sin duda vendrá de nuevo

Nice atmosphere, great service, and the food was some of the best I've ever eaten. Nice menu with something for everyone and the prices are not too mad. Will definitely go back... as soon as we can!

Recently visited as a family of 4, service was brilliant and we wasn’t waiting long for our food at all! The mains and starters we ordered were delicious, Calzones were delicious really big and we took our leftovers home for later 😋 also ordered the rump steak, beef stroganoff and creamy chicken, I would say that the sauces on both dishes were far too rich and heavy to enjoy the whole dish but I see that’s mentioned in other reviews too which I should have read first, but overall we have no complaints and would definitely visit again but maybe a different dish, looking forward to trying the steak burger! 4 **** from me 😃

Visited with my Partner & son for a belated birthday meal for my partner. My son & I had read the reviews & although they are mixed we still wanted to try this place. I would like to start with the menu on line is different to the one you are given. Our table was booked for 7.30 & due to parking we arrived at 7.35. The waitress apologised & said our table was not set but seated us & set the table around us. We was brought over some water & our drinks order taken. They didn’t arrive the quickest. The tables are quite close together & when we came to order our food at 7.45 the waitress asked us to keep repeating it has she could not hear us. We all ordered a starter. Me cheesy garlic bread, my partner ribs & my son. My main was mushroom stroganoff. Both the my partner & son ordered the ribeye stake , side of broccoli, chips & onion rings. At 8.20 we asked a waitress about our starters as it was well over 30mins. She came back & said no order was placed for the starters. So we said fine. We will just have our mains. 2 minutes later the same waitress brought our starters to us! The food was piping hot & really nice. The garlic bread was brought in a basket which isn’t ideal when it is covered in cheese as most of the cheese ended up at the bottom of the basket. I had to ask for a plate for this as they didnt bring me one. About 5 minutes after we had finished our starters the waitress who took our order came over & said to me. Oh your main comes with a Side what would you like, I felt rushed & ordered onion rings. The food came approximately 10mins later. So about 15 minutes after we had finished our starter. I have never been served a stroganoff without rice or chips before but guess this would have been a side, it was one of the richest ones I have ever tasted. It was lovely but a little too rich. The stakes come & wasn’t cooked as requested but they decided it was ok & ate them the broccoli with chimichurri was to die for. Both the lads said the steak was nothing special. We all said we would go back if asked to my friends but would not be somewhere we would choose to go back to. Overall I enjoyed my food. The lads said theirs was nice. The service is really not the best & it seems they don’t have a clue . The table behind us complained about the time they had waited for the food & was told it was because they were busy. They argued this & said it wasn’t busy when they arrived & ordered. I always think this is a poor excuse to give to a customer as it is not the customers fault you have booked in more than you can handle.

Seen some good reviews so wanted to try it out but can’t say I’d be back in a hurry. Food was generally okay, not something I’d shout about. There’s better steak houses in hull. Place was quiet (august Sunday bank holiday) and only 2 tables occupied ( ours and one other) yet still managed to mix our order up some how. Atmosphere is very strange, not something you’d expect from a restaurant. TV was on, music playing loud enough that you couldn't hear the person next to you, and the bar staff chatting behind the bar. At one point you could smell smoke from the kitchen and the waitress had to go in with a serving tray to help remove the smoke. Bar / waitress staff didn’t seem organised even though there were only 2 couples in the whole place. Some training on customer service wouldn’t go a miss, it was lacking quite a lot. Wasn’t very impressed, can’t say I’d go back.

We had a fantastic breakfast on Sunday morning. The quality of the produce was outstanding and it was cooked to perfection. Would highly recommend them for excellent food and service. Nothing is too much trouble. We have been here on numerous occasions, they have the best ribs I have ever tasted, never been disappointed.

Awesome meals for large party. They catered for our party of 16 and the food quality was unbelievably good.... And from we understand, it was just 1 chef..100% recommended

The food was really excellent. A large family group had a range of dishes from steaks, to ribs and the king prawn pasta (fantastic) and most agreed it was the best they'd had. The staff were friendly and the restaurant had a lovely atmosphere.

We are here as a family. Very nice service and delicious food. The Tomahawk steak was superb and well worth the money. We would definitely return.

Been before it WAS great tonight terrible food, service dreadful and when we complained our steak was cooked wrong told we had eaten some so half refund. How do you try it ? you eat it. Staff member rude, said SH1T during conversation about poor service, poor food. Will never go back again. Long wait not all of food arrived. Medium rare steak arrived well done and garlic bread with starter burnt. Waste of time and money and spoilt our evening.

Brought my husband for his birthday and was really impressed by the really good customer service and plenty choices on the menu. Delicious starters and 2 really nice sirloin steaks that cut great. Accompanied by really nice sides of baby potatoes and red onion. Would highly recommend.
