The Cabin Chippy in Sandwell

Been coming to The Cabin Chippy in Tipton for years - used to pop in a few times a year and the food was always spot on. Bit gutted about yesterday's visit though, if I'm honest. Got myself a large fish and chips with salad, but blimey, what a letdown! The batter on the fish was nothing like the lovely crispy coating I remember - proper thick, fatty and stuck to your teeth. The salad looked past its best by a day at least, mostly just massive chunks of red onion. Only decent bit was the chips, but even they tasted like the oil needed a good change - you know what I mean? Proper shame to say it, but I wouldn't bother if I were you. Plenty of better chippies in Tipton where you can get fresh fish and chips done right.

The girl need to be more careful with her hair sitting there eating away at my chicken meat and chips and pulls a dirty dark hair out my mouth waste of money won’t be using again when she’s there

Great chip shop One of best priced chip shops in the area with good food. Speedy service and they always get my telephone orders correct

The food always weird I avoid that place as much as I can. Sometimes I go in there and they remind me why I shouldn’t! The staff lack customer service skills , they lack hygiene practices. They don’t even use gloves in that place and handle our food all the time.

Yummy yummy food I love it. When ever I go to my grandmas for a visit (not often😢) we always try and come to the cabin chippy and it’s so great I love it

I ordered a mixed kebab and there was no chicken, to much sauce which made it soggy. The kebab was warm not hot, I only managed to eat a small amount. Very disappointed with this experience considering the score on the page.

my order was wrong I ordered mixed meet in naan with hot chilli and I got just Donna keebab in naan with mayonnaise

They kept putting the delivery back. we ordered at 18.58 it arrived at 20.15. I asked the delivery driver what happened, he said he was the only driver on tonight. But delivery being poor was made up for the high quality of the food. It arrived fresh and hot and was excellent 👌.

Food delivery time kept being delayed, had to ring the shop 5 times and kept getting fobbed off with various excuses, we were told, it was late due to the rain which caused bad traffic and then because they were busy. Poor customer service will not be using them again.

Ordered at 5.50 delivered after 3 times calling shop at 7:45 won’t be using them again

ordered 17:40pm, delivered 20:20pm kept getting delayed. the food did arrive hot so it wasn't on the road too long. the chips are alright, the small fish was quite chunky, the scallops were greasy and the mushy peas were really runny. so many good reviews too.

First time trying this chippy, Had to call the shop twice to find out where my food was, at the shop they were very helpful and apologetic. I was abit apprehensive as food would have been cold! But when it arrived the driver apologised and food was hot and tasty, fish was nice and fluffy and kebab meat was delicious, not dry. Battered chips were lovely, Everything was fresh! which is a main thing for me! Definitely be using again 👍🏼

Very polite driver.i had a mixed kebab & chips and it was very nice lots of kebab meat & red meat with lots of salad too & chips partner had battered sausage which be also enjoyed they give you big portions also ordered a spring roll & piece of chicken.. Haven't ordered from here for a while but was very happy with everything the small delay was nothing cus they did let me know & apologise & it didn't take anything away from the food Everything was really nice thank you 😊

Only issue is that the order was slightly wrong. Otherwise, nothing else to fault.

Delivery was fast but they got the order wrong. I ordered mixed meat an chips but all I got was the red chicken meat an chips. No Donna kebab at all. I also had to order 3 sources which totally ruined my meal. I phoned them an all they did was send Donna meat out to me but by the time that got here I'd already finished what I could . Very disappointed in them tbh.

Proper Black Country chippy with orange chips.

Fish and chips were the best we’ve had in a very long time really enjoyed them.only downfall was the paper you wrap them in had broke away and stuck to the fish and chips and was a nightmare to unstick and the delivery time got changed 3 times and driver was still late.but can’t knock the food was so nice and good portion sizes and red hot just the paper prob and driver being late-but he was a nice guy thank you so much 😊

Absolutely rubbish !! Spend so much get a free bottle of coke ! No coke when delivery comes ! Phone the shop they say complain to just eat !!

Ordered food on the just eat app , said free bottle of Pepsi with orders over £20 which the order totaled over and then added £3.25 on for the Pepsi , took this off the order . What happened to the free bottle ? Sort the App out because this has happened before to me . False advertising !!

Honestly, probably the best chips I've had in awhile, also had the chicken tikka in naan. They were generous with the amount of chicken, I was very pleased.

Promotion on just eat app for 1.5litre Pepsi , I was charged for it . Spoke to the delivery driver said would have to contact Just eat for resolution. Sent the Pepsi back , still spent over £20 as detailed on the site and haven't recieved the offer as stated

Was a 4 or 5, nice battered chips I must say & then.. there was new guys or the biggen should I say who's very stingy with the portions now even though the prices have raised & without the updated prices on wall or over top counter just charges you extra 50p or pound so. 3 quid for a bag of chips is a little mad if ask me!

Didn’t have one product so replaced with something I didn’t like

So I ordered from The Cabin like I sometimes do when I'm in Tipton & was very disappointed with the service I received. For a start my food was late, they put the phone down on me & kept saying 10 minutes. Iv been at work all day & all I wanted was an easy tea but it was just hard work. And FYI I didn't receive my pot of mayonnaise instead of received this green stuff in a pot. 6.50 for fish and chips and the fish was the size of a mini battered sausage. Very annoying. Food that we did get was nice I'll add to make the burn of this review less painful.

Food really nice asked for large fish got 2 small the massala fish wasnt hot (spicey) chips and gravy really nice will try again

Driver wasn't looking to where his was delivering order as I watched him go over the road from my house and he returned to his car turned around saw me on my doorstep and asked my house number and who I was .

Food was nice , only problem they put a Sauce on one meal although a note was left on the order . The App needs to be changed so you can choose the NO SAUCE choice without having to add 2 more choices with it before you can place an order

Arrived 1 hour early than order time

Portion size in large kebab meat and chip for£7.50 and there was not a lot of kebab meat I also ordered a kids kebab meat and chip and there wasn't much more on the large, definitely not worth the money.

This chippy is one the best ones iv had i cant seem to grasp why people talk bad about this place. The place is well looked after with the drinks fridge stocked to the max and wide range of variety and always cold. the kebab meat is decent both the doner and chicken, i always get cod roe and the batter is the perfect crisp with melt in your mouth cod roe. You can always pay by card and the staff look like genuine people. Not to mention their masala fish and naan with actual clay oven nan bread the fish is perfectly seasoned

Food was delivered on time but the only small let down can't even say let down was that the gravy I ordered was warm by the time I received it but saying that it tasted great as did the rest of the meals I ordered for myself and wife.
