The Coffee Shop in Eastleigh

Llegué justo antes de las 11. 30 y me apetecía un almuerzo / merienda ligero temprano. No había menús en las mesas. Después de largas esperas en colas bastante cortas, pregunté si estaban sirviendo bocadillos o similares. Dijo que no hasta mediodía. Viendo un menú de desayuno dije, ok voy a pedir algo fuera de aquí. A lo que ella dijo que dejaron de desayunar a las 11. 30 . Así que lo único que se ofrecía era pastel. Locura. Estuve aquí antes, siempre lento el servicio y caro. Mucho mejores lugares donde se puede ir en la zona.

Espera promedio en estos días de 30 minutos, pero realmente no nos molesta eso, prefiero esperar que tener la comida apresurada o preparada. No tenía un problema con la higiene En general, la relación calidad-precio es muy mala Ensalada lateral v débil, apenas hay frijoles en patata (menos de un cuarto de lata) y extremadamente caro ¡También odio las sillas altas sin bandeja! No volvería hay lugares mucho mejores alrededor

Pasamos por un capricho para un lugar para almorzar y esperábamos una cola ya que es la hora pico del almuerzo un sábado. La cola era en realidad mejor de lo esperado, sin embargo, apenas había mesas libres y todas las que estaban libres tenían montones de platos sucios, tazas, etc en ellos . . Está bien, mi marido hizo el pedido de patatas al horno y pescado con patatas fritas... Seguimos esperando a que llegara la comida, sin embargo, como comentarios similares en aquí terminamos esperando 40 minutos antes de decidir obtener un reembolso y salir. Mientras que el personal era disculpado y nos ofreció una rebanada de pastel gratis para llevar a casa parece que este es un problema recurrente. Mi marido intentó discretamente marcar a un miembro del personal lejos de la cola de personas a las que nadie prestaba atención, por lo que tuvo que esperar a través de la cola de personas una y otra vez, momento en el que las personas detrás de él se habían enterado y también decidieron ir a otro lugar para almorzar... En observaciones generales había 1 pobre miembro del personal haciendo todos los viajes entre la cocina y el cliente tratando de servir toda la comida y aunque disculparse con cualquiera que había hecho quejas sobre el tiempo de espera parecía bastante perdido a veces y terminó teniendo que hacer viajes de regreso a la cocina ya que no podía encontrar la mesa correcta para la comida... También un poco preocupado por las normas de higiene, ya que había un empleado limpiando mesas y limpiando y cuando un cliente le pidió un poco de sal / pimienta les dio coctelera de otra mesa, pero no antes de limpiarlos con el mismo paño que estaba utilizando para las mesas, etc . . .

It is at least 4 ,months since our last visit, and nothing has changed, we could see our meals had been put on the serving hatch , and they were left there for 13 minutes before being brought to our nearby table, for what you get it is still overpriced, the wife’s cheese macaroni was dry with hardly any sauce , my steak and ale pie meal left a lot to be desired. Gardening wise, the business is first class, but with regards to the restaurant, improvement to the quality of the food is necessary , management need to take note of these reviews.

I had lunch here one Sunday. It's a nice cafe / restaurant with lots of seating. I had to wait ages to be served. It seems that the person who serves you then goes off to make the drinks each time. This caused long delays. Perhaps drinks orders could be passed to others whilst one person mans the till? I then had to wait ages for my food. I had roast turkey. This was £15, so more than I'd expect to pay at such a restaurant, although there was a good amount of food, including lots of veg. There was also a delay between the kitchen ringing the bell for the food to be taken to the tables. I was impressed by the variety of dishes on the menu which ranged from light bites to main meals. I realise that I went at a busy time, but the process could have been more efficient. I'd say it's a decent cafe / restaurant if this could be sorted out.

Went to the cafe to treat my daughter to a cooked breakfast. Placed our order at 10.46. Coffees were served immediately. Food arrived 50 minutes later. The waitress who served our food was apologetic for the delay. The eggs were congealed and the tomato and beans were barely warm. The rest of the food was either hot or ok. This delay was totally unacceptable and we weren't the only ones having to wait. Would not recommend.

We decided to eat her instead of going to a local pub, how wrong we were to do that. It took 45 minutes from ordering to get served, 4 lunches and drinks totalling over £51.00. After 30 minutes I asked when we would get to eat and I was told " you are on the list" well whoopydee. Communication was appalling, we were bought cutlery which I returned as it was stained. Food finally arrived after 45 minutes and on sight it was overpriced for what we got, e.g. a filled bun with very small chicken fillet, bit of coleslaw for £9.99. Were were going to order puddings separately but given the wait time and cost we went to the local pub after all and had a Pint and a Pudding...which arrived within 10 minutes.

We came to Hilliers food Hall for a pre- mother's day lunch today. There were 5 of us and the bill came to £94.09. 3 of us chose fish and chips and all 3 portions were completely over- cooked. 2 of us had coffee cake for dessert. The cake was edible, but very dry. We all ate our lunch having paid a large sum of money so felt it would be inappropriate not to eat it. At the end of the meal I did thank the waiting staff for all their effort as they were polite, friendly and professional, but clearly the food Hall is trying to mass produce orders which then equates to a detriment to the quality of the food which is then served. When this garden centre was owned by Rosebourne (up until Wednesday of last week) the food quality was excellent. Such a difference experience now sadly. I would not recommend this restaurant to anyone. It is very expensive to be served with poor quality, over-cooked food. However, the waiting staff cannot be faulted.

I visited hilliers today with my friend who is in a wheel chair. We wanted to have a cup of tea and a cake in the cafe. The cafe was not wheel chair accessible. When I went in and asked if there was any other way into the cafe I got a head shake from a member of staff. Not even any words. Not even a sorry, no. This was extremely rude and unprofessional. This left my friend feeling humiliated and upset. Not just because the member of staff was rude but that I couldn’t get her into the cafe. There was a ramp but the threshold was too high. We won’t be returning. Not having wheelchair access for disabled people is discrimination.

After reading reviews saying that food was disgusting at Mulberry & Thyme, I must say our Freshly Cooked Breakfasts was excellent. We had 5 different breakfasts. Each was exactly as described, hot, good portions, and all arrived at our table at the same time by friendly staff. Will definitely recommend.

My husband and I have just han a delicious savoury afternoon tea. The table was laid with lovely white tablecloths ,flowers etc. The food comes on miniature garden benches, so cute. The food was so fresh and tasty, so much of it too that we have taken half home for tea later . Thank you to the great team, professional friendly and attentive.

Four of us had the Mother Day Set Menu - two courses for £20. Well I have not tasted food like it in a long time it was absolutely delicious. A lot of thought had gone into this meal and I do hope they start doing Sunday lunches - you won't beat the food. My companions had the roast pork meal and I had the vegetarian meal which was a hazelnut and mushroom layer - delicious - I was not disappointed. The puddings were to die for - very different and definitely not boring. You do get an awful lot of food so go hungry. The service was excellent. Well worth the money. It is a very clean place so go and judge for yourselves.

Not going there again, dirty crockery waiting to long in the queue. Just not good dirty kitchen floor seen from the cafe

we visited your Botley restaurant today (19/12/21) around 1400 (2pm) We were in the queue and ABSOLUTELY DISGUSTED AND APPALLED. To see your ‘chefs’ eating whilst preparing and cooking food and at least 3 times lick their fingers and put their fingers in mouths and DID NOT wash hands at all whilst the. Continuing to prepare food bare handed without washing and whilst eating over the food. Obviously this was shocking and digusting to see. I approached the kitchen area from the outside as its an open kitchen The chefs basically looked at me without any care so the manager on duty spoke to me and I explained how appalled and digusted i was by this. The female’chef’ micha/misha came storming out and was instantly aggressive and rude and open admitted to ‘tasting’ the food . Of which i said so you’re happy be putting fingers in your mouth and not wash them and all she said is she is Allowed to taste food. We all KNOW that if it was tasting food this should be done with appropriate cutlery and hands should be washed especially if putting hands it fingers in mouth i stated to her that its a serious breach of food hygiene she just said “F*ck this” and walked off. Your manager even told her to calm down. As you can and should feel this is unacceptable and disgusting behaviour .

Went for coffee this morning. Great value. Lots of people eating fantastic looking food. All staff friendly not just those in restaurant. Very impressed. Will go again and eat next time.

As a group of 4 from different household we asked to eat outside (undercover) but nothing was too much trouble for the friendly and helpful staff. As we arrived the table was laid beautifully and then the food, promptly delivered, was superbly presented, very fresh and all tasted yummy. The warm Christmas scones were particularly delicious and I should have asked for the recipe! Thank you so much for a wonderful start to Christmas. We wish the staff a very Happy Christmas. Highly recommended.

It was lovely to find a cafe open where you did not have to book or queue, the place has social distancing in place and the staff were very friendly ,we had cake and coffee mine was orange and chocolate and my husband was chocolate and mint they were both delicious.

We popped in for lunch to break up the working day. New process since lockdown means that everyone has to sign up for their loyalty card in order to capture details for the track and trace! Cunning! This of course meant it took an age...

Stopped here for a spot of lunch. Wife's salad was ok but my sandwich was overpriced for what it was. Normal shop type bread and all for £6.99. Small portion of chips for £ 3. Would choose Haskins anytime over this place.

Stopped by here for a coffee break while driving to a meeting. The filter coffee was excellent. The Victoria sponge was good but a little overpriced.

Shockingly poor. My advice is stay clear of this place. Over priced and poor quality, this was a second chance visit. There wont be a third.
