Visited with my brother on a rainy Saturday. We enjoyed the cathedral views as we ate. The servers were very helpful - they took the time to check the ingredients for their milkshakes to see if they were suitable for me. I was really glad to see they were made from ‘natural’ pure as opposed to syrups as the syrups normally aggravate my ibs badly. So I got a real treat! We also ordered two fry ups - my only critique is there was a huge amount of beans which filled us up too much that we struggled to manage the toast. I think half the beans would have been perfect portion wise. It was all freshly made and delicious. I can’t wait to visit again!

Fantastic little cafe with views across to Exeter Cathedral. Great range of vegan dishes made to order. Busy at weekends but well worth a visit. Try their smashed avocado on toast - heavenly.

My new favourite coffee shop in Exeter! I've been almost every day since they re opened and the coffee is out of this world. The cinnamon bun is probably the nicest I've had, and their red velvet latte also needs a special mention. Next mission is to try their food

A nice atmosphere with good vegan options from burgers to milkshakes. Particularly enjoyed the milkshakes, very tasty. Burgers were pretty standard, nothing extraordinary but good to have a vegan option.

Had the main vegan burger with vegan bacon with fries and a chocolate milkshake. All wonderful and the milkshake was mind-blowingly awesome. So friendly and cosy. Still too cold to sit outside but looking forward to coffee & cake outside on Cathedral Green in the summer.

Phenomenal food and drink! Seriously tasty! We both had the divine festive burger, accompanied by gorgeous milkshakes - gingerbread for me and biscoff for my wife. Staff were great and friendly. Amazing! Highly recommended!!

Ordered the cheeky burger with a separate portion of fries £9.95 and £2.95 for the fries. Cheeky burger was really nice. But Disappointed with the size of the portion of fries. I know times are tough but come on Cheeky Vegan please give a full portion of fries not a handful of fries in the box with the burger. See photo. After speaking with some friends who also made a visit they said the same, they ordered a portion of fries (tiny portion again). For £2.95 customers expect more than 15/20 fries!!!

Eat the Bird has been on my radar for a few years now. We're not local to Exeter but this is the second time we've visited for a few days, the last time being early 2022. My husband is coeliac (needs to eat gluten free - GF) so a lot of research always goes in to eating out. Eat the Bird has cropped up regularly on various Facebook groups recommending it for it's GF food. I tried booking during our stay back in 2022 but it was fully booked. Fast forward a couple of years and I made sure I booked us a table as soon as I'd booked our hotel. We duly arrived on a Friday evening and, I'll be honest, the place wasn't what I was expecting at all. On arrival it looked like there was just a handful of booth/ tables by the cooking/ serving area and there was a steady stream of delivery drivers coming and going. I guess I'd expected something a little bigger, a little more polished and generally less 'rustic'. I was worried I'd made a mistake and that we should have stuck with something 'safe' that we were familiar with. Anyway, we duly took our seats and looked at the menus........ It's fair to say, the staff clearly know their stuff and we soon settled in (in hindsight, I'm wondering if we were actually served by the company founder, if not it was someone who looked a lot like him......). The 'special' came highly recommended and we were given assurances about the various GF options (of which there were many). I opted for the special, my husband a chicken burger (?The Furlough), there were so many great choices. We both had a portion of fries and slaw. The fries were outstanding, light and super crispy, the slaw spot on and the burger, oh, the burger! If I'm completely honest, I can generally take or leave a burger, a burger is 'just' a burger no matter where you are, right? But, this was no ordinary burger, it was in all honesty, absolutely delicious, as were the dips we had for our fries. I think I must have practically rolled out of the place, definitely no room for any dessert! Would we go back? Absolutely! Would very happily recommend. Super excited to see there is now a branch in Bristol, we must hunt it out. It's great to find an independent place that does GF so well and, I have to say, for what we had to eat/ the quality/ quantity (and compared to some of the chain restaurants) I thought the bill was pretty reasonable.

First time in Exeter. It was a day trip from Bristol. Weather was horrible. We found the local BrewDog to get out of the rain and eat lunch. Best beer of the day was Keep Currant and Cherry On by DOT Brew out of Dublin, Ireland. Lunch was wings. Everything was perfect. No complaints.

Brilliant place to eat! Especially if you got to catch a train, not far from the station, tasty fresh burgers and the milkshake are to die for, I will definitely come back again!
