The Cellar by Wine Monkey in Wiltshire

Really wonderful and incredibly friendly independent café/wine bar; very accommodating with a great array of coffees, teas and hot chocolate that can made according to dietary requirements and restrictions. Alcohol is served from 12 with a good range from old and new wine and beer. Thoroughly recommend The Cellar; it is a hidden gem! and will definitely be revisiting!

We can't rate food as we didn't have any. This review us for the service - thank you Hannah and Victoria and we loved the decor, atmosphere and general ambience. Great to have some soft seats as I have a problem sitting on hard surfaces due to arthritic joints. We will come back for food another day. Restful and a place where any age feels comfortable. Coffee lovely.

Didn`t actually eat but certainly enjoyed a nice glass of wine . The Guy who served us made us so welcome ,great service. We often visit Chippenham as my wife`s Family live there. So nice and relaxed We will Definitely be back

My partner and I had a fantastic evening at Wine Monkey. He had a bottle of red and I had a bottle of white and shared a yummy charcuterie and cheese board for 2 and crisps. The mushroom and garlic crisps were so delicious. The atmosphere and service were both excellent. My only suggestion would be to give more information on the menus about the wines we were buying. I.e alcohol percentage and a description. The wine came in plain bottles with no labelling or corks/ lids. The staff couldn’t give us this information either. Having said that, the red and the white wine we had were superb and we will definitely visit again. 😊👌🏼

We had a wonderful time at the Fondue night. Food was great and a lot of fun. Service was attentive without being intrusive and a lovely atmosphere. This is a welcome, charming addition to our little town.

We didn't have anything to eat, however it offers a good choice of wine and beer. Fair prices and friendly service. We all enjoyed the evening here.

We always love a trip to Wine Monkey! Whether it be for a quick drink or to stay a while, it’s great. The charcuterie boards, dips and sourdough are so tasty and we’ve spent many an evening listening to live music too. The staff are so helpful and friendly. Can’t wait to pay a visit during mulled wine season 🍷

I absolutely love The Cellar, our book club meet here every month and we have the best time. The wine selection is brilliant and the food is delicious!! Everyone that works here is super friendly and helpful too

I asked for coffee and was told that unfortunately the coffee machine was off and that was before 4 o'clock.

I recently had an unpleasant experience at Wine Monkey, where the staff’s attitude left a lot to be desired. Despite having visited the bar before and having been a paying customer, I was refused the use of the toilet on my most recent visit. The staff were rude and dismissive, making me feel unwelcome and as though my previous patronage didn’t matter. What’s worse is that the place was nearly empty, so it’s not as if they were overwhelmed with customers. For an establishment that also advertises itself as a coffee shop, it’s baffling to see such disregard for basic hospitality. If Wine Monkey doesn’t want to offer basic facilities to its customers, they should at least treat people with more respect. I won’t be returning and wouldn’t recommend this place to anyone expecting decent service.

Great atmosphere. Amazing food. Lovely spritzers and 0% wines. Perfect music (90s Brit Pop (Oasis) followed by eclectic 60’s / 70’s). Not too crowded or noisy.

Amazing place to visit, the wines are the best I have tasted, the owner Bryan is so knowledgable and the food options are very tasty. Perfect evening for me and my husband to enjoy a beautiful atmosphere with great service and better yet the wine! I am looking forward to attending one of the wine tasting nights coming up. Highly recommend the Cellar by Wine Monkey.

Not here for the wine... Here for the coffee.. which is fantastic! Always get great service here, staff smiley and happy to chat to customers while you wait. Really love the atmosphere although I've only had drinks to takeaway so far. Have some really great variety in coffee beans which I've started to buy to try at home too. Love it 👍

Wine and tapas which are great. The venue is shared with coffee and cake business. Very nice customer service and really nice food. Venue is ideal for everyone and allows well behaved dogs. Well presented washrooms. Clean and tidy operation with a lovely atmosphere. Well worth visiting when in Chippenham.

I mostly visit for a coffee, and it’s a new favourite - a great alternative to the ubiquitous chains, and it very much enriches the shopping area. I haven’t tried the food, but from what I’ve seen it looks very nice.

Obviously the best place for a wine in the local area! Busy busy but great atmosphere

The coffee is really good but I particularly like the chai latte. I recommend the lemon drizzle cake too!

Really nice ambience with lovely wine and food

Stopped for a drink, will definately book for one of their wine tasting evenings.

Visited for the first time and was very impressed. My group had both white and red wines, both were beautiful. Staff very helpful and knowledgeable and with bringing out bowls of water for our 4 legged friend and some lovely snacks for us, will definitely be back!

Been there Thursday with wife had 2 glases of wine and cheese platter. Cheese board especially good.

We popped in last night for the first time. Excellent service and atmosphere. The wine was great and the cheese platter was fab. We had great time and we will be back.

Awesome, and a breath of fresh air for Chippenham. Don't really want to review it as it'll raise it's profile and mean it'll be harder to get into in future! Staff were great, food really good and the wine was fab. 5* from me!

This is such a lovely wine bar. The owner is so knowledgeable and the staff make you feel so welcome. Vince is awesome. There is a great range of wines so I can order my favourites and also try something new. This is a great place to visit in Chippenham!

Went to a wine tasting evening and had a brilliant experience. Fab people, delicious food and wine, all set in a gorgeous venue with a great, friendly atmosphere. A bar and shop aswell so you can enjoy some drinks in or outside and take a bottle or two home with you. Great gifts for wine lovers.

I had a really fun time their and wine is delicious. You can get beer and cider there too which is also very good.

Fantastic asset to Chippenham! Classy yet relaxed atmosphere, beautiful decor, and of course amasing wine. I've visited a couple of times now and each time there were enhancents to the menu and shop items. It's so nice to have a place where you can have a good wine with friends, where you can chat with the ownder and get the load down of where each wine was sourced, and I also love the sustainability angle! This is definitely becoming a new favorite spot in the heart of Chippenham. Thank you Wine Monkey!

Great place! All the wines we tried were really nice. The food is really tasty and nice it's local produce. We were served by Ryan and he was friendly and knowledgeable!

Lovely addition to Chippenham, does offer a great beer too for those of us who aren't big wine drinkers. All the staff were really friendly and the atmosphere was awesome.

Brilliant new venue - finally Chippers has a decent wine bar. Distinctly better value than the competition in Bath and the same refined yet relaxed feel with delicious wines.

Lovely new wine bar in borough parade, nicely laid out with plenty of seating, amazing knowledge of wines and serving some lovely finger food to soak up the wine!🙂 My only moan would be that there is no intention to have a full menu at this time but that's just my preference. Wonderful place for a few glasses of wine and a nibble👍

This is exactly what Chippenham needed, a great place with fantastic, welcoming and friendly staff. Great selection of wines on offer all backed up by sound knowledge from the team. Stopped off here by chance on Saturday and the vibe was buzzing and relaxed, so much so we spent a great afternoon yesterday with friends and family. Strongly recommend you give it a go and support a new local business. We will definitely be back!

Had a great time here today. Both wines I tried were really nice and reasonably priced. Staff were very accommodating to our group which kept growing over the course of a few hours and also explained about the things that we can look forward to in the future like wine tastings and food. Great experience today. Staff very friendly and welcoming (even though we had a pushchair and moved tables as more of our friends showed up!) Love the ethical ethos of the place and good selection of wines at a reasonable price. Will definitely be going back.
