Great pub great atmosphere although we only drop in when passing and it was quite busy but yes food was delicious

Stopped for a pint, great place friendly owner. Highly recommended stopping in for a pint on any occasion.

For us this is an example of how a village pub should be run. A warm welcome, good friendly helpful staff, delicious food with generous portions from a varied menu with a choice of several specials. A lovely ambiance with special attention to seasonal decor. We will definitely return.

A lovely local pub and friendly service. Starters were good but main course lacked. Prawns and pate to start were very good. Mains across the board were poor. I had the fish and chips. Batter was soggy, chips over cooked and peas looked like they were reheated. Worst pub fish and chips I remember. Kids had scampi and chicken. Pretty sure both were out of a frozen packet. My wife had the vege chilli. She found it far too spicy and didn’t enjoy it. I personally thought it was spicy but I liked the flavour. Tough one as overall lovely pub, but in the end we would not go back for food, which is the ultimate measure.

My sea bass was excellent as was my husbands steak and kidney pudding . A most enjoyable meal and easy parking close to Corfe Castle

Can Honestly say we had the Best Sunday Roast ever experienced! The staff were welcoming and friendly. The setting was cosy and historic 500 years old with a lovely ambience. The Roast was perfection! we had Beef and Pork with freshly cooked vegetables! Shame we do not live nearer but will definitely be returning. Thank you!

Lovely food and good atmosphere.

We walked to Corfe fro Grange view point about 4 miles and decided to walk that little further to This beautiful old style pub. The staff were friendly and no problem finding table for 3, the menu was extensive with so nothing you wouldn't mind ordering. The service was fast and food was delicious at a reasonable price taking you back to the days of good honest pub grub. We're so glad we made the effort to go that little further and found the best pub we've been to in years, we look forward to working our way through the menu, highly recommend this amazing place

Found in Corfe a little way up from the town square. First night had a couple of beers and wine. Staff were fantastically friendly and a lovely atmosphere. Next night went back for evening meal and was worth every penny. Quality was good. Speed of service- with 25 mins of ordering ( it was full at the time) Staff were lovely Drinks reasonably priced and as expected. This is our pub of choice in Corfe castle.

Cracking Sunday roast and amazing sticky toffee pudding!

We arrived for a late lunch (the kitchen stays open all afternoon!) and were greeted by such a great group of people. From the bar staff, to the waiting crew and manageress all we keen to make our lunch a great experience. The food was great, huge choice, for both adults and in our case very fussy kids. Would highly recommend a visit. Great outdoor space too and - free car park across the street (which can be easy to miss as you drive by!)

We heard there was a magician performing at 6, so went excitedly at 5.10 so we could have a drink and something to eat before he started. However, they weren't serving food till 6 and refused to make a note of our order. That meant that, come 6, there was a rush at the bar and my disabled husband got pushed to the back. We got served after everyone else, nearly an hour after we put in our order and despite having been so early. The magician began performing and we were so excited to see him, but it was close up magic and although he visited everyone else, he never came to our table. In the end we gave up and left. I was really disappointed.

Friendly service and decent food at a reasonable price.

We stayed in the village for the last week of April 2023. Terribly bad of me to be composing a review this late. We were a short walk from the pub so it soon became our local. The food and service was consistently excellent! There were always interesting specials available. The next time we hop across the pond from Canada to Corfe Castle, this pub will definitely be visited again!

Great outdoor space with Castle themed play area for kids. Friendly, helpful staff and good quality well-priced food.

I found this pub as I was looking for the number 40 bus stop back to Poole from Corfe Castle. I had a 35 minute wait until I stopped in for a cup of tea and could not believe my luck. This place is as old as the rest of the village and authentic top to bottom. The tea was delicious and they served it in a sweet little ceramic pot. The staff was funny and so were the locals hanging out and chatting. One offered to take this picture of me as I roamed around like an obnoxious American taking pictures of the fireplaces and the beams and the floors and the furniture and the picnic tables out back. What a gem! They're about 1/4 mile out of the main village, but more than worth it.

Great kids garden. Lovely food and lovely staff. Perfect was to spend a Saturday evening. And Louise is hot!! ;-") The ham egg and chips was AMAZING So was the stake pie.🥧 Thank you for everything.

The pub and the food was a disappointment. After 10 days of excellent food in the south of England, now a disillusionment at the end of the holiday. I can't understand the good reviews. I had decided against fish and in favour of the vegetarian option. In addition to the lack of tomato sauce, there was a small piece of plastic packaging in the food, which is unacceptable.

Great pub, I will definitely be coming back. The magician was a great idea for Mondays

This is a very quirky Ancient Pub in Corfe Castle. Unfortunately we would never step inside again. I had the Roast Chicken Breast Sunday Roast and my wife had the Roast Beef Sunday Roast. My chicken was cooked but stone cold as if it had been taken out of a Supermarket package and put on the plate with hot food. The skin was not even cooked or brown. Our Roast Potatoes were soft and chewy and felt as though they were cooked days ago and warmed up. The parsnips were Rock hard and chewy. Again thought they were days old. The Yorkshire Puddings were soft and very very chewy. You could not cut the Potatoes, Parsnips or Yorkshires very easily. The cabbage was washed out! All in all it was an absolutely awful meal and has to be the worst Roast we have ever had to chop through and eat. Please do not order the Sunday Roast as it is Gross!

My husband and I visited this pub as we were looking for a roast dinner. The sun was shining so we sat outside in the lovely garden - a lovely waitress come straight out took our order and within 10 mins served us with the most amazing roast dinner I have eaten out in years. Thank you and we will definitely be returning as we visit Swanage through out summer - this time camping at Norden Farm which I also recommend if your a camper. Compliments to the chef!

Good beer, good food and friendly staff. Needs to decide what sort of pub it is. There was no indoor gathering/drinking area for locals as all the room was taken up with set tables. The hatches are too small with creche items scattered around in the corridor. Good night out though in the garden.

good pub, good beer and good food. just spent a week in Corfe and used the Castle Inn for most of our evening meals. they are dog friendly. good variety of Food at reasonable price. Advisable to book it is only a small Inn. very good staff and service very accommodating.

We came in on a Friday night and the inn was really busy but the head of bar manage to accommodate us. There were just the two of us. We didn’t have a starter because we thought they were doing us proud for finding us a spot that was really comfortable. The food was amazing, so amazing we came back on the Saturday. My partner and I sat there talking planning our Sunday roast before we made our way back to Hampshire. We both more or less said that we had to try the Sunday roast, so we are going to book before we leave this fantastic eatery. Thank you CHEF and staff of the castle inn.

Friendly staff behind the bar and the food was of a great standard.

Even though they were fully booked inside, they found us a table in the back garden. The sun was still shining, so it was warm. The proper job was lovely, and the meals hot and plentiful. We enjoyed the fried halumi with cranberry as a starter, and for mains, ham egg & chips and steak & kidney pudding with a side of fries.

Lovely atmosphere with the ceiling lights throughout (Xmas tree style lights). Friendly staff, Mike is it? The food was excellent with a good selection and a good selection of wine and beer, we sat in beer garden good seating area, service was good no company’s about anything we will visit again.

Just wanted to say thank you for a lovely meal last night on fish Friday. We had the pleasure of being served by a young man (sorry didn’t get his name). He is an asset to you, he was very polite when talking with him, we wish luck for the future.

Went for dinner one night and ended up going back twice more. There were other eateries in the village but if it ain't broke, why fix it. The welcome was warm and friendly. The log fire inviting and the food great. I've never seen such a flakey crust atop a beef and ale pie in my life. And the pie was chock full of good tender beer. Amazing place

This pub works to consistently provide a wonderful service to all. Innovative for locals during the "quiet" times and thoughtful ideas during family friendly times. We cannot praise this pub more for working hard ALL the year round. They also provide v v good food and friendly service.

We went to their steak night. Staff very friendly, but meal not so good. The rump steaks were very tough. We asked for medium rare and got rare. The restaurant was cold, as the fire was only lit half way through the meal. I would recommend getting the ribeye next time, and sharing it if too big for one. So sorry can only give two stars

We love this pub, always come here when we visit Swanage. Lovely and lovely atmosphere, the staff are all friendly and so as their customers. They had 40% off menus so kids enjoyed adult portion scampi after a long bike ride! Kids can run around in the garden while waiting for food to arrive!

This was my first visit to the Castle Inn despite just living a few miles down the road. We were 8 friends there for the Sunday roast lunch. The food was excellent, especially the meat which really was delicious. It came with Yorkshire pudding, roast potatoes, roast parsnips, swede, cabbage, peas, broccoli, and a very tasty gravy. All the food was piping hot. The staff were friendly and efficient, the welcome was warm. A couple of our group had other dishes on the menu which were also excellent. Highly recommend!

One of the few pubs we found open for a meal on a Sunday evening. The pub is very attractively laid out and the staff were very friendly. Our meal coincided with a 40% off deal so was exceptional value. The was a good choice on the menu and all of our meals were well cooked and delicious. We will go back again when we are in the area. Recommended.

What a fantastic pub! On a cold evening in January, we ( 12 of us) descended upon them for supper and were met with warmth, cheerfulness and the most delicious food imaginable. So we would like to say thank you to all the friendly staff and to the invisible chef who sure knows how to cook! Thank you.

Reasonable prices and a great effort made with decorations for Christmas and so a nice vibe all round. We went by car but I bet it would be a perfect destination to a robust country walk. What a lovely find. Impromptu visit for a roast dinner sat outside as weather was lovely. absolutely delicious would definitely come back thank you.

The staff were nice but the place was alot smaller than the pictures show. We were a table of 6, we were seated right Infront of the bar which people then tried ordering over the table. We all had roast but none of it was very nice. The roast pork was very tough and dry as was the beef. The roast potatoes were hard and didn't seem like they'd seen an oven. Gravy was already on the food when it came out so you didn't get a choice whether you wanted it or not. My mother had the baileys cheesecake for afters but it had no biscuit base. I think you could find somewhere a bit nicer for the price.

Popped in on a Sunday evening on the off chance for an evening meal. From the very first words from Isabella, we were made so welcome. Service food and atmosphere were second to none. We were not rushed and were last to leave. Throughly recommend this wonderful traditional pub, lovely to see they still exist. Nick & Angie.

Family of 2 adults and 2 little ones for Friday night dinner. Our server (Rosie) was excellent and did everything that she could (and more) for us and our daughter who has complex medical needs. Food was nice and tasty (I’d describe it as good old pub grub, nothing fancy). The Mangolicious IPA was delightful! Would definitely visit again if we were in the area

I arrived by chance, I'd been looking for somewhere to stop that had sufficient car parking space for my motorhome. The Castle Inn was the first place I saw with sufficient room and I'm glad because the Sunday Roast Beef was perfect and good value. There was plenty of tender beef and plenty of vegetables. The service was friendly and efficient and I'd certainly go back again. I chose to sit out in the shady garden and it was delightful on a warm sunny Sunday. I even got to share my table with a ladybird!

We visited here whilst staying in the area and the reviews looked great. We called to book a table the day before but reservations are not taken in the school holidays, we were advised instead that food would be served from 5.30pm on a Saturday. We arrived on Saturday at 5pm expecting it to be busy only to be met with a sign outside stating food is served all day and a mob of people all at the bar ordering food. It was a manic rush to find a table but we chose next to the bar, we chose our meals waited for the calm but it didn’t come so I joined the queue and waited patiently. The bar staff were lovely really friendly the order was taken with ease and the drinks were reasonably priced. Despite being so busy our food arrived very quickly within twenty mins. My beef burger was nice and hot but dripping with grease, my boyfriends chicken burger was cold and dry however we could not get anyone’s attention to get it changed. I ate as much of my meal as I could with the constantly dripping burger and my boyfriend had one bite of his chicken burger and left the rest. We paid our bill and promptly left, we could have raised it on paying but felt there was no point as we just wanted to leave as the hustle and bustle in the bar didn’t make for a relaxing eating experience. It’s a shame as the puddings board looked good and we were going to stay for the evening but that was not to be.

Stopped in for a cold pint on a hot afternoon. We didn't order food. The inside is beautiful with fairy lights string across the ceilings, a cute little fireplace display and a lovely big beer garden with a play fort for kids. Highly recommend on a day out to corfe castle.

Team accommodated 9 of us and 4 dogs on a very wet August day. Friendly pub with a great atmosphere. Well worth the short walk up the road from the centre of Corfe.

Been here a few years ago and it was amazing! Went here today and would not recommend and would avoid going there again! Food was poor quality both adults and childrens and clearly frozen and just heated up. Even saw the chef go into a shed and come out with 2 small frozen packets 😂! Young staff were friendly and polite but that was the only good thing. Garden spacious for kids but lots of areas full of rubbish that little one can wonder of into that would not be safe. Save you money and don't waste your time!

Very friendly family service with really quaint environment. The food was really great. At first, we thought the choice of deserts was limited but when they arrived…….OMG, they were lush. Difficult to improve on perfection. We are now left wondering why we can’t get sticky toffee puddings like this at home. Totally recommend for enjoyable meals out.

Brilliant for kids - there was a great magician who came to the table. They were very patient (we didn't arrive until 7:30 pm) and the kids food was good value and delicious. Adults food was also great - lovely fish and very moist chicken...
