If you didn't know it was there. You could easily walk past. Don't, exceptional old English pub. Awesome welcome, Dog friendly. Super friendly staff And customers. One of the few pubs with a pool table. Really not expensive compared to other pubs in town. Well done all involved.

The owners son, the little dwarf that works behind the bar thinks he’s something , he’s rude accused me of smoking weed when I don’t smoke and he says get out for nowt it’s a trashy unclassy pub anyway and that tramp needs to sort out himself too always wears same clothes.

Nothing has changed since my last visit over a year ago, always a pleasure to be there!

Went here for a beer prior to the darts, only 3 of us, and took advantage of the pool table. After having a laugh with each other about how one of my friends shots was a foul the land lady come over and grabbed £10.00 off the side of our money saying “she doesn’t allow betting in her pub” to our point we said it was for the next round of drinks. Noting that there was only two £5 notes there and if we were betting there would be three of them. After several minutes she put the money back on the side and walked off. Very unwelcoming. We spent more in the 45 minutes we were in there than her locals must spend all week. Needless to say we finished our drinks and left. Do not go here unless your in the ‘click’

Bobbie is a great host. I was welcomed in a pub and city I'd never visited. Felt like home from home. Bass on cask is fantastic.

Very friendly staff but little disappointed as said outside great choice of Ales but only one on tap and that was the Bass.

Proper old style English pub, it isn't flash, the drinks aren't overpriced and the owner, staff and people there are good ones. Can't fault it and regularly visit for a couple of games of pool with the child

Lucky find. We were looking for a friendly pub to play pool. That’s exactly what we found, great service and atmosphere and a great little pool table as well . We will be back.

Decent pub. Had Bass on cask. The tiny beer garden was cozy.

There isn't many public houses around anymore that the decor inside is like what you remember a pub to be like as a child. There is a garden out back for smoking beer isn't expensive and the staff are polite & friendly. It's had a spruce since the last time I was here👍🏼

Isolated by dint of surrounding demolition. Very clean and well preserved inside, belying the exterior. Bass Red Label on handpull, all the rest are pillar taps. Expect a warm welcome.

A proper local ... but in the heart of the city. Such welcoming people, definitely a hidden gem

Cozy pub, good atmosphere. Jukebox is present, pool table, a beer garden and they are occasionally hosting acoustic performances and open mic nights - what else can you ask for! Rather small though.

Nice meal waited agers for gammon but server was lovely and brought us some more Only downside was rudeness of staff member huffing and puffing that we requested to be moved(although plenty of room) and was told if our 6mth old was making lots of noise we would have to move 😂 Thanks Frazer for that “welcoming” feeling when we first arrived Would of given 5 stars if it wasn’t for this staff member

Members Club. Been a member since the 80's. A friendly place with a brilliant atmosphere for you to relax. Helpful and confident staff who enhances your experience of the venue. Good selection of beverages at reasonable prices. A nice selection of homemade food which compliments your palate.

Very friendly pub but in dire need of makeover. Beer garden could do with a visit from Alan Titchmarsh🤔☺️ I think there a TV program here😂😂

I play pool here with a team. So this was an 'away' match. Everyone is friendly. Just remember to bring cash with you as no chance yet to pay by contactless or card

It's not to bad. Expensive for what it is. Drinks are nice. But one very annoying regulator. She had a very big mouth and was the only person in the bar who had a chance to say anything. Very annoying not going back.

I LOVE!! this place. The regulars are friendly and welcoming. Very calm and chilled place through the day. Picks up a little in the evenings, but then after 11.30pm this place is. A blast. Great atmosphere
